00:00One day, baby, one day until the first round of the NFL draft.
00:05You got it?
00:06You already know what I'm looking for here?
00:07Ah, it feels good.
00:10It's a palate cleanser of sorts.
00:11We will hear that sound in just someone like 26 hours.
00:18Well, I'll tell you in a second.
00:19I'll tell you in a second.
00:20It's going by quick.
00:2132 hours, 29 minutes, and 55 seconds.
00:24It's going by quick.
00:25So we got that coming up tomorrow.
00:28And we've been asking questions all the way leading up to the draft.
00:31And so the question that we have for today,
00:32who is the most realistic dream pick for you?
00:35713-572-416.
00:37Operative word, realistic.
00:39I think we can all say, oh, Jeremiah Love.
00:41Yeah.
00:42I don't know how realistic that is.
00:45I've got two kind of bouncing around in my head.
00:49The first one, and I could just end up looking like a fool here,
00:52and they don't even draft a receiver at all.
00:56But you know how I feel about a little uneasy about the receiving position right now
01:01with all the Tankdale news that we're getting and not getting.
01:05Makai Lemon.
01:06Okay.
01:07Makai Lemon.
01:09I think that could happen.
01:10I mean, well, I'm not saying that Texans,
01:12I think it's going to happen because I have information or anything.
01:14I'm saying, like, it's conceivable.
01:16Now, go ahead and report that.
01:17If you want to report, go ahead and report that.
01:19I think don't do it.
01:20Don't you dare do it.
01:21But I think it's.
01:24He's not reporting.
01:26Our guy has made a bold proclamation about the Texans.
01:34The way I mean by I think it could happen,
01:36I think it's conceivable that he could be there and you move up.
01:39Yeah, like a middle-of-the-round type of guy,
01:41and there's possibilities that the Texans could get up there if they so choose.
01:46Makai Lemon is very interesting because he is a dude who feels like he is in that,
01:51that current meta of sorts that's happened in the NFL
01:54where you're getting wide receivers that are slot guys in theory
01:57but can also very much play on the outside,
01:59which means especially with more and more big personnel on offense,
02:03they can play inside, outside.
02:04They don't have to come off the field.
02:05And he's effective in a lot of those ways, separating really well.
02:08Yeah, he's a very interesting one.
02:10But what's funny is I might have gone with another wide receiver
02:14if I was going to go with one, and that's probably Jordan Tyson.
02:16Now, here's the thing.
02:17And with the scuttlebutt and the lying season of it all leading up to this draft,
02:21maybe the last week or two, or no, definitely the last week,
02:24it feels like Jordan Tyson, everybody in the first round,
02:27he's like, hey, we'd love us some Jordan Tyson.
02:29Of course you would.
02:30He has the highest ceiling, it seems, of any wide receiver.
02:32The big thing, though, is the number of injuries that he's had,
02:34that scare there if he's going to be healthy.
02:37But he does seem like he could be the best wide receiver.
02:40I don't know about you.
02:41I'm in the business of if it's available to have the absolute best of it,
02:44I would probably try and get the absolute best of it.
02:47Sure, sure.
02:47And so the possibility of getting a Jordan Tyson,
02:49especially in the circumstance that you are in wide receiver land
02:52with this team where you go,
02:53there's a lot of guys that you could probably roll with,
02:55but you're seeing if you could upgrade this.
02:57If I want to upgrade this,
02:58give me the dude who has the possibility of being the biggest upgrade.
03:00What's your realistic dream scenario?
03:02You already know what it is, big dog.
03:04Sadiq?
03:04Hang on, Sadiq, baby.
03:06Because it addresses what you're getting at,
03:08but also addresses another thing for this team,
03:10which is get a dynamic playmaker,
03:12which, of course, is what you want, right?
03:13But also help that tight end position that does feel like it might be pivotal
03:17to what this offense might want to be in Nick Haley,
03:21knowing that he's a tight end coach,
03:22knowing that he has an affinity for 12 and maybe even 13 personnel.
03:26Get another guy in that room that's possible.
03:27Plus, now I feel better about not just the tight end room from this year,
03:31but somebody who leads that tight end room for years to come.
03:34So much of this draft for the Texans feels like it is,
03:37yes, addressing 2026 to some degree depth-wise,
03:40but setting up yourself for 27, 28, whether it's succession plans
03:45for some of the guys that you have in positions right now.
03:48And so that feels like that would bridge the gap of doing both of those.
03:52I would like that.
03:53But, of course, the other answer that I would like to have added
03:57comes in on the 346 on the Tex line.
04:00I just don't think that this fits in the realistic category.
04:02And that is?
04:03Venga Iohane.
04:04Yeah, they're showing him right now.
04:05Best guard in the draft class, Penn State dude.
04:08The thing that I love saying, and it's probably a cliche at this point
04:11because I say it too much, he throws dudes out the club.
04:13Like, if you just imagine going to the nightclub and seeing that bouncer,
04:17you know which bouncer, that bouncer, and just hoisting a joker out of there,
04:21that's Venga Iohane.
