00:02Here at Rocky Nights, we're well into the second day, right behind me is the drifting.
00:07That is when the driver intentionally causes the vehicle to oversteer and they lose traction.
00:12Across town, precincts have been set up.
00:15There's the burnouts, that'll be going well into the night.
00:18There's also the show and shine display.
00:20Over the showgrounds, there's plenty of things to look at.
00:23Lots of off-grid entertainment, things like the mullet competition,
00:26tattoo competition, rockabilly fashion parade.
00:29And then tomorrow, even more competitions.
00:31There'll be more qualifying rounds before it all wraps up.
00:34Thousands of people have turned out for the event.
00:37High fuel prices haven't seemed to really deter many people at all.
00:40Some people might have paid top dollar in fuel, but for them,
00:43they'd already booked their tickets and they love to come every year.
00:46This year is the sixth year.
00:48It's looking like they are going to break last year's ticket sales.
00:51Last year, there was around 60,000 spectators, it turned out.
00:54They're already looking to beat that now.
00:57It injected about $8.1 million to the local economy
01:00and then $13 million to the state as well.
01:03Those figures are yet to come in for how much impact it has on this year,
01:07but it's looking like it'll beat last year.
01:09So, thank you all.
01:10Thanks so much for watching.
01:12Thanks, Mr. K
