00:00Now, more Texans radio.
00:05If you're in the car right now, you're thinking, okay, where is the schedule?
00:08The schedule is coming in 45 seconds.
00:11I cannot release the schedule until 45 seconds passes by,
00:16and then we will have it for you.
00:18The 2026 Houston Texans slate of games.
00:21We know the opponents.
00:22We don't know when.
00:23We don't know what's prime time.
00:25We don't know, well, we know where.
00:27We know London for the Jags, for instance.
00:29We know what's away and what's home, but, again, when is such a key thing,
00:34and when you look at them laid out, you tend to generate maybe a different opinion
00:39than you had when you just knew the opponents
00:41and you just saw a big cluster of teams, but we're down to 10 here,
00:45and Colin's going to fire up the music to get us going
00:49as we are down to five seconds, and I'm going to give you the schedule
00:52in three, two, one.
00:55Let's go.
00:56Here we go.
00:56Houston Texans 2026.
00:59This is it.
01:00The Texans will open with the Buffalo Bills at Reliant Stadium.
01:06Regular, I don't have a noon or not here.
01:09Yeah, I've seen Sunday noon.
01:10You've seen Sunday noon.
01:11Okay.
01:12All right.
01:12That's a Sunday game, not a prime timer, because, look, CBS, they need games, too.
01:19This is a good one.
01:20Opening with Josh Allen.
01:21Week two, Bengals at home.
01:23So, in a year where you only have eight home games, you go home, home.
01:29Automatically, after that, you are a road show with nine road dates
01:34and only six more home games, but we'll get to that later.
01:37At the Colts, week three, not a prime timer.
01:41Nope.
01:42Cowboys, October 4th at Reliant Stadium.
01:45Not a prime timer.
01:46Not a prime timer.
01:47I assume that'll be a big celebration, 25th season, legends, homecoming.
01:52That's going to be awesome.
01:54Yep.
01:54Titans on the road, October 11th.
01:57I think it's safe to assume that's not a prime time game as well.
02:00Then, you go to Wembley Stadium in London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
02:05So, you'll hit the road probably Thursday night, get there Friday morning London time.
02:08We went over the routine yesterday.
02:09Play the Jags, come home, and get a bye.
02:11No, they will not take the bye after the London game, Johnny.
02:15On October 25th, they will face the New York Giants at Reliant Stadium.
02:19Then, they get the bye.
02:21Week eight bye.
02:22Week eight bye.
02:22I will say I like better than week six.
02:25I like better than week 14.
02:27I like week eight.
02:28But, how do you feel about no bye after London, though?
02:30I don't know about that.
02:31Okay, we'll talk about that.
02:32So, here it is so far.
02:34At home, Bills Bengals.
02:36Week three, at the Colts.
02:38Cowboys, at home, week four.
02:40At the Titans, week five.
02:41At the Jags in London, week six.
02:43Then, Giants at home, week seven.
02:44Then, the bye.
02:45Here we go again.
02:46Okay.
02:46Week nine, at the L.A. Chargers.
02:49So, you go on the road after the bye.
02:51That's a Sunday game.
02:52Yeah.
02:53Then, to Cleveland.
02:54So, back-to-back on the road.
02:56So, here you have, what?
02:58Four out of five on the road, but you have the bye sandwiched in there someplace, too.
03:02With a game against the Giants.
03:03Yeah.
03:03And that back-to-back thing is a theme.
03:06Okay, it's a theme.
03:07Well, because, look, you played back-to-back at home to start the season.
03:09You're going to be trapped into this.
03:10So, week nine at the Chargers.
03:12Week 10 at the Browns.
03:13Then, week 11, Thursday night at home against the Colts.
03:17So, a prime game.
03:18It'll be on an over-the-air station here.
03:20But, you're road, road, and then short week for the Horseshoe.
03:24And then, you'll go to the Ravens the following...
03:28Oh, no, you're home to the Ravens the following week.
03:30Yes, of course.
03:31You're home to the Ravens the following week.
03:34And then, it gets really dicey.
03:35As we enter the month of December.
03:39Because this will be a December to remember.
03:43Oh, man.
03:43At the Steelers, December 6th, Sunday night football on NBC.
03:49So, you've got the Steelers in prime time on the road again.
03:52This time in the regular season.
03:53But, again, late in the season.
03:55We'll see how they fare there.
03:57Then, and the Texans as well.
03:59We'll see how they're doing at that point.
04:00I mean, look, you're going to play this schedule out.
04:02We'll see how the Steelers are.
04:03Then, you go to the Commanders.
04:05So, you go back-to-back on the road again.
04:07Commanders, a regular Sunday game.
04:09Then, home to the Jaguars on December 20th.
04:12Thank goodness.
04:14But then, it gets even more interesting.
04:17Christmas Eve, Thursday night at Philadelphia.
04:21Christmas Eve at the Eagles, Johnny.
04:24Just saying it.
04:26I know my wife is in Miami now on work.
04:28I know she's hearing that going, what the hell?
04:31Yes, exactly.
04:32Christmas Eve night?
04:32Here's the good news.
04:33You'll be home in time for Christmas morning.
04:35That's correct.
04:36That is true.
04:36Not exactly fresh as roses.
04:38But, hopefully, coming off a thrilling victory over the Eagles on Christmas Eve in front
04:42of, can you imagine the alcohol being served and consumed on Christmas Eve in Philadelphia?
04:47Man, are you kidding me?
