00:00:00In Britain, the top 10% own over half the country's wealth.
00:00:06I have nice cars. I own a couple of race horses.
00:00:09It feels nice to have money.
00:00:11But while the rich are getting richer...
00:00:14It's a very profitable business that turns over well over £10 million a year.
00:00:18..the poor are getting poorer.
00:00:20It's tough.
00:00:21Hit hard by relentless price rises.
00:00:24A lot of posh people think poor people just sit on their bums all day on benefits.
00:00:29Once we've spent on food, we don't really have anything left over.
00:00:33I had bailiffs come in.
00:00:36Might be on its way out.
00:00:38Now, two families are swapping homes.
00:00:42That is very different.
00:00:43Yes.
00:00:44How many windows does a house need?
00:00:46How many doors?
00:00:47Budget.
00:00:48All right, this is where I get serious.
00:00:51Oh, God.
00:00:53And lives.
00:00:54It's our bloody work.
00:00:55It was way more challenging than I thought it would be.
00:00:59Champagne!
00:01:00I'm in heaven.
00:01:01To find out if money really does buy happiness.
00:01:06I love to have a walk in order.
00:01:08Oh, my goodness!
00:01:11Never been in a limo in the last.
00:01:14Or do people matter most?
00:01:16This is the nicest family time that us three have had together in years.
00:01:21And when they finally meet...
00:01:23Hello!
00:01:24...lives are changed forever.
00:01:27We'd like to gift you a van.
00:01:31We want to back your vision to a value of £100,000.
00:01:34Oh, my God!
00:01:35It's going to change everything for the better.
00:01:42The town of Wilmslow, near Manchester, is one of the most affluent in the UK.
00:01:48It's been home to some of the most famous faces in football.
00:01:53We're talking the Beckhams, Roonies and Rinaldos of this world.
00:02:00Houses don't get more luxurious than where businessman Joe Seeley hangs his hat.
00:02:05I would estimate the house is worth somewhere around 3.5 million at the moment.
00:02:10It's got six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two luxury kitchens, plus a cinema room, gymnasium and indoor pool.
00:02:24It's my family home.
00:02:26I think that we worked hard, me and my wife, for this home, for our children and for ourselves.
00:02:31Manchester and football go hand in hand.
00:02:34And the beautiful games played a big part in Joe's life.
00:02:39My dad was a footballer, played for Man United, Aston Villa.
00:02:42Everyone knew who my dad was.
00:02:44Close family, small family, very loving.
00:02:48Joe and his wife, Nicole, have got two children.
00:02:51They've both left home now and Nicole's also away for the week.
00:02:56He'll be joined on the swap by close family friend, Tracy.
00:03:01Joe and I met through our connection with my son, Dylan.
00:03:04Dylan was a West Ham professional football player.
00:03:09Back then, Joe was a football agent and Dylan one of his clients, until tragedy struck.
00:03:16When Dylan was 17, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
00:03:21And in 2014, we said goodbye to an amazing young man.
00:03:29Joe was there for him right to the end.
00:03:32Joe and his family worked closely with West Ham to organise the funeral.
00:03:37I'll be forever grateful for them being there at a time where I just didn't know how to function.
00:03:43After Dylan's death, Tracy gave up a high-powered executive job to form a cancer charity in his memory, DT38.
00:03:53So we now raise awareness and educate people around testicular cancer.
00:04:00Joe's a trustee of the charity and working together has created a strong bond.
00:04:05I would describe Joe as fiercely loyal and just so much fun to be around.
00:04:12With shares in 22 businesses, Joe turns over millions a year.
00:04:18I invested in businesses and the one that most people know now is Mr Whippy.
00:04:22I'm the joint major shareholder in that and I'm running that business day-to-day now.
00:04:28He's got to a stage in life where he has both money and time to indulge himself.
00:04:34I own a couple of race horses, I have nice cars.
00:04:38I can't believe that I like caviar, but I do.
00:04:48Just over 30 miles away, Widness, on the outskirts of Liverpool, couldn't be more different.
00:04:56It's one of the poorest towns in Cheshire.
00:05:01It's home to single mum, Steph, and her two children, Amelia, 12, and Darcy, 7.
00:05:08Our family is small but strong.
00:05:12We support each other.
00:05:20Steph rents a three-bedroom house that's seen better days.
00:05:27The downstairs floor is coming apart.
00:05:31Amelia's bedroom has mould.
00:05:33I'm completely petrified of moving that piece of wallpaper because you can see it running right down the side of
00:05:38the wall.
00:05:39She works up to six days a week from home doing phone sales, selling holidays she can only dream of.
00:05:47I mean, I would highly recommend this one.
00:05:50It is slightly more.
00:05:52But despite working long hours and being brilliant at her job, she struggles to make ends meet.
00:05:59Roughly what I'm left with after I've paid to keep the house and everything running is about £98 a week.
00:06:07And that's to cover food and anything else that we may need.
00:06:13Because Steph's both cash and time poor, her girls have to come first.
00:06:19Even though it costs her, their big treat is Morris dancing.
00:06:24They live and breathe it.
00:06:25How my ceiling light hasn't fell off from Amelia practising upstairs is an achievement in itself.
00:06:33Oh, thank you, pudding.
00:06:37Family means everything to her.
00:06:39Steph's mum, Gail, lives just up the road.
00:06:42She's determined to join them on the swap if she can.
00:06:45We're just like little ride or dies, the four of us together.
00:06:50It's getting old, it's no good, isn't it?
00:06:53Gail's been battling ill health and she's a constant worry for Steph.
00:06:58Scrumptious, isn't it?
00:07:01It's another challenge for a family that's seen tough times.
00:07:05Cancer took both Steph's grandfather and her sister.
00:07:08My sister passed away and it was dark for a couple of months and then Amelia was born.
00:07:15And she just brought this light, this huge sunshine into everybody's lives.
00:07:21And she still does that every single day.
00:07:27Sorry.
00:07:30I think what I want to gain from this week is to show my children they don't have to graph
00:07:36like mum 50 hours a week to just about get by.
00:07:39I love you.
00:07:40Give me a kiss.
00:07:43Joe might love his luxuries, but he's also got a big heart.
00:07:47He's hoping he can help someone turn things around and take their life in a new direction.
00:07:52At some point there's a sliding doors moment and that sets you off on that path.
00:07:57And I think you have to be brave.
00:07:59And also people behind you that tell you you can do it and not everyone has that.
00:08:07Day one.
00:08:08And it's time to swap houses.
00:08:11Come on then, let's go get dressed.
00:08:13Steph's having her usual busy morning getting Amelia and Darcy off to school.
00:08:17Right.
00:08:18Love you.
00:08:19They'll come straight on to the swap house.
00:08:23Joe's worrying about leaving his home comforts behind.
00:08:27I like everything about my house.
00:08:29I love going in the gym.
