00:08Tonight on RuPaul's Drag Race Reunited, the nine queens return and they let each other have it.
00:16I hate the way that you act. I hate the way that you talk. I felt that you were incredibly
00:20fake.
00:21You went behind me, grabbed my tits. What am I supposed to do?
00:23Watch as the girls open their hearts.
00:26Somebody sent a message. If you're in Africa, we will burn you alive.
00:29What?
00:29I guess it was kind of an emotional breakthrough for me.
00:32Did your parents watch the show?
00:34I'm sorry.
00:35And then turn the tables on Merle and Santino.
00:38You made me feel like absolute shit.
00:41You both call me losers.
00:43You're a fucking star. Don't let anybody tell you that you're not.
00:48All this and more as we announce your choice for this season's Miss Congeniality.
00:53If anything would make me look like a bitch on this show, this would be it.
00:56Gentlemen, start your engines.
00:58The race may be over, but the fiest fun has just begun.
01:08Welcome to RuPaul's Drag Race Reunited.
01:11You know, it wasn't that long ago I had this empty, lonely feeling deep inside me.
01:17So I implanted eight baby drag queens.
01:20That's right.
01:21I'm the Octodrag mommy.
01:24And because more is always better, and I'm really bad at math, I gave birth to nine beautiful drag queens.
01:32And they're all here tonight.
01:34Our first queen was with us a short time, but she made a really big impression.
01:39Give it up for the other white meat, Miss Victoria Porkchop Parker.
01:47Serving them glamour.
01:49Hey, Ru, how are you?
01:50Darling.
01:52It's wonderful to see you.
01:53It's great to see you.
01:55Our next queen oozes classic movie star glamour.
01:59Beamed here from Hollywood 1940.
02:02Miss Tammy Brown's back in town.
02:04Stroll down the runway.
02:06Another payday.
02:08Cover up magazine.
02:11And when they see you.
02:12Tammy darling.
02:14Hi, Ru.
02:15You look fantastic.
02:17Have a seat.
02:19You love to hate her or hated to love her.
02:22Welcome, Akasha.
02:24Cover girl, put the bass in your walk.
02:27Head to toe, let your whole body talk.
02:31Okay.
02:35Hi, baby.
02:37Good to see you.
02:38You too.
02:39Our next queen brought her cha-cha hills and danced her way into our hearts.
02:44Welcome back, Jade.
02:46Walk.
02:47Now walk.
02:48And walk.
02:49Walk.
02:50Now walk.
02:51Ooh.
02:52Walk.
02:55Hi, mama.
02:56Hi, doll.
02:57How are you?
02:58Great to see you.
02:59Likewise.
02:59Have a seat.
03:01Well, all right.
03:03Oh, my goodness.
03:04First up, pork chop.
03:07Now, you were here for just one episode.
03:10Yes.
03:10Was it worth it?
03:12Oh, definitely.
03:13Although I left early, I still got the opportunity to be here.
03:16And this has been kind of a groundbreaking show.
03:18It'll be something that will live in history forever, and I'm glad to have been part of it.
03:22I go to Walmart, and everyone's like, you're Victoria Parker.
03:25It's like a pork chop low hand.
03:27Exactly.
03:28You know, that's the price of fame.
03:29Now, Victoria, I heard that some of the southern queens felt that it was demeaning for you to get dunked
03:36by water.
03:37Tell me about that.
03:38A lot of the feedback I got from the drag community said, you know, this was kind of degrading.
03:42You let people pour water on you.
03:43I'm like, well, what do you think models do?
03:45We were on a show to be America's next top female impersonator.
03:49If you want to do those types of things, you have to be able to do the job.
03:52And you saw the other challenges.
03:54How well do you think you would have done for the later challenges?
03:57If the sewing challenge would have been a little later, I might have stuck around a long time.
04:00But unfortunately, I'm no Bob Mackie.
04:03Yeah, well.
04:04Now, if you had the chance, would you do it all over again?
04:06I certainly would.
04:07If there's another season, you better watch out for me.
04:11I love it.
04:12Hey, Tammy.
04:13Hey there, RuPaul.
04:14Now, you're quirky.
04:16I love it.
04:17People love it.
04:17Are you like this 24 hours a day?
04:19I'm a high concept character.
04:21In the seventh grade, they said, you're crazy.
04:22I said, okay, I like that.
04:23Crazy sticks to me.
04:24Uh-huh.
04:25Like ribs.
04:26Now, who are your influences?
04:27My influences, first of all, started with Tina Turner.
04:30Uh-huh.
04:30You like Tina Turner?
04:31Because I like her, too.
04:32She has long legs and nice weeks.
04:33And I really like that.
04:34And I aspire for that high life condition.
04:36That's what got me moving in drag, was Tina Turner.
04:38Actually, my favorite blog, D-Listed, named you as a hot slut of the day.
04:43What did that feel like?
04:44Why couldn't they use better words?