04:48Oh, my gosh.
04:49Wow.
04:49All right.
04:50So, then you get the mini-bye because it's a Thursday night game.
04:52Yeah.
04:52And, you get to stretch it all the way to the following Monday.
04:56But, it's at Green Bay, Monday night football.
05:00So, you're going back-to-back.
05:01Eagles on Christmas Eve, primetime.
05:05Then, Monday night football at Green Bay on January 4th.
05:10There is no chance it's any warmer than 10 degrees that night.
05:14You people out there pray for me.
05:16This is not a John Harris schedule.
05:18That's their first concern, Johnny.
05:20This is not a John Harris schedule.
05:21This is the anti-Harris schedule, for sure.
05:25Then, week 18, you wrap it up at home, in the regular season, that is, against the Tennessee
05:30Titans.
05:31So, the division.
05:33Jags and Titans at home, two of the last four games.
05:37But, they sandwich at Philly and at Green Bay.
05:41Ouch.
05:42All right.
05:42So, let's get to the thoughts here.
05:44I laid it out for you.
05:45Again, since the bye, at Chargers, at Browns, Colts on a Thursday at home, Ravens at home,
05:50at the Steelers Sunday Night Football, at the Commanders, Jags at home, and then Christmas
05:56Eve short week at Philly.
05:58Then, Monday Night Football the following week at Green Bay, January 4th.
06:02And then, the Titans to wrap it up.
06:04Final weekend.
06:05We don't know when that one is, because they don't tell us.
06:07All right.
06:07That's it for the music, Colin.
06:09Let's talk, Johnny.
06:10Because, playing those first two at home, and they are doozies.
06:14You get Joe Burrow, week two, presumably healthy.
06:17I mean, this is healthy Joe you're probably getting here, week two.
06:20Well, you get Josh Allen right out of the chute.
06:22Now, Josh has struggled.
06:24Josh gets this team at Reliant Stadium.
06:26He has.
06:27He has.
06:28But, it's week one.
06:29These are thrillers to start the season.
06:32I mean, get your tickets now, HoustonTexans.com, if you don't have them already, if there are
06:36any left, my goodness, you want to be in your seats for these two humdingers.
06:41There are two things that really, really stood out to me.
06:45Number one is the fact that we are done with road division games when we come back from
06:52Wembley.
06:53So, we'll be flying back from Wembley late on October 18th.
06:57We will have played every division game prior to that.
07:00I don't think that's ever happened.
07:02So, we get three.
07:03Week three Colts at Colts.
07:05Week five at Titans.
07:07Week six at Jags.
07:09But, that ends up obviously being London.
07:10We're done with road division games at that point.
07:13Now, we have been pretty successful in the past road division games.
07:15But, they're all done by week six.
07:18This is the big one to me that stood out.
07:20And, I texted you this morning, you know, just thinking about this.
07:24The back-to-back road situations.
07:26We play nine road games.
07:30We have four back-to-back road situations.
07:34We have weeks five and six, Titans-Jags.
07:38We have weeks nine and ten out of the bye at Chargers, at Browns.
07:42Weeks 13, 14 at Steelers, at Commanders.
07:46And then, we've got the gauntlet of Philly and Green Bay, weeks 16 and 17.
07:51We have four back-to-back road situations, which is just mind-boggling.
08:00Now, we do start the season three out of four at home with Bills, Bengals,
08:05road Colts, home Cowboys.
08:06But, it's not like this is easy-peasy, right?
08:09No.
08:09These are tough teams.
08:11If Daniel Jones is healthy and the Colts are anywhere similar to what they were
08:15early last season, brutal game to go to the horseshoe.
08:17I mean, show me an easy NFL schedule.
08:20No, there's no such thing.
08:21There is no such thing, especially the Texans.
08:22They're playing a second-place schedule, so that means you do play the Bills.
08:25You do play the Chargers, and you do end up playing the Packers.
08:29You're going to play those three teams.
08:30That is not a gift.
08:31No.
08:32The second-place schedule stinks in this case.
08:34I mean, the Jaguars are playing the Broncos.
08:38Right.
08:39Not going to be easy, but they've got to go to Denver to play the Broncos.
08:41They're going to play the Bears in Chicago, which, if the Bears take another step
08:47like you think they're going to, well, okay.
08:49I'm not sure of the Broncos, but I'll take your word for it.
08:51And then they end up playing the Chargers, Bills, Broncos, and they play – oh, they
08:57play the Patriots.
08:59So, that's not – I mean, that's what the Jags have to do for winning the division.
09:03Now, I think I'd rather play those three teams than the Texans have got to play.
09:06But that said, it's an NFL schedule.
09:08You're going to have to deal with it.
09:10It's the way it goes.
09:11Okay, primetime games.
09:12Yeah.
09:13Don't play a – what you would call a primetime game.
09:16We have an open – have a lone standalone window with the Jags.
09:21That starts in week six.
09:22Yeah.
09:22But then, week 11, Thursday night.
09:26Yep.
09:26Week 13, Sunday night.
09:29Week 16, Thursday night.
09:31Week 17, Monday night.
09:33So, you get a Sunday, a Monday.
09:37Only one Monday, right?
09:38Only one Monday.
09:39And two Thursdays.
09:41Two Thursdays.
09:41So, you've got to deal with two short weeks.
09:43We were just talking about that before the break.
09:44Sometimes teams lately have two short week games.