00:08:30I love my coffee machine.
00:08:33Steph's already looking forward to having more me time.
00:08:38Be kind of told, oh, take some time for yourself and stuff.
00:08:42I think it's going to be strange.
00:08:46It's only 30 miles between their houses, but their lifestyles are worlds apart.
00:08:58I didn't bring my tea bags.
00:09:00I didn't.
00:09:00Did you not?
00:09:01No.
00:09:01I've got no tea bags.
00:09:03What do you expect?
00:09:04What are we going to get?
00:09:05I think I've zeroed my expectations.
00:09:08So I'm going, I'll go like full in a city, but I have like a steak.
00:09:11Rubbish.
00:09:12Burnt out cars.
00:09:15Steph and Gayle have reached Leafy Wilmslow.
00:09:19Well, it's renowned, isn't it, for being a wealthy place.
00:09:25The houses are nice, aren't they?
00:09:32First impressions could set the mood for the week.
00:09:35Home sweet home, Tracy.
00:09:36Okay.
00:09:38It's got very old drain pipes.
00:09:40I'm going to get a problem with damp.
00:09:44You've got a chandelier out.
00:09:45You've got a chandelier outside the front door.
00:09:48What?
00:09:51Coming up, life on a budget gets off to a rocky start.
00:09:56Probably a five-hour sleep.
00:09:58Joe, there's no hot water.
00:10:01Steph discovers that both families' lives have been touched by tragedy.
00:10:06I'm crying for Joe.
00:10:07Yeah.
00:10:08Because he lost everything.
00:10:10Oh, no.
00:10:16For single mum Steph and her family, every day's a struggle.
00:10:21I don't show anyone or let anyone know that I'm getting stressed.
00:10:24Getting old's no good, you know.
00:10:28Businessman Joe Seeley doesn't have a worry in the world.
00:10:31I can't believe that I like caveat, but I do.
00:10:37And when rich and poor change places, it's a shock for both.
00:10:44In we go.
00:10:47I love you, mummy.
00:10:48I couldn't have any other mum as good as you.
00:10:52That's nice, isn't it?
00:10:52That's sweet, yeah.
00:10:54The Seeleys.
00:10:55That's going to be the last name, isn't it?
00:10:58Seeleys.
00:10:59Come on, mother.
00:11:00Get on board with it.
00:11:01With it.
00:11:01Right.
00:11:04Oh, my gosh.
00:11:07Oh, it's beautiful, isn't it?
00:11:10That light is bigger than my house.
00:11:14Everyone's first task is to discover as much as they can about their house.
00:11:19What windows have I done?
00:11:22I wonder what they're for.
00:11:23Dancer of the day.
00:11:25He's very small.
00:11:26He's a quite young child.
00:11:27Five to six years old.
00:11:28Yeah.
00:11:29This one's 11 to 12.
00:11:30Yeah, it's two kids.
00:11:33It doesn't look like a house.
00:11:35It's got children.
00:11:37No, actually, it doesn't.
00:11:38No.
00:11:40There's a picture of the couple.
00:11:42Ah.
00:11:43Oh, they look nice.
00:11:46This must be maybe mum and daughter.
00:11:49What do they look like?
00:11:50Hmm.
00:11:52Maybe.
00:11:52Yeah, maybe.
00:11:54Where in a house like this would you find the tea bags?
00:12:03Look, this is like my one.
00:12:05Oh, so this is the same lady.
00:12:07Kids are the same.
00:12:08Yeah.
00:12:10Utility room.
00:12:11The utility room is home to prize family photos.
00:12:17Les Sealy.
00:12:18Oh, look at the background.
00:12:21Oh, Stephanie.
00:12:22I know.
00:12:23Look.
00:12:24I know.
00:12:25I know.
00:12:26I know.
00:12:27Being Liverpool fans, we may need to holy water ourselves when we get home.
00:12:31She's a goalie.
00:12:34So if that's Les Sealy, is that his dad?
00:12:41I don't know what he does then.
00:12:43Could, like, the sun be football related?
00:12:49Two names.
00:12:51Amelia Darcy.
00:12:54It's like Christmas.
00:12:55They're shoes.
00:12:56They're dancing shoes.
00:12:58Trophies.
00:13:00Yeah.
00:13:02Morris dancing.
00:13:05I do have a photo wall like this and it's nice to see that it's not just me
00:13:09that likes to not brag but kind of put it out there for the world to see.
00:13:13This is our family.
00:13:14This is who we are.
00:13:17Yeah, I'm looking at the pictures that are around.
00:13:19She's a single mum.
00:13:22Little office staff.
00:13:25I mean, she works from home.
00:13:27Being here when the children get home, that's a big comfort for a mum.
00:13:34Back in Wilmslow, two very excited young girls have arrived.
00:13:40Oh, it's massive.
00:13:46Wow.
00:13:50It's huge.
00:13:51How tall is that light, Darcy?
00:13:53Is that taller than our house?
00:13:55No.
00:13:57Each family has left a welcome card for their mystery guests.
00:14:00There is a gym out back.
00:14:03Oh.
00:14:04A cinema upstairs.
00:14:06No way.
00:14:07With popcorn and sweets and an indoor pool and sauna to enjoy.
00:14:14We thought you may like some of our favourite treats for a movie night.
00:14:18We said the same thing.
00:14:19Yeah.
00:14:20Mum, Steph, Nangal, Amelia and Darcy.
00:14:23Have a wonderful week.
00:14:25Love, Joe and Tracey.
00:14:33Now to discover the all-important sleeping arrangements.
00:14:37It's one of the kids' rooms, isn't it?
00:14:39All papers painted in.
00:14:40It's a bit damp.
00:14:41Ceiling paper's coming off.
00:14:42I wonder if it's a house they own or if it's one they rent.
00:14:47Normally, when you rent, you don't have that luxury of being able to change all these things.
00:14:53Darcy's room is tiny.
00:14:54What's going to happen when she's older?
00:14:58Normally they want a bigger bed and then they want a small double, don't they?
00:15:01Yeah.
00:15:02Can you get a minute?
00:15:03Because that's a daily bed.
00:15:05It's no surprise that Darcy's already chosen her new bedroom and she's desperate to show
00:15:11it to Mum.
00:15:12Oh, it's pink.
00:15:14It's very pink.
00:15:16It's definitely a girly room.
00:15:20Oh, good.
00:15:21This is a good-sized room, Joe.
00:15:23It's got a TV.
00:15:25Dibs.
00:15:26It's a lot smaller than what I'm used to.
00:15:29I mean, my bed's big at home, but it's not this big.
00:15:36Now, it's crunch time.
00:15:38How much spending money do they have for their week at the other end of the wealth divide?
00:15:4320, 40, 60.
00:15:47It's insane before we even know how much it is.
00:15:5098.50.
00:15:5298.70.
00:15:5398.72.
