00:06I honestly thought when he didn't show up that he was just out with the guys.
00:11People go into Kensington and are never seen again.
00:14Why would Keith wipe his own car down?
00:18Someone else probably did that.
00:21Keith was definitely riding with a rough group of guys.
00:24The Warlock's reputation in Philadelphia is violence, drugs, and guns.
00:29They're prepared to shoot it out with SWAT.
00:34It's like, yo, I just got shot.
00:36I'm like, what? What do you mean you just got shot?
00:38There was a lot of blood on the walls, high-velocity blood spatter.
00:43There's nothing more hated than a rat or a snitch.
00:47Nothing.
00:48This dude's s*** waiting to kill me, bro.
00:50They were ambushed as the two to me.
00:52It appeared that there were fresh scratches in the marble surrounding the grave.
00:57You're in, like, unchartered territory here.
01:00I was like, holy s***.
01:24As a cop, a lot of the missing persons cases I worked were pretty similar.
01:28Often they involved drug use, affairs, or people that just didn't want to be found.
01:33But the disappearance of Keith Palumbo was a whole different animal.
01:37And Philly police had no idea just how dark and disturbing it would become.
01:47On February 10th of 2020, a woman by the name of Dottie Palumbo went to the Upper Darby Police Department
01:54and reported her son, Keith Palumbo, who was 36 at the time, as missing.
02:00Dottie Palumbo was very concerned that Keith had not contacted her for four days,
02:06something that he's never done before.
02:08The night that he last saw his mother, he came in, grabbed a couple slices of pizza,
02:14and he told his mother that he was going out for the evening and that he had her car
02:19and that if he needed anything, to just contact him.
02:23Unlike any other time, Keith had come in that night very fast.
02:27He was very anxious.
02:28And she felt that there was something wrong, almost like that mother's intuition, that instinct.
02:32When she last saw him leaving the house, he had a burgundy flannel shirt on and a vest.
02:38And he's wearing a gold guitar pick necklace that his mom had given him.
02:43And on it, it said, Keith never let the music stop.
02:46Love, Mom.
02:49Upward Darby Township is a blue-collar suburb on the western edge of Philadelphia.
02:54Detectives there start by reaching out to people in the community who might know where Keith could be.
02:59I first heard that Keith was missing.
03:02I got a call from Upward Darby detectives asking, do you know Keith Palumbo?
03:08I said, yeah, of course. He's one of my best friends.
03:11Keith, from the first time I met him, he was just cool, man.
03:15He had natural talent in pretty much everything he did.
03:18He was always drawing.
03:20Just an amazing tattoo artist as well.
03:23He was such a good artist.
03:25So when I got my tattoos, I just let him practice on me because he could draw anything.
03:32But everybody thought that he was going to be like a rock star.
03:38Everybody.
03:42He was amazing.
03:43Keith was an amazing musician.
03:46He played in a band, Closed Gasket.
03:49It was like heavy death metal.
03:51I used to basically hang out in my friend's basement almost every day while they practiced.
03:56We were friends.
03:57But Keith and I started going out shortly before he went missing.
04:03I last spoke to Keith, I want to say around, like, 9 o'clock p.m., the day that he
04:09went missing.
04:11He had texted me that he was coming to my house that night.
04:15I honestly thought when he didn't show up that he was just out with the guys all night.
04:19I didn't immediately think anything of it.
04:22But then when, like, two days went by and I was still getting his voicemail, I knew something was wrong.
04:28His mom or his brother or somebody in his family always knew where he was.
04:34So when he was missing, that's why it was so urgent that everybody find him.
04:41Multiple people tell detectives that if anyone knows where Keith might be,
04:46it's his childhood friend Mike DeLuca.
04:50Throughout the investigation, one name that kept coming up was Mike DeLuca.
04:54He was very well known to the police officers here in Upper Army Township.
04:59The simplest way to describe Mike DeLuca is he stands out.
05:03Short in stature, stocky.