09:47Now, the Cowboys are definitely – I don't even have to look at their schedule.
09:50I can tell you they're getting at least two because they get Thanksgiving and they'll
09:54put them on another Amazon Prime game because Amazon Prime will demand that the Cowboys
09:58appear at least once.
09:59So, they'll get that.
10:00Now, last year, I think they did the one where it was either the week before or after Thanksgiving
10:04when they went Thursday, Thursday.
10:05So, that's a full week in between Thursday nights.
10:08So, that's kind of a fair way to do it.
10:10But, as I said before the break also, we can't complain about this schedule fully until we
10:15see everybody else's schedule.
10:16Okay.
10:16Well, you want to hear a schedule?
10:18Yeah.
10:19Okay.
10:19Give me a schedule.
10:20You want the Jags?
10:21Give me the Jags.
10:22Just give me some highlights.
10:23Okay.
10:23So, the Jags, they get Browns at home.
10:27That sucks.
10:28But then they go to Denver.
10:29Then they get the Patriots at home.
10:31Then they've got to go to Cincinnati.
10:33So, they go at Denver.
10:35Then they get Drake May at home.
10:37And then they've got to face Joe Burrow before they go to London.
10:40And then get Eagles-Texans back-to-back.
10:43Ooh.
10:44So, then they come out of that.
10:45They take the bye after the Texans game.
10:47They took the bye.
10:48They took the bye.
10:49They took the bye.
10:50Then they go Indianapolis at home.
10:54Then at Baltimore, at Titans, at Giants.
11:00Three in a row on the road.
11:03Jeez.
11:03Then they finish December.
11:05How about this?
11:05They finish December.
11:06Now, they play Sunday, December 20th against us.
11:10Then they, the following week, play Dallas on Sunday night.
11:14They go back home for the Commanders.
11:16They finish at Indianapolis.
11:17They finish with three of four on the road.
11:20Tough schedule for them.
11:21So, they've got three in a row on the road the middle of the season.
11:24They got three out of four on the road to finish the season.
11:26That's the defending AFC South champion schedule for you.
11:30Now, as far as the Colts go, they'll open with the Ravens.
11:33They'll go to Kansas City.
11:34I kind of like that.
11:35Tenderize them a bit before they host the Texans week three.
11:38Then it's at Washington, at Pittsburgh, because they always have the same ats in the NFC division
11:43as the Texans.
11:45Titans at home.
11:46At Minnesota, could be tough.
11:48At Jacksonville.
11:49Against the Cowboys at home for the Colts, they get Miami at home.
11:54That was their lucky break right there.
11:55They're Miami in a total rebuild.
11:58Then they come to the Texans for the Thursday nighter.
12:00They have the Giants at home.
12:01They're at Philly.
12:02Week 14.
12:04Week 15 at Tennessee.
12:05That stinks.
12:06Bengals at home.
12:07Week 16 for the Colts.
12:09You know, who knows what the Bengals look like by then.
12:12Maybe Joe Burrow is like two years ago just firing touchdown passes to T.
12:16Higgins and Jamar Chase on a really frequent basis.
12:20Oh my gosh, the Colts.
12:22Get this.
12:23Week 15 at Tennessee.
12:25Bengals week 16 at home.
12:26At Cleveland week 17.
12:29Jacksonville week 18.
12:30That ain't a bad closing kick right there.
12:33No, it definitely is not.
12:34But Mark, start Ravens at home.
12:38Then Sunday night at Kansas City.
12:40Yeah, and Kansas City.
12:41Before we come to town.
12:42Those are your first three games.
12:43Yeah, Kansas City is going to be tough.
12:45I mean, come on.
12:45It's Kansas City.
12:47I know they had a down year.
12:48I don't expect them to be terrible.
12:51Come on.
12:51Come on, Pat.
12:52It's Kansas City.
12:52Get yourself ready.
12:53Yeah, beat the Colts.
12:54Anyway, you got to beat the Colts.
12:57Immediately what jumps out to me is we were wishing, hoping,
13:02that you'd burn some of these northern east coast games earlier in the season.
13:09September, October, burn them up.
13:11Burn up Philly.
13:12Burn up Green Bay maybe.
13:14We didn't get that at all.
13:15None of that.
13:16None of it.
13:16Because once you enter December, you have four of those games.
13:22Four of those games after December 5th.
13:26So December 6th, Steelers Sunday night.
13:28You got the Eagles on Christmas Eve.
13:30You got the Packers on January 4th.
13:32You have the Commanders on December 13th.
13:35And you know what?
13:36Even Cleveland is November 15th, which could be no picnic.
13:40But you can't complain about cold weather.
13:42And here's the other thing about prime time and where it falls
13:45and these tough schedules.
13:46I've always said this.
13:47If you're going to be a good team, you're going to be on in prime time.
13:50You're going to have a ridiculous schedule as far as routine, breaking,
13:54and unusual circumstances.
13:56The good teams deal with this stuff all the time.
13:59You're going to have to learn to deal with it because you're a good team.
14:01You want to ask a couple of things, a couple of just weird, quirky things
14:04that I thought about.
14:05Number one, to your point about, you know, playing, play schedule that's in front of you.
14:11I mean, it's what it is.
14:13It's going to be tough.
14:14How about the fact that we play only one time on outside in the U.S.
14:22before the bye?
14:24Outdoors, you mean?
14:25Outdoors.
14:26Bills, home.
14:27Bengals, home.
