00:02so you work with your father you get out of the situation with this manager your career
00:07really starts taking off and then you start collaborating with some major artists and your
00:13album manana sera bonito it broke so many records it's crazy how were you feeling emotionally when
00:22your career really just started to take off you know what like uh even we did this stadium tour
00:29with manana sera bonito and right now i have the same stadiums as a bucket list for my next tour
00:35it's crazy because it's you leave it and your brain is like kind of not ready for it it it
00:44it didn't
00:44happen to me you know i don't know but now i still have like the same places that i just
00:50went and i
00:51have it in my bucket list i want to be there and i want to i don't know but when
00:55you're on station
00:55you see all that amount of people that they made these crazy efforts to pay the ticket and
01:02everything it's kind of like your brain is not ready for it yeah and i wasn't ready for that album
01:07and
01:07for that too at that time and because that obviously that album changed your life and i know it was
01:12really inspired by your own relationship how did it feel to share those emotions and experiences with
01:20your fans ah i think they were part of the rebellion uh of course they started like being just feelings
01:28that then it was part of the rebellion and my only way to speak was about like through my music
01:34and i always said like uh carol g is a really good artist and a really good uh musician but
01:42i
01:43heartbreak it like heartbroken carol g girl get ready that's that's something crazy because like
01:53that's when i like my superpower comes out like i'm gonna write some bangers get ready get ready
02:01and the world was like okay yeah these are bangers i mean i i think about that album and i
02:06know like
02:07i've been in unhealthy relationships i think probably everyone listening has but when you get out of it and
02:12you have that clarity you're like how did i not see that but there's so much that goes into
02:18relationships that again it's like even if there's a bad moment then it's met with a good moment and
02:23then you remember the good and then it happens again it's like i think i don't know if you have
02:27but like have you ever made excuses for a partner's behavior yeah of course like you romanticize everything
02:33and and and that's how brain works because the our body hates pain so we all our brain is going
02:40to
02:40be like oh yeah this is bad but remember when he was nice this time and you're like yeah maybe
02:47it's
02:47not that bad but then you spend like a lot of time like you know doing negotiations with your brain
02:54and then no it's like it's it's i know exactly have you ever been in a situation where
03:01you look back and you really realize like oh i started to lose myself in that relationship and
03:07what did that look like for you no that happens a lot to me and actually uh i need to
03:13work that on me
03:14because if not i'm gonna fail every relationship now i know that because uh when you start like
03:20having a relationship with a person you need from the beginning to set things that they're like this
03:29you know you have your life you have your life you do things this way you do things this way
03:36it's two
03:37people that complements each other but when you start like changing for the other person just to make
03:44the other one feel better feel comfortable like you start like sharing more time with their friends
03:51doing their stuff doing their thing in their times in their like routine that's when you lose
03:57yourself and now you don't find yourself anymore in that specific so you don't love yourself
04:03and you don't you're not able to love the other person and and everything is still like if you're
04:10holding the relationship because of that then when it breaks everything breaks you know so i need to
04:17work that on me i need to be more like this is how i do things i know you're doing
04:23exactly set the
04:24boundaries exactly so from the beginning you start like doing things because you know you're in the
04:28right like the most amazing moment situation and you just want the other people to feel
04:33happy comfortable and everything and you start like doing things because of that and they become
04:38habits you know they become habits and with the time they become like stronger and strong and then
04:43you don't know how to be out of right you've done it for so long that even if you try
04:48to change it
04:49they've gotten used to you putting up with it and then by the time you try to change it it's
04:53too late
04:54yeah girl yeah you're i feel you i feel you hard on that i think all of us all of
05:00us are like and
05:01yes yes yeah so i need to buy my love is that a word yeah i need to learn how
05:08to defy a love that
05:10keeps going out but it stills coming in because are you a romantic
05:15the most corny romantic girl and i love details and when i say details i'm not talking about like
05:21presents i love details i love that you find a little note i love that you find a little thing
05:26here right there i love to i i've done graffitis on the wall for a man for a man like
05:35girl taking time
05:36like long night with my friends doing something and the next day sending a picture and find it because
05:42it's for you like girl like no that's romantic yeah but then they're like treating you like
05:49you don't deserve me i love corny songs and i love i don't know yeah i'm stuck in time do
05:56you write
05:56songs for guys that you love of course and perform them to them of course yeah you know what i
06:03did once
