12:56I think the more I cover of Jimbo, the more someone else can come through.
13:01I started performance and drag in a vaudeville troupe doing sketch comedy
13:05and then trained as a clown and then as a drag clown.
13:08And so I have a lot of experience about being in front of an audience.
13:12I'm really looking forward to the pageant tonight.

29:02She's been doing drag since like the 50s when you had to wear male clothing under your drag.
29:07She used to go to like little buttfuck nowhere towns and like in drag.

29:11She paved the way for all of us really.
29:13She's fought for drag rights and without people like her,
29:17this art form of drag would not be as acceptable as it is today.
29:20We owe so much to her and people like her and people that she was standing beside.
29:24I think our generation and the one after, we have to take the time to get to know our elder
29:30because they are the one who paved the way and the real trailblazer, it's not us, it's them.
29:36They're the ones that gave us the rights and the freedom to be our openly queer selves.
29:41So we have to make sure that we're always giving thanks and a good nod to these queens because

29:51Does anyone have someone who was a queer elder to them that inspired them with their drag?
29:56When I first started, it was Lady Bunny. It was the first time that I was able to see a
30:01larger queen.
30:02So I was like, oh, it's not only for, you know, skinny legends.
30:06When I first started to do drag, I was really bigger, but I did embrace the fact that I was
30:10bigger
30:10and I was performing in undies and the crowd loved it.
30:15I think it's one of the main reasons I became someone in Montreal because I was fearless.
30:19It's all about having confidence.
30:20While we're on the topic of body, it did come up on the runway last week, Lemon.
30:24It's always hard for me to be the one to complain about this because I know that
30:27a lot of people would die to have the body that I have.
30:30But you have two worlds combining to make you feel like shit about your body,
30:34of the dance world and the drag world.
30:35Yeah, truly. And like the dance world is literally just like,
30:37you stand staring at yourself in a mirror that spans a full wall for 12 hours a day
30:42and all you do is correct what's wrong.
30:44I spent my entire childhood obsessed with what I looked like.
30:51And it felt sometimes that everyone was obsessed with it.
30:54It's always been, you don't have the body of a male dancer,
30:57you don't have a raging six pack, you don't have big enough biceps,
31:00you don't have this, you don't have that.
31:02There's no right or wrong bodies can be as different as you are
31:05because we're all different at the end of the day.
31:07We should just embrace our uniqueness.
31:09I've worked so hard to love the skin that I'm in.
31:13I think you can serve 101 different silhouettes and 101 different shapes
31:17and still be beautiful and powerful.
31:20No matter what size you are or what color you are,
31:23that's what makes you unique.
31:25So you have to live with it and be fearless.
