00:00Lima, ask me one of the toughest questions you've asked me,
00:03because we are getting ready for Game 5 tonight with your Cleveland Cavaliers.
00:07Go ahead and ask me. Go ahead and ask me if I care.
00:09Is this the biggest game, the biggest day of Donovan Mitchell's life?
00:16Not career, life.
00:18Life, yeah. Because he doesn't have kids.
00:20And he's not married.
00:21He's not married.
00:24Well, they still have a chance if they lose today.
00:28No, they don't.
00:30Oh!
00:32No.
00:32Yes, they do.
00:35Yes, they do.
00:36No, they do not.
00:36They're the better team. Yes, they do.
00:39Okay.
00:40If they lose, I'm not going to be happy.
00:43Obviously, nobody's going to be happy.
00:44But the series isn't.
00:45I'm not going to watch Game 6.
00:47Oh, yes, you will.
00:48If they lose tonight.
00:49Yes, you will.
00:49I will go watch something else.
00:52I will go put a nice movie on.
00:56Wait a minute.
00:57You can't sit there and call everybody else casual
00:59and say you're a ball knower
01:00and then say you're not going to watch Game 6.
01:01That'll be the end.
01:02No, you can't do that.
01:04You can't do that.
01:06You got to watch Game 6 if they lose tonight.
01:09You can't not do that.
01:11You're the one who's got to host next week.
01:12I won't be here.
01:13Do I?
01:14I'm going to be like Magic Johnson if they lose.
01:16I ain't going to be here.
01:18I'm starting to feel it in the throat right now.
01:20And this is the normal start of things in about six days, five days.
01:24The word coward has been thrown around way too much on this station this week.
01:27If you don't watch Game 6, you coward.
01:30He is a true coward.
01:31I will stand outside like say anything with a TV of Game 6 of your house
01:36and make you watch that.
01:37Oh, yeah.
01:37I think you should.
01:38I, uh, it's not over if they lose tonight.
01:42Now, I don't want to sit here and have an argument about if they lose tonight
01:46because that just sounds defeatist, and that's not where I wanted to take this,
01:50but I'm surprised that so many people think the series is over if they lose tonight.
01:54They're still the better team, guys.
01:57Sunday was a bleep show of monumental proportions.
02:01They should have won a sloppy basketball game.
02:03It was extra sloppy, but they're still the better team.
02:07We've been doing this.
02:09They're the better team with them, though, for a few years.
02:11Sure.
02:12Well, yeah.
02:12Yeah, I thought they were the better team last year.
02:14I thought they were the better team against the Magic, and that series had no business going seven.
02:18I don't think you can just throw out the phrase that they're still the better team
02:20and be confident in them the way they've performed.
02:23I'm not trying to hold them, or excuse me, I'm not trying to hide behind them.
02:27I'm trying to hold them to a standard here.
02:28You're the better basketball team.
02:30That means I'm not going to freak out tonight if they lose the game.
02:34I don't think they're going to lose the series if they lose the game tonight.
02:36They do got to get their stuff figured out, obviously, because they'd be down 3-2,
02:40and they've lost three straight to Toronto.
02:42But I don't think it's going to happen that way.
02:44So tonight is a series to you.
02:46If they win or lose tonight, that's the end of the series.
02:47Yeah, I kind of feel that way.
02:48I think this is the decider.
02:50And the reason...
02:51Well, hell, I thought we were going to ask about Donovan Mitchell,
02:52but this is a big damn deal here.
02:53Well, the reason that is is because there have been a few times in this series
02:57I've expected them to come out and make a statement.
03:01I said halftime at Game 3 where it looked like Toronto had figured some of your stuff out,
03:06and it was like, all right, Cavs need to show that they're the better team.
03:10But then things went south in a hurry, obviously, in the fourth quarter,
03:13and it looked like they ended up getting blown out when it was a very different game
03:17for most of it.
03:18I was actually okay.
03:19All right, it's a series.
03:21It's the NBA.
03:21We don't overreact to these things.
03:23Then in Game 4, I mean, to see the difficulty for Donovan and James Harden
03:29in the half court to see the fact that basically they're not guarding
03:35three of your guys at all times, and because of that, James and Donovan,
03:41their pick-and-roll stuff has been kind of useless because there are these freak
03:45athletes just sitting there in the paint that are long-limbed and have some girth
03:50to them.
03:51Hold the Donovan conversation off here.
03:53I'm going to get back to that at 640.
03:54All the stuff that I thought going into the series, I kind of had a lot of it hinge on.
04:01Yeah, Evan Mobley is going to be able to outplay some of their bigs because on paper,
04:07I had no reason to believe otherwise going in.
04:10But then all the ghosts of Cavalier playoff pass, this is why I gave credit yesterday to Nick.
04:16He never had faith in this Cavs team, and I said, well, this is different this year.
04:20Well, he still thinks he's going to win the series.
04:21Yeah.
04:21But, you know, that's what I want to hit on.
04:23I'm sorry.
04:23I'm going to cut you off here.
04:24That's what I want to hit on.
04:26See, this is where I'm frustrated.
04:28None of us know this team.
04:29None of us know them.
04:30They don't even know themselves.
04:32Nick, who has been ripping on this team all year, saying how he doesn't take them seriously,
04:39almost laughing at them all year.
04:41They're up 2-0 in the series.
04:42He guaranteed a sweep last week.
04:45Okay, I got you over here who's saying people don't watch basketball, non-ball knowers,
04:50rubbing their nose in the fact that they don't watch one of the three biggest sports here in this city.
04:55And now it's doom and gloom.
04:58My dog just died if we end up losing this game that you're saying you won't even watch game six.
05:01I mean, let's call it what it is.
05:02This has been a team that has struggled to find identity.
05:05And some of it's natural.
