00:08This is a hugely promising sign and a sense of relief as well
00:13because finally we're ready to get this 250 East Division main event underway
00:17here in Nashville, Tennessee.

00:30Let's get ready to go.
00:32And for Cole Davies, he's trying to win his fourth event of the season.
00:36For Seth Hamaker, if he were to win, it would be critical in his championship hopes.
00:42And there they are, side by side, top two in the championship.
00:47You can see a little bit in Cole Davies' rut.
00:49He has a little bit of a deeper rut, but it's a very straight rut,
00:52which you kind of always look and see if it has a hole,
00:57how vicious the upcoming is on it as well.
01:00So it looks pretty flat.
01:01There's Hunter probably drinking a smoothie or a tea or coffee.
01:06He loves coffee at this time as well.
01:07So he's probably drinking coffee to try and stay awake.
01:10It's such a long day.
01:12By his own words, Cole Davies only has one thing on his mind.
01:15He wasn't worried about those East-West showdowns.
01:18He was interested in winning this East Division championship.
01:21And if he gets another victory here this afternoon in Tennessee,
01:23he's going to go a long way to achieving that.
01:26For Seth Hamaker, it's now.
01:28It has to be now.
01:30He's got to beat Davies.
01:312.50 East here in Tennessee.

01:34And Hamaker does get a good start.
01:37They tuck it in there.

01:40Here comes Daxton Benick.
01:42Benick with the hole shot.
01:43And that's the great thing about being able to sneak up the inside like that.
01:48Oh, and Thrasher comes up.
01:50Power move.
01:50Gets into the lead quick.
01:52Cole Davies sending it through the whoops right now with Hamaker right behind him.

01:57Seth had a little scary one there.
01:59He lost some spin drive on the whoops and kind of front got a little heavy.
02:03But we got Drew Adams in 30s from our farm as well.
02:06So great to see him back up there with his first race back since his injury.
02:09Yeah, that was a great save by Seth Pratt there.
02:12He wanted to get in there.
02:13But nonetheless, he ends up getting passed by Cole Davies.
02:16But I love what I see from these guys.
02:17We saw a good Drew Adams was riding earlier in that heat race.
02:21Nate Thrasher as well.
02:23See what these guys can do with an open track league.
02:25How about the Rockstar Energy Factory Husk owner of Daxton Benick?
02:28The 58 right there.
02:30Last week in St. Louis in the East West Showdown, he had to go via the last chance qualifier.
02:35He won that, then finished sixth and elevated himself to third in the championship.
02:39This guy's having a stellar season and he's keeping a watchful eye on Drew Adams.
02:43Well, you see him looking over his shoulder.
02:46And the reason that he's looking over his shoulder is he's protecting the inside, riding a little defensive to make
02:51sure the 35 of Drew Adams doesn't come up and try to make a pass up the inside.
02:56Great pass by Cole Davies.
02:59Look at Seth Hammacher trying to do the same thing.
03:01You just have to assume, Jet, that he does not want the 37 to get away and he's got to
03:07make every move that Cole does.
03:09Yeah, I think what you're going to see here is the difficult thing of Cole's going to make a move,
03:14Seth's going to make a move.
03:15Cole's going to make another move, Seth's going to make another move.
03:18And it's just going to be, they're going to be going through the pack right now until they get to
03:21the front.
03:22And once you get to the front, I think that it's going to be trying to go as hard as
03:26they can to get around each other.
03:27So I think we've got a great race on our hands right now, and I'm excited for it.
03:32Boy, in this spot, if you have somebody a little bit faster than you, which normally doesn't happen in your
03:37situation,
03:37if you're Seth, do you try to get around Cole and slow him down or you just try to follow
03:42him up?
03:42To me, I almost feel like I would want to stop his momentum, but if you're in this spot, what
03:47do you do?
03:48See, if, I mean, in this kind of situation, what I'm trying to do is while he's focused on the
03:55guy in front,
03:55I'm going to be trying to break his rhythm, like you said.
03:58I'm going to try and surprise him, get a front wheel in there, take his mind off of going forward,
04:05you know,
04:05and, oh, I've got to defend.
04:06So I think that's what I'd be focusing on.
04:08Cole Davies, mate, quick worker, Daxton Benick, his teammate, Landon Gordon's in the mechanics area,
04:13and he works on his other teammate, Nate Trasher.
04:16Well, this is going to really test the spirit of Seth Hamaker right now
04:20because Cole Davies has made some clutch moves to get by,
04:24and you're going to keep your eye on the top of your screen right here.
04:26This is where Cole Davies is so explosive and so fast.
04:30Watch the time he'll make up in the whoops.

