00:10Penang Fire and Rescue Department Director Mohammad Shoki Hamza said the victims have
00:15been identified as 88-year-old former lawyer Datuk San Markan Ganapathy and 60-year-old
00:22clerk Chandra Binwani Jiwatram.
00:24He said San Markan was found seated near a window at about 1.05 p.m.
00:31The second victim, Chandra, was later discovered near a wall beneath a pile of files at 3.32
00:38p.m.
00:39He said, thick smoke, believed to have been intensified by large amounts of paper files
00:45inside the building, may have contributed to the deaths.
00:48However, the cause will be confirmed by forensic authorities.
00:52The bodies have been sent to Penang Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
