00:00Do you know how much true fucking crime shit I watch?
00:10You can't get away with nothing.
00:13There's cam...
00:14Jesus.
00:16There's cameras everywhere.
00:20The brutality and the level of violence
00:23is something that most people can't even begin to comprehend.
00:27If I had one word to describe the events surrounding his death,
00:33it would be callous.
00:35It was almost soulless.
00:38This is some...
00:41Do it there.
00:44Over some girl?
00:46Mm-hmm.
00:47To some boy?
00:49Like, I know, you know, fighting him, beating him up or something,
00:52a classic high school, you know, boy-boy,
00:55I messed with your girl, you messed with my girl type fight thing,
00:58but I didn't know it would be like the actual murder.
01:00Well, you know, I saw the method I put.
01:03So, yeah, I'll help.
01:04I didn't think it would be actual murder.
01:30What's going on?
01:31My son has been missing since Sunday,
01:34and I put out a missing report.
01:37It is every parent's worst nightmare.
01:41And for Magellan Emile, it is visceral.
01:44Her 18-year-old son, Dwight Grant, is missing.
01:47And each second that he is not standing with her
01:51feels like an eternity.
01:54Okay, I'm going to, uh,
01:56I'm on my way to the office right now, okay?
01:59Okay, ma'am.
02:01So officers interview friends and neighbors of Dwight Grant
02:03to find out where he might have gone.
02:05He's a good kid?
02:06He doesn't disappear.
02:07He's a good kid.
02:08He doesn't drink.
02:08He doesn't smoke.
02:09He goes out.
02:10He has a plan.
02:11He goes out with his friends.
02:12He calls literally all of us all the time
02:14to let us know, like, it's up, how you are.
02:17Okay. All right.
02:18He goes to me in the morning at night,
02:19make sure I'm okay.
02:21Dwight Grant lived in Miramar
02:23with his mom, Magellan Emile,
02:25and he split time with his dad, Dwight Grant Sr.
02:29Dwight Grant is a high school student.
02:32He's a great student.
02:34And there's no reason why he would just suddenly up and vanish.
02:38That's a kid?
02:39Yes.
02:40She's been put in flowers.
02:42And the mother told me that she's been looking for her
02:45on a Monday.
02:46She went to hospitals, too, and he's not there.
02:50Miss Emile takes it into her own hands
02:53and starts trying to do everything she can
02:55to figure out where her son is.
02:57Because he was 18, there was no kind of Amber Alert,
03:00but he was reported missing as an adult,
03:02and his family began printing up flyers with his picture on it
03:06and doing the hard work of trying to discover
03:09what had become of him.
03:11They go out searching far and wide for him,
03:14but they can't find him anywhere.
03:16She went to the Miramar High School,
03:18tried to find information there.
03:20She went to the Miramar Police Department
03:21and made a report.
03:23Now, before police became involved,
03:26Dwight's mother is essentially investigating
03:28her own son's disappearance,
03:30and she discovers something that is chilling.
03:42Miss Emile, she was able to access with staff
03:46from the community the video footage
03:48that covered the outside area
03:51that was just to the east of her apartment
03:54and the stairwell.
03:55She described seeing two individuals,
03:58she thought they were men,
03:59fighting with her son.
04:02I cannot even begin to fathom the pain
04:06that the mother felt at that moment
04:09where she visually bore witness
04:12to this recording of her son being attacked.
04:15There's a certain amount of hopelessness that sets in,
04:18but there's also something else that's very key here
04:21that occurs with families.
04:22There's a certain level of anger.
04:25Have you ever seen her son around?
04:27No, they're good people.
04:29Like, you know, you only see the bad ones,
04:30you know what I mean?
04:31Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:31The tenants that give you trouble
04:33are the ones that you know.
04:34That you know, okay.
04:35So these are just people that don't bother anybody.
04:38So this is where they live.
04:40A Miramar police officer reviews the surveillance footage
04:43that Dwight's mother saw
04:44and begins a foot search for any sign of Dwight.
04:48Officer De Maso Espirito Santo goes to the location.
04:52They don't watch the entire video at that point,
04:54but they go to this stairwell.
04:55At the stairwell, they start to see signs
04:58of something has happened.
05:01There's a lot of blood over there.
05:04Okay.
05:05There's blood everywhere.
05:09When that police officer walks into that stairwell,
05:12there's a tremendous amount
05:14of dynamic blood deposition everywhere.
05:17You can tell that some level of violence
05:20has taken place here.
05:21There's blood that's been cleaned up, but poorly.
05:25There's broken bushes.
05:26There are questions as to what's happened
05:29at this location.
05:31Oh, my goodness.
05:39The officers start establishing a crime scene.
05:42The one piece that's missing is still this child.
05:47The child is not there.
05:48The child is somewhere else.
05:50This is initially going to be your primary scene, okay,
05:53because you know that something probably criminal
05:56in nature has taken place here,
05:57and then from there,
05:58you kind of eccentrically go out in your search.
06:01Hold on.
06:02You want me to get on and call for rescue?
06:05All right.
06:07Get up there, man.
06:10Hey, uh, fuck.
06:12Okay, we're going to have to make sure.
06:13Oh, my God.
06:14They start putting up the crime scene tape,
06:17and they aren't expecting to see the body,
06:20and they almost stumble across it
06:22because it was hidden behind some bushes
06:24just steps away from Dwight's mother's front door.
06:28Oh, my God.
06:30This almost looks like a classic,
06:32what we refer to as a dumping.
06:33When they actually lifted his sweater,
06:37they noticed that he had
06:39what appeared to be a stab wound to his chest,
06:42and further examination revealed
06:44that he had even a larger injury to his neck
06:48that was consistent with an edged weapon as well.
06:52The three main injuries,
06:55there are three stab wounds.
06:56There's one to the back right of the neck,
06:59one to the torso,
07:00and one to the abdomen.
07:03Just as law enforcement discovers
07:05the body of a young male,
07:06Dwight's family members start coming out
07:08of their apartment.
07:10Can you go back inside for me, please?
07:12Please.
07:13Just give us a few minutes,
07:14and we'll come in and talk to you.
07:16Just go back inside.
07:18Can you go back inside, please?
07:20Don't...
07:21Just do as I ask, please.
07:23In a few minutes, an officer will come talk.
07:26Can you go back inside?
07:32As a mother myself,
07:34I found it torturous to watch
07:36and listen to the body cam footage
07:38of DJ's mother,
07:40not finding out that he was deceased,
07:42but that a body has been found.
07:44It was so close to the apartment complex
07:47that she must have known
07:50in that moment
07:52what was awaiting her.
07:55Can you guys just stay inside for me, please?
07:58Just let us do the investigation.
08:00The police, I think,
08:03are fairly short with her
08:05because all they know here
08:07is that they have a crime scene.
08:09Their allegiance is to the decedent here.
08:12They want justice for him.
08:14You need to be in the moment
08:15that is an undermanned scene.
08:18You need to get the rest
08:19of the police department there.
08:20You need to cut everything off.
08:21You need to get up the tape.
08:22You need to start a crime scene log.
08:24This is a crime scene now,
08:26so we need you to go back inside, okay?
08:29It's important that you confirm the ID, though,
08:31because who's to say
08:33it couldn't be somebody else?
08:34And so for the investigators,
08:36they have to make sure
08:38that this body is, in fact, DJ.
08:42There's no identification
08:43of the body at that point.
08:45They have a strong suspicion
08:47that it's Dwight Grant.
08:49It seems and appears to look like him,
08:51but it's not until
08:53the medical examiner's office responds
08:54and they take a photo of the body
08:56and they show it to Dwight Grant Sr.,
08:59who's able to positively identify
09:00that as his son.
09:02Didn't I see him?
09:04No, no, no, no.
09:07No.
