00:00Do you have to get up to go to school?
00:02Or do you have to get your children to go to school?
00:05I, for example, had to wake up at the 4.30am and go to the 5.20am, 5.30am.
00:10All this is routine to be able to get time to school,
00:12sit in my place and ready to start classes at 6.30am.
00:16Un project of law wants to avoid just that it continues to be repeated.
00:20The proposal, known as Estudios y el Madrugón,
00:23is impulsed by the senators Alejandro Chacón, of the Liberal Party,
00:26and Guido Echeverry, of the Alianza Verde,
00:28and only two debates on that side to become a law.
00:32Before you pass the exam in the Congress,
00:34it is worth revising it.
00:36Well, although it can be attractive to parents and students,
00:39many actors of the educational system
00:41ask not to lose focus on the Colombian context.
00:44For example, these transformations end up reducing the academic burden
00:48or affecting the teaching process.
00:50In Colombia, there are several challenges that cannot be underestimated,
00:53such as the high number of mothers' homes,
00:55or the absence of infrastructure in various regions.
00:58Before advancing on this evaluation, let's go for parts.
01:01Many studies coincide in that the dream is key to the health
01:05physical and mental of children, children and young.
01:07Some associations have recommended that the children of 13 to 18
01:12should be sleeping from 8 to 10 hours per night in a continuous manner.
01:17However, in the U.S. schools,
01:19a series of surveys made to the students
01:21found that the majority does not sleep enough.
01:24Frente a this situation, in the last few decades,
01:27investigators, like psychologists and experts in the dream,
01:29have been reuniing pisos that show that
01:31retrasing the time to enter the school
01:33could improve the well-being and the rest of the students.
01:36What would be the ideal time to start classes?
01:38Well, between the recommendations,
01:40this begins at 8.30am or more late.
01:43The argument, precisely,
01:45that this allows adults to sleep enough,
01:48to optimize the environment and improve the mental health.
01:52A more prolonged sleep is associated with a less
01:54somnolence diurnal, more participation in the classroom
01:56and less retrasos and ausencias,
01:58as well as a decrease in the symptoms of depressive symptoms
02:01and irritability.
02:02But today, there are a large list of elements
02:04that make the children have a good quality of the dream.
02:06Among the main factors that alter it are the large tasks,
02:10the extracurriculars and the time that they pass on social media.
02:14This is where they add the changes biological changes
02:16to the puberty.
02:17In this time, the body begins to prefer to
02:19acostarse and despertarse more late,
02:21which causes, at a time,
02:23the beginning of the secretion of melatonina
02:25known as the hormone of the suelo.
02:27All these tests seem to show that
02:29in Colombia we should follow this path.
02:31In the country, for example,
02:33many colleges start the day before the 7am,
02:36especially the public, for several reasons.
02:38Like the existent of the double-jornada
02:40that has allowed to increase the cobertura
02:42or that in many cases respond to a reality.
02:44There is no enough infrastructure
02:45enough to offer a unique jornada.
02:48Another point to take into account
02:49is the of the work of the mothers,
02:51parents or caregivers,
02:52especially in those homes monoparentals.
02:55No forget that in the country,
02:56cerca del 46,5% of the homes
02:59have a female income.
03:00That is, almost 8,5 million homes
03:03are led by women.
03:04There is no other conditions
03:06climatic.
03:07In some areas where
03:08there are high temperatures
03:09have been taken the decision
03:11to initiate classes
03:12more early,
03:13with the objective
03:13to avoid the hours of more heat.
03:15This is how
03:16between the 12 and 3 of the afternoon,
03:18just when the solar radiation
03:19is more intense.
03:21And one more thing,
03:22the directives docent
03:23of the colleges of Colombia
03:24should reorganize their team
03:25to adjust their changes
03:27and not generate
03:28a labor charge
03:29in the teachers
03:30and other workers.
03:32Although the initiative
03:32has good and solid arguments
03:34and good arguments,
03:35it is not possible
03:36to leave aside
03:37that the homes
03:38by mothers,
03:39the lack of infrastructure
03:40and the increase
03:41of the labor charge
03:42of the teachers,
03:43among other arguments,
03:45are elements
03:45that could affect
03:46their implementation.
03:47If you want to know
03:48the complete note,
03:49visit the education
03:50of the spectator
03:51and don't forget
03:52to follow us
03:52on social media.
03:53social media.
