A memorial wall in Golders Green, north London, has been targeted in a suspected arson attack.

00:20while a more recent statement of solidarity for the Jewish community in the wake of recent attacks has been attached
00:27to a nearby tree.
00:29Aliva Hedi, a volunteer from the Miga Raleigh community group that set up the memorial and organised security to watch
00:38the wall,
00:38said last week a drone was in the area and that people came and threw things such as tomatoes.
00:46At first, police thought the fire had been started by a candle, but CCTV footage showed a person using a
00:53liquid to try to start a blaze.
00:56Police said the attack took place at around quarter past twelve on Monday, but was reported later that day, just
01:05before 7.30pm.
01:07Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said they recognise that this incident will heighten concerns in the Golders Green area,
01:15where residents have already faced a series of attacks.
01:19He added that the force is working closely with community organisations and leaders
01:24and wants to reassure them that their protective security operation continues.