09:08I see blood here
09:09when I came home.
09:11Oh, my God.
09:12Can you guys go back
09:14in your apartments for me, please?
09:16Oh, my God.
09:17The medical examiner determined
09:19multiple sharp force
09:21and blunt force injuries
09:22as the cause of death
09:24and the manner as homicide.
09:26It was absolutely apparent
09:28that DJ had bled out
09:30from those wounds.
09:31Those wounds were the cause of death.
09:33This was a homicide.
09:35There's also some blunt force injuries
09:38that are consistent
09:39that Dwight was fighting for his life.
09:43By all accounts,
09:44Dwight, who also goes by Dante,
09:46is a fun-loving and sweet guy.
09:47Who could have had the motive
09:49to want to kill him?
09:51Good morning, Miramar.
09:52Dante Felix here,
09:53and I'll be introducing you
09:54to the very wonders of Miramar High,
09:56all the things that make it enticing,
09:59interesting, and all around,
10:00just a fun place to be around.
10:01Dwight was a sweet, funny, young kid.
10:07He had just turned 18
10:08in September of 2021.
10:11He enjoyed Roblox video games.
10:14He loved anything to do with computers.
10:16Everybody that met Dwight
10:18was changed for the positive by him.
10:21He was described as kind, funny,
10:23always nice to be around.
10:24He never caused trouble.
10:26Come when you get lost, baby.
10:28Dwight's body provides investigators
10:31with some clues.
10:32The stab wounds make one thing very clear.
10:35This was personal.
10:38Let's just talk about beating in and of itself,
10:41particularly when you're talking about
10:42striking somebody over and over
10:44and over and over again.
10:46That's flesh-on-flesh contact,
10:48and that's the most intimate
10:50that it can possibly be.
10:51You couple that with what I believe
10:54is probably the most violent way to die
10:56as far as a homicide goes,
10:58and that is sharp force injuries,
11:01because it is incumbent upon the person
11:03that's wielding the blade
11:05to drive this blade into the body.
11:09What investigators have to do now
11:11is go back and talk to anybody
11:13within Dwight's intimate circle.
11:16The big question has to be asked,
11:18who hates Dwight this much?
11:20Nobody noticed all that blood under the stairs?
11:23How it is right now?
11:24Yeah.
11:25Yeah, I just know.
11:26So at this point,
11:28law enforcement is trying to recover
11:30and preserve any evidence that is there,
11:33DNA, fingerprints, shoe prints,
11:36and find any witnesses
11:37that might have any information.
11:39We are now two days
11:40post the incident occurring,
11:42so law enforcement has to make sure
11:44they are taking all steps
11:46as quickly as possible
11:48to preserve any digital evidence,
11:50any other video or surveillance.
11:52We know one angle of the attack
11:54on Dwight already exists,
11:56but investigators have to gather
11:58all of the surveillance footage
11:59from the apartment complex
12:01from the day that Dwight was murdered.
12:03The surveillance footage shows,
12:06first, a female
12:08not wearing any sort of masks
12:10or anything to disguise herself,
12:12and she has two very distinct blonde locks
12:16who then meets with Dwight
12:19and goes into the staircase
12:20just outside of his apartment.
12:24Then there's also two other individuals
12:26that are masked,
12:27covered from head to toe,
12:29that are waiting in the stairwell.
12:32Those individuals
12:34actually pulled Dwight back
12:36into the stairwell
12:37when he almost ran and got away.
12:40Then you see those two individuals
12:43coming in and out of the stairwell
12:45for the next about 20 to 30 minutes,
12:47and you see the blonde individual
12:50acting as a lookout.
12:51And then eventually,
12:53the surveillance footage shows
12:55Dwight's body being carried out,
12:57dumped over the railing,
12:59and then dragged out of camera view.
13:01At this point in time,
13:03the police understand
13:04that not only do they have
13:05a spot of violence,
13:07they've got three
13:09unknown potential perpetrators,
13:11all dressed in black,
13:12that have kind of vanished
13:13into the ether.
13:15The first thread
13:16that you want to pull
13:16in the investigation
13:17is who is this mystery woman?
13:20Because when Dwight
13:21enters the stairwell,
13:22he's literally giving this individual
13:25a piggyback ride.
13:26It infers intimacy, doesn't it?
13:29So upon further examination,
13:32this young lady
13:33has a blonde streak
13:35in her otherwise
13:36very dark black hair,
13:37and that kind of makes her stand out.
13:44Dwight's mother tells investigators
13:46everything she knows,
13:47and that includes
13:48one detail from the surveillance footage
13:51that she picked up on.
13:52I saw two people hurting my son,
13:56and there's a girl
13:56that went to his school.
13:58She was the last person
13:59who saw him,
14:01and she was there too.
14:04Ms. Emile went
14:05on her cell phone carrier
14:07because Dwight's phone was missing,
14:09and so she starts looking
14:11at every phone number
14:12that has contacted him
14:13right before he goes missing.
14:15From that,
14:16she gets a hold
14:17of Christy Parisian,
14:18and she actually speaks to her
14:20and finds out
14:21that that's the last person
14:22that saw Dwight.
14:24Christy was a good student.
14:25She was in
14:26an Imperial Fashion Club.
14:27Once Christy is identified,
14:30law enforcement first goes
14:31and makes contact with her
14:33to see what they can find out,
14:35what she knew,
14:36if she knew the two individuals
14:37that are on scene.
14:39As detectives go
14:40and interview Christy Parisian
14:41at the police station,
14:42other detectives go
14:43and interview Christy's mother.
14:46Miramar Police Department.
14:48How you doing, ma'am?
14:49I'm waiting for my sister
14:51to go over there.
14:52What happened?
14:53Do you mind talking to us?
14:54I have Detective Woods here.
14:56Hello.
14:56Hi, how you doing?
14:57When the police show up
14:59at Christy's home,
15:00you can tell
15:02that she doesn't know
15:03what's going on,
15:04and she's trying
15:06literally to leave
15:07the apartment
15:07to go to the police station.
15:10What happened?
15:11I just want to speak to you
15:12over here for a second.
15:14Oh, no.
15:15So, right now
15:17there's an investigation
15:18and I guess
15:19it's your daughter?
15:20Yeah, that's my daughter.
15:21Your daughter,
15:22her name came up.
15:23So,
15:25what we're going to have
15:25to do is
15:26we're going to have
15:27to keep you
15:27out of the house
15:28for now.
15:28Me?
15:29Yes.
15:32Nothing has to do
15:33with you
15:34personally,
15:35but we have to
15:36keep everybody
15:37out of the apartment.
15:39There's nobody else
15:39inside right now?
15:40No.
15:41Okay.
15:42So,
15:42we have detectives
15:43that are going
15:44to get a search warrant.
15:46They're waiting
15:47for a warrant
15:47because they know
15:48that Chrissy's involved
15:49at this point in time.
15:50Now,
15:50they do allow her
15:51to retrieve her phone.
15:56What did she tell you?
15:57Let me, let me,
15:58let me tell you.
15:59She have a place, ma'am.
16:00Yeah, and then let me
16:00have a number to call.
16:02Call, call me.
16:03I'm seeing you.
16:06I'm taking this
16:07to the police station
16:08to make my phone statement.
16:09Copy that phone.
16:11And I will have my phone
16:12because they simply go.
16:13So,
16:14Christy wants
16:15to let her mother
16:17know where she is
16:18and what's going on.
16:19So,
16:20she leaves a very
16:20flippant message
16:22to her mother
16:23saying she's going
16:24to be at the police station.
16:26There is something
16:27that is so chillingly
16:29nonchalant
16:30about the way
16:31that she states
16:33what is occurring
16:34to her.
16:35The tone of her voice
16:37is just shocking.
16:38You would think
16:38that a homicide occurring
16:39is a salient event
16:41in a young adult's life.