00:15:54Just show of a ton.
00:15:5716, 17, 18, 19.
00:16:02How can you howl?
00:16:04Two grand.
00:16:05For a week.
00:16:06For a week.
00:16:08There'll be no caviar this week, Trice.
00:16:10There'll be no caviar.
00:16:11There might not be eggs.
00:16:13They know their budget, and they've also left each of their activity boards for the week.
00:16:20Morris dancing.
00:16:21That's you.
00:16:21No, I am not dancing with bells on my...
00:16:25No, I'm not dancing.
00:16:26It'll be fun.
00:16:27Horse riding.
00:16:28Horse riding.
00:16:31Hairdresses.
00:16:32What can I make for?
00:16:34The big pitch.
00:16:35So I work in sales, so you do like a sales pitch.
00:16:38Like a sales pitch.
00:16:38You know what I mean?
00:16:40Food shop on a budget.
00:16:42And then Gail's Garden.
00:16:44I've got Asher turf.
00:16:46It's the best thing I've ever bought.
00:16:47I've not had to do anything to it in 11 years.
00:16:49Except for over it.
00:16:51Piccolino?
00:16:52Piccolino.
00:16:53Might have something to do with food.
00:16:58It's been a long day, and food's on Jo's mind, too.
00:17:05It's a strange truth, but in every house, there's a half-used packet of pasta.
00:17:15With more money than she can spend, Steph's broken the habit of a lifetime and got a takeaway.
00:17:22More like a normal day?
00:17:23Definitely not.
00:17:24Mm-hmm.
00:17:25Is that all right?
00:17:26Yeah, it's lovely.
00:17:28Have I got much of a mess to clean up?
00:17:30I've got to be honest, I'm not the cleanest.
00:17:35It's almost bedtime, but there's one last job.
00:17:39Each day, they'll record a secret diary, and Jo's taking no chances of being disturbed.
00:17:46How anybody could have £2,000 for a week is just madness.
00:17:51Makes me feel sick.
00:17:52How will I survive this week?
00:17:55One day at a time.
00:18:00Day two, and there are some fuzzy heads in witness.
00:18:06Probably a five-hour sleep.
00:18:07It took me age to fall asleep.
00:18:09Normally, I fall asleep really quick at home.
00:18:15Over in Wilmslow, the girls are having a swim before school.
00:18:21They just couldn't wait.
00:18:27Tracy would like a dip too, but the gas has run out.
00:18:32Jo, there's no hot water.
00:18:37I presume there's a gas top-up yard somewhere I've never had to top over anything in my life
00:18:43the only thing I top up is the petrol sort of fridge I mean topping up the gas that's a
00:18:52big
00:18:52chunk of wasted time yeah I do 15 pounds please how much do people normally do 20 30 40
00:19:04all different yeah thank you very much see you later that whole process took 20 minutes now I
00:19:13don't know she drives today it's sunny it's nice out if you had to do that in the rain early
00:19:18in the
00:19:18morning then you're dragging two kids down the road to the shop that's a daily struggle
00:19:26life's not going to plan in Wilmslow either nanny Gail was determined to see the week out but she's
00:19:33woken up feeling rotten fortunately some friends have offered to look after her it's not about how
00:19:40much money you have or how big your house is it's about like family and who you have to back
00:19:48you up
00:19:48whenever you're in trouble mum said she thought she was letting me down and she was letting the girls
00:19:54down and I will quote my daughter when Amelia said you will be letting us down nanny if you stay
00:20:02not if
00:20:03you go Steph's first visitor couldn't be more welcome with her mum having to go home she's more
00:20:13happy to find Joe's mum on the doorstep nice to meet you nice to meet you how are you doing
00:20:21I'm
00:20:22doing all right how are you excellent I'm okay how you're finding it it's madness absolutely you're

00:20:52a free
00:20:52bedroom cottage so he comes and stays at mine takes it over so he'll be fine honestly I'll be honest
00:20:59his
00:20:59picture over there was the first thing I seen and he just emanates like this kindness like his smile
00:21:05is like he just seems like a genuinely lovely person you know he really really is he's very
00:21:12funny very warm and very kind and you know the story of the lady with the purple hair no so
00:21:20that's
00:21:21Tracy okay Tracy's family yeah we're good friends and their son Dylan it was before he was 20 got
00:21:31cancer and he died when he was 21 oh no he was a footballer who played for West Ham okay
00:21:40and Joe was
00:21:41very close with Dylan very very close that was back when Joe was a football agent and represented Dylan
00:21:48after he passed Tracy set up a foundation when Joe was on the board of the trustees right the charity
00:21:58as well yeah so they got like really really close but as families they were close so yeah that's who
00:22:07it is
00:22:07on the picture front yes I've gone into the utility room there's some pictures on the wall right I'm gonna
00:22:14be honest I'm a Liverpool fan and sort of walked in my husband Joe's dad played for Man United did
00:22:22he
00:22:22following his dad's what he did he was also a goalkeeper he was at West Ham okay and he dislocated
00:22:29his
00:22:29shoulder and they actually said to him if it dislocates again yeah you won't be able to play anymore
00:22:38and it dislocated again oh no so it was awful so he sort of lost his career and then
00:22:50two weeks later his dad died oh my god it's 24 years ago honestly I'm not crying because I'm crying
00:23:00for Joe yeah because he lost everything and he was 18 oh my god but it just upsets me for
00:23:09him yeah
00:23:10when I actually talk about it I'm learning from this experience that you can be at any point on the
00:23:19wealth scale you could be right at the top or right at the bottom but the subjective grief and loss
00:23:24is
00:23:25something that links us all together Steph and the girls have been trying to link clues around the house
00:23:33with Joe's life and have noticed some enticing items can I ask you a question yes where does the
00:23:40mr. whippy thing come from okay so my kids were like yeah so Joe his brain works all over the
00:23:52place
00:23:52actually I think if when he was a child if ADHD had been around he had it he would ring
00:23:57me and go oh
00:23:58oh we've just been talking about this idea what do you think I'll go stop ringing me with ideas for
00:24:02yeah businesses or whatever so a friend of Joe's owned the trademark for mr. whipping right okay
00:24:11this is Joe and ideas again right why don't we make mr. whippy cupcakes which they then did and
00:24:19he's the one he goes out to all the shops yeah head offices yeah yeah and he's put them in
00:24:25quite a lot
00:24:26of stores so he's took an existing and just expanded it out yes a whole new market yeah really
00:24:31yeah there's no stopping him is not so something else about Joe what he loves to do and still does
00:24:39love to do is sing singing yeah nobody else enjoys it right okay it does remind me a bit of
00:24:47what I'm
00:24:48going through with Amelia at the minute so Amelia loves singing she loves musical yeah there's certain
00:24:52things she can sing I'm not gonna lie and there's a whole lot of things you can't and the whole
00:24:57lot
00:24:58of things that she can't she feels that if the louder she gets the better she'll get when they
00:25:03meet they could do a little duet brilliant brilliant next living on a budget makes even simple things hard
