00:00You have no doubt at some point heard the phrase lies, damn lies, and statistics.
00:11I didn't make myself note, so hopefully I'll remember everything I wanted to say here.
00:18But this episode, fun with numbers, or aka fudging the numbers.
00:27I'm not talking about federal jobs report.
00:31Oh, the nation created 250,000 new jobs last quarter.
00:39Yeah, those numbers get fudged too, but I'm not talking about that.
00:45And everybody, the left, right, Democrats, Republicans, they all do this, so spare me the BS.
00:54Yes, it's the same with the unemployment numbers.
00:59People don't understand that unemployment, I've mentioned this in another episode, unemployment rate can actually go up at a time
01:15where more real jobs are actually created.
01:19How is that?
01:21Why is that the way the numbers are recorded?
01:28Unemployment is up or unemployment is down.
01:32The devil is in the details, and of course, the news never tells you, and I'll get into that more.
01:43I'm going to tack on clickbait everywhere and TLDR songs on the end of this episode.
01:50In one of them, the line, there's more to real journalism than just reporting what someone claims.
02:01Now, what matters regarding employment and unemployment is the labor participation, the labor workforce participation rate.
02:15Now, as people get older and go on retirement, that number would come down some.
02:22As younger people get older and enter the workforce, that helps drive the number up.
02:28So what matters is, is someone actually working or not?
02:38The labor participation rate, not the unemployment rate.
02:46Because, for example, someone gets laid off, they go to the unemployment office, they get on unemployment, they're recorded as
02:58unemployed.
03:00The number might go up.
03:03But as people find jobs, then of course, the number would adjust down.
03:10But what about, they don't want to ever tell you, especially the left and the media, there's more to real
03:19journalism than reporting what someone claims.
03:24Oh, the unemployment rate went down.
03:28Well, guess what?
03:32Maybe a thousand people, benefits ran out and they decided to stop looking for a job through the unemployment office.
03:48If they're out through some recruiter or on their own without still being registered and working through the unemployment office,
03:58they've dropped off the unemployment.
04:01They're still unemployed, but they're not in the number.
04:06Likewise, jobs start being created.
04:10Some people who may have decided to be a stay-at-home mom or dad for a while because they
04:17lost their job, decide then to start looking for work again.
04:22So they go back to the state, local, county, state, federal agency.
04:30I'm now officially looking for work with you again.
04:36Please help me find a job.
04:39Guess what?
04:41They've been unemployed potentially for years, but now all of a sudden, they're counted again as unemployed and the number
04:51goes up, even though for years they've been unemployed but weren't in the number.
04:59Lies, damn lies, statistics, the devil is in the detail.
05:04And it's not as if people are stupid.
05:08It is that it's never been explained to them.
05:14We are all ignorant of things that which we haven't yet researched.
05:19I've been involved in politics since the Jimmy Carter years.
05:24I know these games.
05:26I see these games.
05:28And again, left, right, Democrat, Republican, they all play up when the number sounds good and play down when the
05:38number sounds bad.
05:39But I mainly said all that to further expound on this.
05:46Just for sake of argument, and this is a real world situation.
05:53An employer I was with, this happened with.
05:57Now, it happened to happen while Rhino Rick Snyder was in office, so of course he was taking credit.
06:05But I'm going to use current governor of Michigan, wretched Whittler, who does the same thing too.
06:15A thousand new jobs are going to be created at 126 Main Street, Blathville.
06:28Eh, wrong, no.
06:31Oh, and if you listen to the news people, oh, report just in.
06:39Let me report what someone has claimed, not be a real journalist.
06:45There will be a thousand new jobs at 126 Main Street.
06:51The devil is in the details.
06:55Are there new construction jobs while a new facility is built on that empty land?
07:03Not necessarily there, even new jobs.
07:08A construction firm that already has staff is going to dedicate people to that address to build that building.
07:17Are they new, technically speaking?
07:21There are new jobs because that empty field for the last 250 years in a nation's existed.
07:33There's been nobody working at that property.
07:37Well, not true.
07:37It was probably a farm at one point, right?
07:41So there were dozens of people working there.
07:45But you get my point.
07:46It's been vacant for years, but now, hey, there's a building going up.
07:50But 50 construction jobs, eh, well, if they weren't working there, the same construction firm with the same people would
08:01be the next county over, the next state over.
08:05So are those new jobs technically on that ground?
08:10Now, new people are working, but the reality is, no, they are not new jobs.
08:19They are jobs people have temporarily relocated to that spot to build a building.
08:29So those are falsely claimed as new jobs that are not new jobs.
08:37Now, as in the case when I was working there, a computer center, not a data center.
08:47See the episode?
08:49I'm talking a computer center, a computer facility where, you know, administrators and programmers and help support desk people all
09:02work to keep the computers and the cash registers and the whatever, whatever operating at whatever place you're talking about.
09:13Not a thousand new jobs will be created at 126 Main Street.
09:20No, no, no, no.
09:25Wretched Whitler claims a thousand new jobs at 126 Main Street.
09:30No.
09:31Because the headquarters across the street that is building the new building at 126 Main Street, 123 Main Street, is
09:46going to move a thousand people from the computer center at their current property to the new facility across the
09:59street.
09:59Once it's built.
10:02So will there be new jobs at 126 Main?
10:06Oh, sure.
10:07They'll probably need a few new security guards, a few new cleaning crew members, a few new groundskeepers, a few
10:16new whatever.
10:17But the bulk of a thousand people are going from 123 Main to 126 Main.
10:27A net creation of jobs, zero.
10:32Well, a couple dozen, again.
10:34But zero.
10:38You follow me here now, yes?
10:41But the average person isn't thinking about that.
10:46And that's why the politicians play these games.
10:50Hand over the sheet to the newsreader.
10:54Wretched Whitler claims a thousand new jobs at 126 Main Street.
11:01And that's going to be great for the state of Michigan.
