00:09We're here after a second defeat of the season.
00:12Simple mistakes meant that we lost that,
00:16and it's a team that is still gelling.
00:18It's so hard losing to Southampton and West Brom
00:21in your first two championship matches.
00:22I know rival fans are loving it.
00:25It's a cutthroat business,
00:27and Parkey wants to win matches.
00:30He's under mental pressure.
00:32I think at this stage of the season,
00:34Parkey needs to make up who's in that squad.
00:36Do you know what I think?
00:37Who he's going to keep?
00:38Who's going to register?
00:41Transit window closes the 1st of September.
00:44How many changes will Parkey make?
00:47I don't know, but before we get on to other individuals,
00:51we have to talk about Oli Parma.
00:56Does Oli Parma still have a future at the club?
01:02Our game here in the Carabao Cup against Hull City,
01:07we're behind in the game.
01:09Phil has to change it up.
01:10On he comes for Hardy, does he?
01:13Enter the big man.
01:14Oli Parma was able to come off the bench.
01:17McLean, left-footing cross.
01:25Oli Parma!
01:27And score two remarkable goals to take us to 3-3.
01:32And straight to a penalty shootout.
01:35I mean, if you were a script writer, that's probably how you would have written it.
01:47Have I actually done well in pre-season?
01:49Yes.
01:49Have I come on in the Carabao Cup against Hull City and scored two goals?
01:54Yes.
01:55Am I currently the club's top goal scorer?
01:57Yes.
02:00But it is what it is, and what will be will be, and of course you see it coming.
02:05A few days before the Hull City game, the gaffer said, look, we've made some signings,
02:10some similar of your profile, and I feel like maybe it's the right time for you to leave.
02:17Which is, it was just tough, but it was inevitable.
02:21I don't want to sit around and be a cheerleader.
02:23That's not what I want to do at any club.
02:27Well, Oli, welcome to Swindon.
02:29How excited are you to be here?
02:30Really excited.
02:33Crossed arms.
02:35Above your head for me as well.
02:37I see.
02:39I mean, I find it hard to separate, you know, heart from head because, you know,
02:43he's a hero to so many people.
02:45I also understand that it is football, but it does tug at the heartstrings a bit.
02:52Leaving Wrexham is more difficult, probably, than leaving other clubs,
02:57because the players that we're talking about have been on the journey with us.
03:01Rob Ryan and Phil Parkinson have worked some magic with their record-breaking signing of
03:066'5'' striker Oli Palmer.
03:08A player we signed from AFC Wimbledon.
03:11McElindon's rebound.
03:12It's a rebound.
03:13Yeah!
03:14Oli Palmer!
03:15That's Wrexham ahead.
03:17Had a massive part to play in our promotion from the National League.
03:22Let's go!
03:25Oli and his contribution to the club completely changed the trajectory of this football club.
03:30And his natural ebullience and roguishness, shall I say, added a lot to the character of the building as well.
03:39We are going out!
03:41We are going out!
03:42We are going out!
03:42And it's sad, from one perspective, but it's evolution from another.
03:47All of this is different to any other football club.
03:50I've never had owners like this.
03:52I've never had fans this passionate that would do anything for you.
03:55It's just different.
03:57It's just different.
03:57And ultimately, we are where we are.
04:13And we are like, I'm going out.
04:15I'm out of here.
04:20fella. Sorry about that. We're really going to miss Oli, but I'm sure he'll be fine.
04:34Don't forget where you came from. Don't forget why you're made up. The ones who were there, but no one
04:45else would care.
04:47And don't be afraid to cry now, even when the world comes crashing in.
04:56Don't forget to sing when you win. Don't forget to sing when you win.
05:15Tea and coffee, who are we there for? The tea's here, the coffee's over there.
05:19Thank you. Tricky start, right? Like, listen, if you want to break it down,
05:24I think we were very lucky to not get something to Southampton. Deserved a point, didn't get it.
05:27And then West Brom at 1-1 when I thought we were in that game, didn't get it.
05:31So I fully expect we'll get the better of Sheffield Wednesday, because that will be important.
05:35But we need to be realistic. Every single point we get in this division is going to be absolutely fucking
05:39crucial.
05:40A lot of pressure on Parker though, isn't it? Absolutely.
05:42A lot of players have been signed. The problem is, he's been given 30 million quid.
05:45You know, you've been given a promotion pushing budget. It's almost like a noose around your own neck.
05:50Welcome to the Championship.
05:54Well hello, welcome to Wrexham against Sheffield Wednesday. A game we really need to get our account going.