05:07You bring in James Harden halfway through the year.
05:08That's going to be natural.
05:09But I think people are tired of hearing me talk about patty cakes with them.
05:13I mean, yeah, there's a lot that's on the line today.
05:14And if they lose tonight, I'm still going to hold them to a standard that you are the better team.
05:18You better figure out a way to win it.
05:20Because in the words of Apollo Creed, there is no tomorrow.
05:23Like, if they don't win this series, I'm going to have to call in from the boat or something like
05:28that.
05:29Because next week is going to be ridiculous.
05:32Ridiculous for this team, for this fan base, for this organization.
05:36And I think for a lot of fans, it's going to be like, fine, go get the hell out of
05:38here.
05:38I can get a bunch of other guys and lose in the first round of the NBA playoffs here.
05:43Because what this is, it's frustrating me that I am hearing you and another co-worker who is a friend
05:49of mine
05:50take these huge hell hacks one way or the other about the team or the fans of the team
05:56or the media covering the team.
05:57And none of you have been right.
05:59None of you have been right.
06:01You haven't been right.
06:02Nick hasn't been right.
06:03The callers who have been right.
06:04No, Nick, well, wait a second.
06:06They haven't been right.
06:07Wait, I got to stand up for Nick in one regard.
06:09He just said that he guaranteed a sweep last week.
06:11I know, but I will stand up for Nick that Nick has kind of been adamant that when you punch
06:15this team in the mouth, things change in a hurry.
06:18And when they were up two games to nothing.
06:19So then he must have not have said, he must have, should have kept his mouth shut on that.
06:23Because I see a guy trying to hit a moving target on what it is.
06:25And I see another guy trying to hit a moving target on what it is.
06:28So you two should be as frustrated as anybody about this.
06:31So I'll call you both out for, I'm not even trying to call you both out, I'm calling the
06:34Cavs out for it.
06:34I am kind of interested here, yeah, that Ken is taking shots at us.
06:38Well, you're watching the games.
06:40But what about the actual basketball team that you've even said most expensive roster
06:45in the NBA?
06:46And you were supposed to come with all this playoff experience is something I thought
06:50was going to be a big checkmark in their direction.
06:53You should both be mad at them because they're making you both look like fools at separate
06:57times during the year.
06:58I mean, let's be honest.
06:59Nick, who's sitting there ripping on the team like crazy and then guarantees a sweep
07:04two games in, they've made him look like a total moron.
07:08And for you, they've made you look like a total moron over here.
07:11So I'm not really even ripping you guys.
07:13You guys should just be mad at the team for putting you in this position.
07:16What bothers me the most is I watched the Boston Celtics.
07:19I watched the entire game last night.
07:21And I saw the worst version of the Boston Celtics I've seen in five, six years.
07:26That was part of the calculus of me being so excited about the postseason.
07:31Then I watched Detroit.
07:33Detroit could get eliminated.
07:34Now, this is interesting.
07:35They start their game a half hour before ours tonight.
07:38And believe me, the Cavs have no business scoreboard watching anything.
07:42But you can bet if Orlando is up in the fourth quarter by 1520 and they're putting, you know,
07:50their final finishing touches on this Detroit team.
07:55And I'm going to be sitting there.
07:57We're in a war with Toronto.
07:58I'm going to be like, what a wasted opportunity.
08:01We should be moving on.
08:03We should be so excited about the rest of the East.
08:06The Knicks kind of got going again finally in their series and CJ McCollum came back down to earth.
08:12But the Knicks, their team, their fans are totally down on the state of affairs for the Knicks.
08:19And we're sitting here.
08:20This is why I was excited.
08:21I was so pumped because I knew all year that the Easter conference was up for grabs and it got
08:27Tatum back.
08:27I'm like, I don't know if we're as good as Boston.
08:29But every time I watch Boston, I'm like, that team, they are no, they are nothing like the Boston Celtics
08:36teams I've been afraid of in years past.
08:37It makes it even worse if they lose.
08:39So I will admit, like, I'm just holding them to a higher standard here.
08:43I'm not going to come in here.
08:44I think, I don't know.
08:45I imagine I'm not going to come in here.
08:47And if they win tonight, I'm going to be excited.
08:49I'm going to say the series is over.
08:51If they lose tonight, I'm going to be very upset.
08:54But I cannot imagine they're going to sit there and roll over and die.
08:58I think if they lose tonight, they will.
09:00I cannot accept for them to roll over and die against the Toronto Raptors when they were up 2-0
09:04in a series.
09:05I don't mean, and I know I sound, you can deal with the meanness.
09:09Nick isn't here to defend himself.
09:10I'm just saying you should both be mad at the Cavs because I think over the last week, they both
09:14made you look like complete fools.
09:17That's how I am.
09:17I'll give you guys credit for standing on what you believe and saying what you believe at the time you
09:22believe it.
09:23But this has been a team that it's like nailing jelly to a wall to try to figure out exactly
09:29who they are.
09:30You guys should be livid with them.
09:31Absolutely livid.
09:32And I think you can hear my voice.
09:34I'm over here kind of pussyfooting around.
09:35I don't know what to make of them.
09:36I think you can kind of hear my voice.
09:37And I really do believe, like, this is the first time.
09:41Donovan Mitchell his entire career, okay, he can't get out of the second round.
09:44But they haven't been mean about it.
09:45It's just been like, yeah, but his teams haven't been great.
09:48Yeah, they've been great regular season teams, but he's authored up these amazing playoff moments.
09:55You can't put it on him when he's scoring 40 and 50.
09:57This series and the way he played up in Toronto, that was some of the worst basketball I've seen in
10:03Donovan Mitchell's playoff career back to back.
10:05Tonight is a pretty damn big game for the legacy of Donovan Mitchell.
