00:02Smashed doors and what appears to be accelerant on the floor.
00:05It was 3.30 in the morning when police were called to the fire at La Di Da nightclub.
00:10A security guard at the club telling the ABC...
00:13Weeks ago, the security boss got word that this was the next place to be attacked.
00:19I think it was like two or three weeks ago.
00:21And yeah, but it didn't end up happening.
00:23But we were waiting for it to eventually happen.
00:25Amid the spate of attacks, it's claimed a threatening text message has been sent to multiple venues saying,
00:31We're after you, your family, your businesses, homes and souls.
00:36We will take it by force if you don't comply.
00:39The police can't help you.
00:40It's inevitable.
00:41We won't stop till we get what we want.
00:44La Di Da is the latest venue to be targeted and is now under investigation by Operation Eclipse,
00:50which is yet to determine if the wave of attacks are being spurred by the illegal alcohol trade.
00:56Well, when the government taxes the way this one does, that's what you get.
01:02Their taxes are effectively funding organised crime in this country.
01:07That's what's happening.
01:08Neighbouring businesses have told us they're too afraid to go on camera
01:11because the latest arson attack has them on tenterhooks.
01:15One owner says he's worried he's losing money today because his front door is cordoned off.
01:20Another owner, who owns multiple venues across the city, is worried one of them could be targeted next.
01:25I think it's only a matter of time before there's some sort of catastrophe.
01:29Either through someone being hurt inadvertently in a firebombing attack
01:32or someone being poisoned by illicit alcohol.
01:37An anxious industry hoping police will soon find not just the perpetrators,
01:41but those who are pulling the strings.
