00:02You know how much I love the studio, but on today's episode, we're going on a road trip.
00:08Before we hit the road, I'm going to go over a couple of tips to help us make this the
00:12best road trip ever.
00:13But first, we've got to figure out where we're going.
00:19Just kidding.
00:19It's the 21st century, so if you have a smartphone, it's a great tool to use when you're planning
00:24your trip.
00:24The first app I want to walk you through is Google Maps.
00:26I know you've probably already used it before, but I'm just going to show you some little
00:30features that will make a road trip a lot easier.
00:33Once you've figured out your end destination and you know the route you're going to take,
00:37it's great to find pit stops or attractions along the way to make your ride more fun.
00:41What's great about Google Maps is you can save those locations into your phone, so when it's
00:45time to stop, they're right there waiting for you.
00:47The next app I want to show you is Gas Buddy.
00:50This is a great app if you're traveling on a budget.
00:52This app shows you the nearest gas stations on your route, and more specifically, which
00:56ones have the cheapest gas.
00:58Using this app to me is a no-brainer.
01:01You can't have a road trip without music.
01:03The next app I'm going to show you is Spotify.
01:05Now I know you may already have it, but I want to show you a feature you might not be
01:08aware
01:08of, and this feature is great when you're traveling with friends.
01:11It's called collaborative playlists.
01:13What you can do is make a playlist, send the link to all of your friends, and they can
01:17each individually add their own music to the playlist.
01:20What you get is a soundtrack to your trip that everybody loves.
01:23So that's what you can do with your phone.
01:25What I want to show you now are some hacks that we can use for inside the car.
01:29Instead of packing up room temperature water bottles, stick one or two in the freezer the
01:33night before.
01:34You'll have instant ice packs, and once they thaw out, you'll have ice cold water.
01:38Where do baking cups belong in a car?
01:40I'll show you.
01:42Drop these into your cup holders to catch loose change.
01:45No one likes a messy car, so bring along a portable trash bin.
01:49All you need is a plastic container and small trash bags, and the trash is taken care of.
01:54Now all we need is a car.
01:58Where's the car?
01:59Around the corner.
02:00Here we go.
02:02Wait, is that the car?
02:11Oh my gosh, what is this?
02:18Oh, guys, this road trip just got an upgrade.
02:24For safety, use a 3M Velcro strip to secure the garbage can to the car.
02:32Using rubber bands, secure your phone to the visor.
02:35Now you can capture all those fun moments right to your phone.
02:40All right, now all I need is my friends.
02:43All right, you guys ready to go?
02:45So ready to go.
02:46Let's do this.
02:49It's time to pull up your playlist and hit the road.
03:08We've finally made it to the beach.
03:10Now all that's left to do is enjoy our destination.
03:13That's what I'd call a successful summer road trip.