05:05He had a shaved head and he was covered in tattoos.
05:07You would not forget Mike's face or Mike's presence.
05:11I guess if you were to meet him for the first time, I would say somewhat of an intimidating person.
05:16And Michael DeLuca had been in prison for several years for an incident where he was convicted of aggravated assault.
05:24Mike definitely had a rough upbringing, rough childhood.
05:28But he actually reached out to me when he first got out of prison.
05:33I could hear my old friend through the phone.
05:35I could still sense the good in him.
05:38And Keith had been hanging out with Mike a lot since DeLuca got out of jail.
05:42And I didn't see anything wrong with that.
05:45Mike was, he was one of us.
05:49Upper Darby detectives attempt to track down DeLuca in the neighborhood.
05:52But he's nowhere to be found.
05:56Keith and Mike DeLuca went missing the first week of February.
06:01And we're like, something's not right here.
06:04They're connected.
06:06Maybe Mike and Keith are hurt or in trouble.
06:09And they were just laying low or hiding.
06:1224 hours into the investigation, detectives request a search warrant for Keith's cell phone records.
06:18They then enter his mother's car into the national database for stolen vehicles.
06:22And they soon get their first break in the case.
06:29Dottie Palumbo's vehicle was located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
06:33That was key to the case because now they had the vehicle that they knew that Keith was in when
06:41he went missing.
06:43Patrol officers noted that the car had been sitting for a day or two unattended.
06:48And that area is a very, very distressed area.
06:53It's known for a very high volume of drug trafficking.
06:58According to his friends and family, Keith Palumbo struggled with drugs for years.
07:04It kind of threw us off when the car was found in Kensington.
07:06Because in the back of your mind you think, you know, well Keith has had a history of drugs.
07:11And he overcame his addiction.
07:13You think, well, what if he relapsed?
07:16I'm thinking maybe Keith got hooked on heroin.
07:19Because people go into Kensington and are never seen again.
07:26So, first you're going to look, inspect the car as much as you can.
07:30You're looking for blood.
07:31You're looking for hairs.
07:33You're looking for fibers.
07:35But time is of the essence right now.
07:37So you're hoping maybe you get a fingerprint.
07:39That would be your best bet.
07:43Unfortunately, they were unable to recover anything.
07:48It appeared to them that the car had been wiped clean.
07:51There should have been fingerprints on the car.
07:54Even Keith's mother's fingerprints should have been on the car.
07:57Why would Keith wipe his own car down?
08:01Someone else probably did that.
08:09Detectives are now convinced that Keith was the victim of a crime.
08:13Armed with this new information, they re-interview his family and friends.
08:18Initially, when the detectives first called, I found out Keith was missing.
08:22I was a little hesitant to talk to them.
08:24Because I didn't want to jeopardize Keith or maybe get him in trouble.
08:27But later on, it became real.
08:30Like, yeah, he's really missing.
08:32And I told the detectives what I knew.
08:36I told them about the last time I spoke to Keith.
08:4410 days prior, I get a random phone call from a random number.
08:50It's probably, like, midnight.
08:51And it's Keith.
08:52And he's like, yo, I just got shot.
08:55I'm like, what?
08:55I'm like, you're joking.
08:57Like, what are you talking about?
08:58What do you mean you just got shot?
09:10Detectives have just learned that 10 days before Keith Palumbo went missing,
09:15he called his best friend in the middle of the night to deliver some shocking news.
09:21It's not every day your best friend calls you up and tells you that they got shot.
09:25I'm like, you know, like, what are you talking about?
09:27But he just said, I got shot in the leg.
09:30He's like, but I'm okay.
09:34Keith called me at about 12.30, 1 o'clock that night.
09:38He told me he had two bullets in his leg, and his one friend had shot him.
09:44When I heard that he got shot, I was freaking out.
09:46I told him to get to the hospital right away, go get help.
09:49And why are you hanging out with these people that are shooting you?
09:54He didn't want to tell me who shot him, or if he knew who shot him, or any details.