06:04i just did a song i recorded in a cassette i let the the little cassette player i don't know
06:12how to
06:12the player with the cassette inside and i left the house we don't know like listen to this for you
06:18did he text you and say i'm madly in love with you yeah of course yeah that was cute that
06:24was cute
06:24um okay your song tqg has become such an empowering breakup anthem for so many women
06:31how did that collaboration with shakira come to be okay um she was having this specific moment in her
06:39life uh and i had this song that i wrote in a specific moment kind of in the same moment
06:44of my
06:44life and i just noticed in her interviews and everything that she was speaking about like a
06:52feeling that represented the song so i had the song and i didn't have communication with her but i
06:58just um got her contact sent her the song explain her a little bit why i felt that she could
07:05be like
07:06a part of the song and then she loved it i think we had like amazing like conversations before like
07:13to
07:13shoot the video and everything and and i think that that's why the song became like so big it was
07:19like really genuine about like how she was feeling and how i was feeling when i like when i did
07:24the
07:24song so did it was amazing it worked yeah the song talks about an ex coming back when they see
07:30you
07:30doing better which is so annoying and so relatable when this happens to you carol how do you respond
07:40with a multi-million selling album and tour about what you and how you made me feel
07:54yeah like that mic drop oh watch me make some money and just like live out my dreams now
08:03yeah that's how you respond that's how and do you respond to them ever no no that's your response
08:10you know like how i am i'm like when i i'm done i'm done like there's not a no there's
08:16not a door
08:17not even a window not even a nothing there's not nothing there's i'm done it's like a uh you you
08:24have
08:24to notice that i'm trying too hard to put this together because when i don't do it i don't do
08:31it
08:31anymore you're done i'm done and that takes confidence i feel like we can't talk about
08:35confidence without talking about bichota for anyone who isn't familiar can you please explain what it
08:41means to be a bichota uh you know it's still like we have this specific word in spanish un capo
08:48we say
08:48un capo to um a person that is really good at something like for example messi is un capo you
08:56know
08:56always say like that it's like kind of he's a bichote uh and it's the same meaning is for they
09:02used to use it for a narco person but it became like a a heavy word that represents like a
09:08heavy
09:08personality so i loved that for bichota and now there is bichotas and bichotas all over the world
09:14just super powerful and running their thing and yeah you are such a confident person which i think
09:22people love so much you even have a tattoo of yourself what inspired this the three people that
09:31i admire the most in my life and it's always been the same and even like knowing and meeting different
09:37people is still the same and it's uh rihanna selena quintanilla and carolina that it's me and and
09:46and actually people i know they understand like uh they can feel that it's really weird because uh
09:52it's kind of uh i don't know like uh it's hard to say that you have a tattoo of yourself
10:00in your body but for me it's kind of i'm the only one that knows how hard has been like
10:08for me in
10:09different situation like if there's someone that i admire a lot it's myself it's kind of i just sit
10:16down sometimes and i say like wow i don't know how i did this i don't know how i passed
10:20through this
10:21i don't know how i'm here and actually i keep just repeating that to myself my last year was a
10:28really
10:28hard crazy year so i really admire like who i've become because i'm still like i'm not confident
10:39inspiration like a lot of times uh but there's these lucid moments that i have that made me remember
10:46how everything how hard has been so i have myself here i have selena quintanilla she's like
10:51my most biggest inspiration in the world her personality her spirit her music she is the
11:01see if there's something that represents latina girl
11:05is selena quintanilla and then it's rihanna rihanna she's my baby she is my baby she's like
11:11this smart brilliant strong person that i really want to remember in every situation i always say
11:19like okay what would rihanna do okay so let's think about it in this situation like because she's a
11:26she's a bitch she doesn't care she's like everything's fucking fuck up for her so i i really
11:31want to have that she has been like she has done everything she want in her life she has become
11:37like
11:37a business girl like a mom very dedicated and lovely mom and she has done everything as a girl as
11:47a
11:47women women like everything so i'm ready have you gotten to meet her yeah i met her at her super
11:54ball and she gave me the most amazing lesson a person gave me in my life you have to be
12:05she didn't
12:07tell that she didn't tell this but that's like what i realized from our meeting you have to be
12:14the person you would love to meet for everyone no for no not convenience no for everyone be the
12:23person you would love to meet like when you are in situation you say like ah this person that made
12:27me
12:28feel so uncomfortable so bad i don't want to be that she made me feel very special in that room
12:34when i
12:34got in she was so uh she was like eating little pollitos like chicken she was eating little pollitos and
12:42she was already pregnant and she presented his pregnancy that night and she was like with no
