00:30welcome again to the big match and again on the program today we have Manchester
00:33United on the rampage that's just one of three outstanding first division
00:37matches we have for you today our main match though is one with a real sting in
00:41its tail as we take in West Ham against Leicester City
00:47Moore and Robson again the angle wasn't right Bonds and a great save by Shilton
00:55also Huddersfield against Manchester United and Wolves against Southampton
01:04well that one was disallowed but we have 11 new goals for you to enjoy but now it's
01:08time to get on with the football and for our first stop it's Upton Park where
01:12even in West Ham's recent thin years the crowds have always been good ones
01:15today's is 31,000 and they've come to see a West Ham side that really is in good
01:20form led by Bobby Moore who spent Friday at home ill and indeed was not feeling
01:24himself yesterday and Clyde Best who's been suffering all week with a niggling
01:28ankle injury so West Ham in their good form are happy to announce an unchanged
01:33side now Leicester City with skipper David Nish finding it this a season of
01:37struggle but now able to feel just about their strongest team and in that team
01:41three players that London fans of course will know very well indeed one of them
01:45Keith Weller so recently with Chelsea then of course there's Alan Birchenall
01:50formerly of Crystal Palace and then the third one John Samuels ex-Arsenal all
01:55a hundred thousand pound men the referee today is schoolmaster Bill Gow of Swansea
02:00and in the stand West Ham fan Reg Varney from on the buses flanked by mr. Jimmy Hill
02:05and mr. John Freeman
02:11so Leicester City then all in white defending the goal to our left get us away
02:16Leicester only three off the bottom of the first division
02:22situation of course that West Ham knew well enough at the end of or most of last season
02:31situation that certainly doesn't help relaxed football and I would think Leicester perhaps just a
02:34little bit of tense coming to a West Ham side who are very much informed with
02:37only one defeat in the last 11 games Lampard now for West Ham to Brookings for
02:45Clyde Best Robson Robson now playing very much more in the middle of the field and a
02:49good ball that finds Billy Bonds on the right is Redknapp and the throw to Leicester City
03:02in fact Leicester who splashed out all this money on men that they hope will score goals for them but
03:07certainly they need them they've not scored in the last three games and in fact they've scored
03:10only three in the last seven games Bobby Moore now back to Bobby Ferguson so the need for
03:17Leicester goals is great
03:21well by Manly there on Jeff Hurst and the free kick to West Ham
03:31and it'll be bonds to take it although usually they wait for Bobby Moore to take it in fact the
03:36ball is going back a few more yards exactly where Bobby Moore can take this free kick now for West
03:42Ham
03:43cross to nodded away as far as Samuels very Cooley indeed he looked for a moment as though he might
03:47be in trouble and then Cooley indeed playing it wide of Hurst for Shilton
03:59ball must have come off Birchenall because the linesman was flagging that it's a West Ham
04:02throw indeed it is and Billy Bonds to take it Hurst to Robson
04:11Robson who had a very fine game particularly in the first half against Leeds in that drawn
04:15League Cup game here on Wednesday but now it's Samuels to Weller
04:20putting it forward for the chunky Fern to chase it and a mix up there and Weller oh my goodness
04:24and Ferguson
04:25just holding on to that one
04:29Hurst
04:31and Samuels
04:32Samuels really is already making a mark on the middle of the field in this game but now it's Hurst
04:36again
04:36with Lampard faithfully going outside him inside to Robson now
04:41strong challenge by Glover Lampard
04:45turned a little shorter there for Best hoping that Best can make something of it and a shot by Robson
04:50no more than a foot wide
04:53and Shilton wouldn't have seen it
05:06so Shilton with the goal kick for Leicester
05:13Birchenall going in hard on this one
05:14and it had to be the fist it's falling to Weller
05:16and my goodness that's dangerous and as cool as you like
05:20Ferguson gets that one of the second go from Birchenall
05:27Birchenall and Weller very nearly creating a goal there for Leicester
05:31and Hurst again getting up well to nod that down for Brookings
05:35still Brookings going on
05:37my goodness and that almost beat Shilton
05:46Redknapp trying again to get behind that
05:48Leicester defence has tossed it for Robson and my goodness