14:28At Colts.
14:30Cowboys, home.
14:31Tennessee.
14:32Yep.
14:34Jaguars, obviously, across the pond in the Giants.
14:36Yep.
14:37We play outside in the U.S. once, and that's Tennessee.
14:39Oh, this is the other thing I was going to say.
14:42The last five years.
14:43Right.
14:44What's the coldest game that we played in those five years?
14:48Kansas City?
14:50Which one?
14:51Which game was delayed?
14:53Oh, it was the Titans game on Christmas Eve, or was that Christmas Eve?
14:56No, it was Christmas Eve.
14:57Got delayed an hour.
14:58Remember that?
14:59Because it was flipping cold.
15:01It was really freaking cold.
15:04It was the coldest game that I had been down on the sidelines for.
15:07Okay.
15:08Take them all, all of them.
15:09That was the coldest game I can remember.
15:11But it was really cold for Nashville, and they had power problems, right?
15:15Yes, and that was the reason.
15:16They had a grid problem.
15:17Right.
15:17But I don't think it was really cold for Green Bay.
15:19No, no, no, no, no.
15:20It was really cold.
15:21It was cold.
15:22It was like single-digit cold.
15:23It was – you and Dre have the damn heater up there.
15:26Yeah, I know.
15:27I do not.
15:28I was cold.
15:29I was –
15:29So my point seeing Tennessee in October, I'm okay with it.
15:33Now –
15:34I was speaking to Klein Kubiak in the press box because he was scouting for the Cowboys
15:39during that long delay.
15:40And Sean and Seth held the pregame show for like 30, 45, I don't know,
15:46maybe an hour and a half longer.
15:48So we were in a massive delay.
15:49But we got the game in.
15:50Yeah.
15:51I just remember showing up, and nothing was set up for an NFL game.
15:53And I thought, you know, there's usually more stuff around the bench for an NFL outing.
15:58Usually.
15:58Usually.
15:58I don't think we can go without that stuff.
16:01You know, all that electronic equipment and medical stuff that they have.
16:05Anyway, I'm looking forward to all of it.
16:08Always.
16:09Cold-weather game.
16:10Warm-weather game.
16:11You got to get used to it.
16:12Now, what you pointed out about not being outside early, it does stick with me because,
16:17man, we could play these outside.
16:20I know.
16:20Want to go to Indy late in the season.
16:22Yes, I know.
16:23I know.
16:24But it's all right.
16:24It's all right.
16:25You know, the Texans have played better in cold weather.
16:27You beat Pittsburgh in cold weather in the playoffs in prime time.
16:30You beat Kansas City on a Sunday night.
16:32It was cold.
16:33And the year before, you had to deal with cold-weather elements when you played at Kansas City.
16:38And, you know, you're used to it.
16:40That's a strong way to put it.
16:42You're more used to it than you've ever been.
16:45Teams change year to year.
16:46But these guys have been through it.
16:47I don't think it's going to affect them.
16:49I know D'Amico's going to hate having to answer a ton of questions about weather.
16:52He's going to dismiss that very quickly and say, what?
16:56What?
16:56So what?
16:57It's cold.
16:57Look, if we were Buffalo and you present the same schedule, you'd say, yeah, so what?
17:02We're going to Green Bay.
17:02Big deal.
17:03It's just like home.
17:03You've got to start preparing for what you might face in the playoffs.
17:07I mean, listen, you can have a bad weather situation in Cleveland in the middle of November
17:12where you're playing them.
17:14Now, you won't in L.A., but then you go from L.A. to Cleveland.
17:17I mean, you could have a bad situation in Cleveland.
17:19You could have a bad situation in Washington.
17:21You know, Pittsburgh might not be that bad.
17:23You've got to play it out.
17:24There was one year, Mark, and I can't remember which year it was.
17:27Maybe, I can't remember what it was.
17:29But there was one year and I was like, oh, man, we've got some games that we've got to be
17:33careful of
17:35because we get them in November or December.
17:37It's going to be tough.
17:38And it ended up not being all that bad.
17:40Right.
17:40Because you don't know what the teams are going to look like when you get to them on the schedule.
17:44The Ravens last year, for instance, that looked really daunting on the schedule.
17:47And then you caught a big break because everybody was hurt.
17:49You won.
17:50You were 2-3 heading into a very early bye.
17:54And, look, it wasn't ideal being 2-3.
17:56But at the time, it felt like a massive win to be 2-3 going to Seattle.
18:00You lost that game 2-4.
18:02You were 2-4 last year and had a tie for the most wins ever in franchise history because you
18:09won 12.
18:10You don't know how this is going to play out.
18:12You can go 2-2 to start this season.
18:14And you'll be saying, oh, my gosh, where are they headed?
18:17And then who knows?
18:18Did anybody expect us to go 0-3 last year?
18:20Hell no.
18:21When we sat here a year ago, we looked at it and went, okay, look, the Rams are going to
18:24be tough on the road.
18:25I didn't expect 12-5 either.
18:26Yeah, exactly.
18:27I expected neither one.
18:28I thought 11-6.
18:29I thought that was – I mean, 12-5 was just – holy crap.
18:32I think that would be – if you offered me that right now, here we are.
18:36It's scheduled day.
18:3611-6?
18:37Yeah.
18:37I am not going to play that game officially until we get to summer.
18:42You know, let's make a football deal with Monty Hall.
18:44You don't want to play just yet.