12:48shoes just sitting on her sofa and she was talking to me like things that i never i didn't know
12:54that
12:54she knew my music she knew my career and she made me feel very comfortable she talking about like as
13:01a
13:01like as a girl like i'm very proud i'm like so after that i was like ah okay maybe this
13:07is the best
13:08lesson that i can have like i need to be that person that people and my fans would love to
13:13meet
13:13when they see me i want everyone to feel comfortable in my presence that's very beautiful i felt like that
13:18with her did you show her the tattoo of course like you know what happened to me crazy so embarrassed
13:25like she must be super tired of me talking about her and actually sometimes i think ah you're showing
13:34too much and when you show too much like i don't i don't need to do a song with her
13:39like i i don't
13:40that's a dream my list but i don't need to i met her now my next dream in life is
13:46just to go out with
13:47her like and speak about life and whatever but i was shaking so bad when i met her and i
13:54was like so
13:55embarrassed about like my body was shaking i was like kind of hi rihanna i love you and my voice
14:01and
14:02everything like kind of just put me on my ballet song and i was just dancing i was shaking like
14:07literally shaking and i i'm still embarrassed about it and were you just like i got a tattoo of you
14:14i got a tattoo of you like i couldn't stop speaking we were like there for an hour and i
14:19was like yeah
14:19living my life you know it was my moment i don't know maybe never repeat again so i just i'm
14:26so happy
14:26for you though and that makes me so happy that you had such a positive experience with her she has
14:31such a
14:32beautiful energy and i oh my god i think so many women look up and she smells like heaven
14:39she smells like like like like rihanna you're like do you want to just actually do the rest of this
14:45episode let's talk about rihanna because carol she's like you know what yeah next i can keep like
14:51yeah yeah yeah um i think that's how a lot of people feel about her though um okay let's talk
14:56about
14:56your latest album tropicoqueta how did you come up with the name okay with tropicoqueta it was like
15:03a world of different things because uh i did the album while i was on tour and i was just
15:07going to
15:08these different countries all over the world and even in like if i was in europe or whatever
15:15i had like all these people coming from all the different latina countries and and the name it was
15:21like kind of we as a latinas we are coquetas we are like these flurry girls like we love uh
15:28being
15:28like the the center of the room like we like that and and and we're sexy and we love our
15:34curves because
15:35they're in a specific way and whatever and i wanted to express all of that and for me the name
15:40was like
15:40a kind of a tropical vibe and a flurry vibe and i put them together and it's a tropicoqueta and
15:48we are
15:49all of us i mean it's so good and i think there's so many good also love songs on this
15:55so i have to
15:56ask where where is your head at currently when it comes to dating carol no like i'm done for a
16:05while
16:05you know like yeah yeah i think i'm okay no but not not not in a bad way is i
16:12feel very special to
16:14when i'm alone because uh it's when i focus more more in myself and i kind of i'm liking it
16:21a lot
16:21to be this way right now so i'm not like even i'm not missing like to be with someone i'm
16:28just
16:29enjoying my my yeah i'm enjoying having fun like being in my process with the music thinking about
16:36like i just want to be back on tour with my fans i just i'm i'm missing them i'm thinking
16:42more about
16:43that relationship like because uh i like i put it like in a side and i was ready to start
16:50like a
16:50different thing in my personal life i think i was ready and just life told me like not yet uh
16:56-huh and
16:57just not not yet so i'm just trying to get the message you know and yeah do you think that
17:03you
17:03have a type oh maybe yes i like the bad guy a little bit you know i have to change
17:11that that's
17:12why and i like the the guy that like it it looks like he's from the neighborhood and he's chill
17:22and
17:22yeah that's my type i love how you just caught yourself too you're like the bad guys oh wait no
17:27i'm i'm done with them yeah that's why i have this message from heaven yeah it's being like that's
17:34why stop stop what is an ideal first date for you oh take me to eat like uh hot dog
17:41french fries like
17:43take me to this street most dirty place in the world that made me feel that i'm the who like
17:51where you
17:51come from but guy and i love that yeah carol no bad guy no i know no like erase this
17:59and let's start
18:00again and what about um buck club uh date and i love bad guys i'm fucked yeah you're fucked every
18:15answer
18:15you're every time i ask you about love you're so sweet because you're so romantic and you're like
18:20and then you just like drift off and you're fully talking about the bad guys i'm like carol and you're
18:24like oh wait no now after this interview you're gonna be like my little boys carol no okay we're
18:30gonna play a little game okay let's see how much you like bad guys i'm gonna give you a scenario
18:35and you're gonna tell me what you would do okay what would you do if you start dating a guy
18:41and then you find out he has been a secret massive fan of yours for years
18:47no no that's gonna take it like i don't know like he if he admires what i do is a
18:53thing
18:54but he was like a crazy fan like i don't know okay what would you do if your boyfriend proposed
