00:14as my daily. I use it in between all of my review devices, but there's a fun little challenge that
00:19I thought I would do because we are in a very beautiful spot. We're actually in Dubrovnik,
00:23Croatia. It's a beautiful backdrop. We've got some people just about to hop into the water right now.
00:27This will be a cool comparison between the brand new Oppo Reno 14. This is essentially a mid-range
00:33flagship. It's got a lot of the same specs or even better than the iPhone. We'll compare them
00:37over the next couple of days. I'll let you guys know my truly honest opinion. Can you switch over
00:42to Android after using an iPhone for a really long time? And let's enjoy the scene.

02:05So before we get into the actual comparison, just remember the key thing here is the price.
02:10So everyone knows what an iPhone starts at. So 800 US, over a thousand Canadian. That's for the base model.
02:15The Reno 14, on the other hand, is almost half the price as it's mid-range and that will vary
02:19by region,
02:20but you also have the 14F and 14Pro to kind of pick from.
02:23But just keep that in mind for the comparison. There's a big price difference, but if you just want to

03:04This actually has a 120Hz refresh rate, and when you compare that to, say, once again, the iPhone, 6.1

03:38So we've made it up to the top, more sun, but perfect to actually show off the design
03:43of the phone. It's quite windy. If you guys can hear me, that will be blessed. But this
03:46actually has something called a mermaid design. You can actually really see it nicely in the sunlight,
03:50how that reflects. It's almost like a pearlescent. You can see how it was inspired by what they
03:55say is mermaid tails, as the sun kind of hits it, versus what I would say is a pretty quintessential
04:02iPhone. It's just in a bunch of different colors. At least this year they did go a bit more saturated,
04:06which is nice. So you can see I've just got the blue one here. I'll let you guys be the
04:09judge,
04:10but I will give it to Oppo for just creating something a bit different.

04:30Obviously the ice cream is the best part too.
04:49So to the camera performance, which a lot of this video is kind of focused around. So initially,
04:54off the bat, you can see that the Oppo has three cameras. It has a 50 megapixel main,
04:59an 8 megapixel ultrawide, whereas the iPhone, that's rocking a 48 megapixel fusion camera,
05:03as well as the 12 megapixel ultrawide. I do think the iPhone takes better ultrawide photos,
05:08but as long as you're sticking to the main sensor of the Oppo,
05:11we've taken some really like good shots on the screen.
05:15Maybe it looks a bit on the cooler end, but I've actually pulled some to my computer already.
05:18I'll let you guys be the judge on some of the comparison shots here,
05:21but the colors look really good. Dynamic range is being great.
05:23And the fact that you have the versatility, if you want to zoom in on the Oppo, I think is
05:27great.
05:27It's really easy to just snap a photo of this. You can record in 4K.
05:31I've taken once again, tons of B roll with this throughout that old town.
05:34And what I really like the most is you have the versatility for that ultrawide if you want.
05:37Remember, this is literally half the price of this. If you want the telephoto on the iPhone,
05:41you have to go to the Pro Max, which is once again, extra money.
05:45And don't even get me started on some of the AI stuff. I know that's thrown into every single smartphone.
05:50But for example, like image generation or just the ability to remove people from a photo.
05:55Within the AI editor, you have so many different options to choose from,
05:58from recompose, eraser, AI perfect shot, enhanced clarity, unblur, and even remove reflections.
06:03It's almost like a running joke in the tech scene how bad iPhones are with their AI.
06:09For all the money that Apple has, they just cannot seem to figure it out.
06:12And something as easy as removing people from the background or say removing like a figure on the face.
06:18That's like the classic one. The iPhone sucks.
06:21It's obviously a no brainer here. Oppo collaborating with Google for a lot of their AI work.
06:25If you want anything AI done, this one obviously takes the cake.

10:52But you also have to remember there's other options out there.
10:55And I think that's the key thing to remember for way cheaper almost half the price.

11:03I will say that the color profile it's a bit on the cooler side compared to a bit warmer on

11:09I've noticed that as I've started to edit some of the content on my computer for the camera.
11:13Once again, you've got an extra one that telephoto has more of the versatility.
11:17The ultra wide.
11:18I probably stay away from it.
11:20It still is good if you guys can hear.

11:32But it still baffles me how Apple gets away with a 60 Hertz panel in a device in 2025 and
11:38can charge that much money.

11:41Obviously, two phones are running different things.

11:44This has a color OS 15 over top.
11:46In my day-to-day routine using this to say navigate Google Maps, a bit of like translation,
11:50what you use a phone for on the daily, whether that's social media, whether you're playing a couple games.
11:55That performance, you don't really notice the two.
11:57Like I said, the biggest telltale will be are you team like Apple, team iOS?
12:02Are you stuck in that ecosystem?
12:04There are ways to get by.
12:05There are some app options over on the Oppo.
12:08It's similar to AirDrop where you can still share files like seamlessly to your MacBook if you want.
12:12And the last thing that this device does really well is the battery life.
12:156000 milliamps.
12:16You get more inside of the box.
12:17You get fast charging.
12:18Once again, still not too sure how Apple gets away with like, what, 3800?
12:23Slow charging.
12:24It's that Apple tax that you have to pay.
12:26And being an iPhone user, it's just refreshing to see, once again, other devices that just charge way less.
