01:14that move on hunter lawrence early at saint louis last week he said the opportunity presented itself
01:18so i had to go for it and here he's presented with the same opportunity justin hill looks over at
01:27justin and takes the lead of this race as i said ken roxon man you can just tell this guy

01:34understands what makes him so good is him being so explosive and ken is out there doing what he's been
01:40doing over the last few weekends and just to be able to be that aggressive to get past hunter
01:44lawrence get past justin's um hill right here catching 94. jumping through the whoops picture
01:52perfect mike james was saying how explosive he is these first couple laps his mo i would assume to come
02:01out here throw down some sprint laps four or five laps get a gap four or five seconds and just

02:08from there and i haven't seen many people in this sport do it better than ken roxon that's what he
02:13did last week and then he was told to slow it down on the last lap and he said that
02:18got me out of my
02:19rhythm right he had a 10 plus second lead and why is this going to be really hard for these
02:24guys like
02:25hunter lawrence because we see how slippery this racetrack is anytime anybody's pushing it on this
02:29racetrack they've been making a lot of mistakes so this gap with kenny's getting just going to make it
02:34really really hard for hunter to make that time up this is where hunter he can't waste any time
02:40behind the 26 of jorge prado and that red bull ktm he's lost a lot of time oh no bottom

03:49stadium um he's doing pretty good but hunter lawrence is actually made you see that back up on
03:56ken roxon ken didn't get away too much that's great for hunter we know how strong he is at the

04:02race look at the lap times here hunter lawrence the last lap 53-1 to a 53-5 for ken
04:10roxon wow four tenths
04:12so watch that margin it's two and a half seconds roxon to lawrence with still plenty of time left in

05:00lap in the sand kenny's tripling to the outside which has been really good all day but they've done
05:06some track work in that inside line through the sand is really starting to work watch hunter he triples
05:11to the inside and uses a lot less racetrack he's going to close it down even more than he already
05:15is yeah no he's i mean he's already on him and talk about this a little bit during the call
05:21it's been
05:21a few years since ken rock's been in position almost 10 years in this spot where he's riding this good
05:28do you think maybe the the pressure's starting to get to him because he's definitely riding really
05:33tight as hunter is going up the inside well look at this lawrence switches lines switches again has a
05:39shot at the lead of the race will he look at that inside option on rocks and he sure does
05:43but couldn't
05:44quite get it done yeah i can tell you this much james and you know it better than anybody when
05:49you're in
05:49hunter lawrence's position and you've made that much time up on your rival and competitor for the
05:54championship it is a great feeling because you're playing with house money on speed yeah and especially
06:01against ken rocks and again we know how good ken has been in the beginning of part of the race
06:06and
06:06hunter's almost strong he's stronger towards the end so we'll find out looks like kenny's starting to
06:12stabilize justin hill is right behind these guys but hunter's in a great spot as you can see right there

07:45when we had a shot on eli the last last time we had it he was kind of looking like

07:51in that heat race there wasn't really no sense of urgency kind of standing out laboring into the
07:56corners and the guy that we saw in the heat race isn't this guy right now it's like he's settled
08:03into these guys's pace even though like he he's probably a bit faster it's almost like yeah he's
08:09just gotten into their yeah into their pace here and that's this is going to be huge for both kenny
08:15and hunter from a points perspective nice work from ferrandus there passes shane macklerack that's for
08:21seven and that is exactly ferrandus's best result on this new ride aboard that troylee design red bull
08:31ducati keep in mind we haven't talked about it hardly at all today other than how it affects the track
08:38conditions it's been hot and not always do these guys race in hot conditions and supercross so
08:44this is really going to come into play the sun has absolutely been beaming all day here today so as

08:51get later on in this main event it's going to be fun to see how it works out for the

08:57that was weird um savagy yeah savagy pulling over but he was a lap down so so back up front

