00:00How about this story that's going on at Texas Tech with this kid right now that, you know, he signs
00:04a six million dollar Brendan Soresby.
00:07He signs a six million dollar nil deal and it comes out now that he was betting in high school
00:12and he was also betting at Indiana when he was the backup quarterback.
00:16Do you think we're going to see more of this issue and how can the NCAA or maybe some of
00:21these programs, how can they put some safeguards up for this?
00:25I mean, with the legalization of sports betting, now, you know, the feds can monitor the U.S. sports books
00:31where before most of the money was coming in offshore or on the street with street bookmakers at your corner
00:36bodega at the pizza shop.
00:38You know, in South Philly, there used to be a bunch of bookmakers everywhere you turn, there was a bookmaker.
00:42And nowadays, it's mostly online. It's mostly, you know, the MGMs, the DraftKings, the FanDuel.
00:48So, yeah, there's a lot of savings already put in where a ton of money is put in on a
00:53certain college football prop bet.
00:54You know, they look to see who's betting and why are they betting it? Is there an injury?
00:59But if something doesn't make sense, yeah, the red flags go off.
01:01So with the legalization of sports betting, there's more parameters set up for the feds to get involved if they
01:06do think something shady is going on.