04:45I don't like being called a slut.
04:47Is there something wrong with being a slut?
04:49Well, I'm not a slut.
04:49I'm a lady.
04:50Of course you are, darling.
04:51You look under my skirt, and it'll stick you in the eye, though.
04:59Tammy, you are just so lovely and unique, and you will be remembered forever and ever.
05:07Akasha.
05:07Did you borrow that dress from Monica Lewinsky?
05:10No.
05:11There's a little bit of stain right there.
05:13It's oil sheen.
05:14Oh, it's afro sheen.
05:16Yes.
05:17Love it?
05:17I'm not sure my hair was looking good.
05:19Now, none of you girls were immune from Hurricane Akasha.
05:25Let's take a look.
05:27Tammy, a lot of people overdraw their lips.
05:29Hers make her look like retarded.
05:31Porkchop looks like a football field.
05:34Maybe the makeup's just scared to stare on your face.
05:38Oh, my goodness.
05:40Ow.
05:41What's it like being considered the bitch of the show?
05:43Yeah, I said everything that's there, and it's funny.
05:46I think it's appalling, and it hurts my feelings.
05:48Does it?
05:49Yeah.
05:50Do you think you come off sometimes kind of harsh?
05:52I do.
05:53Sometimes I do.
05:54There was an anger that emanates from you.
05:56Where do you think that anger comes from?
05:57I honestly guess I could say it boils down to my background with family.
06:01One of my friends said that I don't let anyone close because I'm afraid to get hurt.
06:05Right.
06:05Because I don't talk to my family.
06:06Why is that?
06:07Well, I got kicked out when I was 17, and I never really looked back.
06:10It's like, if you're not going to accept me for who I am, then I'm better off without you.
06:17But your grandmother has seen the show?
06:19Yes.
06:20My grandma was like, oh, you could really work in some stilettos.
06:23And then I'm sitting here thinking, like, what did I do on that episode?
06:25What did I do?
06:26And I'm walking across the street with my butt hanging out and stuff.
06:31And I'm like, wow.
06:31And this is her first time seeing you in drag, your grandmother.
06:34Because I honestly never really told them, like, yeah, they can know that I'm gay, but
06:38I never wanted to push that extreme onto them.
06:40It was kind of my way of, like, almost making money without having to do anything illegal.
06:45Like when I was out, like, staying in friends' houses or whatever, since I didn't have anywhere
06:49to go.
06:50It did make me a stronger person, even though it had that wall of anger.
06:54I mean, it helped me become the performer that I am now and the person I am.
06:58Like, I still, I would do anything for anyone if I could help, because I've been down and
07:02out and I haven't had anything.
07:03So I know how it is.
07:04So there was hostility.
07:05But there was a softer side to you that was shown on the show.
07:09Let's take a look.
07:11Now sashay away.
07:14And I don't know why I'm crying.
07:17I have not cried in, like, four years.
07:20Sappy movies don't make me cry.
07:22I'm not very emotional, but yet I'm crying now.
07:26What's it like to see that?
07:27I guess it was kind of an emotional breakthrough for me, since I am so hard-shelled and wall
07:32of anger.
07:33What were you crying about?
07:34The experience, meeting everyone, meeting you, um, just making something out of myself
07:41after what I've been through, saying, I don't want to do it again.
07:46Like, the emotions are there.
07:47I'm not heartless.
07:48Thank you, Akasha.
07:49Wow.
07:50That was interesting.
07:52All right, Jade, you are a creature of great beauty and talent.
07:56But I have to admit, when I see you, I think of one thing.
08:01Let's take a look.
08:02Jade, there's still a lot of snakes on this motherfucking plane.
08:09Your look is gorgeous.
08:11I was just a little bit worried about, um, your tuck there.
08:14It's interesting to see such a beautiful woman with such a huge cup.
08:18All right, Jade, so I have to ask the question that everyone wants to know.
08:23How big is it?
08:24No, just kidding.
08:25Just kidding.
08:26Just kidding.
08:26I'm just kidding.
08:27Not really.
08:28How big is it?
08:29Just show me with your fingers.
08:30You don't have to see.
08:30Just mouth it.
08:31I saw you made it.
08:32Show me later.
08:34Now, we talked about tucking during the judging.
08:37And, you know, I mean, it's a legitimate part of being a drag queen.
08:41Now, why did it upset you?
08:43Obviously, when you're dressed as a woman, you don't want to be, you know, asked a question
08:46about your penis.
08:47I mean, it's very embarrassing.
08:48What was your biggest frustration with the competition?
08:50My elimination.
08:51I mean, there was a lot of things that went down that nothing was mentioned.
08:53And when I was with Rebecca, she pulls my hair, scratches my face, and holds my neck and pushes
08:58me on the floor.
08:59And I'm thinking, okay, this girl's going to get disqualified for touching me.
09:02Tell me about the best thing that happened to you during the competition.