00:25:14it's stressful and it's a rush saleswoman Steph tries her hand at being mrs. whipping take the
00:25:22pen get him to sign there and then imagine no pressure Joe lives off the pressure
00:25:35millionaire businessman Joe and his friend Tracy are having trouble settling in probably a five-hour
00:25:41sleep Joe there's no hot water Steph's living the rich life but also has a problem her mum's ill and
00:25:51she
00:25:51has had to leave and I will quote my daughter you will be letting us down nanny if you stay
00:25:58not if you go
00:26:02day three and Steph's relieved that her mum's feeling better she's got a support network it takes like the
00:26:11pressure off me because I know she's got all that help there I think it's gonna help me relax and
00:26:17enjoy
00:26:17it more as an experience because I've not got that massive worry going on at the house in witness Joe's
00:26:27found something that worries him deal so she's got debt of 15,238 pounds on short-term loans she's
00:26:39paying 210 pound a month now where do you find that sort of money to clear that sort of yeah
00:26:47well
00:26:47there's two questions and I don't know one why you be taking it what's the reason for it yeah we
00:26:55need to
00:26:55have a bit more understand of a you know stable affairs across the life with perfect timing Steph's best
00:27:04friend Fiona calls by to check on the newcomers she'll be able to tell them anything they need to know
00:27:09nice to meet you nice to meet you so you know this has better than me so I met Steph
00:27:16in a work
00:27:17capacity she was a recruitment consultant okay I was looking for a job after being made redundant
00:27:23so she signed me on with the agency that she worked for okay time so what does Steph do for
00:27:28a living
00:27:28now then and Steph sells holidays for a living now so she works from home seems to enjoy it she
00:27:34has a
00:27:34good setup here okay what was hard to work in the same place you live I I find it hard
00:27:39to work at home
00:27:40yeah everyone does but I I do yeah difficult what she does is she helps the kids come home from
00:27:45school
00:27:46she'll do their tea etc then obviously they'll have their quality time when the kids go to bed she'll
00:27:53carry on work how many hours a day does she do about 12 hours a day and I believe it's
00:27:58around about minimum
00:27:59wage that she's on given the distractions at home Joe's got a lot of respect for staff as a sales
00:28:06agent it's
00:28:07extremely difficult to survive especially in that industry she's working in because it's seasonal so
00:28:15you have good months the bad month so I come across some paperwork yeah that shows of some debt mm
00:28:21-hmm tell
00:28:21me a bit about how did she get into it and Steph went through divorce and over the last couple
00:28:26of
00:28:26years she's then gone from a two-income family to a one-income family that's a terrible situation to be
00:28:33in
00:28:33that's that's that's real isn't it because she's not just fending for herself she's fending for two
00:28:38little girls having been a busy mom with kids Tracy's full of admiration for staff the current high
00:28:46cost of living I can't imagine how she juggles all the responsibilities and makes ends meet
00:28:53over in Wilmslow saleswoman staff is visiting Joe's workplace the head office of MJP Whippy she doesn't
00:29:03know it but she's going to be offered what could be the biggest break of her entire career come
00:29:08and others have a seat let's say she's meeting Michael Joe's business partner and Jemima the company's
00:29:15head of production so I had the mr. Whippy brand yeah and Joe partly owned a cupcake factory so Joe
00:29:26said why don't we do cupcakes put the mr. Whippy heritage onto a cupcake you know the raspberry topping
00:29:32there's a hundred and thousand sprinkles Joe came on board so we launched the cupcakes very
00:29:39successful and in the first four to five months we sold 1.5 million cupcakes how many yeah sorry
00:29:47yeah 1.5 million million cupcakes yeah just on launch so we just elaborate on that yeah we've got loads
00:29:55of
00:29:56things happening this year Joe and Michael are developing a range of doughnuts but it's a long
00:30:02way from product idea to shopping basket they're hoping Steph could offer some useful ideas right
00:30:10grab the doughnut Steph's perfectly placed to create a product for a busy mom who needs to watch the pennies
00:30:17no
00:30:18come a bit mess that that's a good effort it's a totally new concept a doughnut that could be cut
00:30:25in
00:30:25half to please two kids I like your creation there that's good really good could be the best seller so
00:30:32I think you've done great today once we've done some sampling tasting testing we'd go to a retailer to
00:30:41pitch the product right Joe would normally do the pitch but now he knows Steph's a good saleswoman he's
00:30:49persuaded Michael to send her in his place there's one retailer which I believe want to test a few
00:30:58different versions and why don't we send you as our representative how do you feel about that on the spot
00:31:09to a retailer yeah if she can land the company a real-life contract it will prove she's got what
00:31:16it takes in sales it could even be the sliding door take the game to sign there and then imagine
00:31:25no no
00:31:27pressure Joe lives off the pressure on the way home Steph calmed her nerves with some shopping
00:31:37therapy Darcy you come and sit down for a minute nothing for herself of course but expensive gifts
00:31:45for the girls and I phone for Darcy and there's expensive technology for Amelia too I spent four hundred and
00:32:05sixty-five
00:32:05pound and that was before the brand new dresses hi dad and she said she's actually Joe and Tracy are
00:32:23learning that every day for staff is a round of jobs this afternoon they're tidying Nana Gail's garden
00:32:31always a bit of a nightmare for staff there's a lot of leaves around I hate gardening I've always
00:32:41hated gardening I remember doing a bit with my mom when I was a kid and I hated it then
00:32:46having money
00:32:48has separated both Joe and Tracy from the daily grind of life today isn't gonna be easy for them I
00:32:56found it
00:32:57like taking up time that I would like to spend elsewhere so it made me realize that Stephanie doesn't have
00:33:05the
00:33:05luxury to do that oh my god that is my day with two thousand pounds spending money this week Steph
00:33:25got
00:33:26plenty left and can't stop herself spoiling the girls I can always make it bigger or smaller if we need
00:33:31it
00:33:32it's special for the girls to go horse riding because Amelia did do horse riding and absolutely loved it
00:33:37good girl relax well done oh my gosh you are a pro Amelia's riding lessons stopped when Steph could no
00:33:46longer afford them you're doing so well come on thirty five pounds for a half an hour was just not
00:33:51possible
00:33:52keep going it's never nice to tell your child she can't do something well done you're doing amazing
00:34:00oh thank you she's doing so well look at the smile on her face you can't not think she's enjoying
00:34:07this
00:34:07well can you feel like you should get her off more often over here decide to let her ride do
00:34:15you know
