00:00Okay, okay. Yay, yay, yay, yay. Is that your face? Is that your...
00:06Oh, yeah. Wide eyes, fist pump going to the beat, obviously.
00:10A little sandstorm never hurt anybody.
00:14Oh, hell. Reaction Monday.
00:17And everybody on YouTube and Twitch can react to that.
00:21Coming up behind us, the return. It's back.
00:25Texans All Access returns back to us.
00:28They will look at last night's Super Bowl.
00:30Guess what? Through Texans Lens.
00:33What are they going to do, baby?
00:35They got you covered.
00:37Mark Vandermeer, John Harris coming up right behind us.
00:40And then someone texted in earlier and said,
00:42So, do we have Area 45 at 6 tonight?
00:46No, but got them at 7, though.
00:49Got them right after Texans All Access.
00:52Sean Bajani, Patrick Creighton, 7-11 tonight.
00:577-11.
00:59They will hold it down for you right after Texans All Access.
01:04So, it's back tonight.
01:05So, you got...
01:06Back for one day?
01:09They're going to be back continuing.
01:11Continuously, huh?
01:12Yeah.
01:12Yeah, this is their back.
01:13It just took a little time.
01:14And now, here we go.
01:15A little break, a little vacay time.
01:16A little vacay time.
01:17Yeah, I hear you.
01:18The offseason is about to get going here.
01:20Do we roll year-round with Texans All Access?
01:22That's what I was going to say.
01:23I don't know about Beyond This Week.
01:24I know this week, you can hear All Access every night from 6 to 7.
01:27We used to have your show in there.
01:31Oh, yeah.
01:31The Best of Today.
01:32The Best of Today with Tyler Milners.
01:35With an S.
01:36Milners.
01:37You know us, man.
01:38Walmarts.
01:40Sonics.
01:41You know, throw a few S's on there.
01:42Super Bowls.
01:44Well, now you're stretching.
01:46Let me go for that.
01:47All right.
01:50You still...
01:51Do you feel different about the Texans when you look at them and you think...
01:56Because I think a lot of people, after they lost the game to the Patriots, felt like...
02:01Like, we're right there.
02:03We're close.
02:04We're right there to being where we want to be.
02:07We're right there.
02:08Obviously, you're close to getting to an AFC Championship game.
02:10Right there to get to a Super Bowl.
02:12And now you watch this Super Bowl.
02:14You've watched the Championship games on both sides.
02:18Do you look at the Texans as a team that's close to performing at that level we saw yesterday?
02:24Yeah.
02:25Yeah, yeah.
02:25I do.
02:26I don't know.
02:28I think there's a lot of factors there.
02:30One, our defense is good enough that I think we're going to compete with anybody.
02:34Even on nights when your offense is not good.
02:39So, that's a plus.
02:40I think when you look at the state of the AFC right now, I don't know that the opportunity
02:47that was this year in the AFC to get there is ever going to present itself again.
02:52But I do believe that there's kind of a changing of the guard, if you will.
02:57I do believe that when you look at the great quarterbacks in this league and the great offenses
03:04in this league, I think, one, a few of them have trash for defenses.
03:11So, I like our chances to be competitive.
03:12And, again, I think our defense is good enough to slow those guys down.
03:18So, yeah, look, I think we're good enough to compete at that level.
03:22In the AFC, given the current state of the AFC, yes, I think we're good enough right now
03:27to compete week in, week out with the best that the AFC has to offer.
03:32The only thing that holds me back, the defense is good.
03:36I think they're well-coached overall.
03:39The only thing that holds me back is I think the difference from this year's,
03:46let's just stick with their conference, this year's AFC,
03:49to what I will believe is next year's AFC.
03:53You said it earlier, this year, if you're in the AFC, baby, you can have a defense, baby.
03:57You can roll in here in New England, man.
03:59Your quarterback can get sacked 23 times.
04:03You can make the Super Bowl.
04:05Like, you can go and have a backup quarterback.
04:09And, hell, there's some people who believe if that blizzard didn't occur,
04:12that Jarrett Stenum would have got the bronze to the Super Bowl.
