00:00And I'm being very clear in my mind. I don't care who among them operators vex. And I've said to
00:07the secretary's responsible that a tighter meeting, so I'm not going to meet with nobody, lay down the rules that
00:16they have to follow by or they cannot operate in spaces owned by the THA. Full stop. Who vex? Lost.
00:23As for a total ban on the operation of jet skis, Agustin said it is being discussed by the THA.
00:31It is actually something being considered now. As a matter of fact, I was doing some research and I saw
00:38a complaint some years ago because there was an outright ban, a full ban.
00:46And those in the sector were complaining that they were not consulted 15 years ago to the date. 15 years
00:59ago. And I saw this from a Trinidad Express report.
01:06Mr. Agustin said with the Crunk Point Police Station in close proximity to the Storbe Beach facility and the Pigeon
01:15Point Heritage Park, there must be greater enforcement of the law.
01:19And yes, the police are worthwhile partners and we support the TTPS. Don't get me wrong, we support them. And
01:27the THA supports them sometimes by giving them resources that we are not duty bound in law to give to
01:34them.
01:34But what this says to me is that the continuous vigilance and monitoring that should be happening, that does not
01:46always happen.
01:47He said he wants the localised police bill before the parliament as a matter of urgency.
01:53We have spoken about the localised police force and the responsibilities those will take. That has not gone to parliament
02:03as yet two Fridays ago. That came up in the conversation, in the discussion on the agenda I had with
02:10the Prime Minister at that meeting about two Fridays ago as well. So we are pushing in that direction.
02:17He said the THA is looking at bringing its own lawsuits against offenders.
02:23We will use whatever legal authority we can find to go after individuals. As a matter of fact, I want
02:32to go and record a saying that I instructed the Secretary for Legal Affairs to look at whether or not
02:40the THA can bring legal or rather civil suits against those perpetrators because the law says that the THA is
02:51a body corporate.
