Gabriela, a theater student and cheerleader for a basketball team begins a job at a carwash in order to help out her family - her father has just died and she is the eldest of her siblings. The carwash is owned by a famous businessman, Tony Clemente, who will meet Gabriela and have a short but passionate affair with her. Gabriela, however, is falsely accused of drug trafficking and ends up in jail, with a 15-year sentence. Tony abandons her due to her bad luck, choosing to ignore the fact that she is expecting his child. In jail, Gabriela plots her escape, something she pulls off after having served seven years behind bars. Only one objective drives her existence: revenge against the man who ruined her life, Tony Clemente. To achieve her purpose, she changes her name and her physical appearance and manages to reintroduce herself into the life of Tony, making him fall in love with her all over again.

00:03I should be there to give the order, of course, and that's why the general is
00:08getting me out of here, so I can give the command. Prisoner, a prisoner is what I am.
00:18I only have to give you my name, rank, and serial number.
00:27I think about Tony. I dream about Tony. I exist for Tony. That's the difference. If I don't
00:37fix this and find a way to be with Tony, I'll be wasting my time. Being an actress means
00:41nothing without Tony. I don't know you. Since you met that man, I don't know what's real.
00:48I don't know where my friend is now. It's as if life has become a story, and nobody knows
00:56how it ends.
01:00I don't want an end to this story.
01:33I don't know where I am.
01:48And listen to this story.
02:00To be continued...
02:20I... I don't know what to say.
02:22I suddenly feel so distant from you.
02:26But there's some things I have to say to you.
02:30I believed in you.
02:32And I'm sorry now.
02:34I believed in you with all my heart.
02:39And I... I think I still do.
02:42Because if I didn't, my whole world would come apart.
02:47And I couldn't bear the pain.
02:50What we shared together was very real and very special.
02:56Yes, Tony, I love you.
02:59I love you.
03:02I love you.
03:03I want you to know that I've never felt this way about anyone in my whole life.
03:09Please, please, Tony, don't let me down, my love.
03:19Here are the documents the car wash sent over.
03:22See you later.
03:25Nora, is Tony in his office?
03:27I need to see him as soon as possible.
03:31Do you remember your lady friend, the one who worked for us a while ago?
03:35Yes.
03:36I'm not sure I want to hear this.
03:38Listen.
03:39Since you know the girl,
03:41perhaps you should tell her to stop coming around.
03:43And to stop calling all the time.
03:46For her own sake.
03:49I can't take this.
03:51I really must see Mr. Clemente.
03:53No, he's not in.
03:55You have a message?
03:57You can let that jerk know that I'm done piloting the airplane for the Clementes.
04:01I'll never set foot on one of their planes again.
04:03And I want nothing to do with Tony Clemente.
04:05I will not accept any position with someone that preys on girls for his perverted obsession.
04:09He should take a good look at himself for a change.
04:13Oh, there's really no need to overreact, Andrew.
04:16Mr. Clemente had absolutely nothing to do with what I just said to you.
04:19Just tell him I'm leaving Clemente Enterprises pronto, comprende?
04:24You don't mean what you're saying.
04:26Are you sure?
04:27Yes, I'm sure, Nora.
04:30You can reach me at home if there's any details to handle.
04:33Goodbye.
04:39I contacted the landlord, and they'll be sending someone out to change this lock.
04:43Here you go.
04:51Sit up for a while.
04:53I want to talk to you.
04:56You're smart.
04:59And you know about my life.
05:02Yes, I guess I do.
05:05Oh, I talked to a man today about going over and changing the locks on Amanda's apartment.
05:11And I've been thinking about your plan a little bit, and I don't think we should change both locks in
05:16the same day.
05:18All right then, Gerald.
05:19Leave here now and go over to Amanda's place.
05:21That's one thing you need to do.
05:22You need to go to that apartment.
05:24If the missus calls, I'll keep her away.
05:27Ah, what a mess.
05:29Go and make sure Amanda's there.
05:32Tell her I need to talk with her about an important matter.
05:35Okay.
05:36We need to talk.
05:38Work things out.
05:41I curse the day that Karen introduced me to Amanda.
05:46But that's not what I want to talk to you about, Gerald.
05:50I need to call Gabrielle.
05:53I promised I would go and see her.
05:57How can I?
05:59How?
06:00How?
06:02I don't know what to do.
06:04What do you want to do?
06:07Anything I can that won't hurt her.
06:09But look at these papers, Gerald.