18:45Yeah.
18:46And Wade, Wayne Brady.
18:50But it's May 14th.
18:53If you said, will you take 11-6 right now?
18:56Hell yeah, I'll take 11-6.
18:57Hell yeah, I'll take 11-6.
18:58I'll take it all day long.
18:59Now, I might change my mind later when I see the team in camp.
19:02I think, all right, you know what?
19:03They could win 14.
19:04I don't know.
19:05The Jaguars are not the only team that have that three road game trip.
19:10How about this?
19:12So, the Ravens are just clicking on some teams that I – in the AFC that you kind of concern
19:18yourself with.
19:19So, they go on a Sunday afternoon to Buffalo.
19:23Then they come back home on a Thursday night and they play the Jaguars.
19:27But then, after the Jaguars game, they go at Carolina, at Texans, at Steelers.
19:34So, they go four out of five weeks on the road, including the last three on the road.
19:40Then they get Browns at home at Cincinnati.
19:42So, they go one, four, five.
19:44Five out of seven weeks there on the road.
19:48You know, I know it's tough to be on the road because of the crowd and whatever else.
19:54But the environments that these teams are able to create on the road now where –
20:00and we interviewed assistant athletic trainer, senior assistant athletic trainer Megan O'Hanlon yesterday.
20:05We were talking to her about this stuff.
20:07We talked to Lad Harris about this stuff, who's director of football wellness for the team.
20:12They try to create a great road environment for them in the hotel, just the travel circumstances.
20:18So, they feel as comfortable as possible in a hostile environment.
20:22And I think there's one way to shut up that environment, and that's to play well, especially early in a
20:27game.
20:28Try to take the crowd out of it, as they say.
20:31All right.
20:31I'm looking at this.
20:32I know a lot of people are just jumping in the car like, oh, what's the schedule?
20:36Or, I got my phone out, but I'm in traffic.
20:38All right.
20:38Let's take it in quarters here because it's not really quarters.
20:41It's quarters plus one.
20:43So, we'll do quarters plus one.
20:44First four.
20:45Bills and Bengals at home, weeks one and two, Nooners.
20:48Very tough.
20:50Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and friends coming here to Reliance Stadium.
20:54Let's get ready to rock.
20:56Then, at the Colts, week three, noon game against the Horseshoe.
21:00Cowboys at home, week four, noon game.
21:03That's a tough stretch right there to start your season.
21:06That's what it is.
21:07Buckle up.
21:08Get ready.
21:09I mean, each one of those games is an event unto itself.
21:12But, for the first time in the D'Amico Ryan's era, we will start the season at home.
21:17At home.
21:18It's true.
21:19And, for the 25th time in franchise history, you will not open with the Tennessee Titans.
21:24They have never opened with Tennessee.
21:26Really?
21:27They're closing with the Titans, and they have closed with them several times.
21:30But, they have never opened against the Tennessee Titans.
21:32All right.
21:33Second quarter.
21:332016, we've finished.
21:35Yeah, yeah.
21:36Don't get into that, Brock.
21:37Okay.
21:38At Tennessee, this is the second quarter.
21:40For the team, Brock.
21:41It's four quarters plus one.
21:43At Tennessee, against the Jags at Wembley.
21:46Can't even call that a road game, really, as far as the fans go.
21:49It's just a neutral site.
21:50You're going a far distance to play it.
21:53Right.
21:53Then, the Giants at home.
21:54They will not take the bye after the road tilt with the Jaguars.
21:59I said my kind of piece on that.
22:01What are your thoughts about that?
22:03I want to talk to D'Amico about it, because I'm wondering if they say, all right, we won't
22:08take the bye.
22:09We don't want the bye right there.
22:10We'll come home and play, as long as we're at home.
22:12So, they do that.
22:13Yeah.
22:15But, did they know the bye was coming week eight, or are you in a bye roulette situation
22:20at that point, where they just say, all right, your bye happens to fall week eight, or what
22:24if it fell really late again, like it did two years ago, which you didn't like at all?
22:27That was terrible.
22:28Or maybe they had a choice.
22:28I don't know.
22:29But, they'll play the Giants after the Jags, week eight bye.
22:32As far as, forget about the Jags situation, week eight's not so bad.
22:36Anytime between 8 and 11 to have your bye, that's pretty good.
22:38I like that.
22:38All right.
22:39Then, you come out of the bye at the Chargers, obviously a Sunday afternoon, central time
22:44game.
22:45At the Browns after that.
22:46That's a noon game at Cleveland.
22:49Okay, here we go.
22:50Is that going to be you-know-who played quarterback for them against this?
22:53Oh, boy.
22:53That's a great question.
22:54It's going to be interesting.
22:55There's going to be a lot of drama around that.
22:57I'll tell you this.
22:58If he is, then the Browns are going to be pretty salty.
23:02If he is starting at that point in the year, then I got a feeling the Browns are pretty good.
23:05Oh, because he's playing well.
23:06The only way he's still starting is if he's playing well.
23:08That is right.
23:09Or it could be like two years ago when he was kind of slogging along going like 10 of
23:1217 for 170 yards.
23:14If he's starting in that game where we play him, when we play them, then they're playing
23:19pretty well.
23:20We'll see.
23:21You could be right.
23:21That's my prediction.
23:22That's my bold prediction tonight.
23:23I think that's a pretty good one.
23:25Yeah, thank you.
