00:00But it's really interesting, Tobias, because many people would say, yes, Iran is emerging
00:05the stronger power when it comes to the ace card of the Strait of Hamas, holding the global
00:11economy hostage, but also at the same time, the regime and the IRGC have been severely
00:19weakened, and we have seen splits emerging when it comes to that.
00:24And we must also remember the whole reason people went out to protest in Iran was because
00:29of the economy, which has once again taken even more of a hit.
00:33So there is optimism out there that eventually we could see an uprising in Iran, the people
00:40come up, take to the streets and make a change.
00:45Do you think that is likely now at all?
00:47I may be wrong, but I can't see that happening at all, simply because the regime can now blame
00:53an outside force, a third party, if you like, on the situation, on the economy, on the
00:59the fact that infrastructure has been damaged.
01:02And often in these cases is that those with power tend to emerge all the stronger because
01:09the entire country is weakened, but they still are in control.
01:14And don't forget, this regime has been very clever in preparing for this for decades to
01:19decentralize decision making down right across the 31 provinces.
01:24So I think the idea that there's going to be the rallying of any form of opposition, the
01:30time to have done that, I say, is when just after the regime killed what we understand
01:36is almost tens of thousands of people, that's when the world should have stepped in.
01:42That was justification then to intervene in what Iran was doing.
01:46But the world blinked.
01:47Donald Trump blinked.
01:48Donald Trump raised the bar by saying, we're going to be there for you.
01:52And now, as I suggest, I think he's going to walk away.
01:55He's realized this is far too hard.
01:57He can't get the Venezuelan outcome that perhaps he was after.
02:00He's now got the midterm elections to then focus on, and he's just going to walk away.
02:05But he's spinning this narrative back in America that this is some form of victory, as you yourself
02:11were outlining.
02:12He's going to walk away.
02:14He's going to walk away.
02:14He's going to walk away.
02:16He's going to walk away.