09:05The best thing was meeting, obviously, you and the girls.
09:06And I learned so many things from each and every one of these girls.
09:10All of them?
09:11Oh, well, I mean, are we going to talk about Rebecca?
09:13Because, I mean, if we're going to talk about Rebecca, then let's talk.
09:15But I haven't met one person that agrees with me being the one sent home.
09:21I second that emotion.
09:22Well, let's see what Rebecca has to say.
09:24This next doll shocked America with her emotional confession.
09:29Welcome on Jaina.
09:32Lady boy, lady boy.
09:35Lady boy, lady boy.
09:38This room is all my girls feeling.
09:51This next queen proved that you can show off your ass and still have some class.
09:56Please welcome Chanel.
10:03Ooh la la.
10:07Hello, gorgeous.
10:10Give me hugs.
10:10Give me hugs.
10:11All right, baby.
10:12Mwah, mwah.
10:13Welcome, darling.
10:14Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10:15Gorgeous.
10:17Oh, my next vixen became the little queen that could.
10:21From Sunnybrook Farm, please welcome back, Rebecca Glasscock.
10:29Ooh, la la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
10:33Serving realness.
10:34Hi, mommy.
10:35Hey, Rue.
10:36Mwah, mwah.
10:37Mwah, mwah.
10:37How are you?
10:37It's so good to see you.
10:38Good to see you.
10:39How are you, Rebecca?
10:41Wonderful.
10:44All right.
10:45Ladies.
10:46Now, the song that you all came out to was from my album, Champion, which is, of course,
10:50available on iTunes.
10:52But the song is called Ladyboy, and it was inspired by Miss Angina.
10:58Ladyboy at best.
10:59Do you get tired of people saying that about you?
11:01When you guys critiqued me and said I was more of a boy in a dress, it kind of, you
11:04know,
11:04helped me realize to elevate my drag persona a little.
11:07I started as genderfuck, you know, so it's like it elevated from androgynous to gender
11:11bends, and then now to, like, this whole whatever you might want to call an alligator in your
11:15head.
11:17Now, you were a controversial character on this show.
11:20How does it make you feel?
11:21It doesn't make me feel any different.
11:22I mean, some people are going to love you, and some people are going to hate you.
11:25It's crazy because I started reading some of the blogs, and right after the first episode,
11:28I was like, oh, my God, I can't read these.
11:30I didn't read it until the fourth episode.
11:33Uh-oh.
11:33And that was even more emotional.
11:36Angina?
11:37You're the winner of this challenge.
11:39I just wanted to say, and I've been always so afraid to say it, that I've been living
11:44with HIV for the last two years of my life, and this means so much to me.
11:49I didn't want to say it on national TV because my parents says it's no.
11:53Did your parents watch the show?
11:55They did, but I had visited my parents a couple weeks back.
11:58Like, I didn't want them to have to watch it from the show.
12:01So I got home that weekend, and my mom, she's like, how are you?
12:06How's life?
12:06I was like, sit down.
12:08I had something to tell you.
12:08I've been HIV positive for, you know, the last three years.
12:12And she started crying, and I started crying, and I'm just like, please don't cry, because
12:17I didn't want to see her sad.
12:18So I basically explained to her everything that has happened in my life since the beginning.
12:23Mm-hmm.
12:24Since it first happened, whatever I've been doing to stay healthy and to keep myself strong,
12:30you know, and keep going.
12:31And when I said, you know, celebrate life and the way that I did my Viva Glam, I did it
12:35because I do celebrate my life.
12:37I can die tomorrow because I've done so much in my life, and I'm so proud of what I've done.
12:41So regardless what happened, I'm fine.
12:45I'm sorry.
12:46No, you don't have to be sorry.
12:48But it was the best conversation I've ever had with my mom.
12:51She gave me a kiss on my forehead, and she's like, you're stupid.
12:54If there's anybody that you should have told, it would have been me because I am your biggest
12:59support.
12:59You're, you know, like, you're my son.
13:01I would never let anything happen to you.
13:03I love you, Mom.
13:05And of course, everyone's written you about this.
13:07Yeah, I mean, they inspire me because they tell me their story.
13:10Mm-hmm.
13:11And they tell me that, you know, like, that I inspired them.
13:14It's truly amazing because I have not only my family support, my friends, and now my fans,
13:19and it's such a great feeling.
13:21Well, you are a hero, and you do everything with such style and grace.
13:25Well, Chanel, my dear, you brought a lot of confidence to this competition.
13:32Some might say too much.
13:34Let's take a look.
13:36I am amazed at myself.
13:39In my mind, I've already won.
13:41Rebecca, you are the winner of this challenge.
13:43I should have won that challenge.
13:45Jade.
13:45I should have won.
13:46I should have won this challenge.
13:47Nina and Rebecca.
13:49It should have been Nina and myself.
13:50Thank you, Chanel.
13:51No sashay away.
13:52I already won.