11:06Well, yes, in some respects, it will be great for the state of Michigan, but it's not a thousand new
11:13taxpayers paying taxes on new salaries that they'll be getting.
11:20No, because they and their salary moved from across the street.
11:25The municipality, the county, the state may win in new property taxes at 126 Main Street if and only if
11:39Corporation XYZ wasn't given a 25-year, zero-dollar property tax break on the property.
11:53But, yes, it is good.
11:56It is a growth.
11:58There is growth going on in business, and that can create some additional other ancillary jobs.
12:06So it's a good thing.
12:08I'm not saying it's a bad thing.
12:10What I am saying is lies and lies statistics spin.
12:17The idiot in the suit on TV is just reading what's put on the teleprompter.
12:27They're not a journalist.
12:30There is more to real journalism than reporting someone's claim.
12:36So if you're going to put wretched Whittler claims a thousand new jobs at 126 Main Street, the next paragraph
12:46has to say the reality is those jobs are moving from one side of the street to the other side
12:55of the street.
12:55That is fact-based journalism.
12:59They don't do that.
13:02They just report.
13:05So, at any rate, I hope I remembered it.
13:10I had other examples, but I don't want to drag out this 12th video exclusive for April of 2026.
13:19I'm calling it, what am I calling it, jobs and fun with numbers.
13:25I'm writing that down.
13:29No, you're not stupid.
13:31No, your neighbor isn't stupid.
13:34If you knew this and they didn't know they're not stupid, they just haven't thought about it.
13:39They haven't been educated on it.
13:41They haven't researched it to educate themselves.
13:45Unfortunately, they have busy lives and they put on local channel 537, whatever, just pulling a number out of there,
13:56right?
13:56And the news talking head says a thousand new jobs, Greg.
14:03The devil is in the details.
14:05They are never going to give you.
14:10Now, you know the rest of the story and you can educate your neighbor to understanding the rest of the
14:21story.
14:22So, unemployment numbers, just ignore them.
14:27More and more jobs can be created and the unemployment number go up, as I explained at the top.
14:33What matters is the labor workforce participation rate.
14:39That stays the same.
14:41And the same with the games about, oh, affordability, the inflation rate.
14:49They only measure certain things.
14:52Other things aren't in it.
14:54So, what matters?
14:57The bushel basket rate.
15:00That has been the same since World War II.
15:05Someone, regarding grocery inflation, A, B, C, D goes into the bushel basket.
15:15Every year, the bushel, like Walmart.
15:22Pardon, excuse me.
15:24Walmart, Walmart on Thanksgiving.
15:27The cost of Thanksgiving has gone down.
15:33Yes.
15:35They lower the price on turkey and whatever as a package for you.
15:43Since last year, the cost has gone down.
15:47That's a apples to apples comparison.
15:52Listen, bushel basket is basket to basket.
15:58Grocery basket to grocery basket.
16:01If canned corn and blah, blah, blah, and a pound of ground round and whatnot are in the bushel basket
16:12rate,
16:12and it doesn't change at all.
16:16If the price overall goes up, that's a real indication of inflation, or if it goes down, that's a real
16:27indication of inflation.
16:31Versus, which you can't just throw out the inflation rate.
16:34It matters.
16:36It matters.
16:36It does.
16:37But understand the games and gimmicks being played with it.
16:42A current inflation rate in the middle to low twos is way better than the Biden years' 9% inflation
16:56rate,
16:56which, again, without certain things being factored in the real stagflation rate was in the double digits for four years.
17:09Inflation rate is way down, and that's the lies, damn lies, statistics.
17:16Inflation, there are different kinds.
17:19Supply and demand kind.
17:21Other factors.
17:23Competition factors.
17:25All kinds of things, printing of money, inflating, eroding the value of the dollar,
17:35inflating costs to go up to chase that more dollars have been created out of thin air.
17:43All these things factor into the inflation rate.
17:49So it matters, but you have to understand the devil in the details.
17:57Gas, even with the Iran conflict, has gone up, and Democrats, oh my God, look at the gas prices.
18:08Where were they for four years under Joe Biden when it was more expensive than now?
18:16Now, with a war going on, and it's temporary, they will come back down again.
18:25The price accrued, I'm looking in the corner on the TV, just happened at $94.10 a barrel for crude,
18:35down $1.77, down 1.85% today.
18:40That's just, of course, a snapshot today.
18:44It's still under $100 a barrel, which it was more over $100 a barrel, many points of Biden's administration.
18:54The cost of gas, way more than now with the conflict than during Biden, way more during Biden than now.
19:06So the left, oh my God, look at the gas.
19:09Where were you for four years?
19:11Where are you in California?
19:14Steve Hilton on the debate just the other day.
19:17The gas prices are more in California than anywhere else in the United States or territories.
19:28Why?
19:29Not because of federal policy, but because of commie-crat policy, regulations, taxes, through the roof.
19:44You want to lower price in California?
19:49Tell Groove Scum to reduce the regulations.
19:54They have more blend requirements than everywhere else.
19:59And that's another factor in gas.
20:02Seasonal blend requirements as put into law by the left.
20:08And I agree, we need seasonal blends.
20:12But as many as we do, no.
20:15Oh, that causes prices to go up at times while we're switching over from a blend to a blend.
20:24California, the most regulated state.
20:29And the distillers kicked out.
20:32The taxes threw the roof.
20:34So Groove Scum, if you left just cared about the price of gas like you want to pretend you care
20:42now,
20:42no, you could have done something for four years under Biden.
20:47You didn't.
20:48You could lower the price of gas in California overnight.
20:54You don't.
20:56You won't.
20:57But you want to complain.
21:00Gas is temporarily up.
21:02Still less than it was Biden's four years.
21:06And we'll be down again soon.
21:10See my episode on affordability.
21:14And the left lies.
21:16That's just one of them.
21:18Okay, I'm going to leave it at that.
21:20But lies, damn lies statistics.
21:23The devil is in the details.
21:25So let's get to the music.
21:27Shall we?
21:28Clickbait everywhere.
21:30And then after that, TLDR.
21:43Yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:54Flash on the screen.
21:57Red phone, big screen.
22:01Another cheap trail for an empty feed.
22:06Quote in a box.
22:09Clip from a stream.
22:12Cut out the doubts.
22:14Sell them a dream.
22:17I want more than a headline.
22:19Give me names.
22:20Give me dates.