10:00But there was like a little bit of, like, panic in his voice,
10:04concern that whoever had shot him might come back for more.
10:11Detectives look into the shooting that occurred 10 days before Keith went missing.
10:15When you go into the hospital with a gunshot wound, hospitals are obligated to notify the police.
10:22But he was uncooperable with the police at the time.
10:25He wouldn't tell the police how he had gotten shot, where it had happened, or who did it.
10:32You've got to believe that being shot before he's been reported missing is connected somehow to his disappearance.
10:39At this point, I'm thinking Keith's dead.
10:42We just haven't found him yet.
10:46By late February 2020, friends and family have not heard from Keith Palumbo or his friend Mike DeLuca for over
10:53two weeks.
10:55Detectives look closer into DeLuca and discover he is a member of the Philadelphia biker gang, the Warlocks.
11:02The Warlocks' reputation in Philadelphia is violence, drugs, and guns.
11:07Methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin.
11:11Keith was not in the Warlocks.
11:12He was not a prospect for the Warlocks.
11:14But some of his friends were, including Mike DeLuca.
11:17And that starts to get police concerned.
11:21I did not ever meet any of the friends he was hanging out with at the time.
11:25But it didn't sound like the best of people to be hanging out with.
11:29So I was definitely scared for him, and in general.
11:34I think Keith was definitely riding with a rough group of guys.
11:37But with all that being said, I knew Keith was in good hands.
11:42Mike was going to look after him.
11:44Detectives wonder if Keith's childhood friend, Mike DeLuca, got them both in over their heads.
11:50It's one of many questions friends and family ask themselves as they search for answers.
11:56Did something happen to Keith?
11:58Did something happen to Mike?
11:59Did something happen to both of them at the same time?
12:02I didn't personally know Mike DeLuca, but it was awful not knowing where Keith was.
12:08I was super worried about him.
12:10He wouldn't just fall off the face of the earth like that and not tell us.
12:15There was a bunch of rumors going around, so I don't know what was true, what wasn't true.
12:22But I was doing what everybody else was doing.
12:24We were commenting on the Facebook post trying to find him.
12:29It's a sickening feeling because he's not only my best friend, but like my brother.
12:35So you're racking your brain night and day.
12:38Where is he?
12:40You want to hold out hope, right?
12:42Because that's all you have.
12:46After almost two months of looking for Keith and Mike, detectives finally make some progress.
12:52They're conducting countless interviews, and they're speaking with what I'll describe as confidential informant sources.
13:00That's what drew them to Bucky Evans.
13:03Buck Evans was pretty well known as a low-level criminal down in Delaware County.
13:08Drug dealing, burglaries, gun arrests, and he was also a known member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club.
13:16Investigators are being told that Bucky Evans is out there telling people that Keith Palumbo is a snitch.
13:25That Keith Palumbo is the reason why his son, Bucky Evans' son, Nicholas, was arrested.
13:32Two weeks before he was shot in the leg, Keith Palumbo had been in a house that belonged to Buck
13:42Evans' son.
13:43Buck Evans' son was apparently selling drugs while Keith was in the house.
13:48Shortly after Keith left the residence, police raided the house.
13:53Cops go to the house right after Keith left, and people are starting to think, was Keith a snitch?
13:59Did Keith rat the kid out to the police?
14:04There's nothing more hated in a motorcycle club than a rat or a snitch.
14:10Nothing.
14:11So now, detectives want to talk to Buck Evans.
14:27Detectives believe Warlock gang member Buck Evans may be responsible for the disappearance of Keith Palumbo.
14:33Evans was convinced Palumbo was a police informant, and being labeled a snitch could cost him his life.
14:42Before we do anything, detectives followed up the allegation that Keith had ratted out Buck Evans' son and found that
14:52Keith wasn't a snitch for any police department.
14:55So it was just a bad rumor.
14:58From a police standpoint, you know, you've confirmed that Keith is not an informant, but the damage is done.