13:55You go, girl.
13:56What's up?
13:56Do you still think you should have won?
13:58The entire competition?
14:00Sure.
14:01Um, yes and no.
14:02I felt from day one on walking on the set that I was the one person you didn't like.
14:08In your critiques to me, they seemed very negative towards me.
14:12But you know, Chanel, you're not always going to get praise.
14:14But you gave so much praise to a lot of other people.
14:17You're here because you are a star baby.
14:20And there's no denying that.
14:22But with the competition, there were certain criteria that we wanted to meet.
14:26Actually, you felt that Rebecca should have gone home before you went home.
14:30Absolutely.
14:30Do you still feel that way?
14:31Absolutely.
14:32I have no jealousy towards you, whatever.
14:34I did not lose to you.
14:36I chose to go home.
14:38So I want you to know that, first and foremost.
14:40That you didn't win over me.
14:42You wanted to go home.
14:42I wanted to go home.
14:43And how does that make you feel, Rebecca?
14:45I mean, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
14:47I mean, you know, it is what it is.
14:49It's a competition.
14:49I think everyone from the get-go, you know, wanted to win.
14:53And honestly, there were a couple challenges that you won that I don't care what the fuck anybody says.
14:58You should not have won those challenges.
15:00Like in the girl fight competition when Rebecca won and I didn't.
15:04There's nothing that you could say that would make me comprehend why I didn't win that competition.
15:08See, I thought I was the definite winner.
15:10I would have put you last out of everybody to win then.
15:13Because you chose the girl that was the most feminine.
15:16And who honestly needed lip gloss and mascara.
15:19I was given a woman of color who looked nothing like me.
15:23And I was able to transform a very masculine image into a very beautiful feminine image.
15:28It was like taking Mr. T and turning it into, you know, Donna Summer or something, you know, on the
15:33runway.
15:33I have to say, you know, when you chose Temple, I thought you were sabotaging yourself.
15:38Honestly.
15:39How?
15:39She's a beautiful girl though.
15:40I honestly, and I've been doing Face for a long time, I didn't see it.
15:44No disrespect to Temple.
15:46Rebecca, a lot of people point to you as someone who is favored in the show.
15:51I think referring to, you know, maybe how the girls felt towards me.
15:55I mean, I'm not a hundred dollar bill.
15:56Not everyone is going to like me.
15:58It's not something, again, that I'm not used to.
16:00I do get a lot of, you know, resentment and a little bit of jealousy.
16:03There was no jealousy on my phone.
16:05I don't dislike you because I don't think it has nothing to do with your looks.
16:08It has nothing to do with your looks.
16:10I hate the way that you act.
16:11I hate the way that you talk.
16:12And I hate the fact that even after what you did to me, you did not have the decency to
16:16give me a call and talk about it.
16:19You know, I saw the confessional where she said that I scratched her face and I can guarantee you that
16:23that was merely by accident.
16:25Pulling my wig was accident?
16:26Pushing me on the floor was accident?
16:27Jade, honestly, anyone that sees that video can see how you went behind me, grabbed my tits, grabbed my snatch.
16:33What am I supposed to do?
16:34You know what I mean?
16:34I felt threatened.
16:35I felt embarrassed.
16:36Actually, I felt more embarrassed than when they picked on your tuck.
16:39You know?
16:39Girl, you were ridiculing me.
16:41Did I pull your wig?
16:42Did I push you off the stage?
16:43I think what happened was...
16:44I think what happened was that you were getting frustrated that I was kicking your ass under the match.
16:46Jade, you crossed the line.
16:47You put your hands on me, sweetie.
16:49I'm going to say something right now.
16:49I'm glad I left on episode number two.
16:52But look, but look, but look, but look, but look, but look, but look.
16:54I think at this point, enough is enough.
16:56I don't want to be slandered.
16:57I am apologizing.
16:58I hope you accept my apology.
16:59And from this point, I think we should just move on and turn the negative into a positive.
17:03If you honestly are apologizing and you're being woman enough to, I can totally forgive and forget.
17:09But as if I can trust her, no.
17:11If I am so horrible and I'm such a bitch, why would I give you my brand new green contacts?
17:15So you can say you did.
17:16No, Jade.
17:17Kept telling people.
17:18Seriously, horrible people don't go out of their way to be nice to people.
17:21After the show finished and for the last several months, I had a lot of very negative thoughts about you.
17:27Then you would have made a comment to me that anybody who has to wear that much, you know, jewelry
17:32or costuming or whatever is trying to make up for a lack of talent.
17:35Sweetie, let me tell you, I do 39 character illusions.
17:38I have headlined in Vegas.
17:40I've traveled the United States.
17:41I have been there, done that, and I have the T-shirt.
17:43However, I believe that you were fed to believe that you were nothing more than a beautiful Barbie doll and
17:48that your shit don't stink and that no matter what you do, you were going to do no wrong.