05:52how did Shilton get that one
05:54Leicester claiming that that ball was over the line when Redknapp crossed it
05:58and they hesitated for a fraction
06:01Robson didn't and luckily for Leicester neither did Shilton
06:06so right on half time
06:09that nearly was the first goal of the game
06:15Redknapp
06:16Redknapp with the corner
06:18and Hurst foiled by the diving header of cross
06:22Taylor to Moore
06:24an outstretched boot and it's Lampard
06:27Moore again
06:30this time for Redknapp
06:31no Lampard instead
06:32flick through nicely for Brookings
06:34down he goes
06:37and a free kick is given
06:38but an indirect free kick
06:48so Manly I'm no doubt very relieved that it should have been an indirect free kick and not a penalty
06:55and the Leicester wall at this moment about four yards off the ball
07:01and now they've moved to seven but there it is and Best trying to get in with his header
07:06McDowell right up there, Willer right back
07:09Lampard to play it wide again, too wide for his skipper Bobby Moore
07:12and Moore couldn't keep it in and that should have been a simple and an accurate pass from Frank Lampard
07:20Glover stealing yards
07:33and there goes the whistle for half time
07:38which has really been dominated by West Ham
07:40but some good play in the midfield by John Samuels for Leicester City
07:44and most certainly at the back by the ever reliable John Schoberg
07:47the half time score here at Upton Park
07:50is West Ham United 0
07:51Leicester City 0
07:53and we'll be back with you in just a couple of minutes
08:08So West Ham get us away then at the start of the second half against a very defensive minded Leicester
08:13City
08:16signs are that Leicester have come here to make sure of at least a point
08:20very rarely have they had more than two men up in the first half
08:24McDowell now with the throw for Bobby Moore
08:29Shaking off the physical challenge of Alan Birchenall to Lampard
08:35Best versus Schoberg and this time the head of Best nodding it back for Brian Robson
08:38and Clyde Best for a moment looked as though he'd escaped Schoberg
08:41Robson going on
08:44and a goal kick
09:04Tommy Taylor
09:08Lampard
09:10Best nodded in nicely there for Brookings
09:13played on
09:14played on for Best
09:17Moore
09:19and Robson
09:20again the angle wasn't right
09:22Bonds
09:22and a great save by Shilton
09:26Bonds caught that beautifully
09:28and Shilton
09:30ponded over magnificently
09:41and so it's Redknapp with the corner for West Ham
09:47that could so easily have been the goal to break the deadlock
09:50but for the brilliance of Shilton and there's the corner
09:52Best trying to get in on it
09:54but in fact
09:55it's a goal kick
10:08Weller
10:10Bertinall
10:12Weller
10:15Lampard very dogged and determined
10:17Best
10:19good play by Clyde Best there
10:21and now
10:23Robson to Bonds
10:23and West Ham coming forward again
10:25Redknapp
10:29a little bit of luck there for Harry Redknapp
10:31but a good looking cross
10:33Bonds to follow it in
10:34and a hammer one there
10:36Brookings to hit one
10:37Moore to try one
10:39Best to have a go
10:40and Best to have another go
10:42and now Robson
10:44now Best
10:45and still it will get through that packed Leicester City defence
10:52that was defence in enormous depth
10:54and never once did West Ham get a free shot at goal
11:01Redknapp
11:02Bonds
11:08No, it took too long and tried too much
11:10Brookings trying to squirm it through again
11:25and in fact I think it's Schoberg who is
11:29perhaps a little bit winded by it all
11:31he must have taken something in the stomach
11:32most of the Leicester defenders did
11:34during that barrage
11:37Fern
11:40McDowell
11:43Bonds
11:44back to Ferguson
11:49another enormous kick from Ferguson
11:54Manly
11:55Schoberg
11:57and he couldn't stop giving away the corner
12:09so Schoberg is going to be in the thick of it now
12:13which worth at the near post
12:14Nish at the far post
12:16and West Ham pumping men forward
12:19Lampard
12:20Redknapp
12:20cross to gain towards Best
12:22and cross getting his head to it though
12:24Lampard to drive one
12:26straight into the arms though
12:28of Peter Schilden
12:35Best
12:37Robson
12:37and more
12:43Best found very nicely because that just floated over the head of Schoberg
12:48Sammels
12:49selling a nice dummy on Best and finding Keith Weller
12:52Glover's made a spirited burst down the left
12:55and Bertinell's gone down the right
12:56but it's Sammels again
12:58and across that goes off more
13:00but straight into the arms of Ferguson
13:05Robson
13:09McDowell
13:17Billy Bonds
13:20Lampard
13:26Best was being pushed
