Queensland's largest car and bike festival has kicked off in the beef capital. Rockynats will be held across three days, with tens of thousands of revheads expected to attend.

00:02It's said to be the biggest street parade in all of Australia.
00:07Vehicles of all makes and models revved and roared along Rockhampton's iconic heritage-listed
00:12Key Street, next to the mighty Fitzroy River.
00:14More than 1900 people have entered this year's event, with today's street parade one of the
00:19highlights.
00:20Groups of all ages line the footpaths to wave, as old school sedans, sports car brands, four-wheel
00:26drives and even some of the two-wheel kind bikes pass by.

00:54The very best of the entrants have been selected to go in the Show and Shine, a display where
00:59festival goers can go admire their handiwork and restorations and experts will judge them
01:04on paint and body modifications, engine performance upgrades, custom interiors and more.
01:10Across the city, precincts have been set up for the three-day event with burnouts, drags,
01:15remote control car racing, drifting and even old track entertainment with live music,
01:20a mullet competition and a rockabilly fashion parade.
01:23Last year's event attracted 60,000 people.
