00:00How about the college basketball tournament?
00:02Do you want to see it expand from 68?
00:04Maybe the play-ins a little more?
00:06Or do you like it where it is?
00:08Or, again, are we getting over the board here?
00:11Are we getting over the line here with the amount of teams that we're going to invite in?
00:14I mean, there was even a question of Miami of Ohio.
00:17I mean, you know, you go 32-0, there's a question whether or not they belong in.
00:21So you tell me, I mean, Brad, do you think they should expand the college basketball tournament?
00:29I think they could go maybe four more teams.
00:31But I think just blowing it up and, you know, going up to 78, I don't think you need to
00:36do that.
00:36I think four more teams and, like you said, maybe one extra day of play-in.
00:41They've got to figure that out, too, because they had Texas in the first four.
00:47And then they had to travel all the way out to where I was in Portland.
00:54And they didn't even have a disc.
00:55I mean, they got to Portland at 4 o'clock in the morning or whatever,
00:58and they came to shoot around at 11, and they had to play the next day.
01:03They got some news there, too, on just how they shoot around.
01:06And if they could do anything, if you've got 78, the 79th team is going to be complaining that they
01:12should have been in.
01:13And should a Miami of Ohio?
01:14Yeah, Miami should have been.
01:16I was working with Wally Zerbiak.
01:17What are you, crazy?
01:18Of course a Miami should have been.
01:23Yeah, but, you know, like I had high point.
01:26I had high point against Wisconsin.
01:28You know, who picked high point to be Wisconsin in their bracket?
01:31Raise your hand.
01:31Okay, I see nobody did.
01:33But it was an awesome game.
01:34And, you know, that was probably the most fun I've had doing a college basketball game in a while.
01:38And it probably kept my energy that I had to do after that on the same day.
01:43But, I mean, that's awesome when you've got a team like that that's, you know, 15 seed or whatever and
01:49a major Big Ten team that was, you know, rolling in really with a good record.
01:54That part's fun.
01:55So that's the part I love about basketball tournament.
01:57And so will you ever have that in football?
02:00I don't know.
02:01Maybe on a given day somebody can beat a Power Five team, but not usually.
02:06Where do you see college sports in two years?
02:08Do you think we're going to eventually get to the super conference where there's going to be just two conferences
02:14and maybe an outlier conference where you have places like San Diego State, San Jose State?
02:20Are we rolling towards that now, Brad?
02:23I thought that a couple years ago, Dan.
02:25I don't know if I still see that because I don't think the two biggest conferences get along well enough.
02:31I mean, Tony Petiti and Greg Sankey, they don't see the eye-to-eye on anything.
02:36And I think until the Big Ten and the SEC say, okay, we've got to get married here, guys, then
02:41I think it could happen.
02:42And then I think you'd have maybe the top 50 teams in the country, and that's called the Power 50
02:50or something.
02:50And then everybody else has their own playoffs or something.
02:53But I think it's conceivable that, you know, that could happen.
02:56I just don't think the powers that be get along well enough to do it right now.
03:01We'll see.