16:42And for her,
16:44it was a Tuesday.
16:46Now,
16:46at the Miramar Police Department,
16:48investigators are questioning
16:4917-year-old
16:50Christy Parisian
16:51about the day
16:52that Dwight Grant
16:53was murdered.
16:54And one thing
16:54to keep in mind
16:55is she refers to him
16:57by his nickname,
16:58Dante.
16:59If you can just,
17:00I guess,
17:00fill me in
17:01so I know.
17:02So, basically,
17:03I went over there
17:04to Dante's house.
17:05I met two guys,
17:06you know,
17:07the boys,
17:07cat called girls,
17:08Ayo,
17:09Ayo Ma.
17:10I was like,
17:10hello, hi.
17:11He asked my name,
17:12and he said,
17:13and they did,
17:14um,
17:14they said their name,
17:15he said,
17:15Ryan,
17:16blah, blah, blah.
17:17So, you met
17:17these two guys
17:18as you were walking
17:19from your house
17:20to Dwight's house?
17:22They were like,
17:22Ayo Ma.
17:23I'm like,
17:23who the fuck is calling
17:24my name?
17:25I'm a mom.
17:26I'm like,
17:28a boyfriend,
17:29please,
17:29I'm gonna cheat
17:30and I'm still.
17:31Who is your boyfriend?
17:32Andre.
17:32Oh, okay.
17:33It's at that moment
17:35in time,
17:35a name surfaces.
17:37The name Andre Clements
17:38comes up
17:38for the very first time.
17:40Police knew
17:41at that moment
17:42that that's somebody
17:43that they needed
17:44to speak with.
17:45Christy describes
17:46Andre Clements
17:47as her boyfriend
17:48that she's trying
17:49to make jealous.
17:50Andre Clements
17:51was one of
17:53the drum majors
17:54at the Miramar High
17:55Band
17:56and he played
17:57the trombone.
17:58He was described
17:58as a gifted musician.
18:01He had a lot of friends,
18:03was very popular,
18:04had a lot of girlfriends
18:05as well.
18:06You had already
18:07made up your mind
18:08that you were gonna
18:08cheat on Andre.
18:10You were meeting
18:10with Dwight
18:11to hook up with him?
18:13I hooked up
18:13and cheated on my wife
18:14because I found
18:15like he cheated on me.
18:16Who did he cheat on you
18:17with?
18:17Somebody from school?
18:18I really can hope not.
18:20Oh, you don't even know
18:21who he cheated?
18:21I found out he was
18:22cheating on someone
18:23because I put his message
18:24as if I was being
18:25his stupid girlfriend
18:26and I had my joke.
18:27Sorry.
18:29Please.
18:30We've all been there.
18:32I'm gonna sound like
18:33a really pissed off
18:33girlfriend right now.
18:34I don't mind.
18:34I'm fine.
18:35Don't worry about it.
18:35Who the fuck
18:36is this bitch?
18:37Christy says
18:38that she's going over
18:39to see Dwight
18:40because she's upset
18:41at her boyfriend,
18:42Andre Clements,
18:43who has cheated on her,
18:44and so she is going
18:46to cheat on him
18:47to get back at Andre.
18:48Could you, like,
18:51describe them?
18:52They were wearing
18:53black mask
18:54and they were wearing
18:54hoodie.
18:55Christy Parisian
18:57tells detectives
18:58that she met
18:59these two African-American
19:01men as she was
19:02walking over
19:03to Dwight's house.
19:04There was two guys
19:05where they
19:05tall and short.
19:07So I would say
19:08around 18, 19
19:09were the puberty guys.
19:11Nobody you recognize,
19:12like, from school?
19:13Okay.
19:15Ever seen them before?
19:16Um, no.
19:17Um, they came
19:19downstairs and they said,
19:21um, you fucked my girl,
19:23blah, blah, blah.
19:24Who the fuck is you?
19:26They said that
19:26to Dwight?
19:28And who were they
19:29saying it's their girl?
19:30They just said words.
19:33I don't know.
19:33So then they were
19:34arguing and then
19:35what happened?
19:36They were arguing,
19:37um, to fuck my girl,
19:40blah, blah.
19:41He shot it away
19:42and then they grabbed him,
19:44um, he started to do
19:45his ass,
19:45started to talk.
19:46At that point,
19:46my back was going to turn
19:48completely away
19:49because I did not want
19:49to hear anything,
19:50not want to see anything,
19:51did not want to be
19:52a complete witness
19:53of the entire thing.
19:55Christy says
19:56that they start
19:57getting into a fight
19:58with Dwight
19:58and that she just
19:59turns around
20:00and doesn't look.
20:01What were you doing
20:02the whole, like,
20:0215, 20 minutes?
20:04Standing right there
20:06with my back turned
20:07and not wanting
20:08to see anything
20:09that's going on.
20:10But you could hear
20:11the, the...
20:12I could hear the movements,
20:13I could hear the pow,
20:14pow, pow.
20:14And I was like,
20:14no.
20:15I turned back
20:16once in a while
20:16and I said,
20:17stop,
20:17they didn't stop
20:18telling me to shut up.
20:19Then Christy reveals
20:20something even more
20:22baffling to investigators.
20:24I gave him the knife.
20:26What knife?
20:27I gave him the knife.
20:28There what?
20:28Oh, come on, girl,
20:29why are you holding back
20:30on me?
20:30I gave him the knife.
20:31But why didn't you
20:32tell us that before?
20:33Because I was scared.
20:34I'm sorry.
20:48To call that an unbelievable
20:50statement is not
20:52to do it justice.
20:53You would have to believe
20:54that she's making out
20:55with somebody.
20:56They're attacked
20:56by people in all black.
20:59He's stabbed.
21:00He's bleeding.
21:01He's on the ground.
21:02But instead of calling
21:03for help,
21:03she said,
21:04here's your knife.
21:05It defies all comprehension
21:07that you would hand
21:08somebody who has just
21:09murdered somebody
21:10you were making out with.
21:11Oh, here.
21:12Here's your knife.
21:14That's a big tell here
21:15for the investigators.
21:16They know that she's
21:17not fleeing,
21:18even though I think
21:18any rational person
21:20that had witnessed
21:21the level of violence
21:22that would have been
21:23witnessed on that stairwell
21:24would have tried
21:25to create as much
21:26distance between
21:27themselves and
21:28these perpetrators
21:29as possible.
21:30That ain't what happened
21:31in this case.
21:32Christy, come on, man.
21:34Stop lying.
21:34Stop lying.
21:35That's it.
21:36Like, honestly,
21:37like you're going
21:37around in circles
21:38and you're saying
21:39one thing and saying
21:40the other,
21:40and you keep going
21:41back and forth.
21:42I'm here to kind of
21:44help you and all that,
21:46but you sound like my son
21:47when he's telling me
21:49a story.
21:50She makes up
21:51these two individuals
21:52and she says
21:54she thinks they live
21:55at Building B
21:55in the same apartment
21:57complex that she lived in.
21:58And what Ms. Parisian
22:00didn't know
22:01is Detective Interian
22:02was a participant
22:03in the Officer Next Door
22:04program.
22:05So at the time
22:06of this incident,
22:07Detective Interian
22:08lived in Building B
22:09and so he knew
22:10there were no such
22:11individuals that fit
22:13that description
22:13that lived in his building.
22:16When pressed further
22:17by the detectives,
22:19Christy says that
22:20after this incident
22:21with the two hooded figures,
22:23she meets up
22:24with two friends
22:25that she just
22:25happened to run into
22:27and they walk out
22:29of the apartment
22:29complex together.
22:31On the way back,
22:32you came with
22:32Andre and Jaslyn
22:35and you guys
22:36went to your apartment
22:36first or you guys
22:37went to Jaslyn's?