13:29by Schoberg who was levering himself up on the West Ham players back to get a little more height
13:35it'll be Bobby Moore to take the free kick
13:39play for McDowell
13:41McDowell trying to line something up and Brookings
13:45looking down almost in surprise to find the ball at his feet
13:51Ferguson in fact a little slow it seemed to come to that one but the punch was effective
14:00Hurst
14:02Hurst
14:02Hurst again
14:10McDowell
14:18Spirit for the moment seems to have gone out of West Ham
14:20they had a very good burst at the opening part of this half
14:23but they were thrown back again by a very efficient Leicester defence
14:27at the moment they look in a bit of a loss as to how to break through
14:31Brookings to Moore if anyone can find the key it must be Moore
14:34there's the cross
14:36and Shilton grabbing that one well above the head of Best
14:44Samuels
14:46to Bertinell
14:49oh and Fern
14:50now this is a chance for Leicester with Rodney Fern
14:53and he's played it wide
14:58well that undoubtedly was just about the first real clear chance that Leicester have had in the whole match
15:03West Ham pushing so many men forward in their search for goals
15:07allowing this bloke the freedom
15:09and Ferguson coming quickly out of his goal really to make it more difficult for Fern
15:18and so Ferguson now with a goal kick
15:23certainly a warning for West Ham though
15:26Fern
15:27Moore
15:32and Brookings
15:36Lampard
15:38but Samuels
15:41looks very much as though Leicester have regained their grip and their poise in the middle of the field
15:45Weller
15:47leaving it now for Glover
15:49but three Leicester players against six from West Ham
15:54still Glover
15:56Weller
15:57played through for Fern
15:59and my goodness
16:00Redknapp was back in the nepp of time just as Fern was about to lift that left foot back
16:08and Weller now in a bit of trouble
16:10needing a bit of attention
16:13must have been caught by a West Ham player as he flicked that ball through for Fern
16:17and incidentally while Keith Weller's been getting a bit of attention in the centre circle
16:21Malcolm Manley's been getting a bit of attention from the West Ham trainer Rob Jenkins
16:25Frank Lampard at that far post
16:28so Manley's alright, so too is Weller
16:33and here comes the corner now for Leicester City
16:39More to nodded away only as far as Glover
16:44Nish
16:45Glover
16:47Oh and that leaves the field free now for Billy Bonds
16:51Clyde Best outside him
16:52Weller coming back very quickly
16:56Best now
17:00Straight at Manley
17:03But West Ham's throw
17:08Bonds
17:11Wanting to find an overhead and look for Robson
17:14but now it's Hurst
17:16Moore
17:19Almost beautifully played there for Bess but Nish sticking out the foot
17:23That looked like handball by Birchenall
17:26but it's Hurst
17:28Brookings
17:30Redknapp on the outside
17:35Moore
17:36Brookings
17:38And Redknapp and he's alright
17:42And that almost there by Robson
17:45A good piece of play by Whitworth
17:47And finally Birchen I think it was who hooked it away
17:53To Frank Lampard
17:58Crossed again there for Brookings
17:59Hit this time and what a save
18:03What a monumental save by Peter Shilton
18:08From Brookings it was dipping all the time
18:11Hit first time and perfectly
18:13And it seemed to have gone over Shilton's head
18:16And somehow he grasped his way back there
18:19To push it over
18:21Magnificent piece of world class goalkeeping
18:26Now Manly
18:27Is in fact in trouble
18:31And it looks as though he's being taken off
18:34So Alistair Brown
18:38Who is a substitute and a striker
18:41Is coming on
18:49Well the crowd still buzzing with that tremendous save by Shilton
18:56Alistair Brown
18:59Alistair Brown
19:00Alistair Brown
19:01Alistair Brown
19:01Alistair Blackburn number 12 for West Ham
19:03And here comes the corner now for West Ham
19:07Best looking for that one with his head
19:08But again the head of Schoberg was there first
19:14Lampard
19:15Of course Brown
19:16Of course Brown coming on as a striker will mean a slight rearrangement at the back for Leicester
19:20Whitworth
19:21Oh he's only nodded that as far as Robson
19:23Bonds
19:24Best to look for it
19:27And West Ham if anything a little slow to react to that one
19:30Brown
19:31Samuels
19:31Come on after him
19:33Come on after him
19:36Whitworth
19:41And now Weller
19:43Glover
19:45Robson
19:47West Ham wanting to hit it quickly forward
19:49Hurst trying to nod it onto the path of best
19:53Samuels right back there
19:56Moore
19:58Weller
19:59And now Bertinal
20:01Now something might be on because there are four of Leicester
20:03And four of West Ham back