09:06seconds slices it back to one it's fluctuating but roxon's remaining resilient out in front
09:14i wonder if kenny kind of got into a slump there early on and maybe lost his groove and that's
09:20what allowed hunter lawrence to catch up to him but he's kind of pulled back out of gap now will
09:27i'm just down wiki in the mechanics area right now keeping an eye on camera camera you can see right
09:31there that's hunter lawrence's mechanic and billy hartel ken roxon's mechanic right now it's kind of
09:36alternating between just letting them know position on ball um position that everybody else is at on
09:42the track and and obviously the time difference there but also every now and then we see them
09:45flash up messages uh right solid good that's what we needed so right now they're just keeping their
09:51guys honest on track as this battle unfolds oh man this is james i just go back to our days

09:59and anytime you get down the stretch right here and it's almost
10:03it's just when you're neck and neck like this and so close in time it just becomes a battle of

10:15he is bottom box he was running in fourth challenging justin hill for third yep that wolf section
10:23up there hunter lawrence almost one second advantage he gained
10:29here he comes all fitness right here oh kenny gets off sequence he doesn't triple out of that
10:36corner right there james lappers our lapper is going to come into account oh i like that inside
10:42to the right on the whoops looks like you're able to drive through a little bit faster
10:47yeah roxon takes the inside line hunter lawrence with a hard landing also on the inside lost a little
10:53time there we're just over the halfway mark quick reminder to stock up on monster energy drinks at
10:58your local kroger yeah it didn't it didn't look like hunter did anything to be able to close that gap
11:05up on kenny so you can tell he's in that spot to where he feels like he has that pace

11:10that gap whenever so really just comes down to when he wants to make that move we talked about it
11:14earlier in the heat races when you get there you gotta gotta jump on that guy you know kenny's probably
11:19gonna fight back so wherever you do it make sure it's in the spot kenny can't retaliate and slow
11:24his race down for you that's right you can't have an attempted fail close call right there by tristan
11:29lane kenny almost ran into him but look at that right side see where hunter was at i believe that's
11:36going to be a really good opportunity for hunter if he can be close to make a move but i

11:41fitness and how is that going to play a part
11:48this is fascinating watching the ebb and flow between these two and that gap kind of expand and
11:56contract who is playing the better game here is it roxon out in front or is it honda lawrence just
12:02biding his time and you talk about game lee and i believe this james it is a it's a game
12:08of chess and
12:09what is the game plan yeah no i i agree with you and you will kenny a mistake by roxon
12:15he knew and
12:16he looked behind and lawrence was there to pounce now roxon comes back oh lawrence has got the inside
12:23line roxon can't set him up for a move there hunter lawrence in the lead of this race yeah kenny

12:31off of that little single on the inside he looked back almost if something happened and he was very
12:36respectful to hunter lawrence he right there he could have ran in a lot harder ricky ken kenny's
12:40a quality guy but these next couple laps are going to be so key ken is normally so explosive not

12:47beginning of the race but to be able to get back by it but watch what happens and gets a
12:52little
12:52sideways right there he's going to come out of this 90 sideways under braking yeah he just slid off and
12:58he
12:58must have looked back because he thought hunter might have been on the outside i'm not really sure but he
13:02could have put punted hunter off the racetrack i think even hunter was kind of surprised that he
13:06didn't do it but just showed you how much respect kenny roxon has but there's that gap now look at
13:11this hunter lawrence says thank you that was a gift and i'm going to take off there's no pressure
13:18on ken roxon from justin hill whatsoever so this is comfort zone if he doesn't have anything in
13:23response to hunter lawrence it's still going to be a good result that keeps him within one point of the
13:30championship lead a lot of racing left but you talk about the mental side a lot james and and i
13:36have
13:36to say if hunter is able to get this win and take it down to the checkered the confidence that
13:44that's
13:45going to give him going into these next four rounds i just think would be so oh roxon's dropped it

13:52got a kick in two oh it gets back fired back quick this race is unraveling for ken roxon oh

14:00cooper webb justin hill is second webb is third roxon demoted the fourth that was right before the
14:07finish line so you heard the crowd really not sure where where he was i'm not sure how he ended

14:14way maybe over rotated corner or something coming out oh hold on we've seen a couple of those moments
14:22right and he just even on the bike just really stiff and dude it seems like he's i don't know