23:25You come back from Cleveland against the Colts on a Thursday night at Reliance Stadium.
23:31How many times have we played the Colts on Thursday night?
23:34It's been a bunch because 2019, 2014, 2011 there.
23:402015?
23:41Those are ones that pop out to me.
23:452015 with Hasselbeck and a Diaper.
23:46Hasselbeck and a Diaper was a Thursday night game.
23:48Very good, Johnny.
23:49Then you play the Ravens at home after the mini-bye against the Colts.
23:53That's good, Johnny.
23:53Finally, bye at the Chargers, at the Browns, Colts Thursday, mini-bye.
23:57Yep.
23:57Okay, I'll take it.
23:58Ravens at home at the Steelers Sunday night, December 6th.
24:01You enter the gauntlet of December.
24:03We're going to be talking about this.
24:05Sunday night football, December 6th.
24:07At the Commanders a week later.
24:08What were you going to say?
24:09Do you think we're going to stay over?
24:11You know, it's Sunday night.
24:13Somebody in the building, and not in football ops, was hypothesizing, all right, you play
24:17the Steelers on Sunday.
24:18You have the Commanders the next week.
24:19Would you go to Pitt or something like that?
24:22Greenbrier.
24:23Are they done?
24:23The Greenbrier.
24:24You fly to the Greenbrier in December, you can't practice indoors at the Greenbrier.
24:29Oh, that's true.
24:30You need an indoor facility.
24:32What if you're on the East Coast?
24:32What if you're West Virginia and there's a foot of snow?
24:34You're going to feel pretty stupid that you didn't go home.
24:37That's true.
24:37So, I think if you could have access to an indoor facility, a college team that might
24:42be done at that point, it's December 6th after all.
24:44Maybe you do it, but you've got to know they're going to be done.
24:47That's true.
24:48All right.
24:48At the Commanders, December 13th.
24:50Then you come home to face the Jags, December 20th.
24:53And then, in a short week, Merry Christmas Eve at the Eagles.
24:58Get ready.
25:00Get ready.
25:01Oh, my gosh.
25:02The breathalyzers are going to be pumping Christmas Eve outside the new vet.
25:08We don't call it that.
25:09It's the link.
25:09It's whatever it is.
25:10Yeah.
25:10Santa Claus getting booed at the link.
25:12Yes.
25:13Batteries thrown.
25:13That's old school.
25:14Everything.
25:15Yep.
25:15And then you get a mini buy in Monday Night Football at Green Bay on January 4th.
25:22Wow.
25:23January 4th at Green Bay Monday Night Football.
25:26That's going to be a war.
25:27And that is going to be nice and chilly.
25:30Bring the space heater, Dre.
25:31And then, week 18, Titans at home to wrap it up.
25:36And hopefully, they're terrible.
25:37You might need that one badly for certain things.
25:39So, let's hope you can get it.
25:41Green Bay week 17.
25:42I got a text from my mom a little while ago.
25:44Can I get tickets?
25:45No, no.
25:46She's like, do you have warm enough clothes?
25:49Yeah.
25:49I'm like, not really.
25:50After last year, don't you have good gear?
25:53I've got gear.
25:53Okay.
25:54I figured you do.
25:55I'm fine.
25:55I've got plenty of things.
25:57But Darwin can always help me out.
25:58All right.
25:58We've got about a minute left.
25:59Final take.
26:00Like, I just, those back-to-backers are the ones, man.
26:03They get me.
26:04But, you know, it's funny.
26:05As we kind of kept going through the schedule, I kept thinking, like, eh.
26:09And I think part of it is, too, we saw the other schedules.
26:11Yeah.
26:11And realizing that other teams have schedules that are just as tough as the one we're going
26:15to face.
26:16Everybody's got it tough.
26:17You know what?
26:17You're a good team.
26:18You have these marquee games.
26:20You have prime time.
26:21You have awesome home noon games like the Bills and the Bengals.
26:24The home slate is fantastic.
26:27Enjoy it.
26:27It's your football team embarking on a tremendous campaign.
26:31Let's hope for the very best.
26:32Stay healthy.
26:34OTAs will be out there next week.
26:36We've got a full show for you tomorrow, by the way.
26:38Full show.
26:38We'll talk more about this and everything else on your mind regarding the Houston Texans.
26:42Can't wait for it all.
26:43Thanks so much for listening.
26:44Thank you, Colin, for producing.
26:46This show will be in podcast form soon enough.
26:48Go to HoustonTexans.com for the schedule vid and all the cool videos related to schedule
26:53release.
26:53Have a great night.
26:54Area 45 is coming up next.
26:56Go Texans!
26:57This is Texans Radio on Sports Radio 610.
27:02Hey, Texans fans.
27:35See you next week.
31:57All of the leakages have taken place, and so you know what the hell the Texans are doing
32:02and when the hell they're doing it and who they're doing it against.
32:05So good night, everybody.
32:08He was Patrick Creighton.
32:09I'm Sean Bajani calling the game.
32:10Appreciate you, man.
32:11We're going to go home.
32:12No.
32:13We get to talk about it.
32:14Get out!
32:14Get out!
32:15We get to talk about the games now.
32:17Please don't.
32:17Please don't make me do this show alone.
32:19That'll be fun.
32:19Hey, that would be really, really fun.
32:21Would it not?
32:22No, we're glad you're here.
32:23No, we're glad we're here, and we've got a lot of football to talk about.