00:34:15what I'd love to I have a daughter she's four and she doesn't ride that pony enough so thank you
00:34:21I'm
00:34:21happy to have you over here to get some lessons yeah yeah yeah she has her outfit ready now as
00:34:27well so
00:34:27absolutely it would be a crime not to get you back on that horse wouldn't it come on don't cry
00:34:33I'm not gonna have you crying on a pony come on
00:34:41Joe and Tracy are realizing that in Steph's life downtime doesn't exist their next task is a budget shop
00:34:50but how much should they spend maybe 25 to 30 pounds I imagine Steph runs in supermarket it's got
00:34:58a short amount of time kids are in the car back at you know when I go shopping I don't
00:35:01think about
00:35:01time I quite enjoy walking around supermarket I'll write your shopping list and then off I'll time you
00:35:07outside of the shops and see how you go Joe's in for a shock Tracy reckons busy mum Steph would
00:35:17allow
00:35:17herself around 15 minutes there's nothing in life I enjoy only doing for 15 minutes she wants to
00:35:27tangerine for the orange and the chase but you never know watching the budget doesn't come easy for a man
00:35:33who wouldn't blink at spending hundreds on his weekly shop it's stressful it's show it's sharp and it's a
00:35:42rush no great can he make the right choices and you get two of the everyday bits instead of one
00:35:50of the
00:35:50expensive one four pound four pound four pound two pound 85 oh but no coffee I can't use that I've
00:36:03only got
00:36:08cash 24 quid 24 or 90 please thank you
00:36:16sorry Joe you missed it I've got to the till with time to spare but then because I went to
00:36:21the self
00:36:21check out and that was card only I had to come back out and someone got in front of me
00:36:25with a massive trolley
00:36:30back at the house Joe faces another of staffs tasks batch cooking for the week when my dad died my
00:36:39mom did everything for me and then my mom got ill about a year and a half after she got
00:36:46cancer and she
00:36:49was too ill to cook for me and I used to watch the cooking channel and I learned to cook
00:36:56like that I
00:36:57needed to cook for myself and for my brother cooking brings back memories of hard times and the gap that
00:37:04his dad's passing created like the biggest thing for me is that my dad will never meet my family
00:37:16life's not perfect not even for me
00:37:27now I mean I'd give everything I've got to have another day with my dad
00:37:40here you go Trace oh thank you some stew it looks lovely no it definitely hearty and fill you up
00:37:48as my
00:37:48name's recipe thank you steps working a self-employed commission-based job from home with two kids
00:37:56helping looking after a mom doing the gardening doing the food shop getting gas and doing everything else it's
00:38:06it's a lot harder than my life
00:38:10coming up Steph's future is on the line when she makes a crucial sales pitch
00:38:16oh I was so nervous I was shaking from head to toe
00:38:20get going Joe plucks up courage and struts his stuff
00:38:24off I've done some things in my time that that's up there
00:38:37for single mom Steph everything's riding on what could be her sliding doors moment the big sales pitch
00:38:43and why don't we send you as our representative how do you feel about that put on the spot
00:38:49um joe and Tracy are shocked at the situation Steph's got herself trapped in
00:38:58deal she's got debt of 15,238 pounds day four and the clock's ticking for Steph later today she's doing
00:39:10her big sales pitch for Joe's doughnuts so she's investing a few hundred quid on a visit to a posh
00:39:16hair salon
00:39:22celebrity stylist Michael Blahn is an old friend of Joe's
00:39:27I'm excited and nervous feeling like maybe just maybe like I might come out feeling like a bit of a
00:39:34different person
00:39:35so yeah what we're gonna do we're gonna take this off yeah and do the hair color first yeah and
00:39:41then
00:39:41we fit the extension for you okay the icing on the cake is that her mom rung to say she's
00:39:47feeling better
00:39:47so Steph's invited her along for a makeover too
00:39:51super super super excited to see her
00:39:55and I'm not even sorry for crying
00:39:59so why you choose to be cherry brown then
00:40:01I thought I'm doing this crazy experience I'm going bold and brave and it's just thought you know why not
00:40:10reflect that
00:40:12Gail's on her way even though mum's not well enough to rejoin me full-time for the week it was
00:40:19it was a be-all and end-all that I had to have my mum coming to the salon she
00:40:23had to be spoiled
00:40:24I'm thinking one of this chocolate color
00:40:27oh it's lovely
00:40:29the one thing I've always wanted to do for my mum because she's always there for me is get her
00:40:33preened and pampered
00:40:40what's giving Gail most pleasure is seeing Steph's transformation
00:40:44she used to get a hair done nice but erm
00:40:49no not anymore not anymore
00:40:53she doesn't treat herself because
00:40:55she doesn't have the money
00:40:57and what money she has
00:40:59is for the girls
00:41:03she always looks lovely don't get me wrong she does
00:41:06but no
00:41:08she's very selfless in that respect
00:41:10about herself
00:41:12very much so
00:41:14you just look like you're getting your spark back
00:41:18you like it yeah?
00:41:19I love it thank you so much
00:41:21the bill is just over 600 pounds
00:41:26I'm so excited
00:41:27and with all the treats she's bought for the girls
00:41:30her 2,000 pounds spending money for the week has now dwindled to under 500
00:41:38in witness the sun's out
00:41:41Joe and Tracy have headed to the park to meet Nana Gail's oldest friend Pauline
00:41:47I've known them for a long time since they moved in opposite me
00:41:51it probably is about 25 to 30 years
00:41:55so what are they like as a family?
00:41:57they're very close as a family
00:41:59and they've had quite a tough life actually
00:42:03they've had a number of deaths in the family
00:42:05so they had first of all Steph's sibling
00:42:08Stevie he had a lot of disabilities
00:42:11and he died quite early when he was only about 14, 15 I think
00:42:15and then Steph's sister Louise died of cancer
00:42:19how has that affected Steph and Gail?
00:42:23massively as you can imagine losing a sibling and a daughter
00:42:27is a really big thing in somebody's life
00:42:30it's been very difficult
00:42:33to hear what Steph and Gail have both gone through in their life
00:42:37really resonated with me
00:42:39and that's the strength of a mother
00:42:43Gail's not been too well recently
00:42:46so Steph's spent quite a bit of time helping her around the house
00:42:50cleaning, gardening, that sort of thing
00:42:53I think Steph's coming across like she's got a heart
00:42:57she cares for her family, cares for her mum
00:43:00and she's putting them all first
00:43:02where does she fit time in for Steph?
00:43:05The more Joe learns about Steph's life
00:43:08and the grief and loss she's experienced
00:43:10the more he admires her
00:43:12he wants to arrange an extra special treat for the family
00:43:15his mum's mat staff
00:43:17so he rings her for advice
00:43:19do they get to go out as a family?
00:43:21you know, Steph's gonna go out
00:43:23I said to her, did she ever go out even with her girlfriend?
