00:00Seven-game homestand begins tonight,
00:04and you're getting to the point where you need a real turnaround here.
00:08You had a question that, before we get to Hill Notes,
00:12a question about the Red Sox has been bothering you of late.
00:14Well, you know, I know a lot of people didn't totally agree
00:17with the take that I had the other day about,
00:20hey, Jaron Duran had this instance where he flips the bird at the Minnesota fans,
00:24and nobody should say what was said to him,
00:27but he's kind of in this feedback loop of he can't ignore the noise,
00:32and then it comes back to him, and it's kind of never-ending.
00:36And as this season goes on, it's such an obvious miss by the front office
00:42that they didn't take advantage of the opportunity last year
00:46when he was at his highest highs baseball-wise to get something back for him.
00:54Like, now he's batting 167.
00:57I know it's early in the season, but you got this outfield log jam.
01:02He just flipped off his phone.
01:04We just talked so much about the front office
01:08and the people that they do move on from,
01:11and this just looks like just as big a mistake in my opinion.
01:16It should have been done at the trade deadline of last year.
01:18Forget about over the offseason.
01:20We were talking about it at the trade deadline.
01:22I mean, when was the Roman Anthony injury?
01:26Was that past trade deadline time?
01:29Yeah, that was past trade deadline time.
01:30And I think-
01:31I mean, certainly offseason, I don't know why.
01:34I think you're spot on.
01:36I don't know why Bresbott went into this season with that many outfielders
01:40when he got a guy that they would be interested in, certainly.
01:43Right.
01:43And you also have the issue that we've talked about a lot with Roman Anthony
01:47and not being able to be an everyday player
01:51and get the benefit that comes with that.
01:54Mm-hmm.
01:55Figuring out Yoshida, add that to the issue.
01:58Like, I just don't-
01:59Maybe the bot thought Roman Anthony wasn't ready for the field.
02:03That's why he kept Durant around.
02:07I don't know.
02:08I remember at the time-
02:08I mean, there's like-
02:09You know, he's had a handful of errors out there.
02:12So maybe the bot, they knew, like, all right, he's great at the plate,
02:17but he's going to need some time in the field.
02:19And, you know, maybe we don't want to give away Durant just yet
02:25until we know that Anthony is ready to go every day as a fielder.
02:32I don't know.
02:33I think it felt so obvious in the moment.
02:35And I remember because he was playing so well at the trade deadline,
02:38there was a big group of fans who were like,
02:41no, he's a fan favorite.
02:43He's the Wally head guy.
02:44You can't move on from him.
02:46And it just looks like such a massive miss to me
02:50when you look at the roster now.
02:51And unfortunately, the way the season's going and his-
02:54But is left field harder to play than right field?
02:57At Fenway?
02:58Just in general overall, but even at Fenway.
03:01At Fenway, no.
03:01Okay.
03:01Left field's easy.
03:02That's why they had Manny out there.
03:04You just got to play the wall once you figure that out.
03:06Right field at Fenway may be the toughest right field in baseball.
03:08Okay.
03:08Yeah, I think right field in general is just harder.
03:10Oh, okay.
03:11All right.
03:12Which is odd because I think when you were young-
03:15More balls went to left field, right?
03:17Yeah, because kids normally just pull the ball.
03:19But there's also way more lefty hitters in the-
