00:04Police expect to take several hours processing crime scenes related to the
00:08killing of eight children in Shreveport, Louisiana on Sunday. According to police
00:14spokesperson Chris Bordelon, one of the crime scenes is incredibly gruesome in
00:19nature. Bordelon told reporters seven children were located inside one of the
00:23houses and an eight looked like he had tried to escape the residence out the
00:28back on the roof. Tell you that personally when you deal with with kids
00:34it is different you know we expect to see a certain amount of of violence when
00:41you enter this job but you don't expect it to be delivered upon a child. We
00:46want to thank LSP for coming in and helping because this is a this is a large
00:50operation we have three crime scenes just here in Shreveport one of them is is
00:57incredibly gruesome in nature and it's going to take several hours to process.
01:01I know some of the suspects children resided there I'm not sure if at one
01:04point in time he lived there we're working to put all of that together
01:08right now because between the house on Harrison Street and these residences here
01:13we know he had ties to both residences whether that was romantic relationships
01:17or kin we're working to put all that information together. Police said at least
01:22ten people total were shot but did not provide details on the status of surviving
01:26victims. The shooting occurred just after 6 a.m. on Sunday and is considered a
01:32domestic disturbance. Bordelon said the suspected gunman carjacked a vehicle
01:36after the shooting and died after police fired at the vehicle during a chase that
01:40went into neighboring Bossier Parish. Bordelon said the name of the suspected
01:45gunman would be released once the department has notified families of the
01:48victims.