15:06So obviously we still want to talk to Buck Evans.
15:10Finding Buck Evans is easy.
15:13He's currently in prison for an unrelated parole violation.
15:17So we made arrangements to have Buck Evans brought from Delaware County Prison to the Philadelphia Homicide Unit.
15:32And we sat him down, and we let him tell his story.
15:39You shot him?
15:40Yeah, it was like, because my son got a damn buff on a case.
15:43There was a rumor going around that people thought Keith might have snitched out on that arrest, right?
15:51Buck Evans didn't even flinch when he told myself and Detective Carr that he himself had shot Keith Palumbo in
15:59the leg two weeks prior to him going missing because he thought that Keith had informed on his son.
16:07I guess Bucky Evans figured, hey, if I shoot him, he's going to tell me if the snitch is or
16:11isn't him.
16:12Well, he found out after he shot Keith Palumbo, it was not Keith Palumbo.
16:16I felt bad about what happened, and I wanted to tell the truth about what happened.
16:21He wanted us to believe that everything was fine between him and Keith, even though he had shot him in
16:31the leg.
16:32But I have to take a turn to say, hey, dude, like, you're telling me you shot this guy two
16:38weeks before.
16:39You're certainly going to have people that are going to say, well, then you killed him.
16:42And here's something that you need to understand.
16:45I don't want somebody to flip the script and say, well, Bucky shot a guy two weeks before he went
16:50missing.
16:50Obviously, Bucky killed him.
16:52Buck Evans, he is absolutely swearing that he had nothing to do with Keith being missing.
17:00But he brings up that something might have happened at the clubhouse between Keith Palumbo and someone from the Warlocks
17:09Motorcycle Club.
17:11Anytime someone is willing to give you your information, you have to say to yourself, are they looking to distract
17:18us and lead us down a different path?
17:20But you're excited about it.
17:22You welcome that information.
17:24Detectives obtain a search warrant for the Warlocks Clubhouse, where both Keith and his friend Mike DeLuca hung out.
17:30The next day, in the early morning hours, police gather with a SWAT team.
17:36This is considered a high-end warrant where you know that the potential for violence is there.
17:44The worst-case scenario would be they know SWAT's coming, and they're prepared to shoot it out with SWAT.
17:52You have to go in ready for whatever happens there.
17:54And they did.
18:06There was no one in the clubhouse when they hit the house.
18:11So we got the all-clear to go in and process.
18:19And when we walked into the living room, there was a couch, and the walls were painted black.
18:27Initially, I didn't think anything.
18:29But when we started looking around, we realized that not only were the walls painted black,
18:34that appeared to be freshly painted.
18:37Very odd.
18:38And you could tell right away, too, that there was carpet at one time, and the carpet had been removed.
18:45You could tell just by the circular nature of the markings.
18:50There was a lot of blood on the walls.
18:56And it was a high-velocity blood spatter, very small droplets,
19:03and there was a large puddling of blood that ran along the baseboard.
19:08It's not from a bloody nose or a pricked finger.
19:13I believe someone was murdered in the clubhouse.
19:17But is it Keith's blood, or is it Mike's blood?
19:21Or is it a combination of both that are bloods?
19:23Are they both dead?
19:25Just under two months since Keith Palumbo and his friend Mike DeLuca went missing,
19:29the blood samples from the clubhouse are sent to the lab for testing.
19:34While detectives wait for the results, they turn their attention to Keith's cell phone records.
19:41When Upper Darby was attempting to locate Keith,
19:45they issued a subpoena for Keith's cell phone records through his cell phone provider.
19:51Keith's cell phone apparently went dead in very close proximity to a cemetery in Philadelphia called Mount Moriah Cemetery.
20:03It's a major break once you find out where the cell phone line is pinged.
20:09And now we're going to look for this body inside the cemetery.
20:17Mount Moriah is a huge, crumbling cemetery in southwest Philly.
20:22It's an eerie place full of centuries-old crypts and mausoleums.
