00:00Isn't it interesting to look at both Cam Young and Matt Fitzpatrick and where they were really like, let's go
00:07back just to the beginning or this time last year.
00:10I know this is where kind of Matt Fitzpatrick's game sort of picked up, but you know, Matt Fitzpatrick looks
00:14kind of lost.
00:15He's, he's, you know, we talked to Mark Blackburn about how he'd gone on that speed chase, allowed him to
00:20hit that big bomb draw driver out the tee,
00:22but it started to bleed into his approach shots and his irons and he wasn't playing very good golf.
00:27And so he had to kind of retool and change some things around Cam at that point in time had
00:30not won a PGA tour event.
00:32And just the way both of those guys go about getting it done.
00:35You mentioned, of course, the, the, the stuff with, with Cam and the putting and really, you know,
00:40working on the minutia of the setup and things like that and paired with the sort of mental approach that
00:45we've seen just be so great under pressure.
00:48And then also talking about a guy at Matt Fitzpatrick that is just so detail oriented, does all this work
00:53with Mark Blackburn.
00:54Or also you talked about this amazing, you know, competitor, like his mindset,
00:58the way he has that sort of Ryder cup metal and all these sort of pressure situations.
01:03It, those two guys in terms of storylines in the PGA tour event, I just think,
01:07and I can't wait till we get into major season and see how those guys perform,
01:10because I think they're both such cool examples of the way you can go from right in the sky.
01:17If we're not even talking about him as a factor in a lot of events to like these two guys,
01:21I might take them in a best ball match right now against Scotty and Rory, the way they're playing the
01:25form there.
01:25And it's amazing.
01:26Shoot.
01:27I mean, Cam Young was my pick, obviously to win the masters.
01:29Fitzpatrick was the guy I was deciding between with him and like Cam Young,
01:33Ludwig O'Berg and Matt Fitzpatrick have been the three best players outside of Scotty and Rory this year.
01:39And you could have seen it coming, you know,
01:41coming out of that Ryder cup where Cam Young was undoubtedly the best United States player.
01:46Matt Fitzpatrick, I think was the biggest surprise of a player who had not played well in the Ryder cups,
01:52go out and be a huge asset for Luke Donald and perform very well.
01:56And then you go back, like you said, a year ago, and you look at their official world golf rankings.
01:59A year ago is actually a good time to go back and look because it's the highest their world ranking
02:04was.
02:05I mean, Fitzpatrick, he was before the PGA championship at the Truist was 85th in the world.
02:11Cam Young right at the PGA championship was around 67th in the world.
02:15Two guys that weren't exempt in any majors heading into the following season.
02:21What does Matt Fitzpatrick do?
02:22Well, he goes out, almost has a chance to win at the PGA championship at Quayle, kind of out of
02:27nowhere.
02:27It's like, oh, well, I guess Fitz, he's back.
02:29And then he went on to real however many top tens, 15 top tens or so since in multiple wins.
02:35And then Cam Young, of course, getting that one at the Wyndham, which we always said,
02:40if he can just win one, the floodgates could open for this guy.
02:45And I think with what we saw early in his career and what he was potentially capable of,
02:52of not only winning on the PGA Tour, but becoming elite player, but then also getting in a signature event
02:59model like this
03:00and dominate the best players in the world.
03:02And not many players can do this.
03:05It's very, very few that aren't Scottie and Rory that can go show up at an event like this
03:10and not only win, but win going away.