06:00And against a team which sadly has had horrible, horrible problems off the pitch.
06:06Wrexham have got to take advantage, haven't we?
06:10The daft part about it is, if we beat Sheffield Wednesday, some will still look at it and say,
06:15of course they should have done. Look at all the problems they've got. They're a clubbing crisis.
06:24There is a version of the story where we are villains. It doesn't work. And then we go, what are
06:31we going to do? We have to sell it. And then we're the bad guys.
06:35Sheffield Wednesday's situation started back in 2015 when Chancery came in.
06:40I have purchased Sheffield Wednesday Football Club for £37.5 million.
06:45There was a lot of high hopes then, lots of money being thrown around. Then it was when Covid hit
06:50that things started to get really bad.
06:52Chancery failing to pay wages on time in five of the last seven months.
06:57It wasn't just the players that were unpaid. It was, you know, staff members, people in the ticket office.
07:01When it was people like that whose lives were being affected, it felt like that was sort of the straw
07:05that broke the camel's back.
07:06Get out of the back door! Get out of the back door!
07:10Get for Chancery! Get out of the back door!
07:14I am furious at what's happened at Sheffield Wednesday because in ten years the owner has sold the stadium,
07:22has got rid of the training ground, doesn't put any money in.
07:25We've got a worse squad than we had ten years ago on the pitch.
07:30That's a cautionary tale that you see play over and over again.
07:34And that's the thing that's most terrifying.
07:38That it doesn't matter how much money you have or that you can get from other people.
07:44Or if you're a billionaire, you just, there are certain things you can't buy your way out of.
07:50Sheffield Wednesday. This is a proud 158-year-old club.
07:54Been turned almost into a zombie entity.
07:57But the fans are still there, they still go and it still means something.
08:00The situation with our chairman, it's just heartbreaking.
08:04And I mean, literally heartbreaking.
08:06He needs to sell the club.
08:07The fact we've got a team out at the moment is positive.
08:10So I think all we're here for is to just get behind them lines and wear that shirt.
08:14Exactly.
08:15They are doing a black and yellow protest this weekend, that's what everyone's going to wear.
08:19If you have that gold kit from last season, that is a good way to sort of stand in solidarity
08:24with the Sheffield Wednesday fans.
08:27Today we're doing a little thing in solidarity for Sheffield Wednesday.
08:30Rob let us know yesterday that he supports it all and wants the gold shirts to be sold.
08:35So we've all got our gold kit from last year, we've got plenty left over.
08:38So we thought we might as well raise a bit of money with our gold kit.
08:41100% all go into the trust.
08:43You look at the teams that supported us when we were down, they all did.
08:47So we've got to do it, haven't we?
08:48Yeah, I got injured the week before, so I was obviously gutted about that.
08:53But then I saw Rob's tweet, it was obviously a nice gesture.
08:56I think all the people who I spoke to in Sheffield obviously appreciated it anyway.
08:59Black and gold till it's sold?
09:01Can't but hope, innit?
09:03We've had two unlucky results to start off with, but it's got to be a win today, I would think.
09:08Today is massive, get us three points on the board.
09:20Away you go, go back to the massive keeper, Horvath, and he launches a huge one.
09:31The Sheffield Wednesday fans chanting in protest and the whole Wraxham fans are applauding them.
09:37Set that real solidarity between the fans.
09:40So O'Brien with the free kick, stands it in behind the defensive line, it hits Moore, hits it!
09:46And it's there!
09:47Keeper Moore scores his first goal for Wraxham.
09:51Come on now!
09:53Big keeper!
09:54Big keeper!
09:55What a player this boy is!
09:58Woo-hoo-hoo!
09:59Keeper, well done, Sam!
10:02Right, boys, we're not going forward.
10:06Yeah!
10:07Yes, Brody!
10:09Here's Wraxham.
10:10Up to the edge area, a neat first time by Moore.
10:12Helps a nice deep right broad, that space for Dobson, hits the shot!
10:16Parry by Horvath!
10:172-0!
10:18Another goal for Keeper Moore!
10:20Good strike by Dobson.
10:22Moore with a simple finish and two attacks by Wraxham, two goals.
10:29Wraxham 2-0 up at the break as we get on the way.
10:32Come on, lads, keep it tight.
10:33Yes!
10:35Yes!
10:37Yes!
10:39Yes!
10:42Bad and good it's a set of right broad.
10:43Played up to Moore who holds it up.
10:46He feels he is fouled after he says not.
10:48And now does Danger.
10:49As Palmer comes forward, lays it out wise.
