00:00All right, so the rest of the season for the Yankees is going to be predominantly hanging on the hopes
00:04of Aaron Judge
00:04because his battery mate, so to speak, the guy with the other big bat in the lineup, Giancarlo Stanton, re
00:10-injured himself.
00:11And this time it's not the same injury. It's a different injury, apparently, as reports say that he's injured another
00:16calf
00:17and now his future for the season is in doubt. His future in baseball is not in doubt, Tom,
00:22because he's still set to make a ton of money next year.
00:25So I don't know what and where Stanton will end up playing.
00:28I'm going to guess the Yankees are sort of going to get tired of this eventually and say to themselves,
00:32you know, we can't go in counting on this guy anymore. That's not going to happen next year.
00:36But what do you make of this injury? And, you know, certainly for Big G, he's had a fantastic career.
00:41And I mean, maybe in the end, a Hall of Fame career. I'm not sure.
00:44He's going to be one of those borderline guys, I think. What do you make of this latest news?
00:48You know, I'm not too surprised about it. We see this across all sports where an older player that has
00:55a lot of injury history,
00:56they're working their way back from one injury. And I don't want to say because they're exerting themselves,
01:01they end up re-injuring something else because they're straining themselves in order to get back.
01:05And this is just what causes more and more setbacks as he's trying to recover from one thing.
01:10Now he has to stop that and also try to recover from something else.
01:13So I think he doesn't play at all this season. You know, like I said, the Yankees are relying on
01:18Ballinger,
01:18who is doing a rehab assignment, and Judge, who the recent report is he's swinging off a tee at this
01:24point.
01:24So I think we can just cross off Stanton from the list. He just won't be there.
01:28It's down to Ballinger and Judge at this point.