22:38Jaslyn's apartment first
22:39and then we'll get
22:39something and then
22:40he went outside
22:41and then he went
22:42and burned on clothes
22:43so they burned
22:43on clothes by the lake.
22:46Jaslyn Smith comes up
22:47because Christy Parisian
22:49gives her name as well.
22:50So Jaslyn's
22:51a little bit younger
22:52than Andre and Christy.
22:54She's 16 at the time.
22:57Jaslyn is also
22:58in the marching band
22:59at Miramar.
23:01She is close with Andre.
23:04She sees him
23:04as a brother,
23:06a mentor,
23:07someone that she
23:08can learn from.
23:10Burned old clothes
23:12by the lake.
23:13Why did they,
23:14what clothes did they burn?
23:16Baby clothes.
23:17Baby clothes?
23:18Why would they burn it?
23:19They're like,
23:19don't try to make me feel
23:20bad, you look sad.
23:21I don't know,
23:22marshmallow, so.
23:23It continues on
23:25with, she was depressed
23:26about this murder
23:26and the other two
23:28decided to give her
23:29a bonfire to cheer her up.
23:31At this point,
23:32law enforcement
23:33is already aware
23:34that Christy,
23:35Andre Clements,
23:37and Jaslyn Smith
23:37were together
23:38the evening of the homicide
23:40because there's
23:41the report
23:42that was called
23:43into security
23:43about a bonfire
23:44where they were
23:45lighting things on fire
23:47behind Jaslyn Smith's
23:48apartment.
23:49The two girls,
23:51they were just
23:51standing there
23:52but they weren't
23:53moving much.
23:54The chubby girl,
23:55she was just like
23:56moving back and forth
23:58but like standing
23:59in the same spot
24:00but moving a little bit.
24:01And then the guy
24:03was moving around
24:04the fire
24:05just throwing
24:06more gasoline.
24:08So detectives
24:09questioned Christy
24:10further about
24:11this bonfire.
24:13Whose clothes
24:13did they burn?
24:15It was their clothes.
24:17Andre's and Jaslyn's?
24:19Okay.
24:20So Andre,
24:22did he have
24:22the clothes with him?
24:24No.
24:25It was his own clothes,
24:26the clothes he was wearing?
24:27Mm-hmm.
24:28Okay, so he took off it
24:29and what did he put on?
24:29Was he just naked
24:30then?
24:31No, he had a separate pair.
24:32He had a separate pair of clothes?
24:34Okay.
24:35So he took off his clothes
24:36and he burned it
24:37by the lake.
24:37Yeah, they said
24:38about them fighting
24:39somewhere,
24:39like having a rug pouching.
24:42Christy Parisian
24:42is confronted
24:44with some of
24:44the surveillance footage
24:45and she identifies
24:46herself in that footage.
24:48However,
24:49she still denies
24:50that the individuals
24:51that are pictured
24:52alongside of her
24:52are Andre Clements
24:54and Jaslyn Smith.
24:55She goes so far
24:56in the interview
24:57as to say things like,
24:59I asked Andre
25:00and Jaslyn
25:01if they had anything
25:02to do with it
25:02and she says
25:03they had nothing.
25:05We went back
25:06to the lake
25:06to make sure
25:06everything was going
25:07to disperse
25:08and Andre's
25:09taken by his chain.
25:11The chain
25:11literally looks like
25:13mine,
25:14like this,
25:15but it's like
25:15gone.
25:16Okay.
25:18But the same charm?
25:20Same charm
25:20but gold and bigger.
25:22Much, much bigger.
25:23I like bigger
25:23but I don't like that.
25:25Okay.
25:27He bought it
25:27for us.
25:27He first spoke
25:28an hour every day.
25:30Investigators
25:31in the interview,
25:31but before Christy
25:33can leave,
25:33they ask if they
25:34can look at her phone.
25:35Just open,
25:37scroll,
25:37look,
25:37and then give it back to me.
25:39You don't mind
25:39signing a paper
25:40saying you give us
25:41permission
25:41to look through your phone?
25:43Messages?
25:44Not through my camera roll.
25:45Not through my...
25:46Oh, Lord.
25:48Not through my Instagram.
25:49Don't go too far
25:50to me with my boyfriend's messages.
25:52We're teenagers.
25:52Remember that?
25:53Your boyfriend who?
25:53Andre?
25:54Yes.
25:55Don't go too far
25:55to those
25:55for the fact that...
25:56Oh, my God.
25:57Send things!
25:58You know you're not
25:58supposed to be sending
25:59stuff,
26:00editing...
26:01No, we're not.
26:01No!
26:02You're...
26:02You're killing it.
26:0317?
26:04You're still a juvenile.
26:06Even if you send
26:07it of yourself,
26:09Christy gives them
26:10her passcode
26:11to her phone
26:12and allows law enforcement
26:13to do a forensic download
26:15of all the data
26:17on her phone.
26:18It's borne out
26:19that she's not necessarily
26:20as innocent
26:21as she may have let on
26:22because they start
26:23to search her text messages
26:25and they find
26:26a text message
26:27that she received
26:28from her boyfriend,
26:29Andre,
26:30that said,
26:31murder is going
26:32to happen soon.
26:38Now, the big question
26:40for investigators,
26:41are these text messages
26:42just loose talk
26:44among teenagers
26:44or are they evidence
26:46of premeditation?
26:47There's a lot of text messages
26:50between Andre and Christy
26:52that kind of make you
26:53raise your eyebrows.
26:54For example,
26:55they talk about
26:56Bonnie and Clyde syndrome,
26:58someone who is romantically
27:00interested in someone
27:01who commits murder.
27:02They talk about
27:03stabbing people to death
27:05weeks before
27:06this homicide occurs.
27:08At one point,
27:09Christy writes a comment
27:11about what color
27:12she's going to get
27:12for a pedicure
27:13so that it will be red
27:15to match the blood
27:16when they stab someone
27:17to death.
27:18Now, while the texts
27:20speak to premeditation,
27:21investigators still don't know
27:22exactly what happened
27:23on the day
27:24that Dwight was murdered.
27:25So they turn their attention
27:27to 16-year-old
27:28Jaslyn Smith,
27:29the friend
27:29that was with Christy
27:31and Andre
27:32at the bonfire
27:34where they burn
27:34their clothes.
27:36When law enforcement
27:37goes out
27:38and makes contact
27:39with Jaslyn Smith,
27:40she's home.
27:41She's with both
27:42of her parents
27:42and she speaks
27:44to law enforcement
27:45on her front porch
27:46with her mother.
27:47Jaslyn's father
27:48is bedridden
27:48and unable
27:49to leave the apartment.
27:51Andre told me
27:53that somebody
27:54had pissed them off
27:55and somebody
27:56was messing
27:56with somebody else's girl
27:58or something.
27:59It had to be
27:59with somebody
28:00to check.
28:00and that he
28:02was upset
28:02and that he needed
28:03to back up
28:04for a fight.
28:05Told me it was
28:06just a fight.
28:09Eventually,
28:09it starts coming out
28:10that Andre
28:11had an ex-girlfriend
28:12and that this ex-girlfriend
28:15had somehow
28:16hooked up with DJ
28:17and that Andre
28:19needed to do something
28:20to DJ about it.
28:22He told me
28:22to dress up
28:23in all black
28:24and follow him.
28:26Andre?
28:26Yes.
28:27Okay.
28:27I wore blue red
28:28and everything
28:30and walked up
28:31the stairway
28:33and Chrissy
28:34was there.
28:36Chrissy
28:36had reduced him
28:38to what I know
28:38and Andre
28:40told me
28:40to follow him
28:41down the stairs,
28:42stay here
28:43and just
28:43intimidate him,
28:44just scare him.
