Venues across Liverpool are setting out a wide range of exhibitions, performances and family activities for the coming months. The guide brings together key cultural and leisure highlights from museums, galleries, theatres and community spaces across the city region.

00:01Liverpool's cultural calendar is filling up with a wide range of events set to take place across the city, spanning
00:07food, music and major heritage exhibitions.
00:09The programme brings together established venues, independent organisers and large-scale public attractions.
00:16First up, Sefton Park Palm House will host a Japanese cultural celebration organised with community groups including the Japanese Society
00:23North West.
00:23The event on the 28th of June, known as Matsuri, is designed to showcase Japanese traditions and contemporary culture with
00:31performances, cultural displays and family-focused activities.
00:34Set within the historic Glass House and surrounding Parkland, the organisers say the aim is to encourage cultural exchange and
00:40provide an accessible introduction to Japanese arts and heritage for local audiences.
00:45Meanwhile, the Liverpool Coffee Festival returns for its third year at Black Lodge Brewery on the 6th and 7th of
00:51June.
00:51The two-day event brings together coffee producers from across Liverpool and the UK, with organisers highlighting more than 300
00:57coffees available for tasting.
01:00Alongside the drinks, a planned talks from industry specialists, a dedicated tasting space and a marketplace featuring food traders and
01:07independent makers.
01:09Elsewhere, National Museums Liverpool is hosting a major exhibition marking 40 years since the establishment of its museum network.
01:17The display brings together objects from across its portfolio at the World Museum on William Brown Street.
01:23Items range from historic artefacts and maritime objects to finer art and cultural collections that reflect the city's global connections.
01:31The exhibition is intended to highlight the breadth of the organisation's holdings and stories behind them.
01:37That's on display until February next year.
01:40Moving on to music now, and Fields of Eyre will bring a large outdoor Irish music festival to Newsham Park
01:46on the 5th and 6th of June.
01:48The event features multiple stages and a line-up of established Irish artists, alongside UK performers, with organisers emphasising music,
01:56dance and cultural traditions.
01:58Alongside the performances, visitors can expect food stalls, craft traders and family activities.
02:03And finally, Liverpool's Summer of Music will run right across the city region, highlighting a broad programme of concerts, festivals
02:12and live events in both major venues and independent spaces.
02:16The initiative includes performances at established sites, such as Anfield Stadium and Sefton Park, alongside grassroots activity in neighbourhood venues
02:24and cultural spaces.
02:26Support funding has been made available through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to encourage local promoters and artists to
02:33develop new work and events,
02:35with organisers saying the aim is to reflect the diversity and creativity of the region's music scene.
02:42Across the programme as a whole, organisers are positioning the city region as a hub of cultural activity, combining international
02:48artists, local talent and heritage institutions.
