New Delhi: In a shocking incident, IRCTC staff serving onboard the Vande Bharat Express were seen physically assaulting each other at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station early Friday morning, October 17.

The incident occurred before the 22470 Hazrat Nizamuddin–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express was set to depart for Gwalior. A viral video shows two groups of onboard staff throwing dustbins, punching, and whipping belts at each other in full public view — resembling a “Royal Rumble” scene, as stunned passengers watched.

The brawl reportedly broke out around 5:49 am, about 40 minutes before departure. The violent altercation has raised serious concerns about passenger safety and staff discipline on premium trains like the Vande Bharat.

So far, IRCTC and Indian Railways have not issued any official statement regarding the cause of the clash or disciplinary action against the staff involved.