19:00and you absolutely hated the ring he got you i know i don't care
19:07you don't care no about the ring yeah no but i care more about the moment when he asked me
19:13what
19:14would ideal proposal be i don't know like a really unique one like be be creative would you
19:22pretend to like the ring yeah love it okay what would you do if you caught your boyfriend lying
19:28about his location problems we have like crazy problems that's gonna start like a a new
19:37way of manage this relationship what is the biggest lie you ever caught a guy in
19:42a location and a location but i'm talking about miles and kilometers and seas
19:52seas seas and seas like i'm here and actually i'm in a in a different continent
19:59no yeah it happened to me girl what do you do in those situations do you go off or do
20:07you go
20:07quiet no no no that's a no that's a next that's an axe yeah so now i'm telling something okay
20:14now
20:15you can move on okay what would you do if you found out the guy you're seeing is still best
20:18friends
20:19with his ex-girlfriend if i met him that way i don't have any problem and because of
20:27i have really good relationship with some of my ex-boyfriends okay and and they're like do you
20:33like hang out with them but what is when you say hung out is what like going to party or
20:39yeah like
20:39would you see like would you hang out alone with them no no no that's disrespectful okay you would
20:45just like socialize no social exactly okay and exactly socialize and you're just cordial like
20:50it's chill like you're not okay so no bad blood no no no bad okay last one a guy didn't
20:56come up to
20:57you all night at a party but then he dms you when you get home again a guy is it
21:03the whole night in
21:04the party but he didn't he didn't say nothing but then he dm me no you lost your opportunity
21:11okay it are you or is anyone sliding into your dms in the coachella land right now no no or
21:23just have
21:23you not checked your dms no but i i right now i don't have instructions i just deleted the it
21:30was
21:30taking me a lot of time to be right you're busy yeah and then i want to be focused on
21:35like my show
21:36in my things call her daddy is brought to you by depop i feel like we all have that one
21:41chair in
21:41our bedroom that becomes the i'll deal with it later pile well for me that pile has slowly taken
21:48over my entire chair and the whole floor and the whole room okay and there are pieces in there that
21:55i have been meaning to sell since my 2020 tie-dye sweats era yes i know let's not talk about
22:01you know
22:01also the barrel jeans phase guys remember that that trend was just simply not for me okay it came
22:07and went quickly thankfully um but that's where depop comes in because what feels wrong in your closet
22:12might be exactly what someone else has been searching for depop is a resale marketplace where
22:19you can buy sell and discover secondhand fashion that you'll actually be excited to wear and i know
22:24reselling can sound a little intimidating right but they make it so easy guys you literally just take a
22:31picture of your item and depop helps with the rest even suggesting a price to help it sell one of
22:37the
22:37best parts is the buyer pays for shipping and there are no seller fees so you keep more of your
22:44money
22:45amazing we love to hear it and you don't even need a printer you can choose a convenient drop off
22:50and call it a day whether you're cleaning out your closet looking for a friday night out outfit
22:55or just experimenting with your style depop has something for everyone and every style
23:00if your closet needs a reset start with depop download the depop app now and start listing
23:06today okay last question okay oh my god like last question it sounds like it's a hard question no no
23:12no easy easy um you are one of the biggest artists of our time and just hearing obviously about
23:19you as a little girl with your dad dreaming of the day and then you standing in those stadiums and
23:24looking at 90 000 people and standing there and realizing how many people love you and love your
23:32music and connect with your music like when you look at your career what do you hope fans take away
23:38from listening to your music with their selves um yeah i want to be a bridge for the people to
23:45get together with their selves uh it's just a thing that cost me a lot to understanding the process and
23:54there's this moment of perfectly worlds in social media everyone has a perfect life everything is so
24:02aesthetic everything is so perfect there's no process for nothing it's from here to success
24:06no i want the people to take realness from my journey and understand that there's hard situation
24:14there's sacrifices there's hard work there's discipline there's things like the ones that
24:20happened to me that happens to everyone and i just want them to understand that we are in a process
24:26everyone is in a process everything's gonna be okay everything's gonna be fine i cannot thank you
24:32enough for coming on call her daddy this was so fun i feel like i learned even more about you
24:38today
24:39i feel inspired i'm so happy for you for all of your success thank you so much it's a pleasure
24:45and a
24:45honor to be here and this specific moment i think this interview is going to be really helpful in my
24:53career so thank you so much for opening this door for me and to your community uh we're really big
24:59fans
24:59of your show even me and my friends so they're there very happy behind the monitor and thank you
25:06so much you have a great show congratulations and thank you for having me today oh my god thank you