20:26If you were looking for somewhere to hide a body, it's the perfect spot.
20:32Mount Moriah Cemetery is massive.
20:34It goes on for acre and acre and acre and hundreds of tombstones, mausoleums, crypts.
20:42You're just looking out over this vast cemetery like, where do I even start?
20:48And I'm like, you go that way, I'm going this way.
20:51And we'll meet back in a half hour and see if you see anything out of the ordinary.
20:55One of the police officers happened to be walking by what we would describe as a crypt
21:01with a very large capstone over the top of the crypt.
21:04He noticed that it appeared that there were fresh scratches in the marble surrounding the grave.
21:12And they start to say, this looks like the top of this crypt was moved.
21:17And they look at the dates on it, and it goes back before the Civil War.
21:24You're in, like, uncharted territory here.
21:27I'm thinking we're going to move that slab, and we're going to start digging.
21:33They got a pry bar and got in there and actually literally started to pry the crypt top, slide it
21:40over, so they could see in.
21:43We were able to stick this small inspection camera into a crack.
21:50You could see something really blue, almost like a tarp.
21:57And I'm like, he's there.
22:10After a nearly two-month search for Upper Darby native Keith Palumbo, Philly detectives find themselves in Mount Moriah Cemetery,
22:18staring down into a Civil War crypt.
22:20And what they see is right out of a horror movie.
22:28When I peeked into the grave, you could see a body on a tarp that was on his back, face
22:37up, and almost like he's staring back at you.
22:41The last body to be buried in the crypt went in there sometime in the 1800s, and we knew that
22:49there probably wasn't blue plastic tarps in the 1800s.
22:53But given the vastness of the cemetery and the amount of graves that were there, the fact that we found
22:59this crypt was astounding to me.
23:02I remember climbing down, and it was so dark, and then you start to see how big it is and
23:08how deep it is.
23:09It probably went back 25 feet, and that's where 10 wooden caskets were placed.
23:17The body was laying in an area where there weren't any caskets.
23:23This body just looked like it was dumped.
23:27The body looks fresh and is wrapped in carpet.
23:31But before detectives can examine it further, they make another gruesome discovery.
23:37One of the crime scene officers looked in the corner of the crypt and said,
23:42Hey, Joe, there's another one down here.
23:46I said, you've got to be kidding me. You've got to be kidding me.
23:50Oh, my God. There's another one.
23:57Now, the question is, who is it?
24:01At that point, they were probably thinking, this is Palumbo and DeLuca.
24:06But these guys are seasoned homicide detectives.
24:10They know what decomposition looks like.
24:13You could see it was a skull, much more decomposed than the original body that we saw.
24:20That body has been there for a very long time, but we don't know who he is.
24:25We'll have to swab that for DNA.
24:29Detectives return their attention to the first body, virtually certain of what they're about to find.
24:34He had a fresh wound on his right leg, and the gauze was still wrapped up on it.
24:41The carpet that he was wrapped up in was consistent with the carpet that we saw from the Warlocks Clubhouse
24:48the day before.
24:50And the necklace, the guitar pick around his neck.
24:56Never let the music stop.
24:58They knew from the mother that she had given that to them.
25:01So now they're saying, okay, we got Keith Palumbo right here.
25:06I can't remember exactly who told me.
25:09But I found out that they found his body, along with somebody else's, in a cemetery.
25:17And it was just crazy to me.
25:20It was awful.
25:22I got the news, probably through Facebook, like everybody else did, because it went from help us find Keith to
25:31justice for Keith.
25:33And when I read that, I was super, super angry.
25:38He was like the nicest guy I ever met.
25:45I was shattered and disheartened to hear that they found Keith, and they found my best friend, dead.
25:53And his body was thrown in a cold, dark, empty pit of a crypt.
26:02Whoever did this, I felt disgust that someone would treat another person that way.
26:10As family and friends mourn, detectives confront a mountain of evidence that points in only one direction.