17:52All right, ladies, hold on.
17:54Coming up, we'll be joined by Nina Flowers and the next drag superstar.
17:59This next queen is a fierce flower.
18:02Let's welcome back Miss Nina Loka.
18:09Extra Vagons Up.
18:12Woo.
18:14Burn, baby, burn.
18:18Darling.
18:20I love it.
18:22Welcome back.
18:23Hi, girls.
18:25Here she is, America's next drag superstar.
18:30Let's welcome back the champion of RuPaul's Drag Race, Bebe Zahara Bonet.
18:35Woo.
18:38Cameroon.
18:38Cameroon.
18:47Cameroon.
18:47Hi, Bobby.
18:48Darling.
18:49Hi, Bobby.
18:50Darling.
18:51Mwah, mwah.
18:52Wonderful.
18:56Welcome, welcome, welcome.
18:58Now, of course, the music that you walked out to is champion, inspired by all of you.
19:03My new album available on iTunes.
19:06Nina's here.
19:07Bebe's here.
19:08Nina.
19:09Now, you didn't win.
19:10Came very close.
19:11How did you handle the judge's decision?
19:14Losing to this wonderful human being, a great performer.
19:18It was an honor.
19:19I know that she put 110% during the whole race.
19:23I knew the title was going to be Carry On With Dignity.
19:26What was going through your mind when you were standing on that stage with Bebe?
19:30I was very nervous.
19:32It never crossed my mind that it was going to be just down to the bottom two girls to perform.
19:37Well, you weren't in the bottom two.
19:38You were in the top two.
19:41That's right.
19:41Unless you're trying to tell us something.
19:43No.
19:44No, not at all.
19:45I meant top two.
19:46You're right.
19:47What's the most difficult challenge for you?
19:48Oh, my God.
19:49That challenge, that opera challenge.
19:51Yeah.
19:51Oh, my God.
19:53With the H-I...
19:55With the H-I...
19:56H-I...
19:58H...
19:59You have HIV?
20:00No, no, no.
20:01That was terrible, but that was really fun.
20:04What about the reaction when you got back home and people talked about your performance on the show?
20:09Well, actually, everybody back home in the city where I live in Denver, they thought I was going to win
20:16the competition.
20:17Because we had parties at the club where I work at.
20:20I would always talk on the microphone and I would always say, who do you think is going to win
20:24and all that?
20:25What about Puerto Rico?
20:26Does it show there?
20:27Oh, yes.
20:27Everybody's watching the show there.
20:29They're actually...
20:30They're having a drag competition at a bar there and they're adding a category that is going to be the
20:35lookalike of Nina Flowers.
20:37Which is very exciting.
20:38What a great honor.
20:39They're so proud of me.
20:40I'm sorry that Nina didn't win, but she is our queen always.
20:45But there's, of course, Bebe.
20:47Hey, Bebe, honey.
20:48Hi, honey.
20:49How does it feel to be the champion?
20:52It's still on radio.
20:54I can't even believe that it finally happened because growing up, it was just like a dream to be able
21:00to overcome everything I went through.
21:03And to prove to myself, most importantly, that I could be whatever I decided I wanted to be.
21:09How old were you when you knew that you were coming to this country?
21:13About 21.
21:15And then when did you start doing drag?
21:16At the airport.
21:18As soon as I landed.
21:21Yeah, as soon as I landed, yeah.
21:23So I started, yeah, in the United States.
21:24Growing up, I've never seen a man do this for a living.
21:27In Africa.
21:28In Africa.
21:29And so now there's going to be a lot of controversy, you know, what really makes a strong man.
21:34You've heard from people from Cameroon.
21:36What's been their reaction?
21:37What's amazing is that, like, the women are very, very positive and encouraging, but the men at the same time
21:44are like, no, that's not what an African man is all about.
21:47Somebody sent a message that, oh, if you're in Africa, we will burn you alive.
21:51What?
21:51Yeah, but an African woman went to my website and she sent me such a long email about how much
21:58I have empowered her because we create our images from inspiration from women.
22:03And that's something which is very bold and something which is very strong and how that she can be able
22:07to stand and look at herself in the mirror and just say, yes, I am beautiful.
22:10And so that really makes me feel I'm doing something right and, most importantly, doing it for myself.
22:15Right on, right on.
22:16Was there a time when you thought you would be sashaying away?
22:18When I was in bottom two, all I could do was, like, just hope not to be the one to
22:22sashay away because, obviously, I wanted to win.
22:24She's lucky I left my knife in the dressing room.
22:26Oh, did you?
22:27Yeah.
22:27Did you?
22:28Yeah.
22:29I don't have any place to put it.
22:31I love you.
22:34I mean, I can put it under my wig.
22:36All right, Bibi, well, let me ask you this.
22:37Okay, go ahead.
22:38What do you think about Rebecca making the top three?
22:40I was surprised, but at the same time, I was not surprised.