00:43:26and she doesn't
00:43:27Steph mentioned that the girls love dancing and like musicals
00:43:32so I think a nice night at the theatre or something
00:43:37would just be a really, really appreciated treat for them
00:43:42and a really nice thing for you to give them
00:43:48Back at the house
00:43:50the countdown for Steph's pitch meeting continues
00:43:54I've done research as any sales person does do
00:43:57I've got the facts I need
00:43:59I've got the personality
00:44:00so I'll just put the two together and see how we go
00:44:05do you think I'm gonna do good?
00:44:06yeah
00:44:07yeah, why do you think I'm gonna do good?
00:44:09cause, cause, cause, cause you're brilliant
00:44:12thank you baby
00:44:15I feel an extremely nervous
00:44:18a little bit sick
00:44:22it feels like that
00:44:23oh, that's a reason
00:44:29the big moments arrived
00:44:30Steph's minutes away from representing MJP Whippy
00:44:34at a crucial meeting with Casper's
00:44:37the fastest growing dessert chain in the UK
00:44:39I was so nervous
00:44:41I was shaking from head to toe
00:44:44as she enters the Dragon's Den
00:44:46the stakes are high
00:44:47nice to meet you
00:44:48she's pitching the new donut range
00:44:51to some powerful players
00:44:53including Francesco
00:44:54the group managing director
00:44:58so, first of all
00:44:59thank you all so much for taking time out of your day
00:45:02obviously, Mr Whippy
00:45:03iconic brand
00:45:05you know, it's that ice cream in the park
00:45:07it's the flake
00:45:09it's the hundreds and thousands
00:45:10or your sherbets and your raspberries
00:45:12so we branched out into cupcakes
00:45:14just over a year ago
00:45:15and people were looking at them
00:45:17and recognising straight away
00:45:19like
00:45:20this looks like a 99er
00:45:22or this looks like, you know, an ice cream we had
00:45:23the demand was massive
00:45:25so
00:45:26branched out into donuts
00:45:29wherever they evolve
00:45:31it's keeping that
00:45:32cone ice cream look
00:45:34that comfort feel
00:45:36so this is our bubblegum
00:45:39and then is your
00:45:42raspberry ones
00:45:43again, sticking with the absolute eye-catching design
00:45:46of an ice cream
00:45:47makes me want to go to a park
00:45:48especially with it being sunny
00:45:51yeah
00:45:52how did you pick up these two flavours?
00:45:54we've tried to just stay with the typical
00:45:57classic ice cream flavours
00:45:59and that's kind of where we brought the bubblegum
00:46:01into the donuts
00:46:02yeah
00:46:03that's very true
00:46:04we sell quite a lot of bubblegum ice cream
00:46:07so we know that
00:46:08it's a common trend
00:46:11very good
00:46:12not to put you on the spot after I give you a bit of sugar
00:46:14nothing like softening you
00:46:16but I mean
00:46:16would this be something that you guys would potentially be
00:46:19interested in?
00:46:21yeah
00:46:21I will tell you this is a very interesting product
00:46:25and I got a feeling that this appeals
00:46:27all generations in a way
00:46:29yeah
00:46:29it's like if I was out with my grandad
00:46:31and then also with my seven year old
00:46:33it would appeal to all three of us
00:46:35which I think is a massive
00:46:36a massive selling point
00:46:38exactly
00:46:38so I think it can go also with some of the other offerings
00:46:41we have drinks or milkshakes
00:46:43and particularly coffee
00:46:45for us to match a product with a drink
00:46:49is what we're all about
00:46:51brilliant
00:46:51well I would like to thank you so much
00:46:54obviously we'll stay in contact regarding launch date
00:46:57and numbers and things like that
00:46:58but I'm glad to have met you all
00:47:01thank you so much
00:47:02it was a pleasure to meet you
00:47:03and you all take care
00:47:04take care
00:47:05bye now
00:47:06has Steph pulled off the impossible
00:47:08and done a deal that could change her life forever?
00:47:12I've always lived in a bubble
00:47:13it's safe and secure
00:47:14and familiar
00:47:15and I'm maybe learning that
00:47:17I don't always have to play it safe
00:47:18and stay in that bubble
00:47:20I can come out of it
00:47:21and just try something new
00:47:22like I've just done in there now
00:47:27having learned that Steph's girls are mad about dancing
00:47:31Joe and Tracy have come to a local Morris dancing club
00:47:34to find out why they love it so much
00:47:39they're meeting dance trainer Shell
00:47:46well it was Morris dancing come back round
00:47:48because it was around when I was a kid
00:47:49and I just thought that no one did it anymore
00:47:51are you thinking of the men with sticks kind of Morris dancing?
00:47:55yeah that's still in existence
00:47:56but this is a different form
00:47:58so this form of Morris dancing came to fruition in the war
00:48:02when there was no men
00:48:03and so the ladies took it over as a hobby
00:48:05and it's evolved
00:48:08so I see that Amelia and Darcy have a lot of medals
00:48:10and how much dedication does it take to become that good at Morris dancing?
00:48:13they will have maybe one or two practice nights
00:48:16and also there's the competitions on a Sunday
00:48:20it does take a lot of dedication and a lot of commitment
00:48:25in the middle there
00:48:26in here? in there
00:48:27have I got a coffee?
00:48:28get going
00:48:29come on then
00:48:35I've done some things in my time but
00:48:37that's up there
00:48:41seeing everyone have such a great time
00:48:44has given Joe an idea for his special treat
00:48:46he's going to arrange a day of dancing for Steph's girls
00:48:50like they've never had before
00:48:52well done
00:48:53well done
00:48:57coming up
00:48:58Joe sets his plan in motion
00:49:01your pink limo awaits
00:49:02shut the front door
00:49:07but as each day passes in witness
00:49:09living on the poverty line gets steadily more wearing
00:49:14every decision
00:49:14every thought you make
00:49:16all reverts back to have you got enough money
00:49:24Steph's sales skills have been put to the test
00:49:27it's keeping that cone ice cream look
00:49:30that comfort feel
00:49:31but will she clinch the contract?
00:49:34I've always lived in a bubble
00:49:35maybe I can come out of it
00:49:37and just try something new like
00:49:38I've just done in there now
00:49:41living a week of Steph's life
00:49:43Joe's realising that she's gradually being ground down
00:49:47I said to her
00:49:48did she ever go out even with her girlfriend?
00:49:50and she doesn't
00:49:54Day 5
00:49:54when Joe and Tracy first arrived
00:49:57they noticed that the girls' bedrooms were looking a bit sad
00:50:04the decorators are in
00:50:06and they're going to make Darcy's room fit for a princess
00:50:12Amelia's will be converted into a teenager's pad
00:50:17sometimes in life you need a little bit of help
00:50:20doing the house up a little bit
00:50:21just freshening it up
00:50:22and helping the kids have better rooms
00:50:24will take a little bit of stress off step
00:50:26and I want her to feel good
00:50:29Mum! Dad!