10:51Of course driven it nicely.
10:53He's back, must score, does score!
10:54And Wednesday are back in this.
10:56A very different feel to this match now.
10:59That really hit us hard.
11:01That we were in control and then one moment gone bang,
11:05the ball's in the back of the net and then it gets you on the back foot.
11:08Listen, when you don't win for the first couple of games of the season,
11:10anxiety can creep in.
11:13We need to close this out.
11:15We need those three points to get the season going.
11:20Holding up O'Brien well, squares it.
11:21Well, Logan hit this perhaps, works it wide,
11:24but there's space early for the ball.
11:25Ah, that's 2-0!
11:31A massive disappointment for Wrexham to lose that two-goal lead
11:35when that first win back in the championship looked to be ours.
11:40You know, when you're up 2-0 to a team like Sheffield Wednesday
11:44and end up in a draw, it feels like a loss.
11:54So, on the weekend, we drew against Sheffield Wednesday.
11:59Even though we were 2-0 up, it feels like a loss.
12:03Yeah.
12:03But Parkey clearly knows what he needs to work on.
12:07We need that first win, definitely.
12:09There's pressure, added pressure in it because the money's been spent
12:11and it is a lot of money, isn't it?
12:13Well, the pressure's on Parkey.
12:15Oh, of course it is.
12:15I mean, he's got his promoter three times, so he'll lead to criticise.
12:18Yeah, exactly that, but, you know, this is a different level now, isn't it?
12:21When they lose a game or two, people forget what they were originally being happy with.
12:25We might be too greedy, might we?
12:27Like, in Leagues 1 and 2, we were winning every game, weren't we?
12:29Every week.
12:30Yeah, but we're in the championship now.
12:32Yeah, it's a lot of good teams.
12:33They're no easy games.
12:35When you've had the success that we've had, when expectation is at the level as it is,
12:41and humans being humans, all of a sudden, there's always got to be somebody to blame.
12:47Is Parkey going to be one of them that holds his hands up and just say,
12:50look, I've took us as far as I can?
12:53I get asked that all the time.
12:54Do you think he's managed to take us forward?
12:57My answer to that is I honestly don't know.
13:00Justin, here is the manager who we have bottom of our manager rankings for the 2025-26 season.
13:08We have Phil Parkinson of Wrexham.
13:15Come on, let's get right up to speed.
13:17Play, Josh, let's go.
13:18Good, here we go then, good, good.
13:20Phil Parkinson, he's had over 1,000 games as a manager,
13:24but I think only about 140, 150 in the championship level.
13:28So this will be a test for him.
13:30Phil Parkinson is a Wrexham legend, but Parkinson's championship record isn't great.
13:36His most recent spell was with Bolton, who were relegated in 2019.
13:40Phil's previous roles as a manager in the championship have been at Hull, Bolton.
13:46But in fairness to Phil, each one of those clubs had issues at the time.
13:51If you don't give somebody the tools to be able to do the job,
13:54the chances are that they're not going to do it.
13:57Parkinson's never had his own team that he has built up.
14:01He's been inheriting squads which are struggling to survive,
14:04or squads which are underfunded, and he's had to try and deal with that.
14:09One of the things that championship clubs are pretty consistent with,
14:14and that's sacking managers if they're not getting immediate success.
14:18But the reality is, it's because people don't have time to wait in chasing that prize of trying to get
14:26to the Premier League.
14:30I've been a manager a long time.
14:32It's a results-driven business.
14:35Everyone's quick to jump on the back of the manager.
14:38I think each season, over a third of managers' positions change.
14:44You never know how long you're going to be a manager for.
14:47I think the next chapter in this Wrexham story sees them getting a big name as manager to take them
14:52to that next level,
14:53because I don't think Phil Parkinson's going to be able to do that.
14:56This division is ruthless.
14:57Phil Parkinson has done more for this football club than most managers in the history of the game.
15:02But make no bones about it.
15:03If we lose seven, eight games in a row, serious questions will be asked of Phil Parkinson.
15:07What I would say is he deserves as much time.
15:10Got to give him a chance.
15:11I think he deserves all the time in the world.
15:13I personally would be stunned if he is still the Wrexham manager come the end of the season.
15:29I've lost Joey, but I've lost more than a friend.
15:33This is someone different.
15:35He was unique.
15:36He was a very special individual.
15:46Everyone knows about Sir Joey Jones.
15:48Everyone knows that he is Mr. Wrexham.
15:51And his contribution to football, certainly in Welsh football, enormous money.
16:00And, you know, I've lost a large part of my life.