22:42More to real journalism than just transcribing what someone claims.
22:49Need get beyond today's Twitter attention spans.
22:52Crowd in a frame.
22:54Look, they all agree.
22:57But you trimmed every word that didn't fit the name.
23:03History is a map.
23:06Not a mood today.
23:09You can't bend every road just to win the page.
23:14I want more than a headline.
23:17Give me names.
23:17Give me dates.
23:18Give me time.
23:19Tell me who.

23:24Draw the line.
23:25Between reality and the lie.
23:27Stop just typing what they claim.
23:30Hey!
23:31Ask the question.
23:32Name the game.
23:33Context cuts through the confusion.
23:37Collide through the delusion.

24:51T-T-T-L-D-R
24:55T-L-D-R
24:57Yeah.
24:58Scrolling fast.
24:59Attention gone in seconds flat.
25:01Tick-tock brain.
25:01Twitter spam.
25:02Can't handle that headline screen.
25:04But the truth is buried deep.
25:05Ten paragraphs down.
25:07Whether lazy never reach.
25:08They say T-L-D-R like it's some kind of flex.
25:10Too stupid to read.
25:12Too lazy to check.
25:13Details matter.
25:14Context matters.
25:15Facts don't lie.
25:16But you'd rather stay ignorant.
25:17Wonder why.
25:18T-L-D-R
25:19Truth long didn't read.
25:21You skip the truth and swallow this in their feet.
25:23T-L-D-R
25:25Too lazy to see.
25:26Now you're lost in delusion.
25:27But that's on you, not me.

25:34Details matter.
25:35Context matters.
25:36History too.
25:37If you gloss over it all.
25:39That's on you.
25:44I coined it myself.
25:45Twitter, TikTok, attention span.
25:47Now even I catch myself saying, damn, this is long, man.
25:50But I push through cause I know the devil's in the details.
25:52You skip them and you end up leaving all the fake headlines.
25:55I shorten chapters in my books.
25:57Cut the story link.
25:58Cause 99% won't read if it ain't short and clean.
26:00Even wrote a whole CTP episode back in December 2025.
26:05Called it D-L-D-R.
26:07And here we are still barely alive.
26:10T-L-D-R
26:11Truth long didn't read.
26:13What?

26:46But your receipt.
26:47You want the bullet points, the 15 second clip.
26:49But reality don't come in convenient little strips.
26:52Trust will verify.
26:53Reagan tried to teach.
26:54But you'd rather stay dumb than practice what you preach.
26:57This ain't hate.
26:58This is tough.
26:58Love straight.
26:59No chaser.
27:00I made this song to be the mirror, not the eraser.
27:02Even this episode, I kept short on purpose.

27:20TLDR.
27:21Too long, didn't read.
27:22You skipped the truth and swallowed every lie they feed.
27:25TLDR.
27:26Too lazy to see reality over delusion.
27:29That's the key.
27:30I ain't here just for the choir.
27:32I'm here where the hurt and the lazy hide.
27:35Details matter.
27:37Every single line.
27:38If you won't read or listen, then stay blind.
27:42Yeah.