20:07Now there are more West Ham defenders back as Bertinal finds Nish
20:13Nice ball there to Brown
20:16Bertinal trying to play it back to him again
20:23Bobby Moore now
20:25With seven minutes to go
20:31Robson
20:36Taylor
20:40Played for Hurst
20:45Redneck
20:48McDow
20:53Robson
20:54And Redneck
20:57Great concentration in defence there
20:58Robson
21:00Hoping to hook that one just inside the far post
21:02But hooking it wide
21:04He'll not be taken on his body though
21:06To give him any sort of chance at all
21:16Lampard
21:19Best going for it
21:20And Hurst is right there with him
21:22Hurst with a chance
21:23And there it is
21:24That will do
21:26And Hurst has scored
21:27The first mistake
21:29That Leicester have made in defence
21:35And so that first real mistake
21:37In the Leicester defence
21:40Gives an opening for Hurst
21:42And he makes no mistake
21:47So Geoff Hurst's fifth goal of the season
21:51And only five minutes left
22:01Extraordinary thing was how slow Leicester were to react
22:03After they'd been so quick to react to everything
22:06Cross was in there
22:08Shilton too
22:09Was a little slow to come for it
22:11And now West Hamer ahead
22:13And Bonds to take it up for it
22:17Redknapp
22:20Bonds
22:23Rookie
22:32Well that'll be a great disappointment for Jimmy Bloomfield there
22:35The Leicester manager
22:36They side defended so well
22:38And he a former West Ham player himself
22:47And you wouldn't expect Ron Greenwood there on the right to show his feelings
22:51But no doubt he's relieved
23:04Brown
23:12That's the sort of punishment you get in the first division at this sort of level
23:15One mistake
23:17And it's a mistake that more often than not
23:20Is fiercely punished
23:29And now cross
23:36Well Shilton in fact if anything was just it seemed a little bit slow to react and come out of
23:41that long ball
23:41But my goodness he's kept Leicester afloat for so long in this game
23:52So now Weller to go across and take the throw for Leicester City
23:56With three minutes to go
24:04Taylor
24:04Taylor mis-jumping is mis-jumping there
24:06And a goal
24:07By Cross
24:08Cross has equalised
24:11The man who was so responsible for the goal at the other end
24:15Now has equalised for Leicester City
24:19With three minutes to go
24:28Well while the West Ham defence
24:31Stood back for a second
24:34Cross struck
24:35And Leicester are level
24:41So 1-1
24:46And now Brown
24:47And now Brown
24:48Well what a tremendous finish we've got now
24:50Two goals in the last five minutes
24:52And Fern
24:54Taylor there to give away the corner
25:00And I suppose when you've seen Leicester defend for so long
25:04You wonder why they came with so many defensive ideas when they can strike out as quickly and as effectively
25:10as that
25:11So Bobby Moore perhaps thinking that they got two points
25:15Now facing this corner
25:16And maybe looking to save one
25:19Nish with a corner
25:20But Moore to nod it away
25:29Glover to take the throw
25:32And there goes the final whistle
25:34No goals for 85 minutes
25:37And two in the last five minutes
25:40Graham Cross who was right at the centre of the storm that allowed West Ham to go in and score
25:43with Jeff Hurst the number 9
25:45And then Cross himself scoring the equaliser for Leicester City
25:50So there we are a dramatic finish to the game
25:53And a final score here at Upton Park
25:56Which reads West Ham United 1
25:58Leicester City 1
26:11So a good finish and a 1-1 draw and still to come for you to enjoy on the big
26:14match today we have highlights of Huddersfield against Manchester United and Wolves against Southampton
26:19I suppose one of the puzzling aspects of West Ham's performance yesterday was that it took them so long to
26:25find a breakthrough
26:26I've seen them now twice in the past week against Leeds and against Leicester
26:29And in both those games they must have had all of 80% of the game and yet in 180
26:33minutes of football just one goal to show for it
26:36I've no doubt Clyde Best's niggling ankle injury had something to do with that
26:40But then let's give them credit too
26:41So too did the wonderful defensive barriers put up by both Leeds and Leicester
26:45That had plenty to do with it as well
26:48Ironically the one mistake that Leicester made yesterday cost them the goal
26:52Cross and Schauburg I thought were magnificent in the way that they'd handled Hurst and Best
26:55And yet it was a mistake with Cross at the centre of it that caused all the trouble
26:59That long clearance out of defence and Best not for the first time in the afternoon putting defence under pressure
27:04from those sort of clearances