04:16There are some – the Texans almost did it.
04:19Like, there are some thoughts that, like, this past year you could do that.
04:22Next year, I think offensively you're going to have to be able to do more
04:27than what was really needed this year.
04:31I think you're going to have to score more points.
04:33I think the Chiefs are going to be back as a team that you've got to score points against.
04:38I think the Ravens are going to be back as a team you potentially have to score points against.
04:42I think the Bengals are a team that kind of fits that.
04:46Ravens potentially fit that if they're healthy.
04:49So, I don't know if you can just – because, I mean, there are many teams,
04:54hey, let's get to 20 men.
04:55I think we've got a chance to win this sucker in the playoffs.
04:58You know, and I don't know if that is the case.
05:00I think the Chargers with Mike McDaniel and if these guys get healthy
05:04are a team that I feel like will be able to score offensively at a better clip.
05:09So, that is the only thing for me is they've got to pick it up offensively
05:15because I think there's going to be a need for them to be able to do more
05:19than they did last year.
05:20Well, look, I think if we're talking about winning it, yeah, I agree.
05:24I think they've got to do more.
05:25But I just think you get a better product out of your quarterback.
05:28I think you get your running back that you've got under contract back, you know,
05:33kind of deal.
05:33I think you've got a real shot to compete with anybody out there.
05:38You mentioned some of the big heavy hitters at quarterback.
05:41And, again, I agree those guys are going to make it more difficult, obviously.
05:45But, I mean, Joe Burrow with no defense, you know, from a championship perspective,
05:51I don't know that they're scaring a ton of people.
05:54Again, I don't know what the defense is going to look like in Buffalo.
05:57I don't know what the defense is going to look like in Baltimore.
06:02So, you know, I don't know.
06:03I just think our defense is a field leveler when it comes to some of those guys,
06:09especially given that they don't have much of a defense to help them.
06:14So, we'll see.
06:14Yeah, look, two things can be true.
06:16I don't believe the Texans are winning a championship unless they have major,
06:22major improvements on the offensive side of the football.
06:24But I do think that they are, as they are right now, even –
06:29and I'm a guy that I don't necessarily lean into.
06:31They've got to make wholesale changes with the offensive line.
06:34And as they are right now in the current state of the AFC, I believe that they can compete.
06:39And I believe that was the question, right?
06:41Yeah, yeah.
06:42Do you watch that?
06:43Did you feel like they're right there or –
06:46I don't watch – I didn't watch it and think that they're right there with the Seahawks.
06:50You know, I think there's a few teams out there that would give really anybody a hell of a run.
06:59But the Rams and the Seahawks, what the top tier in the NFC, I think,
07:06are just significantly better than anybody in the AFC right now.
07:10Yeah, those two teams seem to stand out from everybody.
07:13But I do know for you, watching that game, though, as a Texans fan,
07:19understanding like, hey, this is probably the most similar offense that the Texans run
07:27is what the Patriots do, and that was ugly.
07:31Well, yeah, look, I mean, I think the culture, the buy-in, the good guys,
07:36the sound mechanically and technically, the execution,
07:39you know, all the stuff that we hear come out of there.
07:41Look, I think it's good enough to win games.
07:44I think it's good enough to raise the floor of your franchise.
07:49But it ain't good enough to win a championship, even when the conference is bad
07:55and the opportunity presents itself to move on with less production on the offensive side of it.
08:01I mean, I just think that, you know, there's a lot of similarities between New England and Houston,
08:04and it doesn't play out well, right?
08:07That conservative play, you know, look, I think New England was comfortable last night
08:12when it was 12-0.
08:13I think they were real comfortable at halftime at night.
08:14And then it might have been the plan.
08:16Yeah, oh, yeah.
08:17I mean, if you listen to the talking heads on TV, if you listen to the talking heads on TV,
08:21that was let Sam Darnold lose this thing kind of was the approach.
08:24Well, that really backfired.
08:25And by the time that you decided to turn on and be a little bit more aggressive,
08:28it was 19-zip.