32:29And if we so choose, maybe at some point in time, we'll talk a little Astros baseball and how they
32:33were ass again today.
32:36That'll happen at some point in time.
32:38We do actually have to set the record straight on the messaging that is continuing to be put out by
32:43the Astros.
32:45We'll do that at the top of the hour, 8 o'clock.
32:47I will say book that segment because things need to be addressed, will be addressed in a very harsh manner.
32:55So we'll get to all of that.
32:57I'm Sean Bajani.
32:58He is Patrick Creighton.
32:59Colin, the game is here.
33:00We got you until 11 o'clock this evening.
33:02Hi, Colin, the game.
33:03Kick his ass, Seabass.
33:06Time to play the game.
33:12Time to play the game.
33:18All right, let's go.
33:20If you would like to be a part of this very fine radio program, you can call or text 713
33:26-572-4610.
33:285-7-2-4-6-10.
33:30Colin will answer the phone and tell you hello.
33:32And if you text him, he will text you back and say, the guys will be with you shortly.
33:38Just wait longer.
33:39Funnily enough, I don't have access.
33:41I need to get access to that.
33:42You don't have access to the text line?
33:44No, I don't.
33:44I need to.
33:45I keep forgetting about that.
33:46I will say, though, you can also message us on the YouTube stream on Twitch as well, Sports Radio 610.
33:54And have a take.
33:56Don't suck.
33:57Stay on topic.
33:59Stay on topic.
34:00Yeah, that's number one, really.
34:01We're almost there.
34:03Stay on topic.
34:04You're getting too close.
34:06Stay on topic.
34:07We'll squirrel.
34:08No squirrel moments from you, okay?
34:11We'll do the pick-ems later.
34:13We do these usually like twice a year before football season.
34:16We'll do them at the schedule release, and we do them before the actual regular season begins.
34:20We always do one where I give like a real pick-em, and then we do one where I do
34:28an in-character pick-em.
34:29Well, the in-character pick-em, I mean, spoiler alert, 17-0.
34:34It was 16-1.
34:37I don't even think.
34:38I just turn around and go, not ass!
34:40I don't even think you remember your own BS, sir.
34:43We're going 17-0.
34:45We're beating everyone by three scores.
34:46We're winning the Superba.
34:48Why the hell would I remember my own lies?
34:51I just told you.
34:52It's 17-0.
34:54Pick something different this year.
34:55I know I picked them to lose the last game of the year because they weren't going to need to
34:58play it.
34:59Oh, because, well, they weren't going to go, you know, 17-0.
35:02That's why.
35:02You're like, oh, crap.
35:04Have I said not ass, really, 17 times in a row, potentially?
35:08Yes, you actually did.
35:09And everybody enjoyed that.
35:11The hockey button would be firing.
35:14Be on fire.
35:15We all had a good time.
35:16I just yelled not ass to every game.
35:18I know.
35:19Well, that was like in its early onset.
35:20So it was a lot more fun to say it then in different ways.
35:23It's still kind of fun, too.
35:25You can say it as well with us if you think we're ass or not ass.
35:29Just go ahead and call in.
35:30Just like John McClane does.
35:31Not ass.
35:31He calls in sometimes and just says, hey, not ass.
35:34Not ass.
35:34Not ass.
35:35Or he'll say ass when he doesn't like something that we say, which is very infrequent, to be honest with
35:43you.
35:44So the release is done.
35:47In terms of things that stand out, PC, I'm sure we all have our own.
35:54I have a list of five things that stand out to me, and maybe they're similar, maybe they're not.
36:00The number one thing I noticed in the schedule release for the Texans was the bye week.
36:06Week eight.
36:07Week eight bye.
36:08This is good because if you think the Texans schedule is hard, it's easy, whatever, get that bye week in
36:18the middle of the season.
36:18And I'm happy just in that regard.
36:21So that's what it is.
36:21It's actually perfect.
36:24Challenging start to the season, I would say.
36:27You've got Bills, Bengals, Colts, Cowboys.
36:31First four weeks.
36:33Right out the chute.
36:35Sorry, Colts.
36:36I mean, the Colts might be a pain in the ass if Daniel Aloysius Jones is playing football at the
36:41clip that he was to start the season last year.
36:44But Bills, Bengals, and Cowboys, those are going to be fun, man.
36:50Challenging, but fun.
36:52The other thing for me was the end of the season.
36:57And I heard the tail end of this the other day on Payne and Pendergast, but Sean was talking about,
37:03like, his wishes for the Texans season, like, in accordance with the schedule.
37:09And I think one of the things was, and I blame him.
37:12Pendergast and Payne.
37:13I mean, all of you blame him for jinxing this.
37:16He was talking about how he doesn't want, like, there to be a whole bunch of cold weather games.
37:20You know, like, some of these cold weather cities, maybe they'll be scheduled, you know, in a different portion of
37:26the year where it's not potentially, like, 10, 15, 20 degrees or maybe zero in some of these places.
37:33That's the thing, man.
37:34What is it?
37:35Week 14 through 17, you're at Commanders, home for the Jags, at Eagles, at Packers.
37:44Three cold games, potentially.
37:46I told Colin to do some homework, PC, but I don't know that he did it.
37:49I said, hey, look up, like, historically how cold it is on those particular days in which the Texans play.
37:56Listen, you don't need to do any research to see what the cold games are, per se.
38:01Why?
38:01What do you mean?
