00:00breaking news there you are a big-time Yankees fan same thing back in my day where I'm looking
00:04at some of the announcers that I absolutely love Harry the K Harry Callis in Philadelphia when he
00:09passed away it was a devastating moment back then I believe in 2009 I want to say it was out
00:14at that
00:15point now you have John Sterling legendary voice of the Yankees passes away at 87 years old yeah I
00:22I love Sterling that's one of those things where I know some people maybe on the outside had
00:28differing opinions but if you're a if you're a local Yankee fan especially like you're on the
00:37drive home with dad he's got the call on like you've listened to Sterling as much as any commentator
00:45and the one thing is and again like I can't speak for every other broadcast right but him coming up
00:51with his little slogans for the home runs were a treat because some of them were great some of them
00:56were awful right and like the other day honestly like I watched Ben Rice hit a home run I'm like
01:02I wonder if he still like had a call in his mind for like Rice-Aroni I don't know what
01:06it would have
01:07been I would have loved it though so um yeah absolutely uh a sad thing to see but I'll always
01:14kind of cherish John's time uh on that call for Yankee Radio
01:17you
