00:00Well, if you've been reading the New York Post the last few days, then you are not surprised
00:04what happened Saturday night. Dexter Lawrence traded away from the Giants,
00:09goes to the Cincinnati Bengals. What did the Giants get in return? Their number 10 pick in
00:15the NFL draft next week. That is a tremendous return for the Giants. Now look, Dexter Lawrence
00:22is one of the best defensive tackles in the league. Two years ago, he probably was the best
00:27nose tackle in the entire NFL. He did not play great last year and something soured between
00:33Dexter Lawrence and the Giants. He wanted more money two years ago. He wanted more money last
00:38year. Don't forget, in May of 2023, Dexter Lawrence signed a four-year, $90 million contract with the
00:45Giants. It was a great deal for the Giants. It was an excellent deal for Dex. And two years later,
00:51he went from being the third highest paid defensive tackle in the league to being the 12th. That could
00:57not sit well with Dex at all. He could not deal with that. The Giants were willing to give him
01:02more money this year, even though he had two years remaining on his contract. But Dex just got to the
01:08point where he wanted everything. He wanted more money. And if he didn't get that, he wanted out.
01:13He wanted out. That's all there is to it. So once the Giants realized that Dexter Lawrence didn't want
01:17to come back, they worked this trade. And now the Giants have the number five pick in the draft
01:23and the number 10 pick. That is gold. That is draft gold.