04:42This is where he got Daxton Benick.

04:49you know, considering where Cole is in the championship,
04:51but good for him.
04:52Like at this point, this is only helping Seth out.
04:56He has to try to get around Daxton Benick
04:58because I believe if Cole gets around his teammate,
05:00he might just ride off into the sunset.
05:03Nate Trasher's coming off his best result of the year.
05:05Hasn't been on the podium yet,
05:07but a fourth last weekend in St. Louis was crucial for him
05:10to get things back on track.
05:12Right here, going back to the last lap.
05:14Cole needs to be right on the rear tire of Thrasher
05:17if he wants to absolutely execute this pass
05:20going through the whoops.
05:23Meanwhile, watch in the background.

05:25Here comes the Kawasaki rider.

05:28Almost out of shape.

05:37but, you know, I noticed Cole went a little bit farther inside
05:40and got him that last lap that he did.
05:41And Daxton makes a nice pass up to the inside of Nate Thrasher.
05:47That was a beautiful move from Daxton Benick.
05:52Meanwhile, let's talk more about Seth Hamaker.
05:54He's wage.
05:55Yeah, well, this is fun as you watch him go through.
05:57That is his mom, Sally.
05:59She is not watching the race.
06:00She never does.
06:01She sets a clock on her phone for 13 minutes,
06:04paces nervously because she doesn't want to watch her son race.
06:07And then two minutes to go,
06:09she'll check to see if he's heading to the podium or not.
06:11This action is going on right now.
06:13One person doesn't know.
06:14His mom.
06:15I think that helps with the stress a lot.
06:18I would do the same, but I can't.
06:20I have to watch.

06:24His weight got forward in the whoops and the back end got light.
06:27That was a nice adjustment that Seth made.

06:37He could have pushed him up a little bit and made no contact,
06:40but I feel like Dax, he knows what's on the line right now.
06:43Now, these are very, very key laps for Seth right now
06:46because while Cole doesn't know he's in second right now,
06:49he's got to make up as much time as he possibly can
06:52before Cole looks back and goes,
06:54OK, Seth's right there.
06:55So I think he's really got to execute these laps nicely
06:58to try and gain as much time while maybe Cole's still relaxed.

07:54I mean, to be able to get back up.
07:55But when he started that, he overjumped that triple and got his way too far forward.
07:59That's what pushed him off that balance.
08:01But, man, tough break.
08:03He said he was going to hang out.
08:04Still in fourth place, so didn't lose too much.
08:07But, man, that's going to be costly as far as going after the win.
08:11Hopefully we can make it back and salvage the podium.
08:14That's what we're going to try and go for.
08:16And hopefully either he's just kind of hoping if maybe Cole makes a mistake in the upcoming
08:21rounds or something else.
08:23This is Devin Simonson up against Henry Miller.
08:27Simonson on the inside.
08:29Miller makes the inside switch there and through the sand section.
08:32This is a good scrap for fifth place.
08:36Yeah, I like that inside because we saw what Seth did.
08:39It seems like you can maybe hop out of that berm and just close the guys off
08:43even if they have the more momentum on the outside.
08:49Here comes Devin Simonson around the outside.
08:51And at the moment, as we race, Simonson has the upper hand on his Club MX teammate Cody Schock.
08:57These two have been having an awesome season this year going back and forth.
09:01Yeah, they've been going back and forth.
09:02Like you said, trade positions each weekend, Diff.
09:05But what a ride by Henry Miller right here.
09:09He was working on Simonson, was able to make the pass.

09:57Seth Hamaker ahead of Devin Simonson.
09:58Meanwhile, race leader Cole Davies has blown out to almost a six-second advantage.

10:05And I feel like when you get into this position for a rider the caliber of Cole, this is

10:11I feel like he's just in maintenance or maintaining mode.

