London’s Southbank Centre is celebrating its milestone anniversary with events spanning music, theatre and art. The site says its mission remains focused on making culture accessible to everyone in the capital.

00:01The Southbank Centre is marking 75 years since it first opened as part of the Festival of Britain.
00:06The site began with the Royal Festival Hall, built in 1951 as a symbol of recovery after the war.
