00:13MUAR OCPD Assistant Commissioner Rais Muklis Azman Aziz announced that the case has been
00:20reclassified from a sudden death report to murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
00:26The reclassification follows evidence of criminal intent found during the investigation and
00:31in the post-mortem report on the three victims.
00:34In a statement on Saturday, ACP Rais Muklis also revealed that the case is now being investigated
00:40under Section 436 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire and Section 326 for voluntarily causing
00:48grievous harm.
00:49The suspect, identified as Azman Mohamed Noor, is the son of the elderly couple and lived
00:54in the same house as the victims.
00:57Authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the MUAR IPD
01:02hotline at 069-564-800 or the nearest police station.
01:08The fire, which occurred on Friday at 1.30am, claimed the lives of 82-year-old Mohamed Noor
01:14Mohamed Yassin, 76-year-old Ara Abdul Hamid, and 11-year-old Nooradriana Noor Hisyam.
01:21A 14-year-old girl, who was also in the house when the fire occurred, suffered a head injury
01:26and is being treated at the Sultana Fatima Specialist Hospital.