26:19I was assigned this case right after two bodies had been discovered in the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
26:26The facts of this case clearly pointed to the Warlocks Motorcycle Club.
26:32When police get the crypt open, they find Keith Palumbo's body wrapped up in the same carpet that was found
26:38torn up at the Warlocks Clubhouse.
26:41And they also find the body of another individual, David Rizzillo.
26:46He was a prospect in the Warlocks that had been missing, as it turned out, since 2017.
26:53And in addition to that, the Warlocks Clubhouse investigators discovered blood on the walls.
26:59That DNA matched Keith Palumbo.
27:03At this point, investigators are convinced Keith Palumbo had, in fact, been murdered at that location.
27:14Who was involved in this murder?
27:17They know it's a member of the Warlocks.
27:20But you're going to need some help to move a body from the Warlocks Motorcycle Clubhouse to that crypt.
27:27You're going to need help to remove the cover of that crypt.
27:32Detectives tracked down the registered owner of the Warlocks Clubhouse.
27:35If anyone knows the people involved, it's her.
27:39The owner of the property was a female by the name of Donna Morelli.
27:43Her deceased husband was the former president of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club.
27:50She told us that she knew Keith, that he was an associate of the club, that he did frequent the
27:56clubhouse, that he was friends of Buck Evans, Michael DeLuca.
28:02She also said that Michael DeLuca was living on the first floor.
28:06But she had no idea where he was.
28:10DeLuca's name keeps popping up.
28:11Yeah, he rents the apartment from me.
28:13I haven't seen him in a while.
28:14It's been a week.
28:14It's been a couple of weeks.
28:16Maybe you should look to some of the other guys in the Warlocks and talk to them.
28:19Maybe they know where he is.
28:20But she is giving off little hints.
28:24When dealing with evasive people like Donna Morelli, you have to read between the lines.
28:30Detectives sense that the Warlocks Clubhouse owner is trying to point the finger at Mike DeLuca without actually saying it.
28:37They don't know if she's telling the truth, but they're sure she knows more than she's letting on.
28:43So at that point, they obtained a search warrant for her house.
28:51First thing you notice, there was a lot of weapons.
28:54There was a lot of guns.
28:55But there was also some signs from Mount Moriah's cemetery.
28:59The back of her property literally had a gate that you could walk through and be on the property of
29:06the cemetery.
29:08That gave her access to the entire cemetery.
29:15I want to talk to you because I think your information is valuable for us, and I think it would
29:19be beneficial to you.
29:21While I was interviewing her, we confronted her with some of the evidence that we knew.
29:25You have to tell me about this, Donna.
29:27You just have to tell me about it.
29:28I mean, nothing's going to change what happened.
29:31You just got to tell me everything you know.
29:33So Donna started talking.
29:35And I don't think she can help herself when she starts talking.
29:40It's like, just do this before anybody comes in here and sees this.
29:44Because I can't have this here.
29:47She eventually came clean and admitted that Keith's body was brought to her house after he was murdered in the
29:58clubhouse.
29:58Did you walk back in the cemetery with him and show him how to open the grave?
30:02Yeah.
30:03Okay.
30:04You open the grave?
30:07We did it.
30:08We did it together.
30:10She also says, I have this here.
30:13This might be helpful.
30:15And she pulls out her cell phone and she shows me a video.
30:23And you can see in the back of the truck, a body.
30:28You can see the body.
30:31You can see the carpeting in it.
30:33I was like, holy ****.
30:46More than two months after Keith Palumbo went missing, Warlock's clubhouse owner Donna Morelli shows Philly detectives video from the
30:54night he was murdered.
30:55When she shows me the video, you see a red truck, which is Donna Morelli's truck.
31:02It pulls in and parks in the back of her house.
31:07When you gave him the keys to the truck, what did you suppose you were going to use your truck
31:11for?
31:12You probably didn't leave Keith.
31:16We were told that Keith's body was in the back of the truck at that time.
31:20And in the video, you can clearly see the blue tarp and the carpet that was loaded in the back
31:28of the truck.