28:46And then
28:46we're
28:47rushing down the stairs
28:49because
28:50he got scared
28:51and Andre
28:52said grab him
28:53and we're both
28:54chugging him
28:54into the corner
28:55of the stairway.
28:56We pushed him in
28:57and we were fighting.
29:00Jazaline Smith
29:01tells law enforcement
29:02she doesn't think
29:04that any murder
29:05is going to happen.
29:07Jazaline is told
29:08that they are going
29:09to have a complete
29:10change of clothes
29:11and then be prepared
29:13to get rid of
29:14all of the clothes
29:15that they used
29:16and burn them after.
29:18Andre was talking
29:19to him
29:20and I was just standing.
29:21he said
29:23this was a fight
29:23and then
29:24when pulled out
29:25there was a weapon.
29:28I was told
29:29to hold it.
29:30Jazaline
29:31thinks that
29:32any weapons
29:33that are brought
29:33are just there
29:34for intimidation.
29:35She doesn't think
29:36anyone
29:36is actually
29:38going to get hurt.
29:40Andre took the weapon
29:41and they were
29:42tussling
29:42so we opened up
29:44and he
29:50he hurt.
29:51I tried.
29:53He hurt him.
29:54He hurt him
29:55very badly.
29:57And then he told
29:58you to help him
30:00move him.
30:03Jazaline.
30:05What did you have to move?
30:07Jaz.
30:09Jazaline's mom
30:10is so upset
30:11by what she's hearing
30:12right now
30:12that she stands up
30:14and walks away
30:15but almost immediately
30:16she comes back
30:16and lays into her
30:18like only a mom could.
30:20Do you know
30:21how much
30:21true fucking
30:23crying shit
30:24I watch?
30:25You can't get away
30:26with nothing!
30:27There's ca-
30:30Jesus.
30:31There's cameras
30:32every fucking
30:34where.
30:35She's not wrong
30:36because in this
30:38particular case
30:38they actually
30:40have videography
30:41of her daughter
30:42along with
30:44this perpetrator
30:46Andre
30:47and along
30:48with
30:48Christy
30:49emerging
30:51from that stairwell
30:52on videotape
30:53they can place
30:54them there
30:54at that specific
30:55location
30:56when Dwight's
30:57life was taken.
30:58This is some
31:00stupid shit.
31:02stupid
31:03deal
31:05over some
31:06girl
31:09some
31:10boy
31:11What adds
31:12even more
31:13senselessness
31:13to this murder
31:14is that
31:15all of this
31:15violence
31:16appears to be
31:17over an
31:17ex-girlfriend
31:18of Andre's
31:18not even over
31:19his current
31:20girlfriend
31:20Christy Parisian.
31:23Jazzy
31:23but I
31:24would this
31:25stop
31:27no no
31:28I need
31:29for you
31:29to keep
31:29talking
31:30and it
31:30stopped
31:31and it
31:31was over
31:32and everything
31:33stopped
31:33I was trying
31:34to pretend
31:35and forget
31:36that it
31:37didn't happen
31:37I already
31:38knew
31:38that if
31:39something like
31:40this was
31:40gonna happen
31:41I already
31:41knew the cops
31:42were gonna
31:42show up
31:43sooner or
31:43later
31:43and I
31:44already
31:44started
31:45preparing
31:45myself
31:46for the worst
31:46mom
31:48if they
31:49sent me
31:49away
31:50mom
31:58because
31:58by everything
31:59I've already
32:00said
32:00I'm an
32:00accomplishment
32:01and I
32:01know
32:02that
32:02I'm
32:02sorry
32:19Jaslyn Smith
32:20is then interviewed
32:21by detectives
32:22in the back
32:22of the squad car
32:23with her mother
32:23present
32:24I'd like
32:25for you
32:25to kind of
32:26tell me
32:26step by step
32:28on how
32:29everything
32:29occurred
32:30we had
32:31walked up the stairs
32:32we had walked
32:33through the front
32:34gates of the complex
32:35and immediately
32:36when we got in there
32:37we had
32:38walked over to
32:39where
32:39the stairwell was
32:41while he was telling me
32:42to move this way
32:44to avoid a camera
32:45and to avoid being seen
32:46and then he got a signal
32:48from Chrissy
32:49to walk downstairs
32:52we walked downstairs
32:53and he had
32:54a weapon
32:55with him
32:56he told me
32:57to hold the weapon
32:58he had approached
33:01the boy
33:03and Chrissy
33:03had moved back
33:04and walked down
33:05the stairs
33:06and who was the first
33:08one to say something
33:09to the boy
33:09Andre
33:10Andre
33:11and do you remember
33:11exactly what it was
33:12that he said
33:14no but I do remember
33:15him saying
33:17I'm pretty sure
33:18you know
33:18I'm here
33:19and exactly
33:20who I am
33:21so we're not
33:22going to sit here
33:23and pretend
33:23that you don't know
33:25any reason why
33:26I would be here
33:27or who I am
33:28okay
33:28what did the boy
33:29say anything back on
33:30he said
33:31you
33:33hear Andre
33:34his voice
33:35and then Andre
33:36had also taken off
33:37his mask
33:37the boy tried
33:39to make a run
33:39for it
33:40I ran
33:41and I helped Andre
33:42to tackle him
33:44and put him
33:44onto the ground
33:46we're just holding
33:47him down
33:47I'm telling him
33:48to calm down
33:49we just want to talk
33:50had him into a corner
33:52Chrissy came back down
33:53with the weapon
33:55and gave it back to me
33:57and I'm just standing there
33:58holding it
33:59using it as a phone
34:00of intimidation
34:02Andre is talking to him
34:04saying everything
34:04he has to get off
34:05of his chest
34:06and saying how mad he is
34:07and then he proceeds
34:08to say
34:10you know what I have to do
34:11right
34:12that I have to
34:14hurt you
34:14like I have to get you
34:16back for what you did
34:18and the boy is
34:20like you don't have
34:21to do this
34:21I won't bother you
34:23I won't say nothing
34:23I haven't seen you guys
34:25I won't say anything
34:27nothing
34:28DJ
34:29I
34:31for all intents and purposes
34:32pleads for his life
34:34says you don't need
34:35to do this
34:36there's an out there
34:37this is classic
34:39premeditation
34:39because they went there
34:41with the instruments
34:42to commit the crime
34:43and then there was a pause
34:45before committing the crime
34:47he was just standing there
34:49and he was explaining
34:49why he was mad
34:50and the boy tried to run
34:52again so Andre punched him
34:54and he had him
34:55right there
34:56right where he wanted him
34:58and then Andre had
34:59continued his little rant
35:01or his speech
35:02of what he was giving
35:03the boy
35:05and then explained
35:06to the boy
35:07that he was going to
35:11kill him
35:13Jazlyn lays out
35:15what happens
35:15to Dwight Grant
35:16very matter-of-factly
35:18she doesn't seem
35:19to show any emotion
35:20or have any remorse
35:23for what's happened
35:24at this point
35:25Andre
35:27asked for the weapon
35:30after explaining to him
35:32that he was going
35:33to kill the other boy
35:34I just handed it to him
35:37and I was like
35:39I don't know about this
35:40but I'm like
35:41okay mate
35:41you're joking
35:42and he had
35:45taken the weapon
35:46and he had pushed
35:47the other boy
35:48into the corner
35:48and he was begging
35:49not to get her
35:51Andre told him
35:52to come here
35:53and help him
35:53and I'm like okay
35:54and I'm just holding him
35:56and then Andre proceeds
35:58to rapidly punch him
36:00and then
36:03after a while
36:04Chrissy said
36:05there's a lot of cars here
36:06there's a lot of people
36:07watching you
36:08there's kids out
36:08you need to hurry up
36:10Andre do what you gotta do
36:12just hurry up
36:12we gotta go
36:14Andre is
36:15looking at me
36:16and he still has
36:17the weapon in his hands
36:18and the other boy
36:20he has
36:20the weapon
36:21just like
36:22squeezing it
36:23just like
36:23trying to
36:23not get harmed
36:25and then
36:26he had another
36:27smaller weapon
36:29took that out
36:30and he
36:32stabbed him right there
36:34where's right here
36:36on the neck
36:37like back side
36:37of the neck
36:38like side
36:39on the right side
36:40did you do
36:40right
36:41Jaslyn Smith
36:43gives a very
36:44accurate description
36:45of where the injuries
36:47are on Dwight's body
36:50Jaslyn's description
36:51of the events
36:52leading up to Dwight's death
36:53come off as callous
36:54like she's rattling
36:55off some grocery list
36:56when in reality
36:57this is the murder
36:59of a human being
37:00you had said
37:02that the weapon
37:03that Andre was using
37:05he used it to stab
37:07the boy
37:09I'm assuming
37:10it's a knife then
37:11that he had
37:12there was a knife
37:13and there is
37:14no longer
37:16a sword
37:17a longer what?
