01:14and by the way, the whole sport cares a great deal about, he's not very good at Caballero.
01:18Like, he doesn't hit the ball hard, he doesn't make good swing decisions, he chases a lot, he swings and
01:25misses a lot, he doesn't walk a lot.
01:27There's stuff like that.
01:28But he's outperforming all of it.
01:31Those numbers are usually predictive.
01:34That if you're bad at them, you will usually U-turn towards a bad outcome.
01:39And I think that the Yankees, probably down deep, think that that will happen to Jose Caballero.
01:45But you know what?
01:46We're not going to play this season on a spreadsheet.
01:49We're going to play it on a baseball field.
01:51And for five weeks, Jose Caballero has been, and especially the last three weeks, when his fielding evened out and
01:57he started to hit better,
01:59he is literally leading the major leagues in defensive run saves shortstop.
02:03He is literally leading the American League in stolen bases, and he is more than holding his own as a
02:09hitter.