16:08The football world is in mourning over the death of Wrexham legend, Mr. Wrexham, Joey Jones, who has sadly passed
16:16away at the age of 70.
16:19It's just so hard to put into words what he meant to us all.
16:22He's been my hero. He's been my hero. He just loved this football club.
16:53This is Joey Jones.
16:55Hi.
16:55Mr. Jones, a pleasure to meet you.
16:58Pleasure and honor to meet you, sir.
16:59Absolute pleasure.
17:00Thank you for everything you've done for the town of this club.
17:04Go for it.
17:24I met Joey when I was 14.
17:30That was the start of a 56-year, very special, unique friendship.
17:35We didn't have much in those days.
17:37I couldn't even pull the football boots.
17:40I'm not sure where Joey got his from,
17:41but he had a brand-new pair of his time.
17:43I've seen him, but when he first joined Wrexham,
17:45we didn't know what was going to happen to him,
17:47not knowing that we were going to probably play
17:49in the biggest clubs in the world.
17:51He became a legend and an icon,
17:54like he does wherever Joey played, that's what he became,
17:56because the way he played with his heart and his passion.
18:00Fist, clenched fist, that was his connection with the fans.
18:04He was, you know, showing that he was going to give them everything.
18:07He's a big lad.
18:08He was a big lad. No, I'm just very small.
18:13I think everyone inside this stadium,
18:15and anyone that's come across to Joey Jones,
18:18knows what an incredible human being he was.
18:21He's just happy to play the game he loved growing up.
18:24What a career he had in football.
18:25He won absolutely everything.
18:29Incredible.
18:30The first Welshman, as he tells me all the time,
18:32to win the European Cup.
18:34And he always used to say to me,
18:35Mickey, that European Cup ain't that heavy, you know?
18:39LAUGHTER
18:39But off the pitch, that's where his quality was.
18:43Joey has got a legacy, which will never die.
18:46Liverpool will keep that going, Huddersfield and Chelsea.
18:49But this is his home.
18:52Mickey will be in a dark place these last next couple of months,
18:54because Mickey and Joey, you know, two of one, they came together.
18:59For Mickey, I would imagine it would be like losing his right arm.
19:02Joey came with Mickey Thomas, but the pair of them together,
19:05they were just like little kids.
19:07They were just laughing, joking all the time.
19:11You know, I don't accept he's gone.
19:13You know, I know he has, but I didn't never believe he was ill.
19:18I couldn't see that in Joey, because Joey was always my strength.
19:22He was so strong for me.
19:24He's my heartbeat, isn't he?
19:27He has been my heartbeat for all my life.
19:30You know, it's the saddest day of my life he's gone.
19:33I can't bring him back.
19:35He's my mate. He will always will be.
19:37He'll never die in my eyes.
19:39God bless him.
19:52The direction being my chance, you know.
19:54I'm so lucky that I came here.
19:57But I wouldn't change it for the world.
19:58If I had to do exactly the same thing again,
20:00and have my career over again,
20:02I would still start at Wrexham Football Club,
20:06because it's a place to be.
20:29Off to Millwall today.
20:30Off to Millwall.
20:32We need the first win of the season.
20:34Let's be honest, we haven't had an exactly star-struck star, have we?
20:38I'm not panicking, but a lot of people are.
20:44Millwall's quite a legendary club in English football.
20:48Mr Norman Birkinshaw, the referee, said that he was carried semi-conscious off the field
20:51because of a deliberate attack from a spectator.
20:55The club's always been noted for that sort of thing.
20:57This is the view of Millwall that has become familiar.
21:00At Millwall, the view of the game is restricted by cages and spikes.
21:05These were the scenes at Millwall last year,
21:07when serious disturbances took place outside and inside the ground.
21:11Millwall fans relish and revel in the reputation that they have
21:15for being a sort of horrible club and a horrible place to go and play football.
21:19No-one likes us, we don't care, I think, is the chant from Millwall.
21:29If you come to Millwall, everybody's going to be right fucking together, okay?
21:33Remember, reset as a group, okay?
21:36We belong on this fucking stage, and we're going to fucking show it from minute one to minute 94 today,
21:42okay?
21:42That is one way to get the fucking crowd on the fucking back.
21:47Here we are at the den.
21:49The most visceral of all football venues for Wrexham to test themselves against a Millwall team
21:59that are going really, really well at the moment.
22:03As Wrexham get things in the way, this is going to be a test of character as well as technique
22:07here, isn't it?
22:08Ooh, Dobson too slow, balls in possession by Imaku, and he can't stop him dribbling past him.