06:12Look!
06:14She even made me some Jell-O.
06:17I never think about tomorrow.
06:22What was I thinking she was?
06:26What I did was wrong.
06:30And now there's no way I can make any of it better.
06:32But what are you going to do about it now that it's already happened?
06:37I wish I knew.
06:40I could try to dissuade her.
06:42So she won't want to call.
06:45So she won't want to write.
06:49You can't imagine the pressure that's on me right now.
06:52I have 40,000 calls to answer.
06:5440,000 meetings I need to reschedule.
06:56And I don't know when I can take the time to...
06:59And what do I do?
07:02I jeopardize all I've accomplished.
07:04And Layla.
07:07I'll never again, Gerald.
07:11The fun and games are over.
07:14And Amanda will have to accept that we're through.
07:18And I'm doing what's right for that young lady.
07:23She'll think I was lying when I was saying those things.
07:25And it'll be all over with.
07:27You might want to send along some money to cement that.
07:30You know, set a price for her trouble.
07:33And all that occurred between you.
07:34Are you insane?
07:36No, no.
07:37I know exactly what I'm saying to you.
07:38You want to make her angry.
07:41Make her hate you.
07:42Then do it.
07:43It's guaranteed.
07:44My experience with her makes me know it would be easy.
07:48Remember the other day when you sent me to take her shopping?
07:50Well, she could have had it all.
07:52A new wardrobe.
07:54Well, when I looked into her eyes, she was offended.
07:59Listen, I know one thing for sure.
08:01You have me deliver a check to her.
08:03And it's all over.
08:06You did tell me you don't want to see the girl anymore, right?
08:12Can I do that, Gerald?
08:14Look, all you need to do is write a number.
08:16She'll look at that check and think,
08:18what is this?
08:20Is this my price?
08:23Well, she won't want to see you again as long as she lives.
08:26Just the way you want it, right?
08:34Gabrielle, we really should go to your house.
08:39What for?
08:41Well, you know, Casey calls you.
08:47And what could he say?
08:52Now I see it all clearly.
08:56And I know it's important that I move ahead now.
08:58I have absolutely everything to look forward to.
09:01My whole life's ahead of me.
09:08You know I'm not the silly type, Nellie.
09:10Not that way.
09:13But that one evening,
09:16the emotions filled up every corner of my heart.
09:21And in that meager hour,
09:25well, it was magic.
09:29I can't explain, Al.
09:32I felt so right with Tony,
09:33like I belonged there.
09:37It meant everything to me.
09:41Oh, well, you know what it's like, huh?
09:43But I can't sit around here crying all day,
09:45like a little girl.
09:49But when you're so in love,
09:51the pain can be unbearable, huh?
09:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:56I try to forget, but it's not possible.
09:58I can't help caring.
10:02All I want,
10:04all I dream about is seeing him
10:06and having him hold me until I explode.
10:12But I'll try not to care.
10:18No calls come.
10:22And I think that his secretary hates me.
10:31And if his wife is so happy,
10:40it'll pass.
10:43And I wouldn't bet on that marriage.
10:51I'm also afraid of that.
10:56What if you're right about that marriage?
11:00And I bump into him again one day.
11:04And he says hello.
11:08And we kiss.
11:09And we can't stop
11:11because we're caught up
11:12in this moment of passion.
11:13We're consumed with passion.
11:18But I remind him of an evening
11:25when he spoke of our life together.
11:31Nellie, excuse me,
11:32but I need to speak alone with Gabrielle.
11:35Andrew, I was just leaving.
11:36It's important that I speak with you.
11:38Nellie, mother's at the market.
11:39Will you go help her, please?
11:42But...
11:42Nellie.
11:45All right.
11:53Bet you don't know I was a Tony Clemente's.
11:58And his secretary asked
11:59if I would deliver a message.
12:01And I told her I would.
12:04You are never to go over
12:05to that office, Gabrielle.
12:06They laugh at you like a...
12:08parasite.
12:09A parasite to Mr. Clemente.
12:12A parasite to everyone there.
12:14You're just angry.
12:15We'll call her.
12:16Her name's Nora.
12:17I'll get her on the phone
12:18and she can tell you all about it.
12:22Please listen to me, Gabrielle.
12:26You have to stop this.
12:28Don't you see it?
12:30It hurts to hear you making such a big mistake.
12:32Like it or not, I care about you so.
12:37Anyway.
12:40I suppose that's why Tony called you.
12:42When?