37:19a sword
37:19a sword
37:20so it was a small knife
37:21and then a long sword
37:23there were apparently
37:24two weapons
37:25at the scene
37:26she does confirm
37:27that there was
37:28a smaller knife
37:29that she knew
37:31that Andre used
37:32to stab Dwight with
37:34the boy was just like
37:37you're gonna kill me
37:38just choke me out
37:40or like end it
37:41because he kept
37:42going in and out
37:43he's like
37:44choke me out
37:45end it
37:46and Andre
37:48stabbed him again
37:51Jaslyn Smith
37:52describes
37:53that Dwight Grant
37:54begged for them
37:55to end his life
37:56to just do it
37:57to kill him already
37:58because he was
37:59in so much pain
38:01he still wasn't
38:02like
38:04dead
38:05and he was
38:06coming in and out
38:07so
38:08Andre looked at me
38:09and he was like
38:10just hold him
38:11and I held down
38:13his one arm
38:15and one leg
38:16and Andre
38:17had taken
38:19the larger sword
38:20and stabbed him
38:21like the chest
38:22okay
38:24Jaslyn was
38:25very consistent
38:26in both of her interviews
38:27which is something
38:29that can tell investigators
38:30that's what actually happened
38:32she's not making things up
38:34she's not trying
38:35to remember a story
38:36she's consistently saying
38:38the same thing
38:39over and over
38:40she states
38:42that Andre
38:42took the sword
38:44and he drove it
38:45into Dwight's chest
38:47and of course
38:48that eventually
38:49leads to Dwight's death
38:50none
38:52of this trio
38:53showed any mercy
38:54particularly Andre
38:56Andre
38:57was holding him
38:58by the mouth
38:59and the nose
38:59and had a hand
39:01over his chest
39:02and where he had stabbed
39:03and I was holding
39:04his legs
39:05okay
39:06quieted down
39:07and then he slowly
39:08just died
39:09law enforcement
39:11was able to identify
39:13via Amazon
39:14purchase records
39:15a snake eye
39:16tactical weapon set
39:18that Andre Clements
39:19has purchased
39:20law enforcement
39:22was first made aware
39:23of this weapon set
39:24because an anonymous
39:26teacher
39:26submitted a photo
39:28of this large
39:30black and red
39:31knife
39:32and three smaller
39:34dagger type knives
39:36that Andre Clements
39:37had taken a picture
39:38and sent to another
39:39student
39:39so that's how
39:41law enforcement
39:42knew what type
39:43of weapon
39:44was a possible
39:46murder weapon
39:47in this case
39:48he had told me
39:49to get Chrissy
39:50and get cleaning supplies
39:52and at this time
39:53we both had not
39:54eaten
39:55we both were exhausted
39:56so he's like
39:57push him back here
39:58into the bushes
39:59and just
40:00leave him there
40:02we'll figure out
40:03what to do with him
40:04at a different time
40:04and I'm just like
40:05okay
40:06because prior to this
40:07he had told me
40:08that this was the first
40:09person he had ever
40:10killed
40:30on October 23rd
40:322021
40:33less than one week
40:35after Dwight Grant's
40:36body was found
40:37Christy Parisian
40:38and Jazlyn Smith
40:39are arrested
40:40for his murder
40:41when Christy
40:43and Jazlyn
40:44were picked up
40:45they were transported
40:46to the Myanmar
40:47Police Department
40:48the car
40:49was audio
40:50and video
40:51recorded
40:51for that entire
40:53transport
40:56they took my phone
40:57they took my phone too
40:58we're not going to college
40:59we're not going to
41:00write a paper
41:00we're not going to

41:11oh my god
41:12I just got out of
41:13uniforms
41:15Jazlyn and Christy
41:16start talking about
41:18the fact that they
41:19are going to go
41:20to juvenile detention
41:21that they're going
41:22to have to wear uniforms
41:23that they think
41:24that they're going
41:25to get some sort
41:25of a probationary
41:27sentence
41:27based on their
41:28involvement in this
41:44they also talk
41:45about where's Dre
41:46why hasn't he
41:47been picked up
41:48they make comments
41:49about well
41:50if they picked us
41:51up with a police car
41:53they're going to
41:53send a whole
41:53SWAT team
41:54after him
41:55let's do this
41:56let's do that
41:57he says
41:57let's do this
41:58let's do that
41:59he says
41:59we listen
42:00oh my god
42:03hey how does
42:04two fall
42:04if he is the one
42:06that talked
42:07out of three of us
42:08and I find out
42:09and he's not being
42:10picked up too
42:11if he ain't being
42:12picked up
42:12it's great
42:14law enforcement
42:15law enforcement
42:15tried to take
42:16Andre Clements
42:16into custody
42:17the same night
42:18they did
42:18Jaslyn Smith
42:20and Christy Parisian
42:21they were not
42:21able to do so
42:22Mr. Clements
42:24turned himself in
42:25to the Miramar
42:25Police Department
42:26the next day
42:27you're going to go
42:28with this gentleman
42:28okay

42:59he is taken
43:01to a holding cell
43:01and he asks
43:03when he will get
43:03a psychiatric evaluation
43:07now that Christy
43:08has officially
43:08been arrested
43:09and is in custody
43:10investigators need
43:11to interview her
43:12a second time
43:13I can tell you
43:14that
43:15some of the things
43:16that you told us
43:17on Tuesday
43:18we know
43:19for a fact
43:20to not be true
43:21right now
43:22I think the best
43:24thing for you to do
43:25is to be honest
43:26be up front
43:28let's start
43:29on and about
43:30the 11th
43:31of this month
43:32mmhmm
43:32he saw him
43:34after moving here
43:35yeah
43:35mmhmm
43:36so that Monday
43:37he dropped me off
43:38home and he found
43:39out that his ex-girlfriend
43:41was nice and
43:42with him
43:42who's he
43:43who are you talking
43:44about
43:45he
43:46Andre
43:46okay
43:47Andre
43:49that Andre
43:50Clemens
43:51mmhmm
43:54oops
43:55I'm paranoid
43:55I'm sorry
43:55sorry
43:56I understand
43:56don't worry
43:57do you want to
43:58protect your boyfriend
44:00I do
44:01but I don't want to go to jail
44:02so
44:04even after being
44:05sucked into the murder
44:06of Dwight Grant
44:07she still wants to
44:09protect Andre Clemens
44:10we kind of put you
44:12in a predicament
44:12right
44:14you're sitting here
44:15talking to us
44:15because of the hand
44:16that you want
44:16to protect them
44:19no
44:20Christy did express
44:21some sort of fear
44:23and almost paranoia
44:24about Andre
44:25knowing
44:25that she was
44:26the one that spoke
44:28Andre and I
44:29were talking about
44:30how
44:31with the college
44:32in school
44:32and Andre
44:33you guys
44:34did the date
44:34and
44:35he found out
44:36that
44:37and Dante
44:38had sexual relations
44:40with each other
44:41and he got really upset
44:42about it
44:43texting her
44:44telling her
44:45so one was this
44:46blah blah blah
44:47how did he find out
44:48that
44:49had sex
44:50with Dwight
44:51or Dante
44:51so
44:53basically
44:53he was talking
44:54about it
44:55in the car
44:55and he was like
44:56so
44:56I know
44:57had holes
44:59and stuff like that
44:59and I was like
45:00yeah
45:00of course
45:01she was like
45:02yeah
45:02I know that
45:03Dante
45:03was cold
45:04I'm like