00:50:30In Wilmslow
00:50:31a mystery envelope's appeared
00:50:33A little birdie told us
00:50:37that you love to sing, dance
00:50:38and spend your evening watching musicals
00:50:41so we're treating you to a chance to show off your moves
00:50:44in a dance lesson
00:50:45with a world class professional
00:50:48Joe's surprise treat gets even better
00:50:51as well as a dance lesson
00:50:53they'll also be travelling by limo
00:50:55to a musical at Manchester's Lowry Theatre
00:50:57Your pink limo awaits
00:51:00Shut the front door!
00:51:05Are you okay?
00:51:08Yeah
00:51:08Are you alright?
00:51:11That's like your dream isn't it?
00:51:18In the dance world
00:51:19Cadman's school of dance is hallowed turf
00:51:23and the home of champions
00:51:26It's very different from classes at the local Morris dancing hall
00:51:34The girls love dancing probably more than they love breathing
00:51:38every minute of every day
00:51:39in every room on the stairs
00:51:41walking to school brushing their teeth getting dressed
00:51:43they are dancing
00:51:46Cut them in half and you would just see the word dance
00:51:57Watching the girls dance was a bit scary
00:52:00because it's very different to what I usually do for dance
00:52:05One, two, three
00:52:07Cha-cha-cha
00:52:08one
00:52:08Cha-cha-cha
00:52:10Despite Amelia's fears
00:52:11both girls are naturals
00:52:13Through the middle
00:52:14yes
00:52:14Cha-cha-cha-cha
00:52:15through the middle
00:52:16Cha-cha-cha
00:52:18through the middle
00:52:18then big solo spin
00:52:20Spin round
00:52:21Cha-cha-cha
00:52:22Yeah, you did it!
00:52:24There we go!
00:52:26See?
00:52:27What was you so worried about?
00:52:29Hey!
00:52:34Jo and Tracy are having a well-earned coffee break
00:52:38Living Steph's life for a few days has worn them out
00:52:41I don't know, it's like I've got a consistent ache in my brain
00:52:45The language that, you know, you're thinking about
00:52:49The house, mess, washing up, clothes, nowhere to put anything
00:52:54I mean every decision, every thought you make, everything you eat
00:52:59Whether you have, whether you can have five eggs or three
00:53:01Or you can have toast, or three pieces of toast
00:53:04All reverts back to, have you got enough money?
00:53:07We do have a better understanding of, you know, just how hard it can be
00:53:11But I take my hat off to Steph if she puts her head on the pillow every night
00:53:15And gets eight hours sleep and goes again the next day because
00:53:19Well, it's Groundhog Day, innit?
00:53:20Yeah, it is Groundhog Day
00:53:24Life in the rich house couldn't be more different
00:53:32What's that?
00:53:33Steph and the girls are off to the theatre for the night of their lives
00:53:37Come on then, let's go!
00:53:40We've never been in a limo in the lives
00:53:42Right, can you get in baby?
00:53:46Oh my goodness!
00:53:48Look at this!
00:53:50For one to ten, how excited you are
00:53:53What number is it?
00:53:55Ten
00:53:55Ten?
00:53:56I mean a hundred million trillion zillions
00:54:02This whole week has been amazing and it's been brilliant
00:54:04But it's been busy and it's been hectic
00:54:06And it's been like going here and there and meeting everybody
00:54:08And this is the first time I've felt de-stress the entire week
00:54:12I've been able to just let loose with my kids
00:54:17Joe's managed to get tickets to a very special theatre experience
00:54:21Straight from taking London's West End by storm
00:54:25It's the hit musical version of Pride and Prejudice
00:54:28For me it feels amazing to be like not sat on our sofa with cuddly blankets on a Friday night
00:54:34watching a musical but we're actually going into a theatre to watch on which you spoke about loads but never
00:54:39done
00:54:42I think these two are going to be overwhelmed by the whole stage and lights and live performances and just
00:54:48honestly to watch the faces is going to be fantastic
00:54:50I feel like we'll grow up and remember this and be like wow this is crazy
00:54:59It's like unforgettable
00:55:03It's about to start so we're gonna go
00:55:06Bye!
00:55:07Bye!
00:55:11Hello Poe where are ya?
00:55:12Day six and Joe's house renovations are moving fast
00:55:17This morning there's a truckload of new furniture to get assembled
00:55:21Two bunk beds, big wardrobes as well
00:55:24Two new mattresses, nice and comfy
00:55:27Really appreciate it, really appreciate it
00:55:29They're heavy they are
00:55:31It's always nice when you can have new things and freshen things up so you know we're hoping that we
00:55:37haven't trodden on Steph's toes too much
00:55:43I wish I could do more but I've done the most we can do in the time we've got
00:55:54After all the treats this week Steph's made a big hole in their £2,000 spending money
00:56:00A visit to Joe's favourite Italian restaurant may be super pricey but they can still afford anything they want
00:56:08Shall we see if we can find the most expensive item on the menu?
00:56:12Are you ready?
00:56:14I found it!
00:56:17Definitely the Wagyu sale line it's £70
00:56:22It's really expensive
00:56:24Come on look!
00:56:25Are you ready to order?
00:56:26Yes, can we have the lasagna for this one please?
00:56:29Yeah, of course
00:56:29And can I get the Atlantic cod fillet please?
00:56:32Yeah, of course
00:56:34Come on be brave memes
00:56:35No!
00:56:36So she's going to have the Wagyu sirloin please
00:56:38Wagyu sirloin
00:56:39I don't often pull rank on my children but I pulled rank on that moment and I said this is
00:56:44the only opportunity you're going to get to have that steak like get the steak
00:56:47Well
00:56:48Look at that
00:56:49Thank you
00:56:50There you go
00:56:54Thank you
00:56:55Thank you so much
00:56:59Well that won't kill me
00:57:04I was saying to is it nice? Is it nice? Is it nice? And the kid she couldn't even speak
00:57:08she was like
00:57:10Is it good? Does that mean the two for a ton of steaks are out now?
00:57:17At the end it was like £200 I think
00:57:21For all the food
00:57:24I'm speechless how much it was really
00:57:27Me not
00:57:29Coming up
00:57:30Steph receives an offer that could change everything
00:57:35I just went and sold for you
00:57:37You do the deal you get paid
00:57:45Joe and Tracy have learned how tough Steph's life is
00:57:49She cares for her family, cares for her mum
00:57:52And she's putting them all first
00:57:54Where does she fit timing for Steph?