27:05Cross slips and Hurst snaps on a chance that he so rarely misses
27:09You might say that at that moment Best could be standing in an offside position
27:12Although we can't see outside the camera's range whether perhaps another defender was putting him onside
27:18Now let's have some more action and for this in fact we go to the Midlands
27:21Where in fact goalkeepers had a very tough day of it
27:24The pictures come from ATV, the commentator is Hugh Johns
27:27As we pick up Wolves against Southampton and Wolves of the team in the plain shirts
27:36Derek Parkin looking for the long one
27:40Easy interception
27:42Jerry Taylor number five in place of Frank Munro
27:46Still having trouble with that leg injury of his
27:51As though it might keep Frank Munro out of the Scottish squad
27:53At Hamlet Park
27:55On Wednesday
27:58First free kick of the afternoon
28:02And more giving the kick to Wolves
28:09John McCall
28:10John McCall
28:11Again the long one
28:13Dugan
28:16Parkin for
28:18Wagstaff to chase
28:21Fries with Wagstaff as he has been from the kick off
28:26Hegan
28:26Hegan
28:27Good running for Hegan
28:28Oh and a chance for Dugan
28:31Derek Dugan
28:33But the construction of that goal
28:37Without any doubt at all
28:40The beauty of the pass from Danny Hegan
28:44Wagstaff, Hegan and Dugan the killer stroke on the end of it
28:51Starting on the left side again through Parkin for Wolves
28:53As so many of their attacks have done so far
28:57Wagstaff
28:59Daly's gone down the touch line
29:02Good interception by Brian O'Neill who's tucked his shirt in for a change
29:06Steve Daly
29:11Daly again clobbering the left foot
29:16Back to Mark his full league debut with a goal obviously
29:27Flick on by
29:29Shannon but
29:30Taylor gets it forward
29:32Kirka
29:39Daly beginning to get good encouragement from the crowd now
29:44Come on Tom
29:48Joe Kirka for Shannon
29:50Far side is Payne
29:53The side, Kirka
29:55Gabriel
29:59Shannon
30:01Terry Payne on the right side
30:07Payne, good little chip ball and that's Kirka
30:10Joe Kirka
30:12What a neat little goal and what a superb run
30:15It's 1-1 now
30:20Joe Kirka
30:21Scoring his first goal of the season and he hasn't had too many in his whole career
30:35First free kick of the game, of the second half that is
30:40Going to Wolves, obviously for something somebody said
30:42Where's he going back?
30:48Indirect free kick
30:51Indirect free kick
30:51No defensive wall
30:54Wagstaff to Wakwa
30:57Oh, and what a goal!
30:59No, no
31:00It's been ruled out
31:02It's been ruled out
31:07It was an indirect free kick
31:09It was an indirect free kick and referee Styles has his hands still in the air
31:13Must be honest, I was caught too
31:16Stokes
31:18Gabriel the challenge with McColl
31:20Bayley
31:23Bayley away
31:30And that's Southampton ball
31:42Terry Payne taking lots of time
31:48Gabriel for Shannon
31:52Terry Payne
31:53Terry Payne
31:54Oh, what a good return ball for Shannon
31:56Whoops!
31:57Indirect free kick
32:01And the
32:07Referee
32:07Referee being mobbed then by Southampton players
32:10Demanding the penalty kick
32:14Indirect, inside the box
32:15It is
32:19So that none of us, including me, get caught out again
32:22It being an indirect free kick
32:24The ball must strike somebody before it goes into the net
32:29I don't think Terry Payne will make the same mistake that Wagstaff did
32:33And that's Shannon
32:35That wasn't a bad goal at all, at all, at all
32:39That's the way to do it while they're still hanging about
32:41And Cox really looking desolate on his line there
32:47Five minutes into the second half and it's 2-1 to Southampton
32:52Wagstaff with the kick
32:55And away by Kirk up for a corner
32:57And the pressure still boiling down in that penalty area
33:01That's where all the action is now
33:06And with tempers on a razor edge
33:09Anything can happen in there
33:11Shaw
33:14O'Neal got it away, Park in
33:18Locked out of it by Terry Payne, that's a free kick
33:23And the fans quick to jump on Southampton's backs again
33:27Hegan with a kick
33:31Stokes just up anywhere
33:35Gabriel thundering into McColl
33:37And O'Neal just kicking it anywhere
33:51Steve Daley tied in behind the Southampton bet line
33:57Wagstaff
34:00That was Shannon who got it away
34:02Southampton dragging everybody back to weather this storm
34:0815 minutes in the second half gone
34:1115 minutes in the second half gone
34:11And Wolves really hammering and looking for this equalizer
34:15Bailey a long one, aiming for Dugan, he hits it down
34:18Kirk up away
34:28And again Wolves come storming in again
34:31John McColl
34:33Dugan
34:34Must be him with a chance
34:35He's there!