22:44So if I can see half and half.
22:46Of all you girls with a show of hands, who believes that Rebecca should not have been in the top
22:51three?
22:52Show of hands.
22:55Sort of, I can't count, but I think that was half.
22:58I was a little overwhelmed when Jade got eliminated.
23:04That was a challenge that I didn't agree with.
23:06I thought that Jade had nailed it every single part of the challenge.
23:10I think that's why I was so upset, and I don't like to get like that, and like, when I
23:14saw my confessional at the end, Rebecca is the fakest bitch I've ever met in my life.
23:19I didn't like what I saw, and I'm glad that we're all here because so many things have been lifted
23:25off us.
23:26Yeah, there's closure, which is interesting.
23:28And she was the missing link from all these girls.
23:30I have been so close to all of them, and it hurt that with her, I couldn't, and I didn't
23:34even understand why.
23:35And now that, you know, that we're able to speak, you know, and I thank you, and I apologize, and
23:39I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
23:40I'm really, thank you.
23:41Thank you for what you, you know, thank you.
23:47Gorgeous.
23:48Okay, ladies.
23:48We asked viewers to go to RuPaul'sDragRace.com with their questions for you, and honey, my box was stuffed.
23:57Okay, ladies.
23:58This is Jeff from Denver.
24:00Akasha, I think you're so pretty, but sometimes your drag comes off like a day shift hooker.
24:06Have you thought of upgrading your look?
24:08You guys just saw me in my pretty much $20 handjob dress that I made out of, I made from
24:13scratch.
24:14But yeah, I have many looks.
24:16I do punk rock with mohawks and crazy stuff and glamour with dresses and rhinestones.
24:21All right, now this next question is for Rebecca.
24:23Constance in New York City.
24:25I thought your Viva Glam screen test was really powerful.
24:28How is your friend who is suffering from HIV doing?
24:31Well, you know, it's really weird because me and my friend are very estranged from each other.
24:36It's sad because he doesn't really take care of himself, and he's really alienated himself from all his friends.
24:42And it's just kind of, it's hard.
24:44It's hard.
24:44I mean, I just wanted him to know that I love him and that I don't care.
24:48I just, I want my friend back, and I'm 100% here for him.
24:53Okay, now this is from Kelly from New Hampshire for Chanel.
24:57When you were lip syncing for your life, it looked like you did a little jump right before your headpiece
25:02popped off.
25:03Was that intentional?
25:04What happened?
25:04In all honesty, yes.
25:06It was completely intentional.
25:08I had just been told that I had not shown any vulnerability, and I figured that the only way for
25:14me to show any level of vulnerability
25:15to perform a song like that in an outfit like that would be to just let it go.
25:20Just the reaction of it going in slow motion really worked well, because I don't think anybody believed that I
25:25intentionally meant to do it.
25:26Well, the player got played because this is the first time I realized that that was...
25:29And I would have never told you that.
25:30Well, it worked because it's quite a dramatic moment on the show.
25:33Victoria, there's an email from JJ.
25:36What advice do you have for your full-bodied queens like me just getting started?
25:42You know, I've gotten hundreds of emails and comments on my MySpace from young impersonators
25:47and just people who are overweight in general who say that I've inspired them to get out of the house
25:52or do something they didn't think they could do.
25:53And for someone who wants to start female impersonation, if you're big, it's okay.
25:57Take advantage of what you have and hide what you need to.
26:00If you've got a beautiful breast, wear something to show your breast.
26:03If you've got a beautiful face, show something that focuses on your face.
26:06Cover up what you need to and showcase what you have, because when you do that,
26:09people are going to focus on the positive and not the negative.
26:12Yeah, well, that's true for not only drag queens, but for anybody who wants to.
26:15Anyone in general.
26:16Okay, this is for Angina.
26:18Diane from Chicago.
26:20Angina, how did it feel coming from the biggest win to lip syncing for your life?
26:25Oh, I wanted to slap you into pieces.
26:30With my pop.
26:31No, you know what?
26:33It was a competition.
26:34I was lucky enough to have won Viva Glam.
26:37So it doesn't matter that I went home that day.
26:38I was really happy.
26:40Well, you may be the Jennifer Hudson of this competition.
26:42Well, maybe.
26:43I can belch like she does, but hell, she'll try.
26:47All right, this is for Nina.
26:49This is Victor from Tallahassee, Florida.
26:51Nina, you are incredibly fierce.
26:54What made you take the androgynous route instead of the fish route?
26:58I kind of like, I like to play with the gender factor.
27:03And my biggest inspiration back in the 80s were Boy George, Pete Burns from They're Alive,
27:09Annie Lennons, and those artists, they had that same role.
27:13I think that's what has set me apart from having a different style of drag.
27:18Gorgeous.
27:19Okay, my name is Jeffrey, and I live in a closeted area of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
27:23And it's not safe for people like me to be out there.