00:57:57But just for a moment, Steph and the girls have been touched by a little bit of magic
00:58:02It feels amazing to be like not sat on our sofa with cuddly blankets on a Friday night watching a
00:58:08musical but we're actually going into a theatre to watch them
00:58:13Day 7, the final day of the swap
00:58:17And it's time for everyone to pack their bags and return home
00:58:23Oh I'm so looking forward to going home Joe
00:58:25Oh I can't wait, Tracy
00:58:25I can't wait either
00:58:26I bet you can't wait to get away from me
00:58:30In all honesty I am super excited to be going home
00:58:33I cannot wait to walk in my front door into my cosy little house with my girls and just, yeah,
00:58:41be home
00:58:43Before she gets home, Steph will be catching up with Joe and Tracy
00:58:47And with her mum feeling better, she's going to leave the girls with Nana Gail
00:58:56The adults are getting together at a local pub
00:58:59Hello, I'm Joe, nice to meet you
00:59:02For Steph, there's a very large elephant in the room
00:59:06It's freezing
00:59:08Did she get Joe's company the contract she pitched for?
00:59:13How are you two? Did you survive my house?
00:59:16Of course we did, of course we did
00:59:18We had a good time, didn't we?
00:59:19Yeah, we enjoyed it
00:59:20How did you find my house?
00:59:21Big, no, it's lovely, absolutely lovely
00:59:25The girls loved it, Darcy was just beside herself
00:59:28The one thing she has said, it's like, Mum, I want the bed
00:59:31Can we take the bed?
00:59:34So she had to tell you, she slept amazing
00:59:36Good. Do you know what? I slept alright
00:59:38Did you? I slept alright, yeah
00:59:40So, what did they find out about each other?
00:59:43I learnt quite a lot about you this week
00:59:45And the truth is this, actually
00:59:47You are doing it hard
00:59:49For your family
00:59:50I want to teach the girls, it's like, I want them to have good work ethics
00:59:54Because you're working at night as well, aren't you?
00:59:56Yeah, I'll work till like, gone nine, ten at night
00:59:58Yeah, it's a credit to you and I think that
01:00:02That work ethic will go through them
01:00:05But the downside for Steph is that she doesn't get any time for herself
01:00:10My happiness is built around my money
01:00:12Because my money is making my life easy, which has given me then time
01:00:15Yeah
01:00:16Which you haven't got, I don't think
01:00:18You've got no time for...
01:00:23Anything
01:00:24You know, money does buy you time
01:00:26And I don't think we sometimes appreciate just what we have and how it could all be taken away tomorrow
01:00:34Yeah
01:00:35I lost a parent, you've lost a sister and a brother
01:00:37And Tracy's lost a child
01:00:38Yeah
01:00:40Tracy's right, we should get all the time we can out of the people we love
01:00:45Steph, how have you coped with the grief, you know, losing your sister, losing your family members that you've lost?
01:00:52I don't talk about it because I don't want to go back to that, so I just kind of leave
01:00:56it there
01:00:57I feel that I've learnt to deal with it a lot more openly, you know, like I chat to Dylan
01:01:04all the time, you know
01:01:05I don't want to block it away
01:01:06I want to have tears at times when I miss him
01:01:09And to grieve is natural, but to suppress it, that can't be good for us
01:01:14No, it's not good for us
01:01:16Meeting you in person has changed something for me that I didn't have in my mind
01:01:21I go to a hotel in the Lake District to a spa for a night or two nights
01:01:28I want you to go to that hotel
01:01:31Have some meals, have a walk, use the spa because you need to be a person as well
01:01:39Not forget your children or your home
01:01:41But maybe forget after 10 minutes, you know, but I think that clearness will be good for you
01:01:48And that's not all, Jo's also organised a Mediterranean holiday for the whole family
01:01:54But now, it's down to business
01:02:00You went to a meeting this week on behalf of our company
01:02:06Yeah
01:02:07Now, I then spoke to the CEO and buying officer who I've never met or spoke to
01:02:15And they were super impressed with your delivery, your product knowledge, everything to do with the aspects of the business
01:02:25And it looks like they're going to buy that product
01:02:28For Jo, it's all about the deal and he's come up with a whopper for staff
01:02:33What we've decided is when that order is completed
01:02:38We're going to give you the first 20 grand of the profit
01:02:40No, you're not
01:02:41And they want you to clear your debts
01:02:44And put some money in the bank
01:02:47I just went and sold for you
01:02:49No, but that's, but that's, you do the deal, you get paid
01:02:53You know that?
01:02:54Yeah
01:02:56So, it doesn't matter what they order, the first 20,000 pounds of profit will go to you
01:03:00After that, we'll work out a ratchet deal with you, where you continue to earn money off that forever
01:03:06Moving forward, I'm going to need a bigger sales team
01:03:09And I'm going to need people that work how you work
01:03:12The starting salary in our sales teams is 60 grand
01:03:16Sorry, what?
01:03:18Now, you haven't got to decide today, you can meet everybody
01:03:21Yeah
01:03:22And do what you want to do
01:03:24A little bit mind-blowing at the minute, I'm just trying to
01:03:2860,000 pounds
01:03:30That's that luck you talk about, isn't it?
01:03:32Yeah
01:03:33Maybe this is your sliding doors moment that someone gave me
01:03:38I don't go light-headed or quiet very often, but, erm
01:03:44I think it might be
01:03:47Full of amazing talent
01:03:48I deserve it
01:03:53Glad you are at all
01:03:53I don't think so much
01:03:59It's time for both families to return home
01:04:02And after a week living their high life, Steph and the girls must return to reality
01:04:07But first, they're in for a surprise
01:04:11Seriously?
01:04:12Oh my god, Das
01:04:16Oh my goodness
01:04:17Oh my goodness
01:04:20Look at that
01:04:22That is a pretty bed, isn't it?
01:04:24Yeah
01:04:27It's like a princess
01:04:29Do you love it?
01:04:32Yeah
01:04:36Home sweet home
01:04:39I'm so pleased to be here
01:04:41I mean, it's the happiest I've ever been to walk in my door
01:04:46What can it say?
01:04:47Oh!
01:04:47Oh, hey my!
01:04:51That's mad!
01:04:52You've changed up all paper and everything
01:04:55I know it's the last mirror
01:04:57I think it looks amazing
01:04:58And this is the one thing that I kept saying I wanted to do
01:05:01This room
01:05:05Joe's back in his happy place
01:05:07So what's he taking away from the week?
01:05:10It's really shined a spotlight on it this week, hasn't it?
01:05:14Just how fortunate of a position we're in
01:05:16I will never take anything for granted in my life again
01:05:21And what about Steph?
01:05:23My life isn't over yet
01:05:24It might just be beginning, to be honest
01:05:29So yeah, I think there is a life out there for me now
01:05:31If I just needed to be brave and do something like this
01:05:35Meet me
01:05:37Meet me, and we're going in for a hug
01:05:39First sisterly hug that we've had all week
01:05:43I'm walking back in my house today, a new person
01:05:46With a new life
01:05:48Right in front of me
01:05:49Yes
01:05:50Yes
01:05:50Yes
01:05:52Yes
01:05:53Yes
01:05:56Yes
01:06:00Yes
01:06:04Yes
