00:00Well, it didn't really come out of nowhere if you look at Dexter Lawrence's contract because the contract isn't nearly
00:05what everybody thinks it is.
00:07The agent goes out there and touts this contract, and it's an out for this year.
00:11You know what I'm like?
00:13The Giants could cut him with minimal cap implications, and I'll tell you why they didn't give him a contract.
00:20Number one, Joe Shane is probably telling John Harbaugh, look, this guy was way overweight last year.
00:26You know, we tried to talk him into losing some weight, and he just didn't do it.
00:31He got hurt.
00:32He wasn't the same player that he was when we gave him the contract.
00:36He's going to be 29 years old, and I would say for Dexter Lawrence, he's doing what he should be
00:41doing to protect his future, but he also needs to show motivation.
00:45He needs to show somebody some motivation, and my initial sense about all of this is about, yeah, see, this
00:54is going to be a trade, and this is going to be gone now.
00:56Because there's no way the Giants are going to give him the money that he's going to want, because they
01:01know the player.
01:02They know what he was like last year.
01:04You know, and John Harbaugh may have said all the right things about Dexter Lawrence, may have said all the
01:08right things about Odell Beckham Jr., may have said all the right things about Joe Shane.
01:12But he's not inheriting a $28 to $30 million albatross around his neck over the next four years, no matter
01:20how good Dexter Lawrence was two years ago.