04:23And I'm like, if you want to be a run team, if you want a guy in the middle,
04:25if we want to answer these questions that have lingered every time
04:28that you've taken an interior offensive lineman for the last four years,
04:31that's a cat right there.
04:32Figure you got one?
04:33Yeah, so I had on my list Sadiq.
04:37But just to kind of change the conversation a little bit,
04:39I was thinking about Blake Miller.
04:41If they kind of trade up for good offensive linemen.
04:44Yeah.
04:45I think that would kind of pique my interest.
04:47You know, what I was thinking about is, I can't believe it.
04:52I've liked Caden Proctor throughout the process.
04:55I've mentioned him multiple times.
04:56I just, I like him.
04:57I know there's some questions about him.
05:00But what really strikes me, and it might not be Dream,
05:04and that's why I chose Lemon, but I think this is a possibility.
05:08Like, the Texans have a type at tackle.
05:11They like the monsters.
05:13You know, a monstrous Trent Brown.
05:17Especially right now, yeah.
05:19You know, just a guy that, you know, darkens the door when he walks through it.
05:24All right, let's be careful the way we say that.
05:25Huh?
05:26Let's be careful the way we say that.
05:28Look, I'm not accusing you of anything.
05:30I just want us to play in a safe zone here, all right?
05:33You ain't going to say that about Braden Smith.
05:35Yeah, see, you should have started with Braden Smith.
05:38They wouldn't have sounded as bad.
05:39You're like, Trent Brown, Ariel Territory, clearly.
05:41They darken the door when they come through.
05:43And the thing about Braden Smith lighting the door when he comes in.
05:45Isn't it funny, though?
05:46But it's an expression.
05:47You get what it is.
05:47No, no, 100%.
05:48No, you're right, right.
05:49They cast a shadow.
05:50Isn't it funny, though, as you were saying, that I go,
05:53damn, it's been a while since we thought about just how big Ariante Erser is.
05:56Right, right.
05:56We were commenting on that constantly during training camp,
06:00and you just got a whole bunch of big dudes in there now.
06:02It feels like he's one of a group of them now.
06:05Caden Proctor is 6'7", 350.
06:09That's Trent Brown.
06:10Yeah.
06:10That's Trent Brown.
06:12Yeah.
06:13Because Trent Brown is 6'7", 6'7", 6'6".
06:16He's 6'7", all of 350.
06:19And I'm like, that's their type.
06:21Like, we all have a type.
06:22That's their type.
06:23Do you have any – because I think with him, obviously, big dude, you love it.
06:27With him, there's a little bit more concerns about, like, the weight
06:30and how he manages it, right, the work ethic.
06:32Same thing with Trent Brown.
06:33Yeah, but you're not getting Ricky Trent Brown.
06:35You're getting better than Trent Brown where you already knew.
06:37What I'm saying is that he's their type.
06:39Sure.
06:39Yeah.
06:40Sure.
06:42But fair enough.
06:43Like, Caden Proctor has not been as exciting for me.
06:46I think the Caden Proctor was just fun because he is a dude who's athletic
06:49that they were willing to give the football.
06:50Yeah.
06:51That was fun.
06:52Some other ones that have come in here on the text line.
06:54Somebody said they don't think Jordan Tyson is making it past the Giants.
06:56That's fair.
06:57He might not be as available.
07:00Kayon Sadiq keeps popping up here.
07:02Are there any other ones?
07:03Like, it feels like the dreams are really sitting in this space of playmakers.
07:08Is that just because of the –
07:09Receiver, tight end.
07:09I mean, I guess you could – you know, one of these edge rushers.
07:12One of these edge rushers gets to 14-15.
07:15Which one of the ones are the ones that jump out for you?
07:17Well, I mean, you know, someone – obviously not Ruben Bain.
07:20You know, not those top guys.
07:22But maybe some of these others that, you know, kind of highly rank
07:26and they get – they fall down to 15-16.
07:29Maybe that's something that could happen.
07:31I don't think we've talked about Akeem Mesidor
07:33just because it feels like it's been out of the range of possibility.
07:36Do you have thoughts?
07:37And I know that you've seen him uniquely because I was at your house watching him
07:40against Texas A&M.
07:42How did you feel about Akeem Mesidor?
07:44Look, those two rush ends, Bain got all the hype.
07:49Mesidor is the one that beat the Aggies.
07:51Yes, he did.
07:52He's the one that beat the Aggies in that game.
07:55So, yeah, he would be one.
07:57Cassius Howell.
07:58We talked about Parker yesterday, the kid from Clemson.
08:01Yeah, TJ Parker is – yeah.
08:03That's an interesting one as well.
08:04Yeah, fair enough.
08:06Yeah, we'll keep thinking about this as – honestly, I have been fascinated
08:10how many different ways I keep trying to, like, narrow it down
08:13and it keeps popping back up.
08:14It's like when you're trying to submerge, like, a balloon in water
08:17and it just keeps popping back up.
08:18That's how it feels like all these things.
08:20Somebody brings up Peter Woods' interior defensive line.
08:22That's a fair point as well because we haven't talked much about those,
08:26at least in this context.
