Hamzah Zainudin's mother-in-law dies in house fire

The mother-in-law of Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin was killed in a house fire at Kampung Sungai Rapat near Ipoh on Thursday (June 19) night.  Perak Fire and Rescue department director Sayani Saidon said the victim, 84-year-old Salmiah Nyak Matt, was found unconscious in a room on the ground floor of the double-storey house. 00:34The victim's husband, 83-year-old Abdul Ganinga, suffered breathing difficulties and was taken

00:40to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment.

00:44Four other victims, aged between 18 and 49, were also rescued from the room and did not

00:49sustain any injuries.

00:51Meanwhile, Ipoh Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said that further investigations

00:58were being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