31:30And then you see Mike DeLuca get out.
31:35He was driving.
31:37And Billy Gibson, another member of the Warlocks, is the passenger.
31:46You see them walking in.
31:47And you can see the tattoos on Mike DeLuca's head.
31:50He's very easy to identify.
31:54When you see it, now you're wondering, could he have actually killed his best friend?
32:02If so, this is a case of absolute betrayal.
32:08Here are two people that have been friends their entire lives.
32:12Mike DeLuca knew Keith's family.
32:15He knew his family members.
32:16He knew his friends.
32:19But there's Mike DeLuca.
32:21He's on video.
32:23Helping get this body out of this pickup truck.
32:26In Donna Morelli's backyard.
32:29Right off the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
32:32And here's the guys we need to focus on.
32:38Donna Morelli is charged for her role in covering up the murder.
32:43Detectives then issue arrest warrants for both Mike DeLuca and Billy Gibson.
32:48We received information that Billy Gibson had checked himself into a rehab in upstate Pennsylvania.
32:55Myself and a couple of the detectives took a ride up there.
32:59We brought him back to Philadelphia.
33:05Just so we're clear, we're going to go over the specifics of what happened regarding when Keith Pulumbo got killed.
33:24Michael DeLuca was known by the nickname Chaos. He gave himself that nickname while in prison.
33:43Billy Gibson immediately gives up Mike DeLuca and tries to distance himself from the murder.
33:55I wasn't in the same room when he shot him up. I was on the next room way walking towards
34:01him.
34:05And, uh, said Buck Evans was also there.
34:09Well, Buck, he came up the steps first.
34:12And then Chaos.
34:15I heard, boom!
34:18Right?
34:20I was scared of that.
34:23And then Chaos.
34:24He came right up and put the gun in my head.
34:29He said, if you want to be a real warlock, you will keep your mouth shut.
34:32If not, I'll kill you.
34:34I'll kill your family.
34:36I'll kill your kids.
34:37I'll kill everybody.
34:41Gibson said that he was forced to participate in getting rid of Keith's body.
34:48I was nervous.
34:49I almost peed myself.
34:51And Buck's looking at me.
34:54And he said, just do what he says.
34:57After wrapping up Billy Gibson's interrogation, detectives bring Buck Evans into the room for the second time.
35:08When Buck Evans was interviewed by police a second time, he said that he was actually with Keith Palumbo prior
35:14to the murder and with Billy Gibson as well.
35:17And Billy Gibson wanted the phone, and he called him, and that's how we ended up going now.
35:22Okay.
35:26Buck said that as soon as they walked into the clubhouse, Michael DeLuca immediately produced a handgun and shot Keith
35:36in the face two times.
35:46He told us that he was close enough to Keith that he actually got brain matter in his hair.
36:02After Michael DeLuca shot Keith, everyone looked around in astonishment as if to say, why did you do that?
36:10Michael DeLuca made some comment about, that's what warlocks do, that's why we stick together.
36:18Which I guess gave credence to the fact that there was theories that Keith was some sort of informant.
36:27Chaos pulls the gun out, he's ready to shoot me.
36:29He came happy that day.
36:30Right, okay.
36:31And there's everything I'm telling you, he's true.
36:34Once everyone starts getting arrested, the other guys are trying to get out of it and pointing the finger at
36:40each other.
36:41Dude, I almost, I fought Buck that night over what happened, so I didn't want to be part of anything
36:45like that.
36:46Bill, were you waiting until you got in trouble on the call?
36:48Oh, now I'll tell you, now, now, now, now somebody's in trouble.
36:52All that loyalty of the warlocks about not snitching and all, they all turned out to be snitches.
36:59So now they have two independent kind of witnesses telling them what happened at the clubhouse.
37:05They have Donna Morelli with a videotape showing the pickup truck pull in with the body in the back of
37:10the truck.
