00:00Just one pick from that one, what are your thoughts on the second half recovery but also
00:05then conceding under the stoppage time goal as well, there must be a lot of various emotions
00:10going through there?
00:12Well you finished with that negative there didn't you, of losing the goal, what we've
00:17done in the last two games, so that was disappointing but it was a brilliant finish by Doku, fantastic
00:24finish by him, so I have to give him credit for that.
00:30Much better performance in the second half, that's certainly probably the worst we've
00:34played in the first half in my mind against any of the top teams but that could easily
00:39have been down to the quality and the levels of Manchester City and how well they are performing
00:49at the moment, we couldn't beat their intensity, their pressure they had on us was really big
00:58but we've certainly done a lot better in the second half and we got pushed around a wee
01:02bit in the first half as well but we made a better go at it in the second half.
01:07What did you put the second half improvement down to, what was it that you asked them to
01:13do?
01:13I think players just needed to be told exactly and I thought once they got the message they
01:19carried it out much better and look we missed a couple of big chances to make it four, so
01:27it says something about it but Man City in the first half, the biggest plus at half time was
01:34that we were only 1-0 down, because we were only 1-0 down gave us a chance to sort
01:39of stay
01:40in the game and try and find something from it.
01:52David, I don't know if you had a chance to look at it but obviously there was a penalty check
01:56that was
01:57dismissed by VAR for a foul in the box, what did you make of that?
02:00Yeah, I've seen it, I've had a look. If that doesn't get given as a penalty then it's an
02:08absolute free for all from now on. I might have to start coaching my defenders how to defend
02:13differently, completely. It looks like now you're able to sort of grapple and wrestle
02:18on the ground if you want. I'm absolutely amazing. Look, this is on the back of a terrible
02:23decision at West Ham where we don't get a penalty there either. Hey, that's not the reason
02:28why we don't get the result tonight but I think it's another pointer just to say that I find
02:33it really hard that that wasn't given. I think most football supporters will find that really
02:39difficult that that penalty wasn't given, people who watch football.
02:44Did you get an explanation from the officials?
02:51Yeah. Can you share?
02:53Yeah, but I won't bother, no.
02:57Joe?
03:00Did you have any frustration with the timing of the goal?
03:03No. No, because we brought two subs on and, but I'll tell you one of the frustrations about
03:08it. They're allowed to add 30 seconds on so he was entitled with six minutes over and I think
03:13it was, so if you add it up, we'd go to 67, 67 is what I'm saying, 97. But the
03:20difference was is
03:21the first sub we made, our player was already off the pitch. So actually, there would have been no need
03:27to add the 30 seconds on, really. But because of the rule, I'm guessing he's just said, hey, I've got
03:32to add
03:3230 seconds on if you make a sub in injury time, which we did do.
03:36Yeah. You spoke well to you, I know Barry going into this game obviously came on and got two goals,
03:40really important
03:41for him.
03:42Yeah, very important for him. I'm pleased for him, because it gets him up. I don't know, he
03:49probably got himself seven or eight goals now, maybe more, so, very good.
03:53Two big performances from Merlin Roll and Timmeroven as well, you must have been really happy
03:56about how they did when they came in.
03:58Yeah, they both came in and I thought they both done great. We needed another midfield player
04:02to deal with the way O'Reilly plays for Manchester City, with an injury to Ghana, so it made it
04:10quite simple.
04:12And just in relation to address, how long do you think he'd be out for, do you know?
04:20Any further questions? Richard?
04:27David, obviously it was a big game for you, but also a big game in the title race. I mean,
04:32you know Mikel very well. Are you expecting a message from him afterwards?
04:38No, I'll now and again speak Mikel, but no, I think Mikel's got his own things he'll have to
04:43take and focus on, you know, winning his own games. Like tonight, I'm disappointed now
04:49because we were on the verge of taking three points against the best team at the moment
04:55in the Premier League. Whether they go on to prove that they're the best team by winning
04:58it, I don't know, but there's no doubt that they're playing better than any other team in
05:01the Premier League. So, I needed for us to get three points tonight, we're doing a huge,
05:09huge result for us, isn't it? Let's be fair. At 3-1, you're thinking this is going to be the
05:14case
05:15and we gave them a goal, which was ridiculous to make it 3-2.
05:21Any further questions? Yep.
05:27Hi David. One of the biggest features of your games against the big team so far this season,
05:33particularly at home, has been the aggression you've been able to play with. It felt like at half-time,
05:38the players kind of needed reminding of that. They came out flying out of traps in the second half.
05:43Is that something you did have to remind them of? Yeah. Yeah. I thought the first half we were.
05:49As I said, I wouldn't say it was the worst we've played, but I think it was the worst we've
05:53played
05:53against any of the better teams. The better teams, we respect the teams maybe up around the top.
06:01But I've got to say, I thought they were really, really good as well.
06:05You know, their pressures, we could hardly breathe, whatever, we couldn't get a pass out,
06:09we couldn't kick it along, they took it off us. You know, any duels, they sort of took them off
06:15us as well.
06:16So the players just needed a bit of reminding of what they have to do as well.
06:20And I thought we'd done a really good job in the second half to turn it into a game which
06:25probably Man City didn't want to have.
06:30And we'd probably got ourselves in such a good position. The crowd were great behind us.
06:35And it played a big part. We just let it go a little bit at the end.
06:41Do you hope you can take that mentality, that mindset into the final three games?
06:46And who knows where you could end up and what that could mean for the European ambitions?
06:50Yeah, I think that the players have had a great mentality all season. I really do.
06:54I think they've done a great job with the results in the main.
07:00That will be tough for us to make Europe, I think, at the moment.
07:03You know, three points tonight might have made me start talking or feeling a bit more healthier about it.
07:08Getting one keeps me, keeps me still dreaming there's a chance.
07:12But I've been talking too much all season about it, so I'm fed up talking about it now.
07:18On that now, thanks everyone. Cheers.