12:44Earlier today.
12:46Yeah, today.
12:48And you want to know why?
12:52You wouldn't know anything about it.
12:54I'm going to tell you why.
12:55Maybe he called so he could tell you himself,
12:57personally,
12:58not to go to his office anymore.
13:02Or maybe, um...
13:04Maybe he's decided to keep up his little pastime.
13:08And now I have something else to tell you.
13:11Not wanting to repeat our last little discussion,
13:13I am going to meddle in your life.
13:15I am going to be involved in it
13:17whether you like it or not.
13:19Not to help you,
13:20but for something more important.
13:23so I can keep my dignity
13:25like you once had.
13:27Do you know what it's like
13:28to hear those ugly rumors
13:30out of the mouths of secretaries?
13:31How dare you say that to me?
13:33Because.
13:34Because it's the truth.
13:35It's the truth whether you accept it or not.
13:39You'll have to accept the truth sometime.
13:43And I know you'll hate me for telling you,
13:45but I'd rather you hate me
13:47for destroying your illusion
13:48than watch you live what I know is a lie.
13:52Illusions of a romance with a rich man.
13:54Don't you speak to me like that!
13:58All right.
13:59I can feel myself beginning
14:01to get over my infatuation for you.
14:04Whatever happened to that young woman
14:06who was so great?
14:08Well, maybe she has just changed.
14:11And become what?
14:12Important.
14:14You know, until today,
14:15I was the personal pilot for Clemente
14:17and I remember all of his sleazy little women.
14:20And you have to understand, you see,
14:21that I see your pain and your hurt
14:23and it only makes me mad
14:25because you're too good
14:26to sink as low as Clemente.
14:29Listen to me!
14:30How did you get out of prison,
14:33Benderson?
14:35No, Amaya.
14:36He was forced by Tony to rescind.
14:39You're not specially do it for any tart.
14:43Since you are his tart now,
14:45you deserve to be treated special.
14:48Didn't I tell you to stay out of this?
14:51You don't understand this, any of it.
14:54I'm not the same girl
14:55and I don't want you sticking your nose
14:57in my personal business.
14:59The person that you knew
15:00is no longer the same.
15:03It's too bad you're not the same, Gabrielle.
15:07Horrible.
15:11Such a shame.
15:13Damn you!
15:30Is that you, Julia?
15:32It's me.
15:34Have you seen Gabrielle?
15:35Not for a while, Mom.
15:38What's with that girl?
15:43She...
15:44Look at you.
15:47What do I see here?
15:49Well, I got tired of the way my hair was.
15:52Ah.
15:52And since they paid me for the work
15:54I did the other week
15:55for my friend at the hospital...
15:59We have to take a photo.
16:00It's all right.
16:01Oh, perfect.
16:03Just with the carnation.
16:05Oh, let me see that.
16:06Beautiful.
16:09I am the luckiest lady alive
16:11to have such beautiful children.
16:13Your father was not a handsome man.
16:16Not to mention the rest of his family.
16:23Well, are you going to tell me?
16:27What, Mom?
16:29All about the man.
16:31So, he's an intern.
16:33Or a medical student.
16:34It's not that, Mother.
16:36No?
16:37Then why there?
16:38You didn't do it for me.
16:40Ha.
16:41I'm always impressed with you.
16:43With you tall, little, thin, or all grown-up.
16:47So what?
16:48You're the beautiful Chewie I love.
16:51Ah.
16:52But if you want to look good for a man, that's okay, too.
16:56Huh?
16:57No.
16:59It's for me.
17:00And that's all.
17:03Yeah.
17:05So keep it a secret.
17:08Listen.
17:09If you are well, and you're young, it's great.
17:15Enjoy.
17:16But you think I'd mind if you had someone special?
17:19I'd be happy for you.
17:20You hear what I say?
17:22You stop worrying so much about your mother.
17:24One day you're going to move out of this house,
17:26and I already know that.
17:27Okay?
17:29Aw.
17:37Yes?
17:38Hello.
17:39If you please, I'd like to speak to Gabrielle Swanson.
17:42She's not here now.
17:43Oh, too bad.
17:44Would you give her this?
17:46Of course.
17:47Oh, you must be the one from the television show.
17:50No, ma'am.
17:51You see, I'm an employee of Tony Clemente.
17:56Ah.
17:58It's a note.
17:59I don't know, but it's personal.
18:01I only work for Mr. Clemente.
18:04Julia.
18:05Huh?