27:27What's it like in cities where people welcome you with open arms and celebrate your art?
27:31I'm a former Miss Knoxville, Tennessee.
27:33I won Miss Knoxville back in the early 90s.
27:35And Knoxville has a huge community, and all he has to do is drive 30 minutes down the road,
27:40and he'll find his home.
27:41So I say get out, find your people, and if you have to move to where you feel comfortable,
27:46then move because there's a great gay movement in Tennessee.
27:48So go to Knoxville.
27:49Get out, see your family, and you'll feel comfortable with yourself.
27:52Yeah, you know, shows like this really do help people understand that there are people out there for them.
27:57Yeah.
27:57And there's a place for them.
27:58All right.
27:59Now this is for Chanel.
28:00Stacy from Madison, Wisconsin.
28:02Which came first, wearing heels or juggling?
28:05Juggling.
28:06Juggling?
28:06My kindergarten teacher taught me how to juggle chalkboard erasers when we'd go out for recess.
28:12I wouldn't play with the other kids because I was very insecure, and I actually, my whole growing up,
28:16I really never had friends.
28:17Like, my parents had to push me to get out of the house, and so I was always the oddball
28:21out.
28:21I would draw and paint, and I would juggle, and so she taught me with chalkboard erasers,
28:27and then my parents would get mad because they'd come home, and I was juggling wine glasses and apples,
28:31and there would be applesauce all over the floor and broken glass all over the floors.
28:35Carrie from Winnipeg, Canada.
28:37Girls, how do you reduce razor bumps or stubble?
28:41When they find out, let me know.
28:43Chanel?
28:43I use a shaving cream that has benzocaine in it, which is obviously a numbing agent for the skin.
28:49Believe it or not, I am extremely hairy.
28:51I shave my body every which direction possible.
28:55Even your junky trunk?
28:57Because your butt is so beautiful and smooth, do you have to shave that?
29:01Yeah, actually, I shave my ass probably every other day.
29:04Wow.
29:05Well, thank you, ladies.
29:08Please welcome Merle Ginsberg and Santino.
29:11Woo!
29:12Okay, Merle, my dear.
29:14Now, as the only full-time biological woman on our show, did you know what you were getting yourself into?
29:20What I wasn't prepared for was the way it would really affect my idea of femininity.
29:26I came away from the show thinking, what really is femininity?
29:29And when you see men studying women and then invoking what they think femininity is,
29:35it was really interesting to see who had a kind of softness and warmth that made me realize that's what
29:40femininity is all about.
29:42Now, Santino, did you spot any fashion trends in our show that were emerging?
29:48Well, as a fashion designer, I'm not ever looking at trends per se, but I am looking for beauty constantly.
29:54And I recognize it in a very contemporary way with someone like Angina who definitely studies fashion.
30:01And then Nina Flowers, you know, brings this otherworldly creativity.
30:06You've brought some things out into popular culture that people are going to be definitely appropriating.
30:13And as much as, like, I've given everyone criticism, I believe that I really, you know, cheered everyone on at
30:20the same time.
30:22You know what?
30:22I'm the only one here who's been on both sides of the table.
30:25You were on Project Runway and now you're a judge.
30:27I've been judged hard, you know, and I know what it is to direct my anger at the judges.
30:32But I also know that the key to getting through this whole experience is not letting the criticisms bother you.
30:39Very good point. Very good point.
30:40We're going to turn the tables now.
30:43We'll start with Chanel.
30:44Do you have something to say to the judges?
30:49Just a few things to say?
30:52Now, if anything would make me look like a bitch on this show, this would be it.
30:56Santino.
30:59You are the reason I left the show.
31:01Week after week, you gave me such horrible critiques.
31:06When I walked down the runway and I juggled, that was amazing.
31:12I am a Las Vegas entertainer.
31:14I am a character illusionist.
31:16I do juggle.
31:17I do stilts.
31:18I do tightrope.
31:19I do lots and lots and lots of different things.
31:21Instead of taking each of us individually, you seemed to take me and you wanted to negatively critique me because
31:29I just kind of wasn't the look of what you wanted.
31:31And you made me feel like absolute shit.
31:35Santino was brought to the show to share his opinion and you were brought to the show because you're a
31:39star and we wanted you on the show.
31:40I think as an entertainer, amazing.
31:43As far as your style, I think it's lacking.
31:49Either you're born with style or you're not.
31:51A paper bag dressed up with loofahs, that makes a bigger impact than a fully Swarovski crystal gown that just
32:00isn't right.
32:02I completely disagree with everything you just said.
32:04I know.
32:04I know you do.
32:05I know.
32:05Because you know what?
32:06I sit here a lot more underdressed and I look absolutely gorgeous.
32:10And my style is fantastic.
32:11But I just think the top is cheap.
32:13I think the pants are wrong.
32:15$550 pants?
32:16You paid too much.
32:17You paid too much.
32:18I don't think that's not...