37:12At the end of the interview, Buck Evans told us that Mike DeLuca was on the run
37:19and that nobody had heard from him since the night that Keith went missing.
37:24We were fairly confident that Michael DeLuca killed his lifelong friend.
37:31But the problem here is, where the hell is Mike DeLuca?
37:41April 9th, 2020.
37:43Over two months have passed since Keith Palumbo was murdered.
37:47After extracting confessions from three members of the Warlocks' motorcycle gang,
37:51detectives have placed a nationwide alert for a fourth, Mike DeLuca.
37:56One of the pieces that they don't have yet is Mike DeLuca.
38:00Where is he? Is he hiding?
38:04And then investigators were notified that Mike DeLuca had been stopped and arrested in Wyoming.
38:12Mike DeLuca gets pulled over in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
38:16And he's acting nervous, and they immediately know something's up.
38:20So they get consent to search the car.
38:24They find a gun.
38:26He's a convicted felon who's not supposed to have a gun.
38:30I went up and got him and transported him back to Philadelphia.
38:35He knew right away why we were bringing him back.
38:38But he said that he didn't want to talk about it.
38:41They had a lawyer, and he was going to fight the charges.
38:45As DeLuca awaits trial,
38:48detectives pieced together the events that led to the murder of Keith Palumbo.
38:53Throughout 2019, leading up to the disappearance of Keith Palumbo,
38:57a lot of people in Keith's circle, members of the Warlocks, were getting arrested.
39:04And they were getting arrested for narcotic offenses.
39:08And in that circle, they were convinced that Keith Palumbo was supplying law enforcement with information.
39:15That he was the one that was snitching on the Warlocks.
39:20Even though we know that was not true.
39:23Michael DeLuca was trying to reestablish himself as the leader of the Warlocks.
39:29This could have been his way of showing that anybody that disrespected him
39:34was going to meet the same fate as Keith.
39:43Once Mike DeLuca is charged, Keith Palumbo's friends grapple with the unthinkable.
39:49I can't even put in the words how hard it was to hear that Mike was responsible.
39:58Growing up, we were inseparable.
40:01Best friends, did everything together, went everywhere together.
40:06And Dottie, Keith's mom, she loved Mike like a son.
40:11She took care of him when he needed a hot meal or a place to spend the night.
40:18This was like someone we loved.
40:21Someone we thought loved us back.
40:23And it's like I'm living in a nightmarish, alternate reality.
40:29As their trials approach, Buck Evans, Billy Gibson, and Donna Morelli take guilty pleas.
40:35They each get 18 to 24 months for their part in the cover-up.
40:39Mike DeLuca pleads guilty to the murder of his childhood friend
40:43and is sentenced to 25 to 35 years.
40:48Mike DeLuca is just, I think, pure evil.
40:52To kill your best friend growing up.
40:56There's a special spot in hell for that guy, I'm sure.
41:02I thought DeLuca would have got life for what he did.
41:06And I think he should have got life.
41:08But it was definitely hard to go through.
41:11Keith was a big, scary-looking dude, but he wasn't at all.
41:16He was really a teddy bear. He was a sweetheart.
41:21Keith dying messed a lot of people up.
41:26Messed a lot of people up.
41:28But Keith will always be remembered.
41:30He has so much art out there.
41:32He's got a bunch of music out there.
41:34He's got a loving family.
41:35He brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.
41:39I don't know for certain why Mike killed Keith.
41:43But I can say for sure that I know Mike intimately.
41:49I know his tendency to want to dominate and be the one in charge.
41:57And that probably had something to do with it.
42:00Because I also know that Keith doesn't take from anyone.
42:04I think Keith probably said something along the lines of,
42:08like, get that thing out of my face.
42:10How dare you point a gun at me?
42:13I don't think Keith was willing to be under Mike's thumb.
42:17I don't think he was willing to play ball.
42:21I think Mike killed him for it.
42:23And that breaks my heart.
42:25But, yeah, Keith was one of the best friends a guy could have.
42:29He was awesome.
