00:00Bob, let's get into the Amazings.
00:02What's going on with the Amazings?
00:04I mean, the Mets right now, if you listen to New York radio,
00:08I mean, the sky is falling right now.
00:11A lot of concern right now with the New York Mets?
00:15Oh, absolutely.
00:16I mean, go back to last June 13th.
00:18I think they're on like a pace to lose 100 games.
00:23They've been terrible for a while.
00:25It's embarrassing.
00:26And their payroll is $40 million more than the Dodgers.
00:29Spent more than the Dodgers the last five years
00:32and got nothing to show for it.
00:34So, yeah, they look brutal.
00:35I'm not saying it's Carlos Mendoza's fault.
00:38They've been backing him and everything else.
00:40But someone's going to have to pay the price here
00:42if things don't turn around quickly.
00:45But, yeah, they're an absolute mess.
00:47And, hey, you know, when you have a $350 million payroll
00:50and you have the same records at Colorado Rockies, something's wrong.
00:54So is this worse than the 93 Mets?
01:00It may be.
01:01Well, certainly a lot more money being spent.
01:03And so, yeah, that was the famous, the worst team money can buy.
01:07But this is, I think, a much worse situation because you've got guys, you know,
01:11making, you know, $30, $40, $70 million a year.
01:15And look what you're getting, absolutely nothing.
01:18Two big holes in rotation with Senga and Peterson.
01:23You know, Lindor has struggled.
01:25Soto's on the injured list.
01:28You know, Bichette hasn't done anything.
01:30You wonder if Bichette will even stay around after this year,
01:33which means that threw $47 million down the drain for nothing.
01:38You think that was a mistake, him not taking that Phillies deal
01:42and instead going to New York and going to Queens?
01:45You think that was if they had to do that all over again,
01:48that Stearns would look at that and say that that, you know,
01:51they'd like to have a mulligan on that?
01:55Yeah, they just pivoted, remember,
01:56because they thought they were going to get Kyle Tucker.
01:58And so they just quickly pivoted and knew that the Phillies were about to sign him.
02:04And if you're the Phillies, just say, okay, you know,
02:07we'll grab you a year from now when you're a free agent.
02:09They need to shake things up themselves.
02:11They're not playing great baseball.
02:13So, but, yeah, I mean, for Bichette, you get your $47 million,
02:17hit free agency again, and kind of laugh all the way to the bank.