22:13Hell of a tackle, that, by Matty James, it was three against two.
22:19Yes, Dougie, check, check!
22:22Tackled by Matty James, who has hurt his ankle, I think, to the delight of the Millwall players.
22:28He looks in some distress.
22:36Second half, and we're playing towards the fans.
22:39Come on, you friends.
22:40Come on, you friends.
22:46You need to be able to dig in, in these sort of tough away games.
22:52Move the ball, Cricket! Move it, Cricket!
22:57Good cross!
22:59Wormos are going to get back!
23:00And scores!
23:01You can't stop!
23:03You can't stop!
23:08Keeps his eyes on the ball, and all he has to do is redirect it,
23:11and it just sneaks in by that post for 1-0.
23:19We've got two minutes left,
23:21and it's getting to him,
23:22Michael tries to skin Dobson.
23:24Good work, Dobson intercepts.
23:26Cleared by James.
23:28Nobody up for Wrexon.
23:29We're digging in now as the clock grinds down.
23:32Long ball, Ward comes a long way.
23:34He doesn't hold onto it.
23:34Was he fouled?
23:35Ref says not, and it's missed!
23:36Oh, it's a sit-up.
23:38I've got to say, Ward is hurt.
23:39He looks really hurt in the middle wall,
23:42and Wrexon plays both calling to help for him.
23:46It looked like a foul, but Wrexon didn't give it.
23:49He looks in distress.
23:50Look at the middle wall and he fucking broke my arm.
23:52Come on, then.
23:53Okay.
23:53Give me something.
23:55Pay relief!
23:56Pay relief!
23:56Pay relief!
23:57Everyone!
23:57Everybody!
23:58X, Doc!
24:00Don't fucking touch it!
24:01Change!
24:02Change!
24:03Yeah.
24:03Arthur!
24:04You can, yeah.
24:05He's coming off.
24:07Okay, Ward, are you with me, buddy?
24:08You still with me?
24:10You still with me?
24:10Come on, just talk to me.
24:11Good.
24:13OK.
24:14Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
24:14We're going to...
24:15Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
24:17Come on, big man.
24:17Psst.
24:22A lot of middle wall fans standing up and applauding him as he's taken off on a stretcher.
24:27Let's hope that somehow it's not as serious as it looks.
24:33Here is the Concours.
24:35It's always bad to see one of your teammates get injured.
24:39In no situation do you want that to happen.
24:41But it's obviously created an opportunity for me to go and prove to everyone,
24:46and most importantly to myself that I am ready for this level.
24:49To be honest, it was nerves and a lot of excitement.
24:53You know, it was my championship debut.
24:55The ball in is a good one.
24:59What a save!
25:01That's a ridiculous save!
25:03It was just pure reactions.
25:05I just turned around and made the save, obviously.
25:08Well, save, by the way.
25:14For people to see him put allá.
25:16And the ball into the box and right this post line.
25:17Can he finish?
25:18Yes he can!
25:19Watch and turn the Engineer!
25:20And Raymondan in Melbourne!
25:22In a hundred and nine minutes!
25:25But go to the future
25:32Great clip in by McLean
25:34And what a finish by O'Brien
25:36Tight angle lifted it over Bender
25:42And there you are
25:43For the first time since 1982
25:46Wrexham win in the second tier
25:50Their fans are thrilled
25:54Three points on the board
25:56A win away, Wrexham win on our way
25:59It's just a great day for us to get off and running
26:01With a clean sheet and the first away, first win
26:03But more importantly an away win
26:07Welcome to the future
26:15Good like that
26:16Look at your feet, good
26:21Good
26:22Start this podcast where I want to send our well wishes to Danny Ward
26:26After his horrific injury
26:28It looked really painful there
26:29And that's going to be him out for a few months
26:32It was a dislocation
26:33With the elbow and then the ligaments and tendon have disappeared somehow
26:40And to top it all off
26:41He ends the night having to order his own McDonald's at a service station
26:44To be fair, mentally getting over injury is hard
26:47But sometimes you just need like a McDonald's or something
26:49Don't you just to pick the mood up
26:50I completely agree
26:51Double cheeseburger, Big Mac meal
26:53We've been in the hospital for hours
26:56I don't care
26:57The main bit I'm looking at is you adding extra cheese for 10p
27:06To see him go down was scary for so many different reasons
27:10And then seeing him at McDonald's later on that night via social media
27:14I realised he was probably okay
27:16But how long would he be out for
27:18They say around three months recovery time
27:22Hopefully he'll be back playing before four
27:24To see how far we need to get you coming up
27:28It's all a bit of a blur, a bit of a noise
27:30And I just remember thinking
27:34Why?
