00:00How do you go from being the greatest owner in Red Sox history with John Henry
00:05to arguably being the worst owner in Red Sox history?
00:10I mean, this guy reversed the curse of the babe.
00:13And all of a sudden now you're having people screaming in Boston,
00:17sell the team.
00:18They end up blowing out Alex Cora.
00:20By the way, how about this one, George?
00:2348 hours later, he's offered the Phillies job.
00:26So again, was it knee-jerk?
00:28George, what's happening in Boston?
00:30I mean, John Henry, he's hearing it right now from the Red Sox faithful.
00:34It is not going well in Boston.
00:37Well, he's been hearing it for a while, right?
00:39They let Mookie Betts go pretty much for nothing here, and he's a superstar here.
00:42The Rafael Devers trade last year I think was a very good trade for Boston
00:45to get out of all of that contract there.
00:47I don't think that's going to age well at all.
00:48And San Francisco are paying for it already, literally there.
00:51I mean, I heard an interesting stat yesterday, Dan.
00:54For the first time since 2004, the Red Sox don't have a World Series champion
00:58in their dugout.
00:59And that's like, wow.
01:00You realize how many chances they've won here, but since they fired everybody
01:03or traded everybody, hey, they're gone here.
01:05There seems to be a power grab to me that Breslau wanted complete control.
01:09We've heard this before.
01:09They wanted to get rid of everybody anyway when he first came over here,
01:12but he was talked out of it.
01:14You said it wasn't even 48 hours, Dan.
01:16I think it was the next morning when Dombrowski's like, hey, Alex,
01:19you want to come manage?
01:20You know, and by the way, I don't think that Thompson was fired
01:24because they wanted Cora.
01:25Thompson had his own issues there in Philadelphia.
01:27And we know Mendoza with the Mets probably has to go too.
01:30Not necessarily their fault, mind you.
01:32And GM deserves a lot of blame here too, which they always do, by the way.
01:35But the manager's always the first person here.
01:37Surprised they fired Cora.
01:39I mean, you want to argue who the best manager in baseball is, fine,
01:42we can do that all day.
01:42But he's certainly top five, right?
01:44I mean, I'm a Yankee fan.
01:46Would have no problem if Alex Cora wants to come to the Bronx.
01:48He's not going to.
01:49I fully believe next year in spring training,
01:52he'll be the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies.
01:54I think Alex said, hey, what?
01:56I can have the summer off, get paid,
01:57and still get whatever job I want next year?
01:59Sounds good.
02:00I'll be on a beach, boys.