32:18Well, and you did for that outfit too.
32:20I have nothing more to save you.
32:21I'm done.
32:21No, I'm done.
32:22I'm done.
32:22Baby, I don't want you to take...
32:24Don't take it personally.
32:25It's just his opinion.
32:25I've learned this long ago.
32:27What other people think of me is none of my business.
32:30But I'm going to say you are beautiful.
32:33You are the reason you're here.
32:35Can I hug you right now?
32:36This is a hug moment right now because I want you to know you are here because you are so
32:41beautiful.
32:41Fabulous.
32:42Please don't forget that.
32:43Please, would you hug her too?
32:46No.
32:47You know what, Chanel?
32:48I know that I spoke highly about you.
32:51Fucking sick makeup.
32:52Fierce body.
32:53Drag queens for me make the world go round.
32:55Creative people who are saying, I'm going to do my own thing and inspire other people to do that.
33:00And I think you do that.
33:02I think you do it on a daily basis.
33:03So, Chanel, no hug from you?
33:06No hug.
33:06Maybe.
33:07I think I'm hearing you say something negative about me.
33:11being in a pantsuit affected me no matter how many good things you said because it's negative.
33:17That's the business on China.
33:18Exactly.
33:18That's fine.
33:19It's individual.
33:19You're absolutely right.
33:19But in the context of a competition show, judge, competitor.
33:23I don't think I got any positive criticism from Santino, but I don't hate him.
33:27That was his opinion.
33:28I don't give a fuck what he thinks.
33:30Honestly, he didn't win his competition.
33:32Akasha, do we remember who won his competition?
33:34I don't.
33:35No.
33:35But I have no problem with him whatsoever.
33:38You don't have a problem?
33:38Would you take a hug from him?
33:40Yes.
33:40Okay.
33:41Come on down here.
33:44Hug it out.
33:45Yes.
33:48Listen, think of drag.
33:49It's not easy.
33:50It's not easy.
33:51It's almost an act of treason in a male-dominated society.
33:53So, we're going to be up against a lot of criticism.
33:56Well, why feed into that negativity, though?
33:58Why do we have to constantly feed into that negativity?
34:00It's there.
34:00There's not going to have an experience.
34:01Why do we have to be the negative assholes?
34:04Why can't we be the Pollyanna?
34:05Because it's a competitive television show, and there are polar opposites.
34:09And they wouldn't have the highs and lows if it wasn't there.
34:11If we all just said, you're fabulous, you're fabulous, you're fabulous.
34:14You're amazing, you're amazing, amazing.
34:15There's nothing to it.
34:16Because I am amazing.
34:17You are amazing.
34:18You are amazing.
34:18That's why you're here.
34:19But we don't even feel so much negativity.
34:20Because you forgot it.
34:21Forgot what?
34:21It's not because you forgot that you were amazing.
34:23If you take on someone else's negativity, it's because, goddammit, you forgot it.
34:26It's not my responsibility to make you feel good all the time.
34:29Yes, you both call me losers.
34:30And I don't see you out there walking children in nature.
34:32I never call you a loser.
34:33You're not a loser.
34:34That's why you're here today.
34:36You forgot who you are.
34:37I know I'm here today, but I'm just telling you how it is.
34:39You forgot who you are.
34:41You forgot, Tammy.
34:43You forgot you're fabulous.
34:44Don't blame me for that.
34:45That's your fucking responsibility.
34:47Use your mouth.
34:49And it's the same for all of you.
34:51The fact that you're here is because you're goddamn stars.
34:53How many fucking times do we have to put that in your head?
34:56You're a fucking star.
34:57Don't let anybody tell you that you're not.
34:59Goddammit, if I had a nickel for every time somebody said to me, you can't become a star
35:02as a drag queen.
35:03I'd have a fucking million, billion dollars.
35:05I know what I am.
35:06I don't forget who I am.
35:08And that's the truth for all of you.
35:09Never forget.
35:10Everybody's going to tell you.
35:11No, you can't do it.
35:11You can't do it.
35:12No, you can't do it.
35:12Because they're projecting their negativity onto you.
35:14Now, we can't tell you that because you won't believe it.
35:17You have to earn it.
35:18You have to own it yourself.
35:19I'm telling you now so we can end this conversation.
35:20You have to own it yourself, Dorothy.
35:23Why don't you tell me all we had to do is click our heels three times?
35:24Because, Goddammit, you wouldn't have believed me.
35:26And that's why you're here.
35:27You're in this competition so that you own it.
35:30You own it so that you process it.
35:31Oh, they're saying bad things about me.
35:33Own it.
35:34Own it.
35:34And you get to understand that, oh, that wasn't me.
35:37That was their shit.
35:39That had nothing to do with me.
35:41That was them.
35:42And then you own it.
35:44Then you go, oh.
35:45And you know what?
35:46Every time that happens to you in life, the time it takes for you to catch yourself gets
35:50shorter.