18:05Julia, will you get the telephone?
18:07I don't know when Gabrielle will be back,
18:09but I'll make sure she gets the message.
18:11Don't worry.
18:12Could you tell me how to get back to the freeway?
18:15Oh, sure.
18:16It's very easy.
18:17You go to the corner, make a left,
18:18then just go straight ahead.
18:20You can't miss it.
18:20Thank you very much.
18:21Good day.
18:22You're welcome.
18:26They just called Gabrielle.
18:28Yeah.
18:29Who?
18:30Tony Clemente's office.
18:34Huh.
18:36What's that, ma'am?
18:37Some sort of message they brought for Gabrielle.
18:40Come on, you're not going to open that up, are you?
18:42Of course I won't.
18:43I can see who it sent you.
18:46Were you talking to Clemente?
18:49No, just his secretary.
18:51The secretary?
18:53Yeah.
18:54All she said was that she'd call back.
18:58Mom, why were those two policemen who arrested Gabrielle here today?
19:09You won't believe the arrest I made today of this man who was living with an older woman.
19:13The jerk connects his refrigerator to a high-tension pole, you know, so he figures when the woman goes to
19:18open the refrigerator, that's it.
19:20Now, the woman finds out about this plan, and she's planning to set him up to go to, uh...
19:26Where are you, David?
19:29Huh?
19:29Where are you?
19:31David.
19:32Penino, I'm sorry.
19:35Well, what were you saying?
19:37I don't want to repeat it.
19:39Look, I'm sorry.
19:40I was thinking about my mother.
19:44How is your mother now?
19:45Do you know?
19:47She's so-so.
19:48The woman who cares for her says she's doing better.
19:51And the doctor there seems to agree.
19:53He wants me to try and talk to her.
19:56I'm not sure my mother's up to it.
19:58Well, maybe it's best to wait.
20:01My mother has days when she does well.
20:04There are days when she almost seems normal.
20:06And she can answer you with perfect logic.
20:08And so you think that all is well because she's acting absolutely perfectly.
20:13And suddenly she'll start to cry and cry.
20:16And no one's there.
20:18And when she cries, she'll cry for hours like something's burning inside her.
20:23And there's nothing you can do about it.
20:24This happened when you were a boy, too.
20:27Yeah, that's right.
20:30When we were living together in Marin.
20:34She would become sad quite often.
20:37Like there's something she's hiding.
20:39And it's terrible.
20:41And she can't tell you.
20:44And you know, you know there's the kind of secret that if it sits, it will kill you.
20:52You'd think she'd had another life, Benito.
20:54Well, if she won't talk, then who else will?
20:57I don't know.
20:58There is no one else.
20:59And she never discusses it, Benito.
21:01I'd ask her, Mama, were you raised here, too?
21:05Did you have a house?
21:07Do we have any relatives, Mother?
21:09Mother, all dead, everyone, and no one else around.
21:12And that was it.
21:13No more discussion and let it alone.
21:18I was young when she left my father, Benito.
21:22And I remember how he hit her.
21:25He'd go get drunk and then he'd come home and hit her.
21:29And then one day I came home from school and there was my mother.
21:33And that was the day she decided we'd go.
21:35But you don't think that's why she's upset, do you?
21:37No, no, Benito, I know something happened.
21:39It's hard to remember because I was so young, five years old.
21:43My father was furious.
21:45And he broke a dining room table that we had.
21:48And he talked about someone.
21:52But if he said his name,
21:55I don't remember.
21:58It's back in my memory.
22:03There's a doctor who's been working with my mother.
22:05And he says she'll discuss it when she's able to.
22:10But when will that be, Benito?
22:12It'll come.
22:21Mom?
22:21I'm cutting in the kitchen.
22:36Well, Mom, did anyone phone?
22:45Hey!
22:46So tell me what happened, huh?
22:48It was good.
22:51How could I have a minute to talk with Mom?
22:53Is something wrong?
22:55We'll talk later.
22:59All right.
23:14Why didn't you tell me?
23:16And what was I supposed to tell?
23:19That I'm not in jail right now because of Tony.
23:22How is it you know?
23:24You talk to him?
23:25It doesn't matter who told me.
23:26But you knew who it was.
23:29And I want you to explain why you hid it.
23:31Because I didn't want you fooled.
23:33Why does everyone think that I'm fooling myself?
23:36Can't you just believe me?
23:37Listen.
23:37And what is it you're trying to say?
23:39Somehow Tony found out.