45:05I know that
45:05he was like
45:06blah blah blah
45:08what conversation
45:09was it a rumor
45:09did he deal
45:10on social media
45:11it was a rumor
45:11a rumor around the school
45:14and we got in the house
45:15and people were talking
45:16for a couple of hours
45:17and he was like
45:17murder is going to happen
45:18soon
45:19you know the messages
45:20you read my phone
45:21you read his messages
45:22so you would get paid
45:24I didn't think
45:25he meant like
45:26actual
45:27murder
45:28some of these text messages
45:29that occurred prior
45:31to the homicide
45:32really took away
45:34the argument of
45:35oh I just thought
45:36we were going to beat him up
45:37because it's very difficult
45:39to take a text like
45:40murder is going to happen soon
45:43as a
45:43I didn't mean it like that
45:45especially once somebody
45:47is actually murdered
45:49you know fighting him
45:51beating him up
45:52or something
45:52a classic high school
45:53you know
45:54boy boy
45:55I messed with your girl
45:56you messed with my girl
45:57type fight thing
45:58but I didn't know
45:58it was going to be like
45:59actual murder
46:00so you know
46:02I saw the method
46:02I put
46:03so yeah
46:04help
46:05I didn't think
46:05it would be
46:05actual murder
46:07when Christy
46:08is downplaying
46:10what the plan was
46:12for the murder
46:13of Dwight Grant
46:14she was doing that
46:16to minimize
46:17her own involvement
46:18as well
46:19as to
46:20try and protect Andre
46:21because at the time
46:23when everybody
46:23is arrested
46:24they're still dating
46:25she is still
46:26in love with him
46:28from the 5,000
46:29some odd messages
46:30they exchange
46:31from just October 1st
46:33to October 19th
46:34she is head over heels
46:36for Andre
46:38after that
46:39he was just like
46:40so
46:42how are we going to do this
46:43blah blah
46:44Christy actually relates
46:46to the police
46:47that there was
46:47a plan in place
46:49apparently prompted
46:50by Andre
46:51she was told
46:53to in effect
46:55seduce Dwight
46:57compel him
46:58to enter the stairwell
47:00Christy is then
47:02going to wait
47:03a couple of minutes
47:04and there was
47:04some sort of
47:05prearranged signal
47:06where Andre
47:07and Jaslyn
47:08would then come down
47:09and confront Dwight
47:26Chrissy was the bait
47:27he sends his own
47:28girlfriend out
47:28to be bait
47:29for this homicide
47:31and then he and Jaslyn
47:32come upon them later
47:34and attack
47:35he pulled out
47:37the big red
47:38and black
47:39knife
47:39which he found out
47:40right now
47:41the big red
47:42and black
47:42sword knife
47:43they got from
47:45Amazon
47:46I think those
47:47were the point
47:48of him killing
47:48putting an actual
47:51stabby stab
47:52the knife
47:52into the boy
47:53multiple times
47:56did you see
47:57who actually
47:57stabbed
47:58Dante?
47:59Andre
48:01several times
48:02several times?
48:03several times
48:04you know
48:05here's the stab
48:06part
48:06the stab
48:08you can hear
48:09the knife
48:10or the flesh
48:10you know
48:11this fishing sound
48:13and at some point
48:14I heard
48:14the big knife
48:15the bigger knife
48:16be a bigger sound
48:17bigger knife
48:18I think it went
48:18into his neck
48:19area somewhere
48:20because
48:21I appreciate
48:22the thicker flesh
48:23or even bigger
48:24squishy sound
48:25at no point
48:26did you feel like
48:27you know
48:28maybe I should
48:29call 911
48:29maybe I should
48:30like do something
48:31about this
48:32at that point
48:33when you see
48:33me on the mic
48:33of your hand
48:34when you're
48:34stabbing someone
48:35else
48:35you don't know
48:35how to be involved
48:36in the other
48:36end of life
48:38you know
48:39like I point
48:40I'm just scary
48:40like I'm frozen
48:42trying to
48:42like you're actually
48:43doing this
48:43you're actually
48:44stabbing someone
48:46and even after
48:47everything
48:47not only the murder
48:48itself
48:49but being arrested
48:50and charged
48:50for it
48:52Christy doesn't seem
48:53to appreciate
48:53the seriousness
48:54of the situation
48:55she's in
48:56once we're done
48:57with all the paperwork
48:58and all that
48:58that we're gonna
48:59take you to
48:59it's a place
49:00in Fort Lauderdale
49:00it's called
49:01the Juvenile Assessment
49:02Center
49:02which is the
49:03jail
49:03for juveniles
49:06I don't have
49:06the answer
49:07for that
49:07right
49:08because I
49:08I didn't work
49:09with them
49:09but I think
49:11it's gonna be
49:11for a little while
49:13just being honest
49:39so I wish you
49:41very best
49:42investigators
49:43discover
49:44even more
49:45text messages
49:46this time
49:46between 17 year old
49:48Andre Clements
49:48and his ex-girlfriend
49:50Andre's ex-girlfriend
49:52she had brought
49:53up the fact
49:54that Andre
49:54had told her
49:55he was going
49:56to murder
49:56the victim
49:57she had confronted
49:59him and said
49:59you weren't serious
50:00about that
50:01were you
50:01and he just said
50:03we're not gonna
50:03talk about that
50:04with all the suspects
50:06now in custody
50:07investigators can now
50:09do a more thorough
50:10examination
50:10of all the
50:11communications
50:12between the trio
50:13the text messages
50:14were a treasure trove
50:16of evidence
50:17they showed
50:18that Andre Clements
50:19had premeditation
50:21more than a week
50:22before this crime
50:24occurred
50:24he had decided
50:25that this was
50:26going to happen
50:27on the Sunday
50:28and it had to happen
50:29before homecoming
50:30he and Christy Parisian
50:33went back and forth
50:34coming up with ways
50:35to figure out
50:35exactly where
50:37Dwight Grant lived
50:38Christy Parisian
50:40also sent messages
50:41indicating that
50:42she had a family
50:43birthday party
50:44that she had to go to
50:46but she was going
50:47to do whatever
50:48she needed to
50:49fake crying
50:50fake some sort
50:51of emergency
50:52to not attend
50:53the family birthday party
50:54while the messages
50:56are a goldmine
50:57of digital evidence
50:58investigators still
50:59need physical evidence
51:00to tie this trio
51:01to the murder
51:02of Dwight Grant
51:03from the messages
51:05we know there's
51:06a missing necklace
51:07Andre Clements
51:09and Christy Parisian
51:10had matching gold
51:11heart necklaces
51:13that they wore
51:14as part of
51:14their relationship
51:16detectives
51:16they eventually
51:17locate the necklace
51:19the charm
51:20that was missing
51:20from Andre Clements
51:21at the site
51:22where the bonfire
51:23the burn site
51:24occurred behind
51:25Jaslyn's apartment
51:26the DNA results
51:28that come back
51:29also show
51:30Jaslyn's DNA
51:31on part of a rubber
51:33latex glove
51:34that was found
51:36search warrants
51:37are executed
51:38at both Christy
51:39and Jaslyn's homes
51:40and there
51:40investigators find
51:42even more evidence
51:44at Christy Parisian's house
51:46they find the boots
51:47that Christy was wearing
51:49subsequent DNA testing
