00:10all right so what are the four minor league teams here otto we got balloons i was gonna okay i
00:16was
00:17gonna need a little mud ends which i kind of count but it's not in michigan yeah and uh the
00:21lansing
00:22okay all right cool i was gonna see if i could name them what was the question it's okay the
00:27ten dollar minor league tickets that are on sale right now it's across all minor leagues yeah kind
00:32of cool yeah i mean it's good great for families and it seems like uh you can like i selected
00:37one
00:37of the the stadiums i think you can click right behind home plate in some of the venues so for
00:4110 10 bucks right behind play it's it's amazing let me see if i can name them balloons the lug
00:46nuts
00:46the white caps and the mud hens did i get them all you got all right sorry what's one of
00:52the
00:52traverse city the cherry pits or something yeah it's the uh northwoods league pitters yeah
00:57northwoods league it's like a college league it's uh the difference between going to a minor league
01:05game today compared to like 25 years ago it is night and day the state they're all new stadiums now
01:11they're fantastic i remember going to a game to see the mud hens play way back in the
01:17mid 90s i think it was it was a ned skelton stadium or whatever they called it yeah and
01:22you see it there from the turnpike it was it was uh you know it was quaint it was you
01:29it had a whole
01:30minor league atmosphere to it right i mean nothing but bleacher seating and you felt like it was
01:35like a big high school park or something like that you know the muddy the mud hen the the the
01:40uh
01:40mascot was hysterical to me walking around with a plastic bat and it would smack the bat to try to
01:45get
01:45the crowd going and it was just you know very kind of low rent but yet quaint yeah it was
01:50fun
01:51now you go to toledo to watch the mud hens play yeah i think it's fifth third park i feel
01:57like half
01:57the parks in in the country now fifth third park um but it's fantastic it's a major league experience
02:04now it's a real ballpark now it doesn't hold 40 000 people but it's a beautiful ballpark that holds
02:11like you know 15 000 people with restaurants in there right in the heart of downtown it's like
02:16professionally done and i want to give credit i think it's uh i think it was oldsmobile park where
02:22the lug nuts played um when they first opened it up i feel like that was the first new ballpark
02:28that
02:28set the standard because i went there that first year that they had the ballpark open there and it
02:32really opened my eyes this this ballpark's beautiful loved it up in lansing to watch a game
02:38there and glad to see that the the trend continues and you know here we are today with some great
02:43ballparks to check out all right uh let's i'll get some tiger stuff as promised but in in the mock
02:49draft we got sidetracked and almost uh shortchanged our guy brandon as we brought him on the air with
02:5417 seconds away from a hard break and we want to give you more time than that brandon so thank
02:58you
02:59for holding over and you're on 97.1 i appreciate it guys sure so last night when you watched the
03:05game
03:05so we came back from uh 17 points in game three and we blew it but i thought they're gonna
03:12keep
03:12that over you know there was no carry on because they fell behind 17 to 5 17 to 5 man
03:21i know but
03:23sitting on my couch last night i was like we're gonna take the momentum even though we didn't
03:27finish it out in game three that we're gonna finish it out like we're gonna come out and uh have
03:33a
03:33great game this game yep and then they came back and then they were down uh what six in the
03:39first
03:39quarter and then they were up like eight in the first quarter and i thought that was it well when
03:46they so they got up i think they got up 10 35 to 13 run after 17 to 5 the
03:52pistons went on a 35 to 13
03:54run and brandon the thought hit my head here we go this is this is yeah they're they're getting
04:01stops orlando's coming back to earth they're they were shooting up three pointers that were you know
04:08well west of the basket and i'm like okay here we go and it wasn't they didn't capitalize on that
04:13they couldn't keep it up i thought they put i thought they put the hand up and i said no
04:17stop it
04:18it's too early it's too early no that's the problem it's it's the nba if you get a massive
04:23lead in the first quarter it means nothing teams come back from that they chip away with it i don't
04:28know how many times we saw it happen with 20 point leads that disappear because it's a 20 point lead
04:33early in the game they had offensive flow they were getting a defense you know what happened in that
04:37stretch brandon is defense was leading to offense they were getting stops yeah runouts steals and
04:44they were getting easier buckets on the offensive end and then it stopped well then they started
04:48turning over i wasn't thinking here we go in this like point of uh the time i was thinking here
04:54we
04:54go in the series i thought that was when they were going to turn the whole series around and we're
04:58going to go it didn't happen uh two four eight five three nine ninety seven ninety seven all right
05:05so my tiger take tigers are in atlanta against the braves braves are 20 and nine best record in the
05:11game i think the tiger should win this series that it well but it's the pitching matchups well they've
05:21they've got their best three pitchers who are all pitching really well right now okay martin perez
05:26who's pitching tonight for the braves is off to a really good start yeah 270 era he's got a whip
05:31of
05:31below one his career era and he's a journeyman pitcher is 4.39 his career whip is 1.43 he's
05:39been in the
05:39league for like 12 13 years he's left-handed tomorrow night it's scoobal versus jr richie who