27:35Like why now?
27:40Just starting to get in your flow
27:42This return that you've dreamed of
27:44This, the way it's panned out
27:46By getting in the team
27:47It's now
27:50Fuck
27:52Yeah
27:53Tough, tough road ahead
27:54But made easier by the people around you
27:58It's the first time I've ever been in a club like this
28:01Where everyone is sewing it together
28:03Here's a club that's always been in my heart
28:05From the first time I went to watch my first game
28:07It's, it's the tonic I needed at the right time of my life
28:11Come on pal, cheers pal, touch base
28:12Will do
28:13See you later
28:17Go, go
28:23Stand meet through as we said
28:24You used to lead right and barry
28:26And then we'll pick it up at this end
28:28We'll do as best for you, pal, as always
28:30The summer transfer window
28:32It's an approximately a 10-week period
28:34Where, you know, football opens its door
28:37To the madness of transfers, sales and recruitment
28:40We knew we were going to need to strengthen
28:43To be competitive
28:44Yet we only had a very small period of time to do that
28:48It's the last morning
28:49We've got a number of things to tie up
28:51But every side in this game at the moment
28:54Is playing brinkmanship with each other
28:56When the window shuts
28:57That means there can be no further changes to the squad
29:00In our hour
29:03Hey Mike
29:04Welcome to the boardroom
29:05How you doing?
29:06It's the busiest window this club's had
29:07Certainly in Robin Ryan's time here
29:09You guys sent over the paperwork last night
29:11I believe
29:12It's been crazy and glad
29:14I'm looking forward to the clock strike seven
29:16If we get the ones in we want
29:18It's supposed to be this morning
29:18Let me go find out right now
29:20When the medical's scheduled for
29:21There's plenty to do between now and seven o'clock tonight
29:26So the problem that's known as Dominic Hayham
29:32No way we can get the medical done
29:34Fucking good question
29:36Leave it with me five minutes
29:37I'll come back to you
29:38Well do
29:39Thank you
29:39Cheers
29:40Fucking hell
29:42Houston we have an Apollo 13 type challenge
29:45Dominic Hayham is in Glasgow
29:49On international duty
29:50Do you think the agent might have thought of telling us that?
29:52Yes
29:52So we just agreed terms
29:56With the final piece of Phil's jigsaw
29:59With Blackburn
30:00So we're really excited
30:02We've just joined up with the Scotland squad
30:04He's in Glasgow
30:06So trying to work out
30:07How we get a medical done
30:09For a player who's in Glasgow
30:10When we actually need him in Manchester
30:12And we're in North Wales
30:13You've got a three o'clock slot on standby
30:16Yeah but I don't think
30:18There's going to be a chance
30:19To get him down from Glasgow to here
30:21No
30:22What I'll have to do is
30:23Right
30:24What do you want to do?
30:25You've got a chance to sign a contract
30:26Yeah
30:27I don't want this on camera by the way
30:34Summer transfer window finally closed
30:36Deadline day is always very busy
30:38Right
30:39The latest of the deadline day recruits then
30:41Dom Hyam
30:42Wrexham fans saying
30:43I think the deal's fallen through
30:44No it didn't
30:4511pm
30:46Dom Hyam
30:46The last in the building
30:48The summer transfer window
30:49To end all summer transfer windows really
30:5214 players in
30:5319 players gone
30:54Those free additions on deadline day
30:56They are huge
30:57We have never seen anything like
30:59Wrexham's summer transfer window
31:02They have quite literally signed a whole new team
31:05Spent more money this summer
31:07Than they've spent in the previous 161 years of the club combined on players
31:11We spent a lot of money this year
31:13But many of the teams that were competing again
31:15Have had years of building their current squads
31:18So the money that we've actually spent
31:20Is only trying to catch up with the position that they're already in
31:24We are different
31:26You've got to compete on a level playing field
31:28But without that investment over an extended period of time
31:31It is a real challenge
31:34We brought in 14 players
31:36And then at the same time
31:37You're trying to quickly bring new people in
31:39And get them acclimated
31:40Just needed a wee bit more sheep
31:42This is almost like a brand new team
31:45For people to get their heads around
31:47I get jittery
31:49Spending so much money
31:50We need to do it to compete
31:52But I can't let go of the old fan in me
31:54I can't
31:54I'm like, oh god
31:55What if it goes wrong?