34:37Derek Dugan
34:40Dugan
34:41Dugan makes it 2-2 and there is a very disconsolate goalkeeper
34:44And a very happy Derek Dugan
34:45Look at the smile on his face
34:482-2 the scoreline
34:51John McColl
34:52The man who slammed the ball forward
34:54McGrath failed in the tackle on Dugan
34:57And he saw the opening on the far post
34:59Scores his second goal of the game
35:00Now we're wondering, can he get another hand-trick?
35:03This seems surely to be the long one
35:08Dugan was in the sandwich between McGrath and Kirk up
35:12Waxed up
35:16Well done!
35:18Dugan just
35:19And he's pointed to the penalty
35:22McGrath I think it was who got the hand to it
35:25Referee Styles right in the middle there
35:28From this angle it was difficult to see
35:30Dugan went in on that ball
35:32Referee Styles
35:34Has pointed to the spot
35:37Dugan is already over the ball
35:40Dugan will be looking now for a hat-trick
35:48No, Dugan's put the ball away
35:52The penalty kick man will be parking
35:58The moment of truth then for goalkeeper Martin
36:04Ten minutes to go, to the end of the game
36:06Parkin with the kick
36:08And no, it's gonna be taken again
36:11Referee Styles was blowing his whistle as Parkin went up
36:15What a let-off!
36:17Referee Styles calling people over to him
36:22Referee Styles had blown his whistle before Parkin took the kick
36:26Indicating that some infringement was on
36:28And that he didn't intend for the kick to be taken at that moment
36:31So Parkin who hits the post
36:34Gets himself another crop at it
36:36And that's a very nervous full-back out there at this moment
36:40Here he goes
36:43That one he scores
36:47It's 3-2 then
36:49For Southampton
36:513-2 against Southampton
36:53Derek Parkin
36:55Scorer of one goal, Dugan going through in the picture
36:57The scorer of the two previous goals
37:01That's a free kick
37:03Shannon sent tumbling by Taylor, number 5
37:07Taylor doing a fair bit of graft here this afternoon
37:11Replacing the big Frank Munro
37:14He's had three games earlier this season for Munro
37:20Terry Payne, the chap who could really place a free kick so beautifully
37:24See what he does with this one
37:29The graft's in there
37:31Fair bit of firing and fighting going on
37:33It was Hugh Curran who whacked it away
37:37Dugan then for Shaw
37:44Dugan has Hegan to play with out there
37:46If Wolves get another one now it would be the killer punch
37:50Hegan
37:52There it is, Steve Daly
37:55Steve Daly
37:56And there's the picture of a happy fella
38:004-2 to Wolves now
38:03And Steve Daly
38:04Scoring a goal in the first full league match that he's ever played in
38:09And it all looked so easy
38:10But it was Danny Hegan who set it up
38:13Dugan was involved
38:14Hegan the man who set up the earlier goal for Dugan
38:18Setting up a perfect, unmissable chance then for Steve Daly
38:21And he took it perfectly
38:24So a miserable afternoon for Southampton that for a long time
38:27Had looked such a promising one
38:28That controversial penalty
38:29Incidentally Billy Wright who was at the game
38:31Says that the referee told Derek Parkin who was taking it for Wolves
38:35Not to take it until he the referee gave him the whistle
38:38And it looked very much as though Parkin was trying to jump the gun
38:41And you'll notice that the referee was whistling up just before he took the kick
38:44Obviously to stop Parkin taking it
38:46But Parkin was already well into his stride
38:48He hit the post
38:49But the referee wasn't ready for the penalty to be taken
38:51So obviously it had to be taken again
38:53Which seems to be a little generous towards Wolves
38:56A little hard on Southampton
38:57But the referee must make sure that everything is right when a penalty is being taken
39:00And that's what Keith Stiles was doing up there at Molyneux yesterday
39:13Now we come to our last match today
39:15And it's mighty Manchester United
39:17Yesterday they attracted 33,000 fans to Huddersfield
39:20Where the Yorkshire television cameras were
39:22Where the commentator was Keith Macklin
39:23Huddersfield are in the stripes
39:25We join the match in the second half
39:27Stand by for another Manchester United explosion
39:31Out comes Stephanie a beautiful catch
39:36Kidd
39:38Charlton
39:42Kidd inside McGill
39:47Garling running
39:49Garling
39:50And Clarke getting there with the first timer
39:59Sandler
39:59Charlton
40:01Sadler
40:07Kidd
40:08Morgan
40:14Sadler
40:16Kidd trying to find Morgan
40:18He has another chance from that header from Chapman
40:22Law again
40:23Law again
40:23For Vest
40:25Vest
40:25Still going
40:26This is one of them is it?