05:45will be making his second career start and on thursday afternoons framborvaldez versus bryce elder
05:52who got gave up so much hard contact last friday to philly but i think he only gave up five
05:59hits in
05:59six innings he has an era less than two and a whip less than one his career era is 4
06:07.37 and his whip is
06:091.33 there's some smoke and mirrors going on down there with their starters i like detroit starters
06:15i think they should win this series well i we might be able to say the same thing about casey
06:20mize we might be that was off to a phenomenal start and i don't want to stop it because i
06:24love
06:24what i'm seeing from casey but where he is in his career is kind of where you can start to
06:28see a guy
06:28ascending he's not a 12 year veteran he's like in year five or whatever it is and he's pitching off
06:34if you want his era is 2.5 he's got a whip that's just above one and he's more strikeouts
06:38than innings
06:39pitched at this point in the season i think it's 32 strikeouts in 28 innings he's done great i'd love
06:45to see it i think it's interesting tonight with the with the tigers facing a left-handed pitcher
06:50to see what kind of lineup aj hinch puts out there is he going to go heavy right-handed hitting
06:56lineup
06:56which you typically would do or do you start to trust some of those left-handed hitters more
07:00it seems like it doesn't matter with with riley green or mcgonigal they're in the lineup every day
07:04but with colt keith does he get the start or they they go jami jones my guess is jami jones
07:12you know
07:13or matt veerling or whoever it is going to be in his place i probably and there's still not that
07:18that
07:18trust that's there um with with colt keith like there is with the other two aforementioned left-handed
07:24hitters and then you've got switch hitting hitter uh whencel perez and and we'll see with the
07:30rest of them but it's baseball anything can happen and we know this but if i if you ask me
07:34my leanings
07:35tigers win this series i do have a concern with the tigers and with one player in in particular and
07:41i
07:41want to bring it up because i feel like when we bring up guys that are oh i bring it
07:48up let's let's
07:49just let this guy have it what the heck is going on with dylan dingler he has won for his
07:57last 21
07:59his ops has dropped 200 points during that time
08:09dude what happened like we were talking him up like hey this should tiger start thinking about
08:13extending him ahead of time and get a deal for dylan dingler you know gold glove winning catcher
08:19he's he's he was provided the only tigers power up till a week ago and now nothing okay can i
08:28you
08:29can i play yeah come on all right you know who's hitting the ball is starting to come around a
08:33little
08:33bit is eduardo valencia down in toledo maybe they need to take a look at him there you go
08:38he can he's a catcher first baseman type i'm playing along here yeah yeah see what happens
08:46with that i mean he needs to get his act together oh scott or else they gotta start thinking though
08:52what are we gonna do how many options put the gear on carp
08:59i just made that up uh let's go to trent and how you're next on 97 one hi trent hey
09:06guys how's it
09:07going what's up uh i i wanted to touch on your guys's conversation earlier about the development
09:15offensively of duran and assar and ron holland you know obviously those guys contribute to winning
09:23in uh you know a way that doesn't necessarily score or show up in the scoring column so i think
09:31it really limits what you can do roster construction wise you need a very unique player to complement
09:37them you know you bring in a duncan robinson for his shooting and he gets hunted on defense
09:43the pistons have a lot of specialists you know javante green is a defensive specialist robinson like i
09:50mentioned and i think it really puts pressure on trajan lang to be aggressive you know nikiel
09:57alexander walker averaged 20 for the hawks on the same contract as karis liver you know signed same
10:04off season how much better would you feel about this team with jaron jackson shooting eight threes a game
10:11um you know he got moved this off season you know those are both guys that can contribute
10:16offensively and defensively and it's a lot easier said than done because everybody wants those guys
10:22but when they're available you know especially in a season where you've secured the number one seed
10:27i think you just got to be more aggressive there and there are guys well he probably will do it
10:32i'm
10:32guessing he's going to do it this offseason trend and it you know he didn't this year that's obvious
10:36how you do sumo who was traded from the bulls to minnesota is killing it now in the postseason for
10:42minnesota 43 last you've got to find some somebody like that is what it's starting to look like and
10:48that's okay he wanted to see what he had this year they're early in their in their ascension there'll be
10:54other kicks at the can most likely here but he made the decision not to at least i want to
11:02i don't
11:02want to say sell the farm although i don't think minnesota paid much for the sumo at all but you've
11:06got
11:06to find a way to make a move whether it be through free agency or trade it looks like to
11:12add to their
11:12scoring options and and and then the deficiencies of some of those specialists won't seem as bad
11:18in fact those guys can be huge assets on championship caliber teams it's a big offseason for
11:24trajan langdon i think he kind of he gets kind of a semi-pass obviously he's done a tremendous job
11:28anyone suggesting he should be fired is ridiculous he took a 14 win team to the one seed and 60
11:33wins
11:34now the question is can they get some playoff success and i think now that you
11:38i see the obvious deficiencies of this team and what they're lacking
11:41this is the big offseason for trajan langdon to do something it's carson anderson 97-1