23:41And he did everything possible to get me out of there.
23:43I didn't wish it.
23:44It's not a fantasy, though.
23:45You'd like that.
23:46And I'm tired of everyone meddling in my life, Mama.
23:49Now, Gabrielle, just settle down.
23:50You know what I'm talking about.
23:51You don't have to believe this.
23:53But I know why Tony was there for me.
23:56You see, he's very complicated.
23:58He has a complicated soul.
24:00It makes a person intriguing to be complicated.
24:03And yes, I'm aware that the man has a wife.
24:05But he says that he wants to divorce her.
24:07And why shouldn't I believe what he says?
24:10Because he recently went on a business trip with his wife.
24:13See, I understand.
24:15They're associates.
24:16They're in a business, and it has nothing to do with romance.
24:18Enough, Gabrielle.
24:19It's not enough, Mother.
24:20It's not enough because it's serious.
24:22It's serious no matter what you want.
24:25Even when we talk on the telephone,
24:27he'll just say hello, and I can feel him close to me.
24:29And I know he feels it, too.
24:31Along with the fears and the doubts, Mother,
24:33of course there's anxiety there.
24:35And you know that I have them
24:36when there's all those nights that I can't sleep.
24:38Well, it's no wonder.
24:40But one day, he'll walk right in that door like a man.
24:43He'll walk right in that doorway.
24:45He'll come in and walk straight to you.
24:48And he'll talk for both of us.
24:50And then you'll see my true love for who he really is.
25:01Well, we'll just have to see who's writing.
25:09This envelope is from Tony Clemente.
25:16I hope it wasn't opened.
25:18You know very well that I don't do those things.
25:21Okay.
25:21You have the answer in your hand,
25:23and you'll know it when you read it.
25:27This isn't about winning or losing.
25:29I'm concerned about you.
25:32You stay and open that note.
25:35I want to see which way fate goes.
25:38And maybe all you've said is true.
25:41Or it's possible.
25:44Your mother could be right.
25:51It's a check.
25:57For me.
26:02It's for me.
26:04It's from Tony.
26:09Oh, Gabriela.
26:18Mama?
26:22Why is this here?
26:26Because that is Tony Clemente.
26:30Oh, no.
26:35What are you worth, Gabriela?
26:41$300,000.
26:43Oh, Gabriela.
26:51I'm so sorry.
26:52I'm so sorry.
27:12Yes?
27:14One moment.
27:16Gabriela, for you.
27:21I can't, I can't speak to people.
27:23Sweetheart, it's Tony Clemente.
27:25I'm so sorry.
27:47Hi.
27:50Gabriela.
27:51It's Tony.
27:54Hi.
27:55It's Tony.
27:55Yeah, it's a little token for your trouble
28:10It just can't work out and I want you to forget everything I said to you
28:18Let that night go
28:22My life has changed, and I've decided now
28:28That it's not right to see you anymore
28:38I can't resolve it
28:41I know it doesn't make any sense to you
28:44I made a mistake
28:46Tony
28:48Let me help
28:49Use the money
28:51Go study
28:54Go become the greatest actress in the world
28:58But
29:00What happened with us
29:02Is finished
29:05Forever
29:08Is that clear?
29:12It's clear, Mr. Clemente
29:14It's clear, Mr. Clemente
29:16It's clear, Mr. Clemente

29:36It's clear, Mr. Clemente
29:36It's clear, Mr. Clemente
29:40It's clear, Mr. Clemente
29:44You were right.
29:54You knew before.
29:56But I'm not proud that I had that feeling inside me.
29:59You know even though I had my doubts, I was hoping you were right all the time.
30:04Oh, my girl.
30:05My baby.
30:07Mom!
30:09Okay.
30:16Mama.
30:21Mama.
30:22Mama, why did he have to do this?
30:24Mama.
30:28Shh, don't.
30:30It's over now.
30:32All over.
30:35Listen to me.
30:37It's all over now.
30:40All over.
30:42Oh, my God, but he had to.
30:45Mama.
30:48I thought...
30:52I thought that he cared about me.
30:58I thought he cared about me, Mama.
31:03I even started to hate you, Mama.
31:07Forgive me.
31:09Oh, it's okay.
31:11No, no, no.
31:13You didn't mean to hurt me.
31:17It was nothing.
31:19Nothing.
31:21You couldn't help it.
31:24Something inside you took over.
31:27Come on.
31:28Mama.
31:29Come on, baby.