38:03It could be an unseasonably warm day in Washington whenever the Texans play the Commanders.
38:09It could be an unseasonably...
38:10When are they playing Washington?
38:12I don't know, week 14.
38:13I don't have the days in front of me right now.
38:14It's going to be cold as...
38:15Washington is week 14.
38:17Yeah, but day, sir.
38:19Day.
38:19It's a day game.
38:21Week 14, the actual date is Sunday, December 13th.
38:26It's going to be cold.
38:27And it's a nooner.
38:28Okay.
38:28It's going to be cold.
38:30High sun.
38:31Sun will be up, all right?
38:33Shining down on the stadium.
38:35Yeah, that's not going to be that crazy.
38:36I mean, listen, it could be overcast and there'd be no sun.
38:39Yeah, it could be.
38:40This is why I told you to look up the weather history, man.
38:42I will look it up.
38:43Don't do that.
38:44Don't waste your time.
38:44Nobody cares.
38:47I kind of care.
38:47I'm just going to care, to be honest with you.
38:49Is this like a regular thing now?
38:51Do all NFL teams have to go through this?
38:53Kind of like basically now everybody's got to play in an international game?
38:58The other thing that I looked at was you've got another gauntlet.
39:00And I feel like, has this been three years in a row?
39:02Didn't the Texans do this last year?
39:04And they had the really bad one against some killer opponents.
39:07Wasn't it Chiefs, Ravens, and Dolphins two years ago?
39:11Yes.
39:12They've got three games in 12 days, just like then.
39:15And I think they had one last year, but the quality of opponent wasn't that crazy.
39:19What do you think about Jags, Eagles, Packers?
39:22Does that do anything for you?
39:23That's one home game and two road games.
39:25That sucks.
39:25Yeah, but those are three very solid teams.
39:28Yeah, yeah, no, that's true.
39:30I mean, who knows what the Jags are going to look like at that point?
39:32And who knows if the Eagles, you know, with all the drama that they always got going on over there,
39:37what they look like by Week 16.
39:39Packers, it's just they're both going to be back-to-back cold weather games potentially
39:45on the road nonetheless.
39:46And Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve at Eagles.
39:50Now, would the wife prefer you – well, that's a dumb question because it's an away game.
39:58I'm sure the wife is glad this is not a home game for you, PC.
40:02Christmas Eve at Reliant Stadium.
40:05Leaving her with the doggies and cooking all the good food, probably not a good idea.
40:10So you don't have to worry about that.
40:11That's a prime game.
40:14Like, as in Amazon Prime?
40:16Yes.
40:16Yeah, well, wow, that's not bad.
40:18Now, I pirate that, so it's all good.
40:21Speaking of prime, primetime games.
40:23That was the other thing.
40:24You got the London game against the Jags Week 6.
40:28You've got Thursday night football Week 11 against the Colts.
40:32You've got Sunday night football Week 13 at the Steelers.
40:37Week 16, more Thursday night football, if you need that in your life, against the Eagles.
40:41And then Week 17, a Monday nighter in Green Bay.
40:46That's going to be fun.
40:47Monday night, Green Bay, cold.
40:49Yeah, but that Christmas Eve game against the Eagles is – ugh.
40:53Yeah, I mean –
40:53That's going to be brutal.
40:54At least you'll have – you know, you're going Thursday night to Monday night,
40:57so it's a long – it's like a week and a half.
40:59Yeah, it's like a mini-bye.
41:01Yeah, agree.
41:02Yeah.
41:03Look, to me, this does not say seventh easiest schedule in the NFL.
41:10And it's not just because of the actual schedule and the way the games break down.
41:15It's the way these teams have been constructed via free agency and via the draft.
41:20You're playing – the Texans are, at least in accordance to the projections of Mike Clay the other day on
41:26ESPN.
41:27You're playing seven teams that he's forecasting to win double-digit games this season.
41:31Yeah, and look, the thing is, for example, the Eagles game.
41:37Never know how things are going to be for both sides when it comes to that point.
41:41Heck, Sirianni might be fired by the time we get there.
41:45Damn, hot take from Colin.
41:46Nick Sirianni on the hot seat already.
41:50That's a discussion for another day.
41:53Mm-hmm.
41:54I mean, it could happen.
41:56It's Philadelphia.
41:57Didn't they start kind of decomposing towards the middle portion of the season last year
42:03and just kind of hang it on by the hair on their chinny-chin-chin towards the end?
42:08Nobody really believed in them, right?
42:10But the thing is, wasn't that strength of schedule that came out mostly based on the team's winning percentages from
42:18last year?
42:18Not mostly, but all based on.
42:20That's why I say, like, okay.
42:21Okay, I didn't know if there was, like, some other analytics put into it.
42:24No, that was my whole point is there should be.
42:27Yeah.
42:28You know, don't leave it to us to do that.
42:31I don't want to look at 17 different opponents, you know, drafts and free agencies and having to grade that.
42:38No, somebody that gets paid a lot more money at the DisneySports.com place, they can do that.
42:44So, I entrusted the projection via Mike Clay, who literally did that, and still came up with some really wild
42:52and wonky numbers, man.
42:54I don't know.
42:55So, all that to say, like, you know the schedule.
42:57It's out there.
42:59What do you think now about the strength of it?
43:03Like, does this excite you because of what?
43:08It's a little easier than you thought, or does this intimidate you a bit that it's a little more difficult
43:14than you thought?
43:15Or are you like me?