10:16Ricky, for all of you guys, just chatting with Cole Davies yesterday, asking about sort of
10:21how far he's come from round one for him to this point.
10:25Now, he was just describing how much of a kind of calmer rider he is, more controlled.
10:30He specifically talked about when he doesn't get the start.
10:34And it was a decent start, but we didn't see him out there with a whole shot and what
10:37he does.
10:38And he said he's just learned to go about being calm in those moments, working his way
10:43forward, not panicking, not kind of going, I've got to get to the front and over-pushing.
10:46And what we're seeing is a work from him.
10:48That's just exactly what we saw today.
10:50And he seems to be learning it very quickly.
10:52He said nobody told him that.
10:53He just figured it out.
10:54I just feel that we're seeing this rider really develop right in front of our eyes through
10:58the season.
10:58A lot of box there.
10:59You saw Hunter Lawrence riding towards the gate area to get ready for his main event.
11:04Look, New Zealand, for a small population, produces incredible sportsmen and women and
11:11sporting accomplishments.
11:12I can't remember if I said this last week or not, but you may have seen the news story
11:16where this young man, this teenage sensation Cole Davies, has captured the attention of fellow
11:22New Zealand sports people in the motorsports sphere.
11:25Six-time IndyCar champ Scott Dixon, NASCAR sensation Shane Van Gisbergen, Liam Lawson,
11:31Formula One driver.
11:32They've all reached out to this young man via social media to congratulate him and to spur
11:37him on and encourage him.
11:38That's pretty cool stuff.
11:39No, it really is.
11:40I mean, can you imagine seeing that through social media, getting the stars of other sports
11:45snoring that they're watching you, but everybody in the motorsports industry, whether you're
11:49on two or four-wheeled, we all appreciate it.
11:51Like, I'm sure Cole watches those guys.
11:53I know I do.
11:54So, man, really cool for those guys to reach out to him and just luck.
11:59This is going to be a very generous pickup and points for Cole Davies towards his quest
12:05for this 250 East Division Championship.
12:09Just four minutes and one, four and a half minutes and one lap remaining here and picking
12:13his way through these lappers, doing a fantastic job doing that, JT.
12:19He looks incredible, Ricky.
12:21And what I really enjoy about his racing is just the maturity that he shows because, yes,
12:27riders take risks.
12:28We've heard and seen Seth Hamaker kind of have the negative side of that, but also Cole took
12:34some risks when he made that pass in the whoops, he was a little bit out of shape to make
12:38the
12:38pass on the thrash, but he knew when and where to apply that risk.
12:42And the rest of the race, he's been so tremendously patient.
12:45And such a big part of this is knowing when to push.
12:48And if I have to say it, a lot of this reminds me of a young Jett Lawrence, the patience
12:52and
12:52then an intensity when needed.
12:54Yeah, it does.
12:55And another thing that I was really impressed with last year with Cole Davies in his rookie
13:00season is when he was getting heat in these races, he was really good.
13:04at just riding his race.
13:06He didn't get caught in a moment, override the motorcycle if he was being pressured.
13:10And to have that amount of self-discipline is very tough.
13:14As you know, Jett and James, hard to do that at a young age.
13:18No, it's, I think, one of the hardest things.
13:20As a young kid, you have all the energy in the world and all you want to do is win.
13:25I know when I was young, and I still am, you're so competitive and all you want to do is
13:29win.
13:30So I think it's a great thing to have knowing when you need to step it up and when you
13:35need
13:35to, you know, back it down.
13:36Like you said in this one, he had that little burst of energy in the whoops to make a pass.
13:41And now, honestly, you just see him flowing.
13:43You don't see any extra energy that he's putting in.
13:45You don't see any extra thing he's trying to pull out.
13:48Just hitting his marks and doing it.
13:49And now you see here, we're just talking about that.
13:52See if Seth could maybe catch up to make a salvage of podium.
13:55And he's doing that right now.
13:56Even second place is right there, Dak.
13:59So he's going to get some fun racing really soon.
14:02Yeah, Seth has done a great job at catching these guys.
14:04He was about seven seconds behind him.
14:06So he's doing everything.
14:07He understands if he can't beat Cole, he needs to finish behind him.
14:10So great recovery from here.
14:12Right now, I think it's a great opportunity.
14:14Maybe some of these guys get caught up in these lappers.
14:16But Seth's got to try to make that second place.
14:19Daxton Benick isn't that far off the track either.
14:21So Thrasher is the first one on Seth Hamaker's list.
14:24Then Daxton Benick, who is having the best season of his career.
14:28If he can finish second.