08:29Your quarterback turned the ball over, and it was 19-zip.
08:31And now you have, you know, relatively no chance to come back, right?
08:36So that conservative play, minimizing risk, let the defense steer the ship, you know,
08:41I think the offense failed them miserably in that circumstance,
08:47which is very Houston Texans-like from a game plan perspective.
08:51I thought, speaking of game plan, I thought the game plan overall for New England
08:55was very similar to what the Texans are trying to do, and I thought it was trash.
08:59Super vanilla, lack of creativity, you know, putting it all on the quarterback
09:06at the line of scrimmage to figure things out.
09:09It's like they weren't ready for what Seattle was like or this.
09:12Just the ability to overwhelm a young quarterback is, in this offense,
09:17seems to be easier than others.
09:21I mean, like the play caller was just zero advantage last night.
09:26And he's one of the most decorated play callers in the game.
09:28And, you know, the thought of like, hey, man, have an answer for pressure.
09:32Never, never, never, you know, they didn't.
09:34The same pressure that got them late got them throughout the game.
09:37They never really adjusted.
09:39You know, one of those things where I watched it, Ron, and we watched it here in Houston,
09:44and everybody here constantly leans into, oh, mechanics and techniques weren't good.
09:48We got to execute better, blah, blah, blah.
09:50You mean about the staff, yeah.
09:51Yeah, the staff here.
09:52I mean, it was the same stuff.
09:54You watch that game, and they just leave a lot to be desired.
09:57And I'm talking about if you want to be you when you come out, cool.
10:01But when you realize that, hey, man, my quarterback's not seeing things clearly,
10:05the adjustment of let's use his legs in a design run game.
10:09Nope, never saw it.
10:10Hey, let's throw the screen game.
10:11Nope, never saw it, right?
10:13I mean, like the lining up and doing the same thing over and over and over again,
10:17hoping for a different result when you've got a young quarterback that clearly isn't
10:20seeing things right.
10:21I expect they're holding it.
10:22Like, that's eerily similar to what we see here in Houston.
10:26And I'm shocked that that's with their staff and what they have.
10:30Yeah.
10:30We've watched them adjust against the Texans defense.
10:33Yeah, well, that was the one thing that shocked me.
10:35I expected the difference between Houston and New England to be.
10:39Josh McDaniel would come out with two weeks to prepare and have some level of creativity,
10:44something that Seattle hadn't seen, have his quarterback prepared in a way to at least
10:48take the pressure off of him.
10:49And it just didn't seem like any of that surfaced.
10:51And as a Texans fan, when I'm watching it, I'm like, man, this seems eerily familiar to
10:56kind of the challenge that we're up against here in Houston with Nick Kaley, this offense,
11:02the lack of weapons.
11:03Question, is CJ Stroud really a great fit for this offense?
11:07Eerily similar.
11:08Just one team made it to the World Series, the Super Bowl, and we were at home watching
11:12it.
11:13Go to at T-Mill Real Deal for T-Mill's best bet.
11:16Four of them there for you.
11:18Texans all access behind us, Area 45, 7 to 11.
11:22After that, Clint, great job.
11:23Tyler, great job.
11:24I am Ron The Show.
11:26As always, Houston, we love you, baby.
11:34Yeah, that's what we need.
11:36That's it right there.
11:37I wouldn't turn my nose up to Samaro Smith.
11:39Oh, what you want, Samaro Smith?
11:40I'd be cool.
11:41Take it back, baby.
11:41Are they all alive?
11:42The two, for lack of a better way to say it, important ones are.
11:46Come on, man.
11:47Well, I don't mean it personally.
11:49So now these other ones that might be dead ain't important.
11:52No, I'm not saying.
11:53Who is it?
11:53I don't know them.
11:54Who is that you're talking about?
11:55I'm talking about the lead guitarist.
11:57And of course, Steven Tyler's alive and kicking.
11:59But I know those two guys are the only two that matter to you.
12:01I think Tyler just happened to pick one.
12:03All the members are still with us.
12:11Tyler, I love you too, man.
12:12You're so H-cam.