31:30Come on.
31:32It's all right.
31:34Sit down.
31:36Sit.
31:38This horrible day will end.
31:42One day it won't hurt anymore.
31:45But now you'll cry.
31:48And you'll cry until you can't anymore.
31:52Oh, baby.
31:53Oh, my poor baby.
31:58My poor baby.
32:03It's okay.
32:05It's gonna be okay.
32:07Oh, baby.
32:08Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh.
32:14I'm here.
32:16Oh.
32:17Yeah.
32:18No.
32:20Yeah.
32:21Yeah.
32:22Now listen to me, listen.
32:26Oh, Gabriel, no.
32:34Yeah.
32:41Yeah.
32:44Yeah.
32:48Gabriel, shh now.
32:52I'm going to tell you a special story.
32:56Your birthday.
32:58It was the happiest day of my life when I had you.
33:03A baby.
33:05My Gabrielle.
33:08When you were born, you were so small.
33:11But I knew...
33:14you would live.
33:18It was a miracle you did.
33:21And we cried.
33:23And we prayed.
33:25Let her live.
33:27And we'll love her.
33:29And we did.
33:33Gabrielle.
33:36I gave you that envelope.
33:39Because you needed to know the truth.
33:43And then...
33:45you opened it.
33:47And I saw how much that man had hurt you.
33:51And I understood.
33:54How cruelly he has broken your heart.
33:59Yes.
34:01We'll wake up tomorrow.
34:05We'll still feel sad.
34:08And for a while we'll feel sad.
34:12But in time...
34:14the tears will fall.
34:16And then you'll start healing.
34:19As the days pass, the same will get better.
34:21And you'll feel like the old you.
34:25I have no explanation except to tell you that this is life, my lord.
34:32This is life.
34:42No, no, this will never leave me, Mama.
34:49I have this feeling I can't explain to you.
34:54I saw him for only one night.
34:58It was like a lifetime to me.
35:04A memory that will stay forever.
35:07What's wrong, Gabrielle?
35:10What's happened to you?
35:12I'm sorry.
35:15What's the matter?
35:18Mom?
35:24Very bad news.
35:27And like all very bad news, it was necessary.
35:32Oh, Mama.
35:37Let her cry.
35:40That's what she's got to do.
35:45You see, your sister is starting to live.
35:48Hmm.
35:57Okay to come in?
36:10Do you want some dinner?
36:14While Mama was making it, I was saying that I, you know, you know I don't know anything
36:24that happened.
36:25Mama didn't want to explain to me.
36:37Your hair looks nice.
36:40Do you think?
36:43Yeah.
36:46Much better.
36:50Well, I don't really know what happened today, but I want you to know that if it's possible
36:56to help, then tell me.
36:58Should I call Nellie?
37:03No, don't call her.
37:06I want to be alone right now, but that's okay.
37:09You really want to be alone?
37:12Well, Huey told me you showed in my book the one about reproduction.
37:18Well, I brought home another one today, and I think you'll like it.
37:22Do you want me to get it for you?
37:27No.
37:29Nothing for a little while.
37:34All right, Gabrielle.
37:53What did she tell you?
37:55Nothing, but she's in bad shape.
37:57It was terrible.
37:59What happened?
38:01Poor kid.
38:04And I just feel so helpless at moments like this.
38:07She's not going to eat anything, Mother.
38:10Well, I'm only making a little soup.
38:14Then maybe later, if she wants it, then it's done.
38:18Mom, do you think something else happened?
38:22I sure hope not, because this is enough.
38:28Ma, do you know how long Gabrielle's been going out with him?
38:35Why'd you ask that?
38:37Oh, it's nothing.
38:47The reason I insisted on seeing you, Margaret,
38:51I have some more information.
38:53Let's hear it.
38:55That's why I pay you.
38:57Per your request,
38:58my company has installed a device
39:01that will pick up your husband's telephone calls at the bank.
39:04And?
39:06And this morning,
39:08your husband got a call from someone
39:11intimate.
39:16Your husband
39:17set up an
39:20arrangement to see her tonight.
39:24He gave her an address
39:26where they would meet.
39:29I have it here.
39:41Tell me what you want done,
39:43and it'll be taken care of.
39:45No, no, you will do nothing.
39:49I will just have to do
39:50what I ought to have done some time ago.
39:51Oh.
39:52Oh.
39:55My dear,
39:55oh.
39:57Oh, God.
39:58I'm not.
40:00Oh.