14:32So he's up to third.
14:34Yeah, I was just about to call that out.
14:35It felt like Seth needed to make that pass.
14:38While Nate was more concentrated on that lapper,
14:40he might be able to sneak up the inside.
14:43Great move by him in third place.
14:44Let's see if we can get another one.
14:45Yeah, he used Jeremy Hand there as a pick to get by.
14:49I don't think that Nate was anticipating that.
14:53I think right now these combinations in the whoops is the worst time.
14:59You have absolutely cupped out beat whoops with dry sling.
15:04And these edges, if people were down there saying,
15:07they are like concrete curves.
15:09So as soon as that thing gets kicked sideways,
15:11it is so hard to try and get that back tamed.
15:14Like as you've seen then before with Seth's run through there.
15:17So it's hairy.
15:19You're kind of deciding like, oh, do I jump?
15:21But they're not broken down as much as like an East Coast with like last weekend.
15:25They broke down massively.
15:26You can kind of jump them.
15:27So he's in a hairy kind of situation of either jumping or skimming.
15:32But he's still going with skimming because he's trying to make up passes right now.

15:56because the 10 of Seth Hamaker has made up an immense amount of time.
16:01And he is all over him.
16:03The one thing Seth Hamaker has shown us time and again, James,
16:06as he works on Benick here, is he can have an incident.
16:09And he rebounds and recovers so well.
16:12They both go down.
16:14Benick and Hamaker are down.
16:16Oh, man.
16:18Thresher goes through to grab second place.
16:21Oh, my goodness.
16:24What a heartbreak for Benick.
16:26Oh, he was doing.
16:27And the 10.
16:29That's such a bummer.
16:30He was putting in such a great ride, too.

16:35Daxton lost the rear end and then Seth had that momentum.
16:39But because Seth almost jumped off the racetrack, it actually threw him wide.
16:43So he was able to square that corner up and those two collided.
16:47One more lap to go for Cole Davies.
16:49He has no idea of the mayhem that has just unfolded behind him.

16:56And this is going to be massive for a guy like Devin Simonson.
17:02Showing him still fifth right here.
17:05That'll be a career miss for Devin Simonson.
17:08Davies is en route to his fourth victory of the year.
17:13What a ride by this guy.
17:15This guy doesn't even know the carnage that's going on behind him.
17:18He's like, oh, that was a pretty nice car for race.
17:21Oh.
17:23And this is what he does best.
17:24Stays in control.
17:26Manages everything.
17:28Championship on his mind.
17:30Gives himself a little confirmation nod there.
17:35And in similar fashion to his teammate Hayden Deegan last weekend, it's going to be a 15-plus
17:40second win.
17:41Look at this.

17:43Cole Davies has done it again and increases his championship lead in the 250 East Division.

17:53Simonson getting by Binnick.
17:54Binnick looks over, sir.
17:56There's Miller, too.
17:57Henry Miller wants a shot.
17:58He better down these next few sets.
18:00He might drop two positions.
18:01Daxton Binnick's got to try and regroup and recover here.
18:06But he's still shell-shocked from that knock and that fall.
18:10Nate Thrasher's grabbed second.

18:18And Daxton Binnick, a second or a third, turns into a fifth.

18:33Yeah, that was a great ride.
18:35I've got to give a shout-out to Seth.
18:36He was able to get back up twice after two big hits and still finish up on the podium.
18:41I think that's what it's hard to teach kids nowadays.
18:45And I don't think it's very hard to teach it just in general.
18:48The hard work and that never give up.
18:50Obviously, in that race, Seth got knocked down twice.
18:53And he still didn't quit and still kept going.
18:55Obviously, he got a third.
18:57But, I mean, the men are out right now.
18:58Obviously, Cole Davies after a pretty, probably, fairly calmful race for him.