14:27not as energetic even before you know he went down a little lethargic on the bike but never know
14:35six minutes to go plus a lap i don't know what do you see james well i mean he came

14:42we saw him get around hunter made those kind of passes and it looked like ken roxon i just got

14:47go go back to just on the mental side either we meant something maybe he hurt himself over jump
14:52something and he's kind of dealing with that or you got to look at the championship you know what
14:58i mean like that pressure of being there by the way this is second in justin hill third in cooper

15:09the podium with honda lawrence leering out to a whopping 16 plus second lead love the resiliency
15:16to the cooper webb great run for justin hill but cooper webb defending supercross champ three times
15:24supercross champ at that as well here we go never give up inside move cooper webb he hasn't been on

15:32podium rc in the last three races justin hill fights back wow hill says i want this second place
15:39great move yes he does yes he does you know that's not going to sit well with the number one

15:45what it's doing is it's helping roxon yeah it's helping roxon and and you got to look at fifth place
15:51dylan farandis isn't too far behind those guys the same thing with chase sexton right there yeah
16:00oh no eli tomac drops it oh this is going to be massive he was in eighth place and he
16:07is seeing
16:07positions and points go by he's going to be outside of the top 10 or close to it right on

16:1611th place for the day that started with so much promise with a heat win what happened to tomac watch
16:22bike three yeah i'm assuming he's going to air probably just going to hit the front brake and
16:26blue oh yeah there you go yeah you can just tell wow his troubles already started this kind of has
16:34insult to injury but he's looking he's back in 11th place now meanwhile cooper webb's got back by
16:43justin hill so the defending monster energy ama supercross champion
16:49in the 450 class is up to second and a much needed second at that
16:56he had a really great run of podiums there mid-season and then he's been absent from the
17:02podium the last three rounds this will be a welcome relief return yep but speaking of podium look at that
17:11number 14 on the ducati race and dylan farandis this podium might be for him as well oh kenny here

17:18verandis verandis on that ducati yeah kenny's kenny's struggling right now
17:25dylan farandis is relishing this opportunity oh just made a mistake and sexton's right there yep

18:08three weeks out they went he has got to get dig so deep how special were there's two wins well

18:15would be able to get on the podium this would be huge quality pass nice pass by kenny right there

18:33yeah you know jay senses that as well like kenny might be struggling sure he would like to be able
18:38to get on the podium especially how his day's been going number four kawasaki chase sexton
18:45i think this could be as difficult as this race has been for kenny if he finishes on the podium

18:51a win it's like a win straight up yeah i agree with that it just shows you the mentality that's

18:57different with ken roxton but he doesn't get up that number four is closing yeah it's coming down to
19:03the wire too and lapper's coming into play sexton got a good drive right here he's all over him
19:12i know these guys have been buddies in the past but it's going to be interesting to see if the

19:18really pushes hard to get that podium or he gives one to his friend here points wise robson is 10

19:24of honda lawrence now as they run with a minute plus a lap to go in this 450 main the

19:31australian bottom box honda lawrence on the honda hrc progressive machine he's looking at his fourth win
19:39on the season he had never won a 450 main until this year can he win his first 450 main
19:46and a 450 title in
19:48the same year there's some legendary names in the sport like bob hannah and david bailey and jeff
19:54stanton jeremy mcgrath jet lawrence and others who have accomplished that feat hunter could add his name
20:00to that list in just four races time what an absolutely epic ride by the number 96 of hunter
20:07lawrence on that factory honda hrc that fall that he took two weeks ago in detroit he backs it up

20:15podium and then now an absolutely dominant ride bides his time it's by the man quality quality
20:23ride not i i agree with you on that and i would say every one of his wins this year

20:42locations this is where hunter lawrence clinched his 250 east division title this is a special place
20:50to this guy and we just had his younger brother jet in the booth with us talking about what he's
20:56seen his brother accomplish this year and how he's seen his older brother grow and move into a different
21:03echelon of the sport which is there's that brotherly pride but this is big time for hunter lawrence one