51:51of those boots
51:51would show that
51:52Dwight Grant's blood
51:53was found on them
51:54they also find
51:56the very distinct
51:58orange and pink purse
52:00that Christy Parisian
52:01brought to the crime scene
52:03that contained
52:05the items
52:05that she was using
52:06to help clean up
52:07after the homicide occurred
52:10between the statements
52:11from Christy
52:12and Jaslyn
52:13the surveillance footage
52:14the phone data
52:15the DNA evidence
52:16investigators now
52:18have a solid theory
52:19as to what happened
52:21the night
52:22Dwight was murdered
52:23Dwight fought
52:24and tried to escape
52:25but was pulled back in
52:27he was held down
52:30he was told
52:32he was going to be killed
52:33he was hit
52:35he was stabbed
52:37three times
52:38he was muffled
52:40the statements
52:42from the witnesses
52:43that were there
52:44Christy Parisian
52:45and Jaslyn Smith
52:47both put the sword
52:49in Andre Clement's hands
52:51when Dwight was killed
52:58for the killing
52:59of Dwight Grant
53:00all three defendants
53:02are charged
53:03as adults
53:04for first degree murder
53:05and conspiracy
53:07to commit murder
53:08it's clear to prosecutors
53:10that Andre Clements
53:11was the mastermind
53:12behind the murder
53:13of Dwight Grant
53:13all because he was jealous
53:15that Dwight was dating
53:16his ex-girlfriend
53:18Andre Clements
53:20had the motive
53:20based on his statements
53:22and his ill will
53:24towards Dwight
53:25for Dwight having
53:26started dating
53:27Andre's ex-girlfriend
53:29Andre Clements
53:31decided
53:32that his ex-girlfriend
53:34should not have
53:35the freedom
53:36and the choice
53:36to date who she wanted
53:38while Andre Clements
53:39had moved on
53:40and was dating
53:41someone new
53:41he didn't feel
53:43his ex had
53:43that same right
53:44Andre Clements
53:46orchestrated
53:46this entire
53:47homicide
53:48the murder
53:49of Dwight Grant
53:50because of
53:52his jealousy
53:53you know
53:54this case
53:55had all the makings
53:56of a big
53:57public trial
53:58but in August
53:59of 2024
54:00Christy and Jazlyn
54:02make an unexpected move
54:04Christy Parisian
54:06and Jazlyn Smith
54:07both decided
54:09to take pleas
54:10Christy and Jazlyn
54:12both pled
54:12to the lesser
54:13included offense
54:14of murder
54:15in the second degree
54:16and both were sentenced
54:17to 25 years
54:18in Florida State Prison
54:20but Andre Clements
54:22still wants to take
54:22his chance
54:23with the jury
54:24when Andre Clements
54:26is set for trial
54:27we take depositions
54:28from both
54:29Jazlyn Smith
54:30and Christy Parisian
54:32in anticipation
54:33of trial
54:34we get all of our
54:35witnesses lined up
54:36we make sure
54:37that we have
54:37what we need
54:38to prove beyond
54:39a reasonable doubt
54:39to a jury
54:40that Andre Clements
54:42committed this crime
54:43but on the eve
54:44of Andre Clements trial
54:46the prosecution
54:47is approached
54:48by his attorneys
54:50Andre's attorneys
54:51approached us
54:52asking if we would
54:54consider a plea
54:55under the Florida
54:56Constitution
54:57victims
54:57and their next of kin
54:59have important rights
55:00and we take that
55:01very seriously
55:02so we met with
55:04Miss Emile
55:04and Dwight Grant Sr
55:06and from that
55:07they decided
55:08they would extend
55:09that grace
55:10and allow a plea
55:11to occur
55:12the plea happened
55:14right before
55:15we were about
55:15to start jury selection
55:17Andre Clements
55:18was convicted
55:19of murder
55:20in the first degree
55:20of Dwight Grant
55:21he knew
55:23a virtue
55:24of all of the evidence
55:25digital evidence
55:26the videography
55:27and of course
55:28eyewitness evidence
55:30that demonstrates him
55:31actually committing
55:32the fatal act
55:33that's powerful
55:34it's almost
55:34insurmountable
55:36so I'm not surprised
55:37at all
55:37that he copped
55:38a plea here
55:40at sentencing
55:41Magellan Emile
55:43the mother
55:44of Dwight Grant
55:45gives a
55:46heartbreaking
55:47victim impact
55:48statement
55:49I miss my son
55:51dearly
55:51I would never
55:52walk my son
55:53down there
55:54he would never
55:55come and say
55:56anything to me
55:57because he's not
55:57here
55:58but he's resting
55:59in power
56:00and all the good
56:01things that my son
56:03did
56:04yes
56:05the memories
56:06will always
56:07be with me
56:08Dwight's mom
56:09is one of the
56:10sweetest human beings
56:12I've ever had
56:13the opportunity
56:13to meet
56:14she brought
56:16everyone in the
56:16courtroom to tears
56:17even the judge
56:18was in tears
56:19and had to run
56:20off the bench
56:21couldn't sleep last
56:23night
56:23thinking about
56:24this case
56:25how the hell
56:26comes that
56:27the case was
56:29presided over
56:29by judge
56:30Ernest Calra
56:31he was
56:32absolutely
56:33devastated
56:34by the impact
56:36that this case
56:36had on everyone
56:37involved
56:38there were so many
56:39parents that lost
56:41their children
56:42you had Dwight Grant's
56:44family who will never
56:44get to see him again
56:45but you also had
56:46Christy Parisian's
56:48mother
56:48Jazlyn Smith's
56:50family
56:50and even Andre
56:52Clement's mother
56:53who were losing
56:54their children
56:55as a result
56:56of these actions
56:56the judge expressed
56:58how senseless
56:59he felt it was
57:00it's just
57:02some
57:03petty indiscretion
57:05committed in a high
57:06school
57:06and somebody decides
57:08that the penalty
57:08for that is death
57:09the escalation there
57:11it really blows
57:12the mind
57:13Andre Clements
57:15was sentenced
57:15to 40 years
57:16in Florida State
57:17Prison
57:18followed by
57:19lifetime probation
57:20justice for Dwight
57:22is the most
57:23important thing
57:23true justice
57:24would be bringing
57:25him back
57:25and the court
57:26system can't do
57:27that
57:27we feel that
57:29the sentence
57:30that was imposed
57:31is a measure
57:33of justice
57:33for Dwight Grant
57:34he's gone
57:36forever and ever
57:37and all because
57:38somebody got jealous
57:39it's hard to swallow
57:42that four families
57:43were shattered
57:43all over a made up
57:45love triangle
57:45born out of a
57:46teenage boy's
57:47jealousy
57:48and rage
57:49two parties
57:50in this
57:52so called
57:52love triangle
57:53were unaware
57:54that it was
57:55a love triangle
57:55it was
57:57only Andre
57:57that had
57:58that perception
57:59Dwight Grant
58:01had a wonderful
58:02future ahead of him
58:03he had family
58:05that loved him
58:06friends that cared
58:07deeply
58:07he was looking
58:08forward to going
58:09to college
58:10and pursuing
58:11a career
58:11the senseless nature
58:14in which he was
58:14taken from his
58:16family and his
58:17friends
58:17by Andre Clements
58:19Jaslyn Smith
58:20and Christy Parisian
58:22will haunt his
58:23family and friends
58:24for the rest
58:24of their lives
58:26all right
58:27hold on
58:27ready to do it
58:28good morning
58:28Miramar