40:28It's Law
40:29Charlton's on mark
40:30Can you tell who the topic is there?
40:31What a chapter of misses
40:32But the ball is still
40:35Well it was still in
40:37United's court
40:38First Vest couldn't put it home
40:40Then Law and the ball went over Charlton's head
40:52War
40:52Worthington
40:53Smith
40:55Lawson
40:56And there's been some pushing in the penalty area again
40:58ки
40:589
40:58Beck
40:592
41:22Kidd
41:222
41:23Morgan, Cherry, Hutt, Gowling waiting for it, to Charlton, hooking it on for best, Clark,
41:38Law taking it off the toe of Clark, to Charlton, and wide of the post, and Manchester United
41:47really generating quite a head of steam at the moment, and this man, Bobby Charlton,
41:51right in the thick of it, all the time, Gowling, Gowling, body check by Smith,
42:11Sadler, taking it quickly to Morgan, Morgan trying to go outside, Chapman,
42:20in goes Best, it has to be, George Best, you keep him quiet for so long,
42:35Best,
42:40Kidd, Charlton, Kidd on the left, Gowling and Best moving into the middle, Law inevitably,
42:52Gowling, leaving it for Law, this time, the flag does not go up, and Law has scored, he's poached one
43:00at last,
43:00and I wonder if he'll give a look, and the line went, no, it's a goal, it's most definitely a
43:07goal,
43:0926 minutes are gone,
43:15Morgan,
43:20Morgan going round Hutt,
43:24McGill coming across to help,
43:26down goes Morgan, up goes the linesman's flag,
43:28free kick to Manchester United,
43:46Morgan with the kick,
43:49Charlton,
43:52Hutt getting it away,
43:53it's three against three now,
43:55it's Lawson, Krizwicky and Worthington,
43:57Hoy coming up to reinforce them,
43:58Dunn Sadler,
44:00back,
44:01a good shot,
44:01a good save,
44:03what a fine snapshot that one by Jimmy Lawson,
44:12Sadler,
44:13Morgan,
44:14McGill coming up like an express train,
44:16Law,
44:17Morgan,
44:18and McGill,
44:22looks as early as he comes out,
44:25and Jimmy McGill,
44:26won't like that,
44:27he's already under suspended sentences,
44:29Jimmy McGill,
44:49Allen leaving it,
44:52Kidd getting up,
44:53McGill,
44:54oh it's a low,
44:55what a sitter,
44:56Kidd,
44:57Charlton,
44:58Kidd,
44:58who's going to hit it,
44:59Charlton,
45:00what a mess,
45:04well either Kidd or Charlton could have had that gift,
45:10Charlton the man,
45:12who slotted it in for number three,
45:14with the Huddersfield Town defence,
45:16in an absolutely hopeless tangle,
45:24so 3-0 to Manchester United,
45:25back on top of the first division,
45:27that's it from the programme today,
45:29hope you've enjoyed it,
45:30we can't leave you with anyone better today,
45:31than Peter Shilton,
45:33Redknapp,
45:34Redknapp trying again to get behind that,
45:36Leicester defence has crossed it,
45:38for Robson,
45:38and my goodness,
45:40how did Shilton get that one,
45:42Moore,
45:42and Robson,
45:44again the angle wasn't right,
45:46Bonds,
45:46and a great save by Shilton,
