00:00You have this fly-in-the-ointment situation with Dexter Lawrence.
00:04Yes, indeed.
00:05And again, going back over what we were talking about yesterday,
00:08so Dexter has every right to do this and want a new contract.
00:13And when he basically says, I now want a trade,
00:18that means that there is a major impasse between John Harbaugh and Siegel, the agent.
00:25Because John Harbaugh is the one that's deciding all this.
00:27You don't pay John Harbaugh $20 million to come here just to coach football.
00:30He's coaching everything.
00:31His hands are involved in everything.
00:34I don't know how much Joe Shane has in terms of input.
00:39I know that these general managers and the scouts put a lot of time and effort into scouting these players.
00:46They know the players better than anybody, and that's why you would keep your GM.
00:50That's why you would keep your scouts on the staff until the draft is over.
00:54It's going to be really interesting to see what happens to Joe Shane after the draft.
00:58You know, and this, I talk about the Islanders and what they did.
01:03They bring in a general manager.
01:05The general manager inherits the coach.
01:06The coach, you know, it doesn't work out towards the end of the year.
01:09They hit a skid.
01:11They lose some key players to injury.
01:14Now, all of a sudden, they're in a free fall, and the GM's like,
01:18all right, we've got to get rid of the coach and get a new coach in here.
01:21It just happens like that all the time.
01:23So the question here is, since this hiring was by the Mara family,
01:29this was by Chris Mara going down there, being uber aggressive,
01:34and sitting in front of John Harbaugh saying,
01:36what do you need to become the head coach of the Giants?
01:39And not just in terms of money, because, you know, all these coaches, what do they want?
01:43They want control.
01:44So now he's inheriting this thing with Dexter Lawrence,
01:48and I'm sure that there are people inside that building that are telling him,
01:52you know, Dexter's a really good player when he's healthy,
01:55when he's at the right weight,
01:57and the previous coaching staff basically let him do whatever he wanted.
02:01And that can no longer happen.
02:05And there may be an impasse internally where they're going to have to trade him
02:10just because, you know, John Harbaugh's not going to want to deal with this.
02:13So then that may change what they do, you know, in the draft.
