00:00Dexter Lawrence wanted more money last year. The Giants really didn't want to do anything.
00:03They gave him $3 million in the contract based on incentives.
00:07He didn't hit any of those other than playing time incentives.
00:11And so he got an extra million dollars last year.
00:13I think they're willing to do something similar to that again.
00:16That's why Joe Shane referred to. We've had good conversations, things like that.
00:21I think Joe was being kind when he was saying that they had conversations,
00:25but they really didn't get anywhere because Dexter Lawrence wants a lot more money.
00:30So what do you do when you want a lot more money and you have no leverage?
00:34You tell your agent to inform the Giants you want to be traded.
00:38OK, that's going to spur up interest.
00:40And the goal there is to get the Giants to ante up more money or to indeed get a trade
00:46and then let his agent negotiate with those teams for a new contract.
00:51Dexter Lawrence doesn't want to go to a new team on this contract.
00:54He wants to go to a new team on a much bigger contract.
00:57This is about following and chasing more money.
01:00That's what Dexter Lawrence wants.
01:01So that's where we are right now.
01:03The Giants feel no urgency to get anything done.
