Queenslanders dress up to celebrate Melbourne Cup from afar

While thousands gathered in Flemington to watch the $8 million race, Queenslanders revelled in the racing fun, but in their own special way. From the far north through to the border, spectators showed off their unique glitz and glam.

00:30 It's a bit of a dry heat so a bit of evaporative cooling kind of keeps us cool and comfortable for the day.
