Jobless man charged with murder of elderly Kampung Koh resident

00:23at a house in Kampung Ko between 3.40 and 4.44 in the morning on November 26.

00:30The elderly victim was found dead in a pool of blood in his living room,

00:34suspected to have been murdered with a hoe.

00:37The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty

00:42or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years with whipping.

00:45No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

00:50Bail was not offered and the accused was unrepresented.

00:54Case mention has been set for February 10th to allow for document submission.

00:59In separate proceedings, Lin was sentenced to seven months in jail

01:02after pleading guilty to consuming amphetamine and methamphetamine

01:06at the Manjung Police Headquarters in February.