31:57You can have great players
31:59But that doesn't necessarily mean you have a terrific team
32:01I don't know whether or not
32:03They're going to be real team players
32:04Or are they going to be players
32:06Who are looking for their own glory
32:08They just want the ball
32:08So they can try and score the ball
32:10Time will tell
32:11Time will tell
32:11But yeah, I'm nervous
32:13Time
32:16And get yourselves a drink
32:32Back at the race course
32:33To take on QPR
32:35QPR now
32:36I think what they've got
32:37Is that sort of
32:40Maverick mercurial
32:41Flair player
32:43That QPR have always had
32:44You know, they are known for having
32:46Unpredictable forwards
32:47I'm expecting the real battle
32:51Hey, Colin
32:52Let's grab a photo of the three of us here
32:54It's like that's the one you want
32:56It's like with that behind you
32:57The sun just came out
32:58This way though, right?
32:59If you go this way
33:01Thank you
33:03Do you see Millie over there?
33:05I can't tell
33:05Yeah, she's there
33:06What's up, Millie?
33:08How are you doing, Millie?
33:09How are you?
33:10Doing all right?
33:11Yeah, we're good
33:12Yeah?
33:13Georgie Evans left
33:14I know
33:15He's on my shirt as well
33:17I know
33:17Georgie's heavy
33:18I love Georgie
33:19We call him Gorgeous George
33:20How did you know that?
33:22What I do?
33:23You call him that too?
33:24I call him it too
33:25I did not know that
33:26I'm not kidding
33:27The Queen's Park Rangers match
33:30Well, for starters
33:31We spent, I don't know
33:33The GDP of all of Canada
33:35On players
33:36Hold on, guys
33:43There's so many new faces
33:46Everywhere you look
33:47Like everywhere
33:48Everywhere
33:49Nice to meet you
33:51Oh, it's the boy
33:52Oh, what are you?
33:53Oh, what are you?
33:53Oh, what are you?
33:54New cheat sheets
33:55You know, even Max Clearworth went through puberty
34:01So, I took me a minute to realize
34:04Oh, that's Max
34:09So, yeah, fascinating game
34:11There's Wrexham against QPR
34:13Both done
34:14A lot of business
34:16In the transfer window
34:17And a betting player's end
34:18And that also is intriguing, isn't it?
34:24QPR continues to look strong here
34:27And the bottom
34:28He'll scramble
34:29And Okonkwo
34:30I can't get there
34:34You know, we showed up here
34:35And we get a little bit of spanking
34:38Elkone drills a shot
34:44Um, that left a mark
34:46A red mark
34:47Just reminding you to breathe
34:49Oh, fuck, thank you
34:50Just reminding you to breathe
34:52He's got the ball with a cock
34:53He chips it
34:54Brilliant goal
34:58Is your stomach just Swiss cheese?
35:00I don't have a stomach anymore
35:01I switch to a colostomy bag
35:02It's super efficient
35:03I totally recommend
35:05And the referee
35:07Blows the whistle
35:09Frustration
35:10For Wrexham
35:12We didn't defend too well
35:14We had 20 million pounds
35:15Of players on the bench
35:16I know they say
35:17They've got to blend
35:17And team together
35:18But they could have
35:19Put at least two or three on
35:21They've been training
35:22For two weeks together maybe
35:23Yeah
35:24And I just think
35:25Parkinson
35:25Sometimes he needs to change
35:27His tactics
35:27But to lose it all
35:28We should be a fortress
35:30For us this ground
35:31Losing 3-1 to OBQPR
35:33Not much for a fairy tale
35:34Is it?
35:35So that was bad
35:36We're sitting in 21st position
35:37Right now on the table
35:38And you suddenly go from
35:40Hoping to have ambitions
35:41Of being competitive
35:42To you're hoping
35:43You don't get relegated
35:44Last season we went all in
35:46And of course we're still all in
35:48But having spent so much money
35:51Yes
35:52But also time
35:53Energy
35:54Emotional
35:57Output
35:58The question to us is
36:00Is this where we want to be?
