00:37will they add a veteran wide receiver to bolster the ranks for malik willis make the offense a little
00:44more potent have a leader if you will and the story mentioned was debo samuel stefan diggs
00:51and juan jennings yes so and and there's a couple other vets out there do you think that would be
00:57a wise use of their money to bring in a veteran receiver well i don't think that a player like
01:03that would necessarily cost them a lot of money especially a guy like juan jennings it's not
01:08going to be cheap but you're also not paying top dollar for a wide receiver that is at that caliber
01:14i think juan jennings would be honestly the perfect person to add to that room i'm not certain
01:21stefan diggs is that guy uh debo was productive at times uh for washington but he's probably over
01:30the hill at this point we've seen the best of debo samuel i still think juan jennings has a lot

01:35give um at this point in his career and obviously you know the dolphins are not a juan jennings or

01:40debo samuel or a stefan diggs away but it is a very young and inexperienced wide receiver room
01:47and adding a guy like juan jennings or a different veteran not named stefan diggs might be an
01:53advantageous move for this group as they rebuild and i'm enamored in this trial with stefan diggs
01:59i haven't watched much i can't see in the headline i get the push notifications but i'm really not
02:03following it you have to watch this this testimony so what what it i get without getting into details

03:59is it to see if malik willis is the guy for the future his evaluation because what juwan jennings
04:06is going to add an extra four or 500 yards to the receiving room what's that really going to do

04:11the team moving forward it might what if he wins one more game like what what's the goal of
04:16bringing in anybody at this point well i think that number one it would be a help to malik willis
04:23but who's the most experienced wide receiver in that room right now tutu atwell malik washington
04:28like it just there's there is no real veteran presence in there right now and that would be
04:34the reason i would bring him in and who knows i know that the nfl trade headline is not like

04:40or like major league baseball or the nba but like maybe juwan jennings has a good season and you get
04:47to the trade deadline you can get a draft pick back for him from a contending team so i i

04:52really think there's a a situation where bringing in specifically juwan jennings would be a negative
04:58for this team if tutu atwell has a good season and we've made him this punchline on this show
05:04we were going to look i think we've made him a punchline uh we've made that's the part i don't
05:12think we're i yeah what we're making a punchline is there seems to be a lack of talent no i

05:23want to say talent proven proven names proven talent and i'm not getting on you appell i've i've
05:28literally made tutu atwell a punchline i i just think it's funny you you kind of said the same thing
05:33but to piggyback off of crowder's question do wins matter when considering the type of player
05:41or the the veteran that you're trying to bring in because he said what does juwan jennings do
05:45add a win and in my mind it's not about does he add a win does he add two wins
05:49does he add no wins
05:51it's about can you evaluate malik willis in more opportunities with him than without him and i think
05:58that has to be the the the determining factor in the type of free agent and the money you're spending
06:05totally again it's all part of it the dolphins like obviously they're not going to go into this season
06:10trying to lose but we can all see that roster and we can all see what they're up against and
06:15what the
06:15cap situation looks like this is a transition season for them to fully dive in after this and
06:20really start to retool hopefully what they've added in the draft makes that a little bit quicker of a
06:26process but solana's totally right like it is to see if you have something long term in malik willis
06:33but at the same time like we've talked about well we know this team is probably going to win what
06:38anywhere from three to six like six games is best case for this team four and a half is the
06:43under
06:44it's it's all about how it looks is this an aaron glenn jet situation where there's incompetence
06:51all over the board or is this a brian flores year one where they scratch and claw to five wins

06:58surprise you a couple times and they're generally competitive if the process looks good and if juwan
07:04jennings being added gives malik willis an opportunity to look better then i think that that is a success
07:11you're just looking for good process this year the record's not going to be good you're just looking
07:16for good process and not a disaster and there may be i think there may be games where they get
07:22blown
07:22out and it looks horrible but on the whole does it look competitive do you see this pointing in the
07:28right direction are the young guys developing i think you want to give fans a reason to be hopeful
07:33for the new regime i think you want to give players a reason to be hopeful so you have to
07:40have at least
07:41some talent at skill positions in order to be able to do so especially you know we've talked about
07:47does devon h and really want to be there does he want to be a part of something like you
07:52don't want
07:52him to sit through a season that just has nothing but him and say to him yeah yeah yeah but

10:03up and down but you've seen sandy get back to the sandy we're accustomed to max meyer has been great

10:15lives jansen junk has been really good and i know that there have been some times where the bullpen
10:23has faltered but there are a couple guys two maybe three guys in that pen who have been really good
10:29like john king is a lefty they brought in uh this offseason he's got an era under one michael
10:35peterson's been very good in the situations they've thrown him into and i i think that and of course
10:41tyler phillips crowder's favorite besides javier edwards uh tyler phillips has been really good at
10:47whatever they've thrown uh him in as well uh disappointing jacob marcy is still getting on
10:52base but his batting average isn't there it's been a weird start for him i think he'll eventually
10:57come around uh augustine ramirez has obviously been disappointing how his start of the season has
11:02gone i think we all expected the defense to be subpar but at least last year he was hitting well
11:08hit over 20 home runs this year the power is just not there and hopefully he's able to
11:12uh regroup in triple a and come back soon but um i think jack put it well that there's a
11:20bit of both
11:21of those things what's gone right what's gone wrong and that's why you see a team that has kind of
11:25leveled out and they're right around 500 two or three games uh around 500 so um i think that maybe
11:33there's been some frustration along the way but overall they're a competitive team pretty much every
11:39single night and can you give me tyler phillips number so i can brag about that because he slaps
11:45himself i just love how he approached the plate next time i see him i'll tell him tell him i