36:02We've got one win
36:04One draw
36:06And three losses
36:07That is not where we want to be
36:14I just give my opinion
36:16You know
36:16And I'd rather you do it
36:18Oh yeah
36:19There's no filter with me whatsoever
36:24I'm just Trina the cleaner
36:25You know
36:30So I've worked for
36:31Wrexham Football Ground
36:32For about four years
36:33I think
36:33Never even been to
36:35Wrexham's Ground
36:36Until I started working here
36:37And then just fell in love
36:39With the place
36:40The people
36:40It's like having another family
36:42It's a really good place to work
36:45I've only ever been to
36:46One game here
36:47But I'm never coming again
36:49Ever
36:49Because my luck
36:5113,000 people in the stadium
36:53Who sits right next to me
36:55Only in my fucking
36:56Ex-husband
36:57Wow
36:58Couldn't write it could you
36:59In this football club
37:00I say I have no luck
37:02None whatsoever
37:03Even if I fell into a well full of cocks
37:05I'd come up sucking me thumb
37:07But no
37:08They'd have to pay me
37:09To come and watch another football game
37:11I'd rather just stay at home
37:12And watch it
37:14Worst part is definitely
37:16The public toilets
37:17When we have to do that
37:18When we've won
37:20The cups and different things like that
37:21The changing rooms
37:22How I didn't kill the boys
37:24I don't know
37:24Yeah
37:25That stuff smelled like a brewery
37:27Days after
37:28And then
37:29Ollie Palmer
37:30Throwing his lettuce everywhere
37:32We are going out
37:33And we are going out
37:35That really annoyed me
38:05I've met a lot of good players
38:06I'd say
38:07I think QPR deserved the win yesterday
38:10I think we were very slow
38:12God
38:14They were shit
38:15I gotta say it
38:17They were absolute shit
38:20But they had plenty of opportunities
38:22And it just wasn't our day
38:24Unfortunately
38:25Obviously we've got a lot of new lads
38:28That have just come together
38:29So it's going to take them a while
38:30To get used to playing against one another
38:32As well isn't it
38:33You know
38:33You've got to
38:35You've got to work it out
38:36And I'm sure Phil
38:38Parkinson will do that
38:40I just want to see them win
38:42And just show everybody in Wrexham
38:44Really that
38:44You know
38:45They actually can do this again
38:47They've just got to believe it
38:49And that's all down to Phil and his team
38:51I think Phil's an absolutely gentle
38:54Gentleman
38:56He's very kind
38:58So maybe they should just send me in
39:00To shout at them
39:01And sort them out
39:04My gob never shuts up though
39:06That's the problem
39:07Phil Bennett calls me
39:09Gobshite
39:11Yeah
39:12I'm sure Monday morning
39:13The lads will be back in
39:14And they'll be raring to go
39:28It's better than what I could wish
39:30But it's so chuffed
39:31It's amazing
39:32Everyone knows
39:34Mr. Wrexham
39:36Me and all my friends
39:38We thought it needed a tribute to him
39:40And we said we needed something permanent
39:44Then the question was
39:45Where's the poet?
39:47And Joey one place
39:48Really fitting for Joey
39:53Got together with Wayne
39:54And we raised the turtle to get all this done
39:57And I think it's perfect for Joey
39:59And hopefully he's here forever
40:01Well he always will be
40:03But yeah
40:05He's out on the pitch there
40:06Isn't he
40:07Just giving the fist wave to the fans
40:09Like he always did
40:10And full of passion
40:13Yeah
40:14I've just come to see this today
40:15Family's proud of it
40:17Just feels emotional
40:18Yeah
40:19I brought my son and my grandson
40:22Everyone's happy
40:23It's unbelievable
40:26It's nice to know
40:28Every time you're going to come in the town
40:29Now
40:29That's the first thing you're going to see
40:31Before you come in here
40:32It's just a proud, proud moment
40:35When you see all these tributes
40:37It brings it all home
40:38That he's no longer around
40:39But
40:40Just nice to know how much he was loved
40:42By everybody
40:43Really
40:49Well for the first time I've seen it
40:52It's real like Joey
40:54I think he's there on that wall
40:56And the most important thing is Mr. Wrexham
40:59Joey is Mr. Wrexham
41:00He always will be
41:01That is a magnificent tribute
41:04To someone that is
41:05Probably the greatest person
41:07That's ever walked this planet
41:08I love him
41:12Can't go anywhere in Wrexham
41:14Without being reminded of who
41:17And what we've lost
41:19But you know
41:20Losing is a part of the game
41:22Just like in life
41:23And how you deal with losing
41:25Is what defines who you are
41:30Joey Jones showed us
41:32What that looked like
41:33And his legacy lives on
41:35With every player
41:35Who puts on that Wrexham shirt
41:38And reminds everybody
41:39That the only thing you can do
41:42Is give them everything you got
41:44One, two, three
41:45Joey!
42:03One, three, three
42:04That is in Music
42:04Three, three
42:04In Music
42:04And in Music
42:04One, two, three
42:11How can you say
42:11That is in Music
42:11Alongside
42:11Two, three
